I am experiencing and unusual problem and need some advice.

I live in Bali Indonesia and for the last month have been having a problem where my phone stops being able to send/recieve calls or SMSs for hours on end. Then all of sudden I receive a batch of SMS with times stamps over the last few hours. Folks have been informing me they have been trying to call me during these time frames are unable to get through.

What I just found out is that the jail here in Kerobokan has installed some sort of phone jammer that is interfering with the phone signals. My office is within 1,000 meters of the jail. All of my friends and colleagues that are using non HTC phones (Nokia, Samsung etc) are not having any problems so it is just Pocket PC enabled phones that are being affected.

Does anyone have a solution for this problem besides getting rid of my Dopod D810 (Not an option!)?????

Cheers,

Danny

Your phone is 3G, plus it can use Quadband GSM.
Have you tried disabling 3G while you're at that location and just running on GSM?
