Reboot you device

After Reboot - Choose Voice Command

MS Voice Command will be the default voice command, so if you press cancel, it will be defaulted to MS Voice Command. However, If you do choose Cyberon Voice Command, you need to reboot.(Difference between these two kinds of voice command is that Cyberon voice uses voice-tags that you record, whereas ms voice command doesn't need you to record voice tags(but spoken language only support English)

After this, install the following has the keyboard has mapping problems:

eT9 with 14 languages suppport addon(spanish, french, german and italian)

Can someone tell me why whenever I use the USPL.bat and run all that crap on my phone, hit YES twice for haret.exe and all that, but the screen won't go black. It stays all white and I can't flash anything. Really getting on my nerves.

What I do for Flash this ROM:
run unlock.exe - for unlock the software
run the RUU exe
Everything else are "press any key", "Y/N", "Next" and that's all :).
When the RUU exe works my screen is white.

EDIT: Haret is for official (no cooked) ROMS and maybe is not compatable with this rom

How do i turn off the predictive text in english?The easy way, in other words install T9 app copy to the Window directory and also install the JogBar app, check or uncheck mark the box "Enable xT9 input", soft reset your device OK, Click the "alt" key to get away from the chinese writting......!

When you device comes back after you have installed the new 6.1 upgrade software, go to Start> Settings> #7(More)> #5(Regional Settings)> and change the Lanuage to: (US English), soft reset your device. When your device comes back up, it will be in (US English), but go back to the (Regional Settings) again, this time set the "Locale:" and set the "Short date style"! To write in English ( the easy way) install the T9 app to your device and copy it to the windows directory and install the JogBar App and check mark enable T9 text, soft reset your device, that's it..........!

Update: I found JumpSPL.exe under phone root directory. So I executed it, now the phone stops at a screen says: Jump Address 0x00000, and a OK button. What should I do now?

Just make sure that once you hit enter and the screen on your phone goes white, you need to go to ActiveSync - Connection Settings - and disable USB Connections. Then proceed with setup.

first thing you have to do is install the application unlocker, then remove your microSD, then reboot your phone, then upgrade your phone

(5)Getting your device to write in English, you will need to install the "eT9 text app" to your device, and copy it to the windows directory, soft reset your device, next, install the "JogBar" app and check mark the box "Enable T9 " and you use the "alt" key to exit out from the Chinese writing.

i've installed the eT9 text app, and rebooted, then installed the JogBar app and checked the Enable T9 already. But when i write a text file and i press alt+space, the setup for keytouch still appears. i still don't have the eT9 thingy. i can't get to this part: and you use the "alt" key to exit out from the Chinese writing.

What are you trying to do exactly? Get the entry field/T9 in English? If that is your question, I didn't use the JogBar app was able to get mine in all English doing the following:

1) Hit alt-space when in some type of text-entry field.
2) Press up (Setup).
3) Select 2-EN (for English).
4) 'Display Candidates List' will pop up (Yes if you want them)

Then, when back in some type of text-entry field:
1) Hit alt-space, then
2) Press down on the pad (Lang), and
3) then Left (to select EN).

That worked for me. Make sure you have changed your regional settings in all areas as well and, as you mentioned, dropped the attached file into the windows folder.

Let me know if that works, if not, I'll rethink what steps I took.

I've fix the MSG button in the original keyboard driver,so now you can map the MSG button to any app.just rename the app link name to short_MSG.lnk and put it into windows folder

Is anyone else having problems with MMS? Using the settings on the T-Mobile wireless configurator, I am able to send pictures to others, and they receive them ok. However, I cannot receive incoming messages. When I try Send/Receive from the MMS menu, I get "Error Synchronizing"Try setting your carrier as the default MMS......!

Use this cab, and install to main memory. Fixed it for me although no items are shown in the PC Connection and Network Connection. I'm using it to tether while writing this e-mail. This is a great ROM, well built.

Given my device now thinks its a Dopod c720w, clearly that is the origin of the ROM. A question though - is this WM 6.1 build based on an official Dopod build? Or is it based on beta code?

I have also noticed that the Internet Explorer in this ROM does not have issues with php pages like the latest HTC official build.

