I notice that I can't customise my HTC Home with HTC Home Customizer.
Is it because HTC Home is burnt in the ROM and disallowing any updating?

I believe many users are having problems with restoring MMS caused by the merged SMS/MMS folder. I guess I'll go back to separate folders in final release. But I'd like the users opinion on this subject.

Many of the newest ROMs (and even network operator OS) have separated MMS/SMS system so to retain compatability with upgrading then I think you should upgrade arcsoft and have the separate MMS / SMS folders. Then people don't have to worry about having the latest PIMBackup.

- when you use the long click on contacts and use video call ... it just goes for voice call
- the message sent notification is gone ... u need to request delivery notification and get a message to know that you message is sent.
- and yeah as everybody said ... the normal message system is more convenient .. although i like the conversation style ;)

about the sms/mms folder split ... well ... if all the new softwares have it merged it must be for a reason ... right ?! ( if it's good for us ... bring it on !!!) i still prefer to have them separated ... but what would i know ?!! ;)

I know it is complicated to satisfy to everyone, but I think that the threaded SMS/MMS it is one of the new feature that must be preserved.

Funny thing is why ArcSoft, did not make an option in their settings for a threaded or split message even we can do it with registry edit.

Don't worry. If you like this version, and are going to install the final version when I release it, you get the Elegance screens removed. But if you want to know more about creating splash screens and how to flash them into your device, why don't you take a look at:

Once again, I remind you that it doesn't matter the version I use for ArcsoftMMS (separate or merged SMS/MMS folder), the threaded messages will still be present, since it's a feature from WM6.1 not ArsofMMS.

You are quite right!! I originaly started cooking ROMs for personal use, and later decided to share it with other users. I've already made up my mind about what I'll include in both ROMs Normal and Light. I'm always glad to accept suggestions about new software versions, so the ROM can be up to date.

I'm sorry to say that the V5 camera is not fully working on our device, so it'll not be included.

I'm certainly not the boss, however, it's true that it's up to me the final decision on what to include in the ROM. But I also would like to please as many users possible.
For me, I would definitely use version 5.0.31.7 of Arcsoft MMS with merged SMS/MMS(again, I'm not talking about threaded messages), which seems to be the future unless cookers continue using version 4.2.8.1, or someone find a way to patch the new version so it'll accept separate folders. Another reason for this choice would be that version 4.2.8.1 takes ~700Kb more Storage space than version 5.0.31.7.

Yes! I've already come across that app. And indeed seems to be a promising one, but at this point it's missing one very important customization: the height size which the minimum is 60, so if we want to use it along with PDC it ends up taking much space. Lets wait and see how it evolves ;).

I think the PIM backup is a very important tool becouse sometime you have to make hard rest to your Trinity and you are awy from your outlook access and you need your contacts back

I really love the 1.50.08.11 ... with which GPS , GSM 3G are all fine .. however .. battery consumption is uge with this one compared to 1.46.00.11 which has a little worse GSM ;) than the 1.50.08.11...

My advice is to use which ever is best for your country network, because it may vary. So if 1.46.30.11 is working fine for you there's no need to upgrade.

The WMP skin can be easily fixed by copying the skin files to Program Files\Windows Media Player. There's already a post explaining the procedure in the thread.;)
The A2DP fix is not possible since it works along with a XIP file, so it must be cooked in the ROM.

This is really great rom and I will continue to use it for sure.
However I noticed a problem and I do not know if it is only because of me or it is generic problem for this rom.

I have recorded videos with my previous roms and when I play them with media player from this rom, there is no sound. Any ideas what might the problem is?

Because there's no MMS software included in Light version. You must install the ArcsoftMMS version you wish to use, or some other MMS software.

It was my mistake when creating the post. ClearTemp V1.0 is already included in the ROM.

The normal can't either...

It will most likely work if you take some time to configure you network provider's MMS settings. I tested sending MMS before releasing the ROM and it's working 100%.

Thanx for your intention to help. Some people like me use light version because we do not want to cramp our PPC with unused software. It is a freedom to us to choose softwares we wanted. Furthermore, I used your modified FInix ROM before he actually released his new light ROM. And cryon_at, not all of us have time/knowledge to cook ROM :)

WkTask can do the same as X-button. You may follow cryon_at advice and flash with normal version that contains the softwares i'm talking about. Normal version has the latest version of MMS composer too.

this means that ... it is recording ... but it's not playing ... for some reason .. it plays fine with media player ...

The Light version doesn't have X-Button to close applications. You must install some software like WkTasK or HTC Task Manager.

For your information, most of the light versions out there include MSS composer in their ROM. The definition of light ROM may varies from another cookers but MMS is an essential component in PPC. If there is a retail software as good as (or better) ArcsoftMMS then I don’t really mind.
Anyway, it is your call since it is your ROM. I am just expressing my opinions. Thank you.

