iv tryed a hard reset and still the same with no other apps, iv also re flashed 6.1 and still the same :confused:

Know you probably done this but turn hub off & on test....

I'm using the Skype home screen on my phone with this ROM. This morning when I looked at the appointments bar on the home screen, it said that "tomorrow" I have meeting X at 10 AM. The problem is that the meeting is at 10 AM TODAY, and is in the phone's calendar as such (and also in my office computer's Outlook as such, and the two are sync'd by GPRS/EDGE). The clock and date bar on the home screen read correctly. When I click on the appointment bar, it goes to meeting X on the calendar for today's date, as it should.

The appointment in question is a weekly recurring one. I notice I have the same problem with another recurring appointment on a different day.

It's almost as though the appointments bar is in a different time zone all by itself.

However, today at 7:53 AM I put in a new (non-recurring) appointment for 9 AM today and the appointments bar shows correctly that it is coming up at 9 AM TODAY.

ok so ive done some testing and i think i have figured out why its doing this.. but i dont know how to fix it..

it seems if you have the mail client auto checking email, or use the web browser it doesnt shut down the tmobile data, so the mms data cant run when it detects a mms message. so it fails.

there is an option to close the mms data connection when it gets a mms message but no option to close the data connection when it gets done checking for new emails.

any ideas?

Put a . in the user name and password along with the regular MMS settings, thats what I did and now the mms works fine. Youll still get the "error Syncronizing" but sending and recieving work.

Kavana, i like to connect my phone (excalibur wm 6.1 kavana) to a router but it doesn´t assigns my the correct ip, how can I change the ip adress in the phone to connect with 192.168.100.30, because that works fine. I see in other forums that olders wm versions in dash has start>settings>connections>wifi>net configurations>811b......... but this versions has not. What can I do because i can´t connect my wifi. Sorry for my English.

The only glitch I found in my earlier english cab file for eT9 was that the "0" key would type "0" by default instead of tab.

I've just put together a cab file that replicates the original T-Mobile Dash's keyboard. No oddities so far. Hope this fixes some of the stranger keyboard issues listed on this page.

My only question is, the calendar appears in chinese, the regional settings and language are set to english... Is there any way I can change the calendar to english?? Thanks allot for your quick reply strangely though with my phone the function key no longer works. I have to press the z key and then space to get it to go to ABC but even then its not working right. when i want a c i would have to press 2 three times like those non query phones. This goes for all my numbers and my a key is now a space key. Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I like very much this rom, it's stable and fast!
I have just a problem with sms, but I think that it's not a rom's problem.
When I restored my old sms in the "sms inbox threading" mode I can't see all messages. If I disable this function I have all sms. Is there anyone that know a solution to see all sms in threading mode?

Hi, i installed kavanas latest final rom on my german t-mobile mail to. its awsome. i installed the et9full.cab and after an restart, i was able to use german input language in the sms or email-app. but, if i would ad a new name in my contacts-list, i was not able to use the cab-button to get an capital. has anybody a working solution for this problem?

I recommend you to read sticky's tutorial and guides posted in the first page of this forum. Please read them carefully and follow every step because if you don't, probably you can end up with a bricked phone and by the way welcome to the forum.

you can check out ookba's 3vo but there isn't anyway this rom could be even remotely close to ready soon if it was recooked for the dash 3g. it would be like starting from the beginning all over again, everything from pixel widths to memory leaks would have to be fixed up, compatible programs, registries. in the short if you're completely obsessed with the dash 3g (which i own and can't stand) then see if you can talk to ricky and ookba into getting this working for the dash. ricky has all the original stuff and ookbas the only person daring enough to cook for the dash 3g people yet

after reboot - choose voice command

ms voice command will be the default voice command, so if you press cancel, it will be defaulted to ms voice command. However, if you do choose cyberon voice command, you need to reboot.(difference between these two kinds of voice command is that cyberon voice uses voice-tags that you record, whereas ms voice command doesn't need you to record voice tags(but spoken language only support english)

Afterwards I'd flash the stock ROM and make sure I installed the Application unlock .cab from Application Unlock thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355789)

Check sticky for the US version it's under keymap :)

Uninstall eT9Full soft reset then install TegicT9 softreset all done ;)

I have installed wm6.1 kavanna on my new tmobile dash along with et9 full. I seem to have a problem with the keyboard mapping. When I press a key with both a number and a letter i get the number and not the letter. I tried holding down the alt button to see what would happen, I still only get the number. When I press the 'a' key i dont get anything. When I try to change the input type to bring up menu(with the t9 option ABC option etc) with alt and space nothing happens. Help please.

hi @all,

i tested many different roms from here. in my opinion is kavanas rom the best alternative between the old wm 6.0 rom and the newest wm 6.5 rom, which drains my battery much more than wm 6.0 with kavanas rom i`m able to use my phone vor about 3 days, with wm 6.5 i have to charge every day. the only problem is the text input in german language. i used the et9full-package and rebooted my device. Then i`m able to use the german keyboard-layout except the capital-letter key. its without function. i there any workaround out here. in the 3vo-roms the keyboard-layout-changer functions great, when i changed the text-input-method to ABC.

