Schap's Advanced Config, Launch Key mapping and map any key to anything you want.

I can't find it in there. I see where i can choose which buttons to show (i.e. Beam, ActiveSync, etc.) but no where to change what the button actually does.

I hope this hasn't been covered because i have searched quite a bit. I flashed my bf's tilt with this rom and he's not able to send a text message by selecting the contact from the contact list (or typing in their name from the home screen) and then choosing "send text message". It just sits there an does nothing. He can send fine by going into sms/mms and typing in the contact's name in the To: field. Anyone else have this problem? It works fine on my tilt with Dutty's first 6.1 ROM, and we have pretty much all the same programs installed, and almost the same number of contacts. I haven't tried hard resetting yet because i spent all night reinstalling everything, but i did hard reset (twice) immediately after flashing. Everything else is working great and this rom is ridiculously fast :eek:

Ok i just checked his and Internet Sharing is checked. It shows up but doesn't do anything. Dutty addressed this earlier in the thread and said its because its mapped to WMODEM instead on Internet Sharing, so i'm just wondering in theres a way to map it back. And for the record i'm not a girl :P

Has anyone had any serious radio issues with this rom? I'm using Dual Touch V6.

I've literally tried EVERY Radio out there, and I'm getting very poor reception in all areas. In areas I used to get full bars on EDGE (AT&T) I'm now getting 1-2 with almost all roms. In areas where I got full bars on 3G I'm also getting 1-2 bars.

Right now I'm on Niko's 1.58.16.27 because it was getting the best reception and quickest GPS lock.

Radio: 1.68.16.27
Protocol Version: 25.61.30.03W


Also to note, when I say I've tried ALL radio's, I'm not exaggerating. I've tried em all, went back to the stock AT&T ROM, every Niko ROM, etc, etc, etc. I would love to keep Dutty's ROM on here, however this is becoming a deal breaker. I don't use the phone for phone/SMS/MMS usage at all, only GPS & tethering.

If anyone has any suggestions, please fire away.

Did reboot, try to change the service number back and forth, move to another location ask the operator if they may have any issue, signal strength is on max.... nothing, still can’t send SMS. Don’t wanna flash again to older version, but looks like I gonna have to.



I heard there was a issue to get working the ArcSoft, so it may be that.

Is there a way to install older version of ArcSoft instead of 5.0?

Hard reset, SMS works, so it has to be the soft issue, any ideas?

Wiki Instructions does not work for threaded SMS:

"On dutty's, just go into the OEM folder and add the following:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Setting s\OEM\?SMSInboxThreadingDisabled DWORD = value set to 1."

I cannot upload this ROM to my Kaiser. When the upload process start, MS ActiveSync stopped. I have XP Pro SP2 on my desktop, ActiveSync 4.5.0 (Build 5096).

I like the threaded SMS, I think, but my apparent bug bear which I cant seem to resolve is that it shows the phone number on the list not the name of the send, when the names are in my contacts list already.

If I click or press the number being shown, it correctly opens my contact, but will not show the name in the text itself, only the number. Also doesnt show the name, when reviewing the list of texts received.

Also, given this, it then doesnt appear to pick the Caller Id picture that I have which normally relates to my contact.


Lastly, my MMS can receive fine, but goes totally haywire when I send. Keeps repeatedly trying to send and resend. Also doesnt seem to have an outbox anymore, so just goes loopy, cant delete the file its trying to send. Soft reset fixes it.

this was my idea:

1: datadisconnect.exe or flightmode ON
2: change band selection to GSM or 3g in registry
3: restart the radio or flightmode OFF

or maybe step 1 isn't necessary and step 3 is switch flightmode ON and OFF.

any C / C++ programmer here?!

No this ROM can not be flashed to your device. Even though NIKI radio's are compatible with Kaisers and vice versa. Might I suggest you flash the NIKI project ROM located here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=364335 I wish I could flash to this ROM.

no that's normal. If you don't like that you can disable it by going to your keyboard options.

You can also use kaiswerTweak to do this.

Start > Settings > Input > Word Completion

Uncheck "suggest words when entering text"

My previous problem with the e-mail showing that I had unread e-mails when I never has been resolved, I just forgot to hard reset the phone after flashing.

And also my keyboard problem has sorted itself out after hard resetting aswell so I am almost completely happy. It seems to be when one problem is solved another appears.

This one is to do with the touch keyboard. I know its not really the place to ask but I am a rebel and I will ask here anyways. What it is is that I can't get it to display as a qwerty multitap layout. Instead it always displays as a full keyboard with each letter with its own individual button.

Can anyone help?

KaiserTweak or AdvancedConfig should take care of it. Called sleep or fast sleep in both I believe.

Right you are... under AdvancedConfig, there are actually 2 parameters under 'Phone' -- Sleep During Call & Fast Sleep During Call.

