up button unresponsive

I have a new tilt with the at&t rom on it still. The up button on the directional pad no longer responds. Every other button on the phone works fine. How can I tell if this is a hardware issue or if the button needs to be remapped?

Do a hard reset... if the problem is still there - It's hardware.