It would be nice, if anybody has in working idea.

i have a brand new battery and when the battery is probably at 70 or 50% the light turns amber as if it were being charged when its not

is there something in the HKEY that i can go to, to get this back to the normal setting?

Why not install 20080328.3.1 if that fixes the problem? i have EsmertecJbed20080222.3.1 which is what was used in RoseRemade if you want? ;)

Not sure about GMT problem as i only ever used Opera Mini with it and it was just to bipase the RoseJbed font issue.

yea in Opera Mini we can customize the show time but i have some other java app which JBedRose can not show the right time for my location

I am a newbie and I found and installed this WM6.1 just fine last night. GREAT INSTRUCTIONS!!! :) Works perfectly; I just can't get enough of navigating around on my Dash. I'm like a kid with a new toy. :p

To fellow newbies: Start reading from page 1 on this thread and read through to the end. Read the instructions FIRST, download the files, and then perform the upgrade. Also, do not attempt this when irritated or tired. Fatigue will cause you to miss a step and/or input the incorrect settings (yes, this will require user input; it is not going to do everything for you). You will need to configure MMS, Internet, T-Mobile Web (t-zones), and etc; these instructions are include on this thread, so again, start from page 1. So far, MyFaves isn't compatible with WM6.1. Although, I have seen a few temporary fixes for this, it is not necessary; you're calls are still going to be free to/from those on your MyFaves list and you can always manage your MyFaves on T-Mobiles website or t-zones.

OK think I found it - I had to install another CAB http://movie.99msn.net/kavana/eT9%20Full.cab which worked! (then I copied in the correct keymapping file and rebooted.) Anyone else have this problem hope this works for them!

First : how do I remove word completion/suggestion? I've install the eT9 full and have input type xT9.

Second : Before upgrading, when on Vibration, when I received a call it was one long vibration and 3 short ones for a txt message. Now with the upgrade it,s always long vibrations, do you know how to change that to how it was before?

i dont know if this question has already been answered but i have been using the 6.5evo rom and for a plathora of reasons i am thinking about switching roms. one of the main reasons is the fact i now need support for chinese and as i learned in the other rom it cant be done. is there anyway you can install mandarin simplified on this rom? an input like the computer would be amazing!

Edit registry

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Tegic\eT9\IME\Language KeyboardIDMapping

You will find the string value named "010C" that's the one controlling keyboard mapping for French.

Edit it and input value data "07FF" for QWERTY basically the same than what you have in string value "*".

:DNow every time you need to make an entry in French on SMS, notepad... simply press ALT + SPACE chose the French language dictionary, it won't change the keyboard to AZERTY anymore.

Note: this fix work for all other language, you just have to open the string value for the language you have installed. I have changed all other languages values to 07FF since my keyboard is QWERTY;)

I have been using your ROM for some time and love it. Little problem now.

I just modified my pim file in an attempt to clear my outlook data (as suggested by some other blog) however, now when the system boots up it gets stuck on WM flash screen.

Tried pulling battery
Tried hard reset - Hold down soft keys when turning on
Tried Bootloader - Hold down camera button when turning on

Any other suggestions?

have u tried this, turn off the phone,then press and hold the camera button whilst you put in the usb cable connected to your pc into your phone?it should load bootloader.

That did the trick! After firing up the bootloader, I shut the phone down and did a hard reset....system went through a cold rebot and I'm back up.

there is a massive bug with the message sounds and alarms in this FW, i just got my phone back from a friend after not having it for 3 days and i had 3 alarms set up in 15 min increments when i turned my phone on it back logged all undismissed alarms and froze my phone trying to play all the alarms at once, i took about 20mins of button pushing before i was able to clear them all and when a message comes through it play the entire ringtone even after i check the message and if i get more then one message it plays the tone again even if the first ringtone hasn't finished w/o stopping the first tone, does anyone know how to resolve this cause that was possibly the most annoying thing i have ever seen/heard, or better yet is there another ROM i could switch to that doesn't do this?