A funny thing is, that I get a very strong signal with T-mobile but very weak one with ATT.??
I adjusted bands, installed multiple ROMs and radios. Some very slightly better than other, but I did not get the same signal as originally, plus when talking on the phone, I can hear it freezes up when I speak.

You can't compare two Services like that. You can't say if I stand here I get Great T-mobile Service but Bad AT&T Service.. Well No kidding They have towers in different locations probably have their directionality facing different.

Have you done a Hard Reset I forgot to once on a day binge of Flashing a couple ROMs and My Phone was sluggish even in the calls. Hard Reset all is smooth now.

I don't want to get off on an Electromagnetic and Radio Wave Symposium right now. But Different things can affect the signal. The issue with Wireless technology is You can't "trace the wire" and see that a staple is through the run here, and thats the issue. It could be a solar flare or Rain Clouds or a Street Sweepers Electro Engine that will mess up the Signal.

Are you forced to use AT$T, If you had better signal with T-Mobs.. Go with that if you can.

Go into AdvancedConfig. Menu -> Key Mapping

The first Line is the location of the Program. The Second Line Is What it will say (ie ActionScreen)

Good Question, You can get the Transcriber CAB from Duttys Cabs in his Links, or could check P1Tater or AllTheWays Downloads.

Make sure you turn off TouchFlo.

The One thing I don't know about is if it working In WM 6.1 I can't recall if I've heard that.

I'm trying to understand the logic behind calling it the ROM. Because its the RADIO that communicates with the Tower. And teh Radio Drivers are in the RADIO Only ROMs.

Second thing, maybe the Radio Hardware is borked and you need to have it Repaired.

Some of those Radios on your List are not WM 6.1 radios Not that it matters if you can Not have sound. Calls though still work for me with non-WM 6.1 Radios just don't have Speaker Sound.

There is definitely no harm in Flashing to Another ROM. But My gut tells me this won't help. :cool:

There is definitely no harm in Flashing to Another ROM. But My gut tells me this won't help. :cool:

The reason I say that is because this Kaiser worked perfectly until I flashed to WM6.1 and any of those radio's. I absolutely agree that it makes no sense that a ROM would affect Radio....however it does seem to be the case.

I should have time tomorrow night, so first I'll flash WM6 (AT&T build + Rom) and see, then I'll try 6.1 again.

I cant seem to get mobile youtube to work, or any mobile streaming video to work in the streaming player worth anything, once PIE opens up the HTC streaming player, it finds the network and sits at connecting forever. Ive checked all my connection settings and i'm sure i'm not running through a proxy and the player does not work over wifi or att 3g. Last time i've gotten the HTC palyer to work was with the 2.1 ver included with wizeman's SNE 2.5 rom so i doubt its some wierd problem with my phone.

In my case, yes i have and I also have TCPMP installed, though its youtube/video site navigation is horribly slow and does not always work due to the way it loads pages in their normal desktop version.

the HTC streaming media player still does not work with the flash bundle, TCPMP works but is annoying and huge pages load slow and are hard to navigate due to scroll lag on the huge pages.

I've been trying to update my ROM to Dutty's WM6.1 5.2.19716... when i get to the part where it begins it freezes then says communication error? I made sure everything was connected and active sync says connected... I tried another update and it works but im only having problems with this one. Any ideas?

You could update via SD-card. The info about how you do that is somewhere in this forum. It's actually quite simple. You just have to name the ROM-file to a specific name and then press some key-combination. HTH

OK, I decided to try reflashing the ROM last night and confirmed that this behaviour must be buried within the ROM. With a clean install (nothing else installed), the backlight dims after about 30 secs then goes out completely after about 1 min when in Phone mode. Disabling sleep and fast sleep in the Phone parameters of Advanced Config makes no difference.

I'm going to try removing Adv. Config and replacing it with Kaiser Tweak to see if it will alter the behaviour. I wonder if the 19199 version does this?

Update -- It seems that Adv. Config is not 'tweaking' the right spot in the registry, etc. when it comes to the Phone sleep mode. I installed the latest version of KaiserTweak and used it to disable the sleep and fastsleep options and it seems to have worked this time.

Did you flash a WM6.1 compatible radio? Try the one in my signature.

Ok, so i finally go some of these things working. I am now having two problem:

1 -My timezone keeps changing on its own. I have set it not to automatically update, but still happens.

2 - I have IGO installed, launches and all, havent tested the gps function on it, but for the life of me, and can get it to holds its time zone either. also, when i change it to EST time zone, the time is an hour ahead.

can anyone help??

i put this rom in my phone and i realized my camera doesnt work also, keys on the hard keyboard all works but when i press the FN button, some of the symbols do not match up with the keys, is there something i can install so my camera will work and a program to fix the keyboard problem?
