I like the HTC Camera Album very much but I can't change the directories to browse my picture which are not in DCIM-Folder.
Is there a possibility to add this function?
I found the reg-entry to make the standard picture viwer but its senceless without "directory change"-menu.
I testet "HTC AlbumFolder DirectoryOption.cab" but when I want to install it occurs a failure with the rights of my device.
Thank u 4 help!

Like 2hot4tv, I'm puzzled about how you view photo's in other directories using htc's otherwise excellent camera album.
I did discover that if I used "open with" (part of ISS essentials) to open a picture stored elsewhere, then it appeared in the album, but only that picture, not its neighbours.
Yours hopefully,
Roy.

You can try the following. That will not allow you to view all the pictures in different directories with HTC Album, but you get rid of the DCIM folder.
1. In the camera menu choose the option to save the pictures on the storage card.
2. Then do the following registry change:
HKLM \Software\HTC\Camera\General
Set "EnableDCIM" to 0 (default is 1)
This will change the path for the camera album to Storage Card\My Documents\My Pictures
3. Copy all your pictures in this directory.
Now you can view them with HTC Album.
To view pictures in different folders, you have to use the HTC Picture an Video viewer programm.

Only MPG4 videos are shown in HTC Album. It seems, that HTC Album is not able to show other coded videos. Switching back to the DCIM folder donīt work.
So far as I know, there is no solution at the moment.

Windows mobile device centre syncs all pictures to the \Storage Card\Pictures folder. Is it possible to change the settings for the HTC camera album to view this folder instead of DCIM or My Pictures?
Thanks

some solutions in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=376418 including some versions of HTC Album that allow you to choose which folder you want to browse.

Here is the solution to that problem:
1: Create a folder in your storage card named "My Documents" and inside it another named "My Pictures"
1: Remove your storage card
2: Go to File Explorer, go to My Device and create a New Folder named "Storage Card"
3: Insert your storage card and now it should be named "Storage Card2"(that's because the system changes it)
That's it! If you take pictures(and assuming you've selected storage card as destination) they should save in Storage Card2/My Documents/My Pictures
I hope its useful!!

You are kidding right? Anyway this is a really old thread, but for people who still don't know the answer to this question, the best way nowadays is to upgrade to the latest version of HTC Album. Search for M2D Applications and you'll find it.