Thank you for the reply on trying the hard reset but unfortunately that just led to other problems. Now when I reboot my phone, it will not turn on all the way. After passing the HTC screen, it stops at the Windows Mobile screen. So now I cannot use my phone for anything.

Any suggestions out there or am I stuck with having to go back to TMobile's old ROM?

Please disregard my last post. I only tried restarting and not the cold reset. Once I tried the cold reset I was able to access phone functions, including text messaging.

Feel like a noob but i have the excalibur et9 installed i chose the usa keymap and rebooted 3 times and still its on the UK circle does it sopose to be like that ? and idk how to install the tegic where or which directory and , or how do i install it cause i click on the XML and it opes internet exporer.


EDIT: I think i know now i have to drag the whole cab and install it using resco i got it now the white part of the keyboard is now fixed :D.

I installed the eT9.cab and rebooted my phone and the keyboard was working correctly. then out of nowhere, my phone shut down and rebooted itself and locked itself. it looks completely normal, but if i press any button other than the soft key for "unlock" it automatically shuts down and reboots itself. i don't know what to do about this. any suggestions?

EXCELLENT ROM,

My T-Mobile dash breath new life with this rom, absolutely amazing.

I could like to know if there is a way to quickly enable/disable 2G-EDGE (DATA PLAN) to avoid extra costs.

It could be great to have it on the same place where you enable/disable wifi.

No and you'll brick your device trying, ROMs are specific to phones due to hardware.

Stylz, thanks for being so helpful with us newbs in this thread. My dash sat for like 2 years, then I got a pre-paid sym card and this ROM and my broke ass is STOKED!

Anyway, when I start typing in a phone number the phone plays the DTMF tones, how do I turn this off? (I keep volume maxed so I can hear ring)

Hi, i really hope someone can help me: I've installed this ROM and set it up, as described , on my htc s620 (on O2 pay and go UK).

The problem i'm having is with the WLAN wifi settings: I've set up and connected to the interenet via my home router and for a while it all works fine, however every few minutes the phone beeps, the wifi icon disappears and i lose connectivity, then the icon reappears and the wifi reconnects (eventually). This is a real pain in the arse if in the middle on syncing email or downloading updates!!

The process worked smoothly.
All one needs to do is download and run the RUU_Excalibur_WM61_Kavana_080408_WWE.exe file. Your device will be automatically unlocked and the new ROM loaded.

CeleTask. Just wanted to know, decided to look it up and it had a price on it, I don't know if the "special version" makes it ok, if everything in here is free without stealing then it's cool. Unless i'm mistaken because this site is against stealing..just honestly wanted to know, if it's not then it's cool. The rom is good btw, first time i've used a custom one.

Maybe you are missing something, you need to try it more than once. Have you tried a hard reset?

Celetask is a freeware since a version is provided for free.

The easy way, in other words install T9 app copy to the Window directory and also install the JogBar app, check or uncheck mark the box "Enable xT9 input", soft reset your device OK, Click the "alt" key to get away from the chinese writting......!

heloo everyone! i have a problem with my phone ... while i was installing this rom, my brother came and disconected my phone now ...

when i reboot it on my screen appears 3 colors red green and blue .. with usb in the left,

i run the RomUpdateUtility - has conected but at 3% the phone disconects ( utility say error 270 update error the image file is corrupted please check update utility)
if i try to run the instalation from the begin my pc does not recognize it
i could do something ? or i should start kicking my brothers ass ???

I have upgraded my Tmobile dash from WM 6 to Kavana WM6.1
File: RUU_Excalibur_WM61_Kavana_080408_WWE.exe

All the setup was completed and it worked great with all the instructions. However, when I went inside the communication manager, to turn on WIFi, the communication mgr does NOT show the WiFi option at all.

Not sure if I did anything wrong.

Can anyone let me know what would be the fix to get WiFi option in communication manager?

Could not find any solution in earlier threads here.

ok this windows dose not have auto lock but for everything is an answer ...i had the same problem and i found a software its called 'Automatic keylock' i thin i have it from this site .. search for it! or leave a replay and i will give it to you thru fileshare! have a nice day

guys i have some problems i have a T-mobile dash and i wanna upgrade to kavanna ( specially since im not gonnna use any t-mobile function ever) i used the sda application unlock and the Excalibur Update SPL (USPL) 1.11 to upgrade my rom but when i run the RUU excalibur rom it doesnt work doesnt run so i need to run both apps before install the kavanna rom or there is another method? and before everything happends i have one more question

ill have to pay alot of money unlock my dash and unlock my SIM too or everything will be done by the wizard and wont need to pay any cent ?
