First off let me say GREAT JOB by DCD and Co... I'm a former 6700 user (used to mod over at PPC6700users) and just recently upgraded to the Mogul... I'm new to the whole kitchen thing and with ease was able to use the new kitchen 2.3.0... Again, thanks to DCD and all other who contributed... I cannot begin to express how much we all appreciate the hard work and support you guys provide us...
Now to the question:
As mentined earlier, I have recently updated to 2.3.0 and as well updated the radio to 3.27.00... For some reason I am not able to get a lock with GPS... Can any one assist...?
I'm not sure if I missed something somewhere (the search feature in this forum is not the greatest). I have searched high and low with no luck...
Thanks in advance...

Also, try making a couple of calls from your Mogul and let it connect to the call for a couple of minutes. Mine wouldn't get a lock until I made a phone call. Maybe, it needs to register your location thru whatever cell site it connects thru. Although, that's just my own opinion, not really sure, but after I made a few calls, Google maps found me in less than a minute.

I didn't know it would take that long... I had read previous post where people said it connected within a minute but sure enough I set it by the window went and had dinner and there they were, 4 pretty little satelites waiting for me when I checked...
I guess I was too impatient... ;O)
Thanks to both for the advise... Let me learn my way around this mogul and who know's, maybe one day I can return the favor...

You can always warm up the GPS with software.
GPSLAUNCHER is to warm up the GPS to work with Tom Tom. This application launches Tom Tom after it warms up the GPS.
Just extract and copy to your device -- \windows\start menu\programs
GPSVIEWER1.5 is for other applications such as google maps and so on.
This one is installed through your computer ( I believe )
If you need assistance feel free to ask.

Does 2.3.0 have aPGS enabled by default?
If not, go to HLKM\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS
Set GPSMode to 4
Also, I would find and install QuickGPS.
Give that a shot and see if it speeds up your locks :)

I followed all the instructions:
Installed latest Unlocker (Hard-SPL-240-MFG.exe)
Installed latest Radio (Titan_Radio_3.27.00.exe )
Install DCD 2.3.1 (downloaded from this link): Size=37.16Mb
http://www.fileshex.com/download.php?file=1426af0da72a82fe758300e3980f7520
Got everything up and running. (Following directions from XDA forums)
Couldn't make a phone call. Send an SMS, or search the net on IE.
Figured out I needed to call Verizon for an A-key. (Authentication Key)
She asked why i needed it and I told her "i am doing some Windows Mobile sftware developing and had to do multiple HARD resets throughout the day). She said no prob and talked me through the A-key entry using ##778(I think its that. dont worry, CS will talk you through without hesitation.
Anyway. make sure you write the A-key down when customer service gives it to you cause its suppose to be the one assigned to your Phone number and should work every time you need to enter it. If it doesn't then just call them back and give them the same story and they will give you another A-key.
that fixed the data connection problem.
BTW: upgrading the Software deleted my Data connection password and user name.
Password is (Your 10 digit number@vzw3g.com) password is (VZW).
NOW, i am back to working conditions and DCD 2.3.1 is awesome.
Love the Iphone style SMS conversation format. Lets you view each conversation you have with a person in a straight separate list of texts. no more need to hop back and forth between Sent Box and Inbox to decipher conversations.
SO, everything works EXCEPT GPS. had all the settings right. like Location ON in Setting, Phone, Services Tab, Click on Location Settings, Get Settings, select "Location ON". Had Com 5 selected on software in external GPS settings. Hardware set to "None" 4800 Baud. Still nothing.
Google Maps keeps showing that its searching for satellites but to no avail.
Finally, came across a post about a free program called "GPS Today" Looked cool so gave it a shot.
Sure as shit it worked immediately. Got 5 satellites connected and there was the little blue dot on top of my house!!! YEEE HAAA
After a little trial and error i figured out the program.
Still i wanted Google Maps to work with GPS.
BA BA BA BAAAAAAA! I turned on Google Maps and all of a sudden it picked up 5 satellites and I was up and running.
Bottom line, I think GPS Today did something and it got Google Maps to start using GPS.
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO PUT UP AWESOME POSTS.

I think I might be retarded...
I did everything I think I was supposed to do, I unlocked, flashed the radio, then flashed DCD's ROM...
My screen says:
ROM Version dcd2.3.1
Radio Version 3.27.00
but, I can't get the GPS to work with TomTom6...
I tried using the GPSLauncher, AstroGPSLauncher, and QuickGPS...
Any ideas?

Everything seems to be in order now... Thanks everyone for all the advise... Now I'm going to play around and find an app that I like... I've tried TomTom (don't like it)... GoogleMaps is very basic but to be honest I'm looking for something a bit basic but functional as well which gMaps is not that functional as a GPS software plus it downloads from the net which seems to be a bit laggy... I'll find something but suggestions are welcome too...
Thanks again everyone...

When asking for help, would it be helpful to let others know what you are looking for in a GPS software? Basic but functional isn't a very good description.
TomTom6 paired with AstroGPSLauncher is a great combination. I don't have to start GMaps or other program to get the GPS going, I have GPS that doesn't have to have a data connection, for when I'm in the U.P. and there is no signal.

GoogleMaps is Basic in the sense that it is a 2D Map, which I like for use on the phone... Let's face it, this phone has a lot going on in the background besides just the GPS and Map app which to me makes it a bit slow and less responsive than normal when trying to process the graphical 3D maps... I don't need 3D mapping, virtual views or anything like that... A 2D Map is perfect... but GooleMaps lacks TTS, a decent search engine, Route recalculation, etc... which are characteristics of a good GPS unit... I like MioMaps for the fact that you can change your means of trasportation from car to bus to taxi to bike to pedestrian, etc, etc, etc... These types of options make more sence to me on a mobile device such as our phones since we could be traveling and need to switch from one means to another...
I'm going to look into MioMaps and see... but in the mean time, if anyone has other suggestions or experience with MioMaps on the Titan, your input would be greatly valued...
Keep on cookin'...

Hey... I think I remember you as "davidew98" on PPC6700users... am I right? We had all kinds of fun trying to dissect the 6700 through QPST... still have the thread bookmarked in Firefox.
I'll throw in a plug for Odyssey Mobile (http://www.infogation.com) as a navigation program that I really like. It came bundled with my Holux GPSlim 236 BT unit that I bought after I gave up on getting internal GPS to work with the 6700. The only thing it's missing that the others like TomTom have is text-to-speech... it doesn't say "Turn right on Main Street" but instead just says "Turn right in 200 feet". Other than that it does everything else really well.
And, I have had zero problems with it working with the 6800's internal GPS... just point Odyssey at COM port 4 and it just works... no launcher or "priming" required.
