If you want mediaplayer skin to be vistalike, use attached files:


To use this skin just drag the Folder poorlyduck's vista media Player skin to
\program Files\windows Media Player\ open media player and go to Menu>Options then
choose the skin tab and wait for the skins to load and press next to pick the vista
skin, do the same thing when you are in landscape mode.

Installing it right now =).
If you have time try creating something that can be used by fingers only (without stylus). I always use icontact and slide2unlock. For me these two progz with a finger frindly mediaplayer skin and qicklaunch buttons for Desktop would be the ideal rom. I hate using the stylus...

SOLVEDsmall bug guys, when i cooked the beta of this, I had some graphics open in photoshop, and somehow the bootscreen went blank, but just wait for the "beep" from the device after booting up, then press the stylus (or finger) then u will see the alligning screen....

I will up a fixed one a bit later. But please test it anyway :)SOLVED

wm6.1 acts diffrent with themes on flash, I have not had the time to set it up properly. Use my theme or any of your liking

Haven't tested yet, but the looks is excellent, a refreshing look after all the Touch-IT black!!

Definately on my want list, unfortunately since it's my primary work phone i'll wait flashing till the small bugs are ironed out...

you can not have testet the second, cause thats the bugs from the first rom, none of them are present in second...errr, well not true :) there is no MMS, cause there is no sollution as I know of to the issues with wm6.1 and mms with herald. but then again, I have not been catching up latly, so it might be a sollution right in fron of my nose :D

You may want to check with ivan. I think he may have solved the mms issue.

I actually had a quick question, i downloaded it and flashed my phone, but I have no idea how to get touch-flo to work, I went to start>Programs>Touchflo>TFSetting
and I switched it to TF deafult v4.1 and reset but nothing, and than I noticed on the
start>programs screen there is something calledTouchFlo down at the bottom of the list but when I click on it it says
"the file "TouchSettings" cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate,or one of its components cannot be found, if the problem prosists, try reinstalling or restoring this file."
So What exactly am I supposed to do? I reinstalled it like 3 times.

I installed the SoftKey applet and Google Maps, then I wanted to sent an SMS message to someone, and noticed I didn't have the option.

Edit: I seem to have fixed it. in the Advanced Config I went to Menu>Connection Settings, set "T-Mobile MMS" to "Always On". then I reset the phone, and my SMS messaging came back.

So far the only "bug" that I have found on this awsome rom is the fact that the weather tab of Home Plugin only updates the weather for the default cities... with the custom one's I get:

"Unable to retrive data for selected citie. Select here to retry."

Maybe htchome.dll is the one without the weather patch?

I know why I cannot sync with RNDIS (advanced usb), I messed it up a few times to get rid of it on my laptop. It does disrupt my network connections. basicaly it created a new network card to the phone to have faster transfers, but this messed up my vpn resulting in vpn disconnects when I unplugged the phone. I was running normal serial usb since and am happy with it (the speed is ok for my needs).

However since the RNDIS vs VPN conflict, I have to use serial usb (which you cannot switch to as you discovered yourself). this means any rom failing to suppor serial usb is not acceptable for me.

so much for explanation. I tried to export the usb reg setting from a 6.0 rom and import it into 6.1, but that did not work.

If you manage to fix it in a future 6.1 rom, I'll be the happiest user. until then it does not work for me.

If I sounded rude before, I appologize (sp?), but I think you misunderstood my problem. You could have tested it and get to the same result as I did (I described the error in my initial post).

so keep up the good work on the roms, they are excelent (and I'll be watching and testing any future versions).

When I put that package together, I had to use the freeware version of the software for obvious reasons. While I certainly do apologize for that ugly splash screen, there is nothing that can be done about it while using the freeware version... if its THAT big of a deal to you, go out and get the full version.

use schens advanced, there is an option there to enable gestures and zoom.

this is a wm6.1 feature, and I dont think I can add a package with ie from6.0 without bugs, besides, I like the new version and I see no reason to downgrade.

o man that woulda been better than what I did, I just installed the cameraalbum cab to over write some settings.