As you may or may not know, ON/OFF buttons and Large Buttons are skins, so they need the skin files in order to work. In this ROM the Large button skin is not included.
If you want to be able to use that skin, you must copy all skin files to Windows Folder in your device, only after that you can apply the skin.

You shoud start using a Screen Capture app to get you devices screenshots, well, that or resize the photos before uploading them...:D

About your problem, it could help if you said which programs you have installed in your device.

I'm not sure but I think this slowdown is related to arcsoft. I noticed it when i changed to the newer version. It was only after that, that I fixed the sounds and notifications.

Flashing Radio ROM can be done separately. Most people do not want to change their Radio ROM due to compatibility in their carrier. Latest version of Radio ROM does not mean it is good for you. Furthermore, including Radio ROM in the package will increase the file size and additional time to flash your phone.

go for the non-light (normal) version, the bundled programs are a way too useful for me. the light version gave you a hefty ~73mb free memory, i know it is lot but it's definitely worth to go for normal version.

Basically Remote Desktop is a program that allows users to control their PCs from the PPC.
Comm Manager 12 functions can be easily enabled by installing Shaps Advanced Config, going to Comm Manager Settings and selecting default style and choosing all 12 functions, OR you can just download the file here attached, copy it to your device and run it(the Comm Manager must be closed for this patch to work).;)

Btw, when i choose new sms in 3.1 and go into my contact list there is no alphabet to help speed up the scrolling. you can of course type the letters using keypad, but it will cost you a couple of seconds. is this the same in 3.1.1?

I prefer to install everything from scratch, have more resources available and other unnecessary things ... Ja decided in any way, the version of the office that I was using update, caught here in the same forum a full version of Office 2007 (with One Notes).

Let's see if i can give some "instructions":
Enable Network Plugin in Start->Settings->Connections
The device will ask to reboot
After rebooting, go to Start->Settings->Connections->Network Plugin again so you can map the shares (you must be connected to your network, I do it by WIFI)
Close the plugin
Open file explorer
You now have a new folder called Network. Inside it will be the shares you have mapped before.OBS:
You can only use this plugin to access your PCs shared folder.
You can't share a folder from your device(please someone correct me if i'm wrong)

btw the voice mail and the mms are working but you cand play the recorded voice in the mms program ( aka arcsoft ) ... it sends and plays well in other phones and .. the amr files plays well in media player ...

Great Rom, very fast - i installed the lite version but i have one problem - after install the HTC Album i get only 2 pictures from device My Pictures folder although i open the camera and choose the storage card.
How can i use the HTC Album to show all my pictures from device and storage card? In the previous rom version i had no problems.

1. Open the Registry Editor, and navigate to:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\SM S]
"FriendlyName"="SMS \ MMS"<-- Change this value to whatever you like.
2. Open WkTasK preferences and change "the offset from the right edge" to a smaller value than 115, or you can also do this by moving the slider the stylus.
3. I don't have a BT stereo headset, so it's not possible for me to test that function.

It should be working fine because I've tested and WMP searches my Storage Card for media files.

Even if you disabled beam by accident, you should still be able to send files but couldn't receive, and not the other way around...
Could there be some app messing with your BT?
Have you installed any soft after you flashed your device?
Did you have that problem right after flashing?
Maybe you should try to test that, or give me some more details so I can reproduce that error.

1º que tudo muito o brigado pela sua atenção. O meu problema realmente é um bocado esquesito, pois eu tenho ambasa as opções de beam activadas no commanager e sistem/beam e nao consigo enviar files (neste caso fotos) entre o pda e um Nokia ngage mas consigo receber sem problemas. estou a utilizar os resco file explorer e o explorador normal do wm mas o resusltado é sempre negativo. mesmo depois de emparelhar os 2 dispositivos.
Entre o PC e PDA de pois de emparelhar ja consigo enviara e receber sem problemas, e entre a NGAGE e o PC tb sem problemas agora entre PDA e NGAGE nepia. Eu nao sei responder se este problema é desde o inicio pois ja utilizo esta sua rom a 1mes +- mas so hoje utilizei o BT.

Two remarks regarding version 3.1.1.

- Does the Internet Explorer's new "Zoom Out" zoom window function work for you? When I click on it, nothing happens. If I'm wrong how can I get it work? After installing a standalone cab for PIE WM6.1 over your version, it started to work but PIE freezes quite often when using the Zoom Out function. :(

- I always get ActiveSync error code 86000107 when syncing with 2 PC's. After some googling, I found that this is a common problem with cooked wm6.1 ROMs. Any solution for this?

