I'm currently using an unlocked AT&T Tilt (Kaiser) (400Mhz) with T-Mobile in the USA. It fine except for its bulk. Since I don't find the built-in keyboard that useful, I've been eyeing the more diminutive enhanced Touch GSM (Elfin).

I've actually tried the a CDMA Touch (400Mhz) and it has respectable performance, but due to the vagaries of the US market I will be forced to buy the Elfin (200Mhz) without testing it first.

My question is how much of a performance decrement will I experience. Are there any meaningful benchmarks? Does go half as fast?

I'm aware of the considerably more expensive Touch Cruise (400Mhz), but I'm trying not to be too tempted because I dont' need GPS.

Anyone know about relative performance of the 400Mhz vs. 200Mhz Touch models? Or have a better suggestion?

Thanks.

There aren't big difrent. I'm using the HTC Touch XL (128MB ROM/256MB RAM) with "Baterystatus" in 267Mhz, and I'm very satisfated.

If you don't need GPS, don't need big perfomance.

hell lets switch phones! (:p i've only got a normal touch)

i have my touch clocked at 283, and i've used 400mhz devices (not a 400mhz cmda elf tho), but it is the only one THING that bugs me.

Its an amazin phone, but all i want is a 400mhz processor (even if it doesn't have gps good camera keyboard flash etc..)

but yea, i dunno, i find the Touch CRAWLS.. - personal opinion!