That flipped the scrren right orientation, when the wing is clearly left. But i used the default rom shortcut and it turns the right way.

so I deleted the cabs shortcut to not get confused.

I got a problem, the installation doesnt go past 3% and then my phone just restarts.I get this message on the PC installer "The image file is corrupted. Please check your update utility". I'm on a Wing and I've tried both files posted (with cube and w/o) :(

unchecking advanced networking in USB to PC dialog works and also activesync works. So I am now wondering what's wrong with the vista rom.

dont place the phone in bootloader. just run the ruu. your phone will reboot and go into bootloader. you should be good from that point. Hope this helps

i got the same error but if your go into the programs folder and into the TouchFlo folder you can edit the settings from there. hope this helps you out.

dont place the phone in bootloader. just run the ruu. your phone will reboot and go into bootloader. you should be good from that point. Hope this helps

I tried both ways a couple different times and on different machines (Vista & XP). First with just running the RUU, the installation starts automatically puts my phone in bootloader, then begins to install. The installation halts at 3% and restarts my phone. I get a error 270 message saying the image file is corrupted. If I start it automatically in bootloader and start the installation the same error message appears. I flashed it to SPL 4.10.0000. I don't know what I could be doing wrong. I installed the Touch It 2.3 Beta twice now with no problems.

I got a question about this rom, on most of the other roms I have used including the stock one to lock the device I would use the end call button this doesn't seem to work with this rom.
I have searched both xda and google to try to find a way to enable this but I can't find it. Does anyone know how to enable this function?

So I read through the forum and noticed that others had the same problem of not being able to connect their phone and computer through a usb connection. I am using Windows Vista on my laptop and use Windows Device Mobile Center in order to sync up phone. I cant get my contacts off my laptop and I was also using hotmail as a backup for my contacts, but cant get those either.

The other problem is that I used to be able to add my hotmail account to my phone, however after putting this new rom on my phone, when I try adding a new email account, it doesnt allow me to add my hotmail account. I enter my email addy and password and then it shows a window that says:

"Select the link below to access your Windows Live Hotmail Account. http://windowsmobile.com/emailsetuplive"

When I click on the link, it takes me to the Windows Mobile Live site and I have to enter my log in info again and can get my email on the webpage, but I would like to access it on my phone. Any suggestions on how to get my messages back on my phone?

i had issues so i reflashed and the same issues are still there... here is some of what i found....

advanced config can not be opened
no mms setting or options anywhere
tsk files are listed in settings, but none of them show a background image
dialer pad does not apper only lettering for connected and last call show
settings has listing for htc home but htc home does not apper on main screen
can not open com manager
random access in contacts does not apper
audio manager graphics glitch out, can't be used...

hopefully this give u an idea of my testing lol

I'm up and haven't flashed in a few days So ill test this rom and make a quickie on how I installed it. But I am sure it should be pretty much straight forward. Make sure you have HardSPL if not then you aren't getting this installed mate .

Ok ... I have installed it ...... Let me see if I can make the simple even simpler as itje always does great work.

1.) Backup all data. Since you are a noob use ActiveSync to do this. Make sure you are connected thru ActiveSync. Goto tools > Options. Make sure all boxes are checked that you want saved to your machine ...

2.) Make sure you have HardSPL installed. If not you need to do so go here.

3.) Download file from link in 1st post. ( I used cube version with MMS )

Download:

4.) Extract on your computer for easy access. ( I hope you know how to do that part.)

5.) Open the folder named "Touch-IT Vista-Cube"

6.) Run file named "ROMUpdateUtility"

7.) The rest is just follow the on screen directions.

I hope this solves all of your issues and it works for you . You seen the time of my first post and the time I wrote this. So its not a hard thing to do . And I made myself some food and ate in this time as well.

Ok here goes my playing with the rom .....