After I upgrade the rom with the memory card inside the triny (microSDHC 8GB sandisk + adapter) I can use it until the triny freeze. I made a SR and since then I can’t read any card. I have already downgrade to other rom, even an official one and I can’t read any card (miniSD 2GB Kingston, miniSDHC 4GB Toshiba or microSDHC 8GB Snadisk+adaptor). This cards are read in another triny with Faman 4.02 perfectly.

My triny begin to read the cards, but after the first directory it freezes and I must get it out if I want to use the triny again without SR.

Please has anyone same suggestions?

Is there any way to get this rom to transfer files via bluetooth as many other do? I was quite used to the bluetooth folder on my file explorer and it worked just fine, I don't see why would you take it out.
Still this rom is great and I rather using an english language rom that's really good and stable before on in spanish that sucks.

I have tested it on my Windows XP environment at work and it sees all the PCs on the network (approx. 20).
But, here at home, it does not see any of my 3 Windows Vista PCs.
Is it a Vista issue or is my router blocking some ports?

I've encountered the first issue when using this ROM (but no identical problem with the others).

That is, when I launch IE, it would freeze for 8-12 seconds before loading the home page, whether it was set as the local page or an internet page.

Have you set up your sms settings? (service center number)
Try going to Start, Settings, Phone, Services, tap on Voice Mail and Text Messages, then tap get settings and there should be the service center numbers for your provider. If not, or they are wrong, enter them manually.

Thanks for the reply man, i have the correct SMS Service Center Number, i just called my provider and gave me the SMS Center Number and it was the same with what's apperaring on my device. Unfortunately, they do not have any other service center number alternatives.

I have discovered that i am the only having problems with this carrier, my brother and sister having the same carrier doesn't have any problem at all (they are using nokia phones). I have tried using my sim into my other device (treo 650) and works without problem, i have tried Schap's WM6 and still getting the same problem but it works a bit better that this ROM..i flashed back to this ROM now and will see what will happen..any thoughts dude? I suspect it's the device itself not compatible with my carrier.. take note that I'm not into the 2 major network carriers here in the Philippines, they offer the cheapest rates but i think they are technologically behind the major telcos. i can use this sim before with my htc wizard, prophet, asus p525 and had no problems at all. i just don't know why this damn sim wouldn't work okay with my trinity.

SOLVED! I just have to set the Band Settings to GSM (900+1800)+UMTS (2100) because Sun Cellular (my net network provider) uses only 1800 band.. and disbaled HSDPA on Connection Settings and binggo! Problem solved!

I've noticed many people have replied regarding SMS-threading.
This isn't what FInixNOver was originally asking, although it might become an issue now.

What he is wondering is whether people think SMS/MMS folders should be merged or split. But I think you should keep it split with the newest arcsoft so that you can retain compatability with other ROMs and pimbackup.

Regarding SMS threading, I think you should keep it threaded as this is a main feature of WM6.1

If people want to turn off threaded / turn on SMS notifications, there is a solution here:

There is also an easy utility for changing between smsthreading and the regular. Called BIGIX Mode SMS for WM6.1. Easy layout.

Running this ROM. Must say it is the best so far on my trinity.
Anyway, still one bugreport and one modification-request:

BUGREPORT:
1. Running WMP, when updating library the software finds the media files on my storage card and counts them. then all of sudden freezes and stays that way for approx 10 min. When finished, i cannot find the audio-files on my storagecard in library. Neither can i browse my storage card via WMP. Total Commander still finds the storage card. Any suggestions?

I have enabled the threaded sms and i dont use outlook email. So in my HTC Home plugin, when touching both the email-button, and the sms-button, i open the SMS/MMS inbox. Which is ofcourse double up.

I would like to modify the email-button to open a "new sms" instead. I have already a New sms, link in programs. How do i link that to the email-button?

My voicemail icon is always on screen (sometimes just half of the voicemail icon as I think it is obscured by the application that displays your open apps). When I reboot, I am told I have new voicemail, even though I haven't.
(Logged into voicemail and checked and also tried my SIM in another phone and checked).

Anybody else seen this behaviour?

I can update weather in my device in two ways without using GPRS:

1- Connect the device to the PC with the USB cable and sync (I'm using Windows XP).
When creating a partnership in ActiveSinc, make sure your firewall is not blocking the device access to the internet. Also you can check the connection settings in Activesinc to see the option
This computer connects to: (or something similar, because I use Activesinc in Portuguese, so I'm not sure the translation is correct)
-Automatic (this is the one used by default)
-Work
-Internet
I usually check the last option in Connetion Settings "Allow data sessions..." or something like that.(Here it works either way).

2- Connect to my home router through WIFI and sync.

To disconnect the GPRS you have 2 ways to do it:

1- Click on the signal strength icon and a ballon will popup with a disconnect button.

2- Press the end call hardware button for 5sec to terminate the GPRS connection

I also tried to search USSD problem and found many similar problems with different Windows Mobile device. Eten is one of them, too. Is it WM related problem?

