best rom, but i think u have to change the language setting to english for using it.

Default English is not a bad Idea. I am sure All chinese boys knows some English to switch between languages :).

Press Start button
Start settings (first icon)
press right arrow to get the second settings list
Press "5" button to start the regional settings
change the language in the first menu and press "Done" (still no English :))
Restart :)

Installing is pretty easy. I didn't know anything about what the DOSbox was spitting out so I tried to USPL beforehand. Instead, here's a quick reference of what to do before you start so you can just press enter all the time:

1) app unlock.
2) remove microSD.

Simple, then you can just press enter all the time.

Also, to get rid of the annoying text entry thing, press ALT + SPACE, then Down and Left to set Lang to EN, ALT-SPACE again, then Up, and select EN.

I haven't found a way to completely get rid of that picture of the D-Pad while you type. Suggestions?

Also, how can I change UCWEB to English? I'm curious as to how it performs compared to Opera. BTW, Great job, kavana!

This rom is without a dought the coolist rom yet, mobile 6.1... come on that is just the shite. O and as for the hole chineese thing it is way easy to change to english just follow the steps from the poste on page 2. who needs the shadow when you can have mobile 6.1... have not found one bad thing yet.......................O and smarttoolkit rc08 makes it even sweeter.:cool:

1. Even after changing the local to US English I'm still having Chinese characters displayed for AM in the clock in the bar at the top of the screen.

2. Trying to type anything only brings up a Chinese character input, it won't take the English characters.

3. System messages are still in Chinese.

4. In Settings Comm Manager is listed twice (not sure if that is something that can be fixed or not. Ultimately it's irrelevant.)

This is in accessories - USB Storage.
This program let you use the SD card in your phone like Device. Deactivate it for normal sync :).

Edit: Nevermind I found it is a setting you have to change in Windows Mobile Device Center

And before you ask - some tools are in Chinese and you can't do anything to change this.

Is anyone else getting the whiteline at the bottom of the screen? Going from the brightpoint rom to this one still gives me the line at the bottom. Kinda leaves me to believe its my phone.

i can't remember now what screen i was on where the AM was in chinese... but i know i saw it. LOL. will update if it's still there now that i picked the EN thing. maybe that did the trick.

think i may have found a "bug" - i used to do alt + cap if i wanted to type something in all caps. now that seems to change the T9 it chinese.

maybe NOT a bug though... could just be that 6.1 uses different key-combos or something?

This new 6.1 ROM is awesome, I got everything working like a charm. I even got bluetooth dun working and I also got microsoft voice command to tell me who is calling with in coming calls, yeah this new 6.1 ROM is truly nuclear, thanks Kavana, you the man.................!:D

the last item in the list when you select menu for a contact entry is still in chinese for me.

It seemed to be when when it was saying T9/Abc/abc etc. I don't think it is a problem any more since the updated build.

it's hella fast for me. not sure why it's slow on yours. i'm enjoying it so far aside from the fact i can't use my custom home screen that i made for use with facade. facade doesn't like 6.1 apparently. :(

Facade is working fine for me. There is a new version of facade out 1.4.

It took me a minute to get rid of all the chinese, but it can be done.

I'd say it took me a solid 5 hours to customize it.

You need to go into your settings scroll to the last settings page and set up your email there if you have not done this yet.

I've looked around, but cannot get to remap the keyboard correct. Checked the registry but can't find a way to activate the keymap file I used on WM6 rom. I've read the thread about the keyboard thing, but can't find the thing in the new registry.

Installed et9 cab file and tried to update registry and all is like it was in WM 6.0, but still doesn't work after restart etc.

Anybody that can help?

If anybody else with scandinavian keyboard got this to work, please let me know.

Installed and worked perfectly, english, seems fast, over clocked my processor a little bit with the built in program, all is great. Nice ROM (went from HTC's). Only thing I wish would be the use of Facade 1.4 AND the slider home. Can't use both (that I have found, if anyone else found a fix let me know).

I'm going to look around and see how to customize the slider homescreen. Would be nice to throw in a "Programs" slider.

I'm going back to customizing this and will post back.

Oh and Smarttoolkit is buggy with it. Worked perfect with the 1.33 ROM.

I'm still keeping this ROM though, very nice.

You will lose everything on phone mem, your sim is fine and will keep the numbers.
