This ROM is based in MARY 3.7.1. I was having some problems with my own ROM (another Build), and after talking with hellonasty he gave permission to use his ROM as a base for my work. So he has most of the credits in this ROM.

No error 608 - Now active sync works even with "Advanced Network Funcionality" disabled (see Start->Settings->System->USB to PC)
No loosing settings(password, e-mail,...) after SR - Thanks to ausdim
A2DP fix - Thanks to adewidt
Windows Media Player - Fixed skin and 3gp play and fullscreen mode
WkTasK - Added exception so the password cannot be overriden (if you try to minimize the password you'll only get a black screen, and will not be able to do anything else until you enter the password)
Long press on contacts to make a video call is now fixed

UC compliant - NewThe items with this color are common to both versions, the rest is only available in Normal version.

This ROM is now UC(User Customization) compliant. It means that you can install your cabs all at once after first boot. For this you only must have 2 things:

SDConfig.txt(with the path for cabs and xml you want to install) in Storage Card root;
Folder with the files included in the SDConfig.txtTo know more about this awesome feature check this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366337).
Even if you're not a UC addicted you'll find this feature very useful in restoring your Owner Information, Device Name, E-mail and WIFI settings, and many more using xml files. You'll find more instructions in the above thread, on how to retrieve those informations directly from your ROMs registry.

Now about Beam:
In WM6.1 the beam function works a bit different than in WM6, since Micro$oft decided to add another registry entry to control this function.

So we used to be able to enable/disable the beam function just by going to the Comm Manager or in the Settings. And what would this action do?
It would disable the ability for the device to receive files(by BT or IR), and the function enable/disable would be simultaneously changed in Settings->Beam and in Comm Manager.

Well, in WM6.1 the beam funtion was divided in 2 parts:

being the Obex service which enables files transfer and is controled by Setting->Beam
being the switch that alows your device to receive files which is controled by Comm Manager->BeamAnd what does this all mean?
It means that if one of these 2 parts of the function is Disabled, you'll not be able to receive files.
On the other hand, even if both parts of the functions are in deed disabled, you'll still be able to send files.
However, I recomend that the obex service is always Enabled(best for file transfers), meaning that in Settings->Beam, the box "receive all incoming beams" must always be checked, and you can Enable/Disable receiving files by changing the Beam setting in Comm Manager.

This is my understanding of how it currently works, according to what I've read about so far. I may not be 100% correct, and feel free to correct me if i'm not, but one thing is for sure, to be able to receive files, you need both parts of the function enabled.

I'm counting on all of you(as always) to give me some feedback.

At this time only normal version will be released. When all fixes are confirmed, I'll release final versions for both normal and lite ROMs.

I don't know why this happens to you, since i've tried synchronizing my device in at least 3 different computers and all worked.
All running Windows XP Professional SP2 and Active Sync 4.5.0 (build 5096).:confused:

Same here .... error 608 when I don't check "advanced network functionality" in "USB to PC" or sync by Bluetooth. Both use a COM to USB mapping instead of RNDIS.

I can't understand things like this!!! Just made another test to be 110% sure, and my BT is working like a charm!!! I sent a 5Mb file from my Samsung SGH-Z230 to my Trinity and the transfer went smooth, and at good speed.

Maybe these users pack up their devices with so many stuff that they end up having problems. I can't say this is true, but I can't see another explanation for this, because if everything else goes well (the flashing process, booting up, ...), there has to be something else messing it up!

I'm sorry, I don't mean to disrespect anyone, but really, there must be something else messing your devices. Have you tried making some tests before instaling your 3rd party apps?
Maybe you should do it, and if it works, install your programs one by one, and test again between instalations to see which one is causing the problem.

This can happen since in this ROM, the SMS and MMS folder are just one. i had a similar problem, when i restored my PIM data, i lost my MMS, but other than that, it's working.
I prefer having just one folder for both SMS and MMS.
If you want the folders to be separate you should try Arcsoft MMS 4.2.8.1

it may be a common problem I allready found in Mary's latest....everyone having BT receiving problem, try to check Beam in Start/Settings/Beam menu multiple times, also do that in Comm Manager, once you manage to receive files do not play with Beam anymore, leaving it on doesn't consume more power so just let it on...

I'll test this ROM soon so I'll give some feedback, with Mary's ROM I couldn't send large files (~10MB) to desktop, will check this one...