MMS ....... Works flawlessly and is quiet responsive.

WIFI ....... Perfect out the box

Bluetooth .. Sweet as a candy bar

AdvanceConfig .... Beautiful addition .... Where has it been all these days.

Camera ... Flawless

Audio Manager .. No complaints ...

Touch n Flo .. has minor bugs . I don't see the cube working but once by accident and I cant seem to repeat the accident.

Internet Sharing ...... I cant test as I don't use it at all ...

MediaPlayer ..... Needs to be thrown in the garbage as it plays none of my videos in my phone. But who cares as I don't use it much, I can add a player.



BUGS...... I noticed if you turn on animate windows and menus phone locks up very easily. Almost had to re-flash until I noticed screen pops an outline of an box.. Have patience wait a while and then you will be able to hit start with out the phone locking on you. As I already said cube isn't doing what its suppose to. icon for TouchFlo needs to be deleted as it goes nowhere. you can access from TouchFlo Folder.
I have noticed that this rom has a minor conflict with S2U2. When the phone is locked and you receive SMS/MMS it locks for a few moments or the screen has black boxes on it. Not sure if anyone else has added this so maybe i'm alone with it. Also I notice when you goto Start > Settings before you can click anything else you get a beep sound when pressing for 2 or 3 presses then all is back to normal.
Ok 1 more point i may add its 5:26pm here in nyc. The little windows icon that pops up in the center of the screen which normally means you are doing a process pops up constantly . Not sure if thats a bug but its a bother.



OverALL ..... Beautiful smooth running rom . MMS which is a biggie to me is extremely impressive I have to say the smoothest running version from a rom to my knowledge. I love the free space which is always appreciated.

Sorry my friend I have not seen this and i have sent 100's of MMS since install. What phone do you have ? What else have you added to the rom like programs, tweaks , apps or anything else. Maybe something you added is conflicting. If you want i can send you MMS and you can tell me if you hear the audio or you cn send 1 you have received so i can see if it has sound.

Oh the previous ROM (actually Touch-IT 4.4) by itje, there was a ROM Settings by Tom Codon, if I may, where would be a good place to download this? The reason I ask is I want to disable the alphabet scrolling on the right. I forget what it's called, is there a reg edit I can make that would do the same to disable it?

I have turned on the alpha search at the top and it does "hide" it, but my Contacts do take twice as long to open and before when I picked the regular contact list in the ROM settings with T-IT4.4 the contacts would open immediately.

Many reasons mate . 1st have you HardSPL ? maybe you downloaded a bad file , maybe bad connectivity.

I just wanted to say thanks to itje for all of the hard work on this ROM.

This is my first time posting and also my first time flashing. After reading and reading I think I have learned enough to join the party. I tried doing the HardSPL method and after three failures I moved to the USPL method. Success on the first try.

I installed the cubeless version on the T-Mobile Wing. The only two issues I have encountered thus far are:

The X-button did not work consistently, had to use the hardware button. Installing the HTC X-Button CAB resolved this.
Unable to activate TouchFlo. I get the following error:
The file 'Biotouch' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file. I have done some looking around but have not found a fix for it yet. Is there a tread somewhere that I missed discussing this?

Other than the two items this is a very nice rom, thank you again itje.

The main programs that I installed were IM+, PCM, ThumbCal and some others.


The problem with the X-button was that it wasn't properly alligned--anytime I tried to press the button, it would press the bottom right soft key, or whatever was in that spot....

Check my sig mate, i have cabs for Office and Java that are the same from 4.4 :)

I was in the same boat as you and went ahead (black isn't really my color) and flashed this ROM.

It's pretty awesome. I had to install x-button too btw. And it needs an updated htc task manager (been using battery status for that) Sometimes Java won't showup in the tm and sometime Phone will. Quiting the Phone app caused bt headset to stop working until reset.

You're really missing out :-) I'm not sure much will change in the final, maybe getting a newer HTC Taskmanager in there... Not necessarily 2.0.