I personally don't have that problem, but have you tried checking your SIM card to see if the SMS capacity is full? Maybe that's the reason why you always have the icon showing in the title bar. I can't be sure of this, it's just a suggestion.

May be you could try one of these:
- Start Menu -> Settings -> Personal Tab -> Sound & Notifications -> Notifications Tab
- Open Messaging -> Open SMS \ MMS -> Menu -> MMS Options -> Check / Uncheck Allow delivery report

THis is the best rom i had ever traied thanx FInixNOver.

One small thing i would like to mention < if you go to the setting then open Sound and notigication then tab to notification , it will take more than 5 second to open depending how many sound or vedio files you have in your PPC. this was a problem in my old hemalaya WM3 then i found it in your roms 3.1 & 3.11.

Hello.

I found out that if you receive an SMS and press the left soft key, the one that Deletes the SMS immediately, the message is gone but the notification LED stays blinking orange for the time specified at "Sounds and Notifications", in my case 15 minutes.

Anyone know how to modify it or maybe a bug??

It work without any issues.

Theres is 1 today plugin to change sim, but I don't use it.

Instead I created a script with Mortscript and assigned to hardware button.
This way I can just press the button and change operator sim card.
It's very good!!

Hi,

I've a problem. i installed 3.1.1 full version. everything was correct, i change the language to french. it said to me to reboot. i used menu to "Reboot" and then i am currently block on 1st green screen with "Powered by Finixover" just after numbers disappear.
I have tryed some hard reset but nothing change.

So I've assign the lock action (default lock from WM) to a hardware key.
When I lock the PDA, the application which is running always minimize and the today is show.
It could be a good idea but for my using it's not...
Do you know how to change this, on FAMAN the application didn't minimize.
I try to deactivate The task manager (Wktask), to replace by HTC Task, same result.
Could you help me ?

Which aplication are you using to assign device lock to the hardware key?
Maybe this can be a setting you can change...

About deactivating Wktask:
Go to Wktask preferences, and in Startup tab press disable.
After that, just close Wktask.

Hi,
this is the VJDeviceLock (http://www.vijay555.com/?Releases:VJDeviceLock). Edit : VJDeviceLock - WM5 only...I know...but it works....:-)
It worked before when I used WM5 SFR ROM and WM6 FAMAN ROM.
I think there is something to configure but where ? :p
Or if you know how to lock with a harware button and keep the application running visible I'm interesting !

In Settings->Personal->Sounds&Notification->Notifications there is event called Phone: Inconing call. Looks the List of 'ringtones" is somehow fixed - wav files added to \Windows\ do not appear on the list :( (standard is: Flamenco,Standard,Vision,WindowsMobile) Any idea how to deal with it?
I'm guessing there must be a kind of config file?

From what I've found in other Roms, put your custom ringtones into \Windows\Rings

Then they show up on your lists... Hope it works here. :D

I tried this already, but you convinced me to try again. I just realised the files have 'hidden' attribute! Tricky to find out if your wm6 and vista both showing hidden files (at least files managers).

it was the fastest ever ...

tried it for around a week .. with no restarts needed other then the ones u do electively !!!

it had only two minor issues ... the msg sent notification which is easily rectified !! thanks to finixnover and all the guys
and the video call in context menu ... (which is the one i'm asking for help with ;)
it's not a major issue ... but to get it fixed would be fine ;)

To solve the problem with video call context menu in contacts issue, open your registry editor and change this value:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DialParser]
"DLL-OEM"="phcanhtc.dll"

I am using this ROM from the first day u issued it. Every thing work nice with me, this week I notice a bug which I don’t know wither it is from the rom it self or from other program I install. The bug is that, I was setting the ALARM at 7:30 AM during the work days then changed it to 8:30 AM last week; I notice that it is renigig twoise ?? at 7:30 AM ( the old ALARM Time) and 8:30 AM ( the new ALARM). The solution for that is to deactivate the ALARM then set the new time again.

I know you are working in the new ROM, so please check this issue.

this is has nothing to do with the regonal setting. may be you did not get me :).

my device is giving tow alarms 7:30 & 8:30

Unless i deactivate the alarm then set new time.

Whats wrong with my trinity, when i flash this ROM i get a white screen right after the bootloader and radio version screen, but i hear the setup sounds when you first start the ROM after flashing. pls help i am really confused now???:confused:

:) i figured it was the olipro 1.20 hardspl that was doing the white screen thing. i flashed my trinity with the des hardspl and now its fine. thanks for the support. really very grateful to this forum.:)

Guys after flashing my trinity with FInixNOver 3.1.1Light ROM i cant open my messaging. it just doesn't do anything when i try to open it. i tried hard resetting and also flashing the ROM two times but its the same. pls help???:confused:
