I'm a bit lost here. I have a bit of experience with the htc wizard and upgrading but I have a bit of a situation.

My mother owns a Kaiser and recently dropped it in the toilet. No problem so far except now it boots, says something about the main battery being low (even after charging overnight), and powers off. If it is plugged into the power adapter it won't get past the at&t boot screen, won't even get to the version numbers. I can boot it, and when I get to the version numbers I plug it in and it boots fully but it still won't stay on for more than a minute.

She really needs her calendar information off of it so I was wondering if there was a was to lock the phone in a mounted mode or removable storage mode. Really, anything that can help me in this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all for your time.

Sincerely,
Sharpiemarker

I reposted this in the upgrading forum because I was unsure which to post it in. If one needs deleted please feel free and I apologize for the inconvenience.

"My mother did it", lol...

There are ways to go into safe mode, but most of them aren't like the safe mode your'e used to with a pc. The PPC safe modes really just stop auto start programs, etc.

All the modes (BL, OEMSBL, Diagnostic, etc.) require power to be functional & more than a minute of it.

You're best bet would have been to never try to turn it on, take apart what you can, & let it dry in a very low humidity environment for about a week. After wetting a device everytime you turn it on, especially with it plugged in, you just increase the chances that a water caused short will completely short circuit & fry components. Diagnostic modes can be used for dumping various section of the radio & rom, but most user info is only stored either in the sim or in a pim volume. I'm pretty certain that cannot be recovered with any type of diagnostic or OEMSBL dump.

Well unfortunately her contacts were not saved to the sim card (if that is the sim volume you're referring to) and I've let it dry for three days now to no avail. Any thoughts?

Does it stay on while plugged in? ActiveSync over bluetooth if you can get it on... or try charging with USB cable.

No dice. Still gives me the battery error while plugged into power or usb.

Maybe the battery is dead? I guess you should see if you can try to test it with someone else's battery.