The biggest glitches are mainly due to the BSext Beta in there (my opinion). If you disable that it should behave smoother (or run a more stable version).

Also I found Poorlyduck's original Vista thread and discovered that his Spbcalc_L/P.gifs were different. Actually he has PNGs in his, I went ahead and made them into gifs and attached them to this message in case anyone wants to overwrite the current one's images (in the Windows dir)

I am not sure what you mean, but the flash works fine... go through the steps and it updates the ROM on the phone. after flashing I do the setup, then the automatic installs run on first boot, then it reboots and I set it for T-mobile usa then msg a friend to send me an mms with audio, the msg comes through fine... I see the image and the player is playing but no audio, i look at contents of the msg and can see the audio file.

In this case it is an amr file, I also tried saving the amr to my device and opening it... when I do this WMP errors with "The source filter for this file could not be loaded."

When I flashed, the gifs that were there the "lcd" part of the calculator was way dark, hard to see the numbers on medium brightness. Found Poorlyduck's Vista suite (he made all the Vista theming) and his "lcd" on the calculator was much bluer. Therefore, I just converted his pngs to gifs (didn't try his pngs) and overwrote the ROM's gifs. A lot better to see actual numbers for calculating.

I say use the rom of your choice mate. And yes I agree this is a sweet rom . And your over-clock is fine as long as your phone doesn't crash.

I also noted that I cannot set RNDIS to use serial. Which I'd like to have........

After hard-reset, not yet connected to PC, I try to uncheck advanced network functionality (First thing I do).

Comes up with 'unable to set RNDIS to use serial'.

I believe you can just install MMS over if you like. I believe once its together in a rom its that way unless you install a different version.

Ill be gentle since you asked .....
step 1.) read HardSPL . I eve n added a tutorial there to help people
step 2.) download this rom .
step 3.) flash it .

Now you maybe new but you will have to read a bit .. if you follow exactly as you read in the HardSPL you wont brick your phone. . READ whole thread before starting anything.

I too seen that problem with displaying phone number instead of name . But I noticed after a few soft resets it becomes normal again.

Very odd. My phone's been through plenty of soft resets since then but I'll keep an eye on it to see if it ever goes back to normal. Hopefully the OP has noticed this as well.

I've come across a similar problem, not with Total Commander though it was a problem with Battery Status when overclocking to 299 the device would work fine for an hr or 2 and then it would lock up I soft reset and all seemed fine until my phone booted up and I realized I had no sound! I had to hard reset, soft resetting numerous times left me with the same problem.... After a hard reset and overclocking to 286 fixed the problem, Mayb the same will work for you

i love this ROM! I got everything working, but have a quick question. In this rom, when writing a txt, the editable box is about half the screen, in the other touch it rom i used it was about 2 rows tall.. is there anyway to change this? Thanks.

I just got my Wing a few days ago (upgrade from a Dash aka Excalibur). I tried several ROMs prior to this one. I am in love!

By far, the best one I have seen!

Only question I have now is, when "scrolling" through the phonebook, it seems very touchy on hitting it just the right way. Is there a specific area I am supposed to swipe? Not talking about going through letters, but the "flicking" action if that makes a damned bit of sense

I have not see n that issue but which phone are you using mate ? And exactly what have you installed ?

i don't think that's a prob caused by s2u2... what version of it are you using?

did you activate battery status' task manager... you might accidentally be resetting from that... or the ROM installation was probably corrupted.. you might want to redownload the ROM and do a clean install.

About TouchFlo. Works great for me. What I did is:
(1) set View mode to "Top to bottom" in TFSettings,
(2) Just save in TouchSettings

After restart I used Stylus to practice, and when I learned with stylus, I started to use top of the nail - this is not iPhone screen...

Put your nail on the top of the screen, and move it to the bottom, TouchFlo will pop-up, now use it (move finger) from left to right to scroll through cube...