Just a shot in the dark, but what version of Radio are you using? If you don't have it yet, maybe try 1.50.08.11? That's what I'm using, and no problems with Bluetooth or ActiveSync at all. (WinXP or Vista)

Guess it could also be some small differences in hardware? Maybe different chips were used at different times? Because it is strange how different people are having different problems with the same exact ROM flash.

I'm from Brazil, portuguese speaker, and have tried some European Portuguese ROMs, good ones.

Fact is the translation is a little different and I got some issues due to folder translations in some applications like Skype.

What would I need to put up a translation? I don't have developer skills (not in this life anyway :rolleyes: )

What files should be translated? Is it possible for me to put up translations on your ROM, change some the office version, keyboard layout and get it working without C, Assembler or some other low level language work?

Sorry dude, but in ROM of China New year, and Mary 3.7 and 3.7.1, i'm having error 608 with ActiveSync which i could not sync.
With others ROM, i'm having connection loss, but if i disable "Enable Advanced Network", then it doesn't work anymore.

I have got PDAVIET ROM now, it is working like a charm, i don't have any more trouble, i have just disabled the option "Enable Advanced Network" and its ok...

No clue why its happen on some ROM only, but they are not only one, i'm in that case too...

So FinixOver if your ActiveSync is working like a charm i'm glad to hear that for you, no doubt you did good job but since i'm having huge problem of connections with Mary ROM and your ROM is based on it... I think it will be loosing time to test it.

My ROM RADIO is the last.
And i've got a TRINITY.
Before the last i had 1.46, i have updated to hopefully try to solve this issue but this doesn't change anything.

I tried also uninstalling ActiveSync from PC, reset all parameters, even HARDRESET my Trinity... but no way... It is still bugged.
I tried Mary ROM 3.7 and 3.7.1 => same issue both.

This got my USB ActiveSync working using Win XP2 with this Rom base and may therefore work for you as well. Worth a try!

any tips on how to disable sms sendt notification? i see the reg.edit is already in place. any settings for this?

If you mean delivery report, there's no need to use regedit to disable sms sent notification. Just go to Messaging ->Menu->Tools->Options...
Tap "* SMS \MMS"
There you have 2 options, and the one you want to disable is "Request delivery notification" - just uncheck this option.
If you mean "Message Sent" popup, then open regedit and do as follows:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox\Settin gs
"SMSNoSentMsg"=Dword:1

To do this, click on "Settings" (make sure the Settings is highlighted) and select New, Dword Value. On "Name", type in SMSNoSentMsg and in "Value", type in 1
Soft reset your device and test it with one SMS, and you will notice that the "Message sent" no longer pops up.

Once again I ask of you to use search, or google advanced search (http://www.google.com/advanced_search?q=+site:http://forum.xda-developers.com&hl=en&lr=&as_qdr=all) before you ask, as most of these questions have already been answered somewhere on these forums.


About Bluetooth(not being able to receive files) and Active Sync(error 608):
I still haven't found a definitive answer to this subject, I just want everyone to know that I've tested with 3 diferent Radio ROMs and it works with all 3. The Radio ROMs i tested are:

I've sync'ed twice, no problems. It must be some other thing. (Did no try the BTH yet.)

it is weird. i had tried all mary's room and previous FInixNOverincluding this one. activesync 4.5 + winxp sp2 having no problem at all. even the BT issue that requires the fix patch does not occurs in this rom, except the usual A2DP skipping (will try the fix and comment). overall, it is a superb rom, well done, FInixNOver!

it very unfortunately the activesync problem still persist after hard reset, reflash. I managed to sync with bluetooth. Also tried delete all previous sync configuration from my PC.

Just that with USB nothing works. I am using XP +SP2 with active sync 4.5.
I wander if there is anything different between Dopod D810 and HTC P3600 that make the activesync does not work.

Below is the procedure i follow to flash this rom:
1. hard reset my previous rom
2. flash the new rom
3. test out the sync with clean new rom ( sync does not work)
4. hard reset the new rom again, and test it still not working.

I know how this happen and I can reproduce that. I know is bad heard that things we have made, don't work as we expected but in this case I have tried bluetooh before install something from my own. You have done a great work and I 'love' your ROM...

To reproduce this error you can try this:1- Menu Start/Settings/Connections/Bean
here you activate "all incoming beams"

2- go to your "Comm Manager"
here you deactivate the "Bean communications"

NOTE: Now you can see that deactivating/activating the bean in Comm Manager don't affect the "check box" in Settings/Connection/Bean (and vice-versa)

OK, to works for me I have needed to have both Bean activated (Comm Manager and Settings/Connections/Bean)

it very unfortunately the activesync problem still persist after hard reset, reflash. I managed to sync with bluetooth. Also tried delete all previous sync configuration from my PC.

Just that with USB nothing works. I am using XP +SP2 with active sync 4.5.
I wander if there is anything different between Dopod D810 and HTC P3600 that make the activesync does not work.

Below is the procedure i follow to flash this rom:
1. hard reset my previous rom
2. flash the new rom
3. test out the sync with clean new rom ( sync does not work)
4. hard reset the new rom again, and test it still not working.

I have some problems in my tests and with other PC (at my work) with the windows xp + sp2 + activesync 4.5. All problems was because in my firewall, don't have 'checked' the 4 exceptions for activesync. Now is all working OK...

This is true, but even if the ROM isn't naked you can do this the same way.

- Lighter phone

Thanks for the advise for the firewall. I have all the exception checked and still could not get it to work. I have just flashed the PDAVIET to test it out and it is working fine, immediately finished flashing the rom.

I have founded out that the NET version used in the PDAVIET is 2.0.xx and the this rom is v3.5.

Finixover, is it possible to have a clean rom without any applications(just office)?

I'm using this ROM for 1 day now.

So far no connection issue with active sync

Connected to laptop from 8:30 to 12:30 continuous with no problem at all!!
XP SP2 + AS 4.5 (build 5096)

As I said in other post, in my laptop I've never had problems with AS, but in my home desktop it disconnect after 5minutes or something, in every single ROM's.
So obviously is something with my desktop settings.
Not checked with this ROM yet though.

What we are seeking in Lite version is FREEDOM. We don't like our phone bundled with unnecessary applications. So we want to choose what to install.

We are all pretty lame here so please keep your thoughts to yourself.

WIFI works fine, but please check that under settings\connections\WIFI the default networks to access are: "access points only" which is fifferent from WM6 previous ROMS. It needs to be changed manually into "all available networks".

If you check better, you'll see that when you tap and hold a contact you'll get the options to:
-Call Work
-Call Home
-Call Mobile
-Send E-mail
-Send Text Message
and also
-Send MMS
-Video Call
as long as your contact has these informations available(i mean, if you include these informations when you create the contact or add them later), if that's not the case, something must have gone wrong during the flashing process; or you need an Hard Reset or a Soft Reset; or you may need so restore your contacts information; or some additional sofware may be causing the problem.

Maybe you should try an Hard Reset, but before that you can try your SIM card on another phone just to make sure.

I certainly thank you very much for your great work, I had a small problem with the SMS, when I send an SMS, I will found a copy of this SMS in sent folder and the same copy in Inbox folder. If I delete from Inbox, it automatecly deleted from Sent folder.

my first few hours with it is totally disappointing. Not to say your rom isnt good, i sincerely thank you for your hard work on this ROM. but here is what i experience so far.

- After sync with activesync, i found my trinity respond is very very slow; as if the RAM is totally used up. but when i check my memory status, i have 25mb free. and i did not run anything or install anything.

- a softreset later, the phone regain its speed and it works like a charm. So i proceed with installing Garmin into my PDA. Installation went well and i able to open the app. After testing, i closed the app and proceed with other apps. after a while when i try to open back garmin, it just stay there at the garmin splash screen, doing nothing. maybe the 1st problem came back, so may take longer time to load, so i left it alone to load the program, but after 30 mins, it still showing the splashscreen. funny thing is my trinity isnt totally hanged, i still able to terminate it(garmin).

- Again, softreset required. So i forget about garmin, and proceed to install my PCM keyboard. After installation again, i tried sms and the result is good. but when i open PIE for 3g surfing, IE just hanged there like garmin, doing nothing. Even i terminate the program, the icon still there. and again the 1st problem occured again.

- now i reinstall the ROM again, and again the 1st problem came back.

i am not sure is it my PDA has this problem only?

except for the cons above, i kindda like this rom for few reasons:

Maybe so, but you still would need the maps for it, which will be different for many users (according to the country they live in), and also bc it's takes ROM space when this is a program that can be installed in the storage card only once, and will be available for every ROM without having to install it again (just need to create a shortcut to it in Start->Porgrams folder)

About the SMS, this happens because in WM6.1 the SMS are threaded so you can follow the conversation (similar to pocketCM) without having to switch between sent items and inbox.

The only problem is the losing passwords but I don't care as I don't soft reset as often as before.

Yes, i understand that you cant test all the software to ensure the compatibility. but that is not the problem i concern. the main concern previously is that the lagginess of it. Maybe what you is true, that the process of deleting temp files causing the problem that i faced. After i reinstall again the ROM, this time i will not install anything yet to ensure it is totally okay.

as for the activesync, i have no problem syncing it if i enable the advance network. and furthermore, i am not using window's firewall, so disabling my router's firewall doesn's sound too good to me. oh yeah, about the active sync, i encounter something pretty interesting. It couldnt sync but it could connect. it shows me some number error starting with 8xxxxx (i dunno). I tried restart the PC and still the same. Then i delete my partnership and reconnect it, and it able to sync back.

I find WM6.1 is very interesting. very very interesting.

just to confirm, my bluetooth is working and i dun use A2DP so i didnt test. but i receive a 2mb file no prob from a prophet and pairing with my BTheadset is good.

So I put to my Trinity the new rom , and the memory for programs are between 9 mega to 22 mega ( the storage is big ... ). Is it normally ? The machine is too slow , for example the TCPMP is freezing ( blocking pictures and no sound ) . Has anybody any solution for more program-memory and less for storage ? 2. Open a registry editor, I use Reso Regsitry Editor
3. Goto HKLM\Software\Microsoft\.NETCompactFramework (this is usually the first entry)
4. When you open this you'll see all the .NET installed version change the DWORD value of 2.0.7045.00 from 1 to 0
5. Change ethe DWORD value of 3.5.7283.00 from 0 to 1.
6. Press power to enter the standby mode (wait 15 sec and then proceed to the next step)
7. Press reset
8. Viola! you have a faster PPC

I have been using this Rom for some days and it really is a great work.
Super fast and with the best apps already installed.

The only thing i have added to the Rom was TomTom and Windows Live, but i really am happy to install this by myself, cause if an update comes out i can just unninstal and update the app without any problems.

I found two busgs and found workarouds:
1st - active sync could connect but wasn't able to sync my device... I have Zone alarm and the workaround is to turn off the firewall and the router. Active synk works like a charm in this conditions

2nd - When i first openned W. Media Player i went to options, and in the skins tab i found two skins. Did not aplly any but when i come out of the options menu the media player is black, no buttons, nothing.
I saw in this thread you could resolve this by copying all the wmp_* files from the Windows directory to the Program files/Windows media player directory.
This didn't work for me, it only made the device lagish and it would freeze everything if i opened media player.
So i went to the Program files/Windows media player directory and erased every file in there.
Now media player is working ok, no lag what so ever...

For me with this Rom everything is working now...
I just love the way it looks and the way the device is running is astonishing. Super fast.

Firstly let me say this is an excellent rom and i've very happy with it. However I am having 2 problems:

1: I can not made a bluetooth connect to my laptop. It prompt for the passcode but display an error straight away.

2: I'm having problem connecting to my home wireless router. The encryption is set to WPA2. After entering my passkey it start connecting but never actually connects.

I have noticed that with other ROMs (even with WM5).

I do not know really the origin.
I think this happens when there is communication problem between SD and PDA , and your PDA have to write something in the SD which does not exist... Than it creates a new folder.
When the connection is restored again, it is renamed then "storage card2"... as "storage card" already exist

Anyway, the solution is:
Remove your storage Card from your device.
Delete "storage card" folder
than replace again your storage Card in the device

The 3.0.2 color where beter, this green is strange, I'm not a fun, I'de prefer the good old orange and black.
Although I recognize the work, He must have massed up his brain cells around photoshop to come up with that skin.

It's nice but green is not my type, green and black dont go along to well, perhaps the gold, orrange black like the :D 3.0.2 I love that skin:cool:

I haven't included it bc i believe there are better alternatives to it, and since i don't use it... ;)

- When setting the main password, after going back from standby, the device asks for the passcode, but it could be avoided just clicking in the top bar or closing the window. After that, the device can be operated without authentication.

- Some words are overwritten in the top main menu.

- Network error 608 just appears (in my environment) when disabling "Enable advanced network functionality".

But I have the same problem. In fact, I had tried to reinstall my Activesync4.5, and reboot my IBM notebook. Rebooted my PDA, and still having the USB connection problem (Error 608). I had tried flashing 3 times already.

My device: dopod d810, WM6.

Maybe you can share with us on what is your device configuration before you flash the ROM.

Fantastic job on this ROM... fast, stable and great set of features. Currently running it stock with S2U2!

The only thing is what other people have already mentioned... please could you make a theme pack with a small selection of colours? (Dark greyscale, Pale Blue, Red, Orange, Green [perfect as it is!] & Yellow). This would make the ROM complete.

I know vnc but i also need a non-installation-sever-needed software and since every xp pro or w2003 server had terminal server preinstalled is the best choice if you can't access fisically to the "server".

thanks finix, I love your rom's, just one question, I never expirienced this "loosing settings" problem, can you explain a bit more what may be the problem? I hope this fix will not go in expanse of using some old or outdated methods...

I never had the problem myself, I even made a couple of tests involving setting the password and removing the battery after, setting the password and soft reseting the device with stylus, setting password and soft reseting by software, and in all situations the password was NOT lost.
But for better compatibility I decided to use the old NK.exe (XIP related) from ausdim (thanks BTW), but still, I will need beta testing from the users who were having these problems.

Yes I remember, and sorry for not answering(I guess i forgot to answer :rolleyes: ), but I've not yet included that, I can do it in the final version.
But I don't think the improvements in those programs are that big, that would make this very urgent ;)
About the languages, you can add them yourself. Just download the addicional languages and add the files for your language(2 files for each language) to Windows folder.

First of all:
This is an international forum, and English is the universal language so that most users can follow what's going on in the pocket pc world.
So I ask of you that, whenever you write something in your home language, please translate it to English, so everyone can know what you are saying, which sometimes can be really important.
If you don't have the skills to translate, please use Private Messages instead, and if the message is relevant for the rest of the comunity, I'll post the translation in the thread.

About your problems.
Do you use the default keyboard to input text for your SMS? Because in this keyboard the dictionary is WWE and the suggested words are english, so if you are writing with predictive text in Portuguese, you're probably using some other input method like HTC PhonePad with T9 set to Portuguese.
I need more information on this issue, to be able to know why your device pops out of the message without saving.
Regarding your issues of not being able to change Messaging options and Solitaire options, there must be something wrong happening in your device because all funtions are working here. If you have installed some software, please make sure you SR your device. If this doesn't work for you, please try Hard Reseting your device, and test these functions before installing additional software. Don't forget to backup your data.
Please, if you have backed up your system with apps like Sprite backup, SPB Backup(or something similar that includes system files) before upgrading to WM6.1, DO NOT restore your backup, because it's not compatible and it'll cause your system to malfunction.

FInixNOver 3.1.1(beta @ this point - users confirming fixes)

Major Fixes:
No error 608 - Now active sync works even with "Advanced Network Funcionality" disabled (see Start->Settings->System->USB to PC)
No loosing settings(password, e-mail,...) after SR - Thanks to ausdim
A2DP fix - Thanks to adewidt
Windows Media Player - Fixed skin and 3gp play and fullscreen mode
WkTasK - Added exception so the password cannot be overriden (if you try to minimize the password you'll only get a black screen, and will not be able to do anything else until you enter the password)
Some minor fixes and tweaksNow about Beam:
In WM6.1 the beam function works a bit different than in WM6, since Micro$oft decided to add another registry entry to control this function.

So we used to be able to enable/disable the beam function just by going to the Comm Manager or in the Settings. And what would this action do?
It would disable the ability for the device to receive files(by BT or IR), and the function enable/disable would be simultaneously changed in Settings->Beam and in Comm Manager.

Well, in WM6.1 the beam funtion was divided in 2 parts:
being the Obex service which enables files transfer and is controled by Setting->Beam
being the switch that alows your device to receive files which is controled by Comm Manager->BeamAnd what does this all mean?
It means that if one of these 2 parts of the function is Disabled, you'll not be able to receive files.
On the other hand, even if both parts of the functions are in deed disabled, you'll still be able to send files.
However, I recomend that the obex service is always Enabled(best for file transfers), meaning that in Settings->Beam, the box "receive all incoming beams" must always be checked, and you can Enable/Disable receiving files by changing the Beam setting in Comm Manager.

This is my understanding of how it currently works, according to what I've read about so far. I may not be 100% correct, and feel free to correct me if i'm not, but one thing is for sure, to be able to receive files, you need both parts of the function enabled.

I'm counting on all of you(as always) to give me some feedback.

At this time only normal version will be released. When all fixes are confirmed, I'll release final versions for both normal and lite ROMs.

I believe many users are having problems with restoring MMS caused by the merged SMS/MMS folder. I guess I'll go back to separate folders in final release. But I'd like the users opinion on this subject.