Important for the new Kavana ROM - everbody who don't use voice command, must remove voice shortcut from windows/startup directory - this will increase free RAM and battery life.


I use Radio the same as HTC's last 1.33 official ROM.

When selecting a maximum size in MMS settings, the highest option in the newest version of the ROM is 100K. Anyone know how to make this larger (e.g. 300k like the 'older' ROM)?:confused:

1. Launch Registry Editor

2. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ArcSoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI\SizeLimit

3. Edit the DWORD values for SendLimit1, SendLimit2, SendLimit3, SendLimit4, and SendLimit5. The values are in bytes, so if you want 300k to appear, you would enter 307200 (which is 300*1024)

Note that each mobile carrier has their limits, so setting the max to 2MB will not work.

Take a look to attachment (use French language as bulgarian/russian ЯВЕРТЫ), but you can eventualy lost 'caps' key function, i don't know why.

Does the 080314 version of JVM work over the T-Mo $5.99 proxy? With T-Mo's version of JVM, Java applications weren't aware of the proxy and there was no way to manually set it up.

I used Opera Mini successfully with the 5.99 plan. You need to change Opera Mini's setting to communicate through http. By default it uses socket which is not supported by the proxy.

Opera Mini's page rendering is not too good on dash though. Actually it looks worse than on my Nokia cell phone. The font doesn't look very smooth.

path of the picture folder is regular in chome.dll we can't change it only if hack chome.dll

supported folders are:
\Storage Card\DCIM
\Storage Card\Pictures
\My Documents\My Pictures

The new version of HTC camera store pictures in \Storage Card\DCIM,but we can't use the new version of HTC camera cause it's for 200Mpx camera.

Maybe next time I'll hack the chome.dll,to make it support \Storage Card\My Documents\My Pictures,maybe i'll success...

Open CeleTask -> Menu -> 3 Utilities -> 1 Reboot


This has been a feature since WM6 I believe.

Also you can reboot by:
Open CeleTask(IE or T-Zone key) -> press Q ->Reboot
I have already mapped shortcut key in CeleTask.

Difference is that cyberon voice uses voice-tags that you record, whereas ms voice command doesn't need you to record voice tags. The difficulty is that if you have a bunch of contacts, then msvc chokes in my experience. It has nice features but I feel our omap cpu isn't up to it, at least for me. I use the voice-tags all the time and have mapped the tzones/ie key (short_ie) to bring up cyberon. Just that much faster when using it in real world - home key long press too much hassle.

I was able to get a zero by pressing and holding ALT then pressing the 0 key. I also noticed that when I press the SYM/camera key I get é instead of the symbols menu. Is anyone else having this problem? I would like to get my Dash working as it did. Here they are. All of them. These are all of the startup /shutdown and splash screen i use. There are two files for the call progress with a (1) at the end of one of them. You pick which one you prefer, but if you want to use the one with the (1) at the end make sure you take the (1) off b-4 dropping it in the \windows directory. As with all modifications, make sure you copy the original files somewhere, just in case you want to revert back to the old ones. All files are already named what they need to be named, all you need to do is drag and drop. Oki doki, I had the same troubles! :confused:

My keyboard is an AZERTY one, 'cus I'm French but I think I got the solution for you guys, at least with the ZERO key.
Here is how I edited the keymap file then it worked like a charm!
Now when you wanna dial, zero works, and when u r typing messages in text mode with eT9 it whever Tabs while the word is underlined or Zeros by default! :D

Simply change that :
{0 0x09 0 0 0xff} // 0x30 = VK_TAB
to thist:
{0 0x09 0x09 0 0xff} // 0x30 = VK_TAB

And this is what i got for the SYMB key which works too:

I love using smarttoolkit and this ROM almost made me pitch the program , but i prefer to use the file explorer on it vs. resco or file explorer. I also like it better when accessing the start menu. However, has anyone noticed that when you go to the control panel part of the start menu in smarttooklit that activesync and settings cannot be accessed in this ROM?

Ok i figured out a solution (or 2 solutions) to this issue. Even though i figured it out on my own i thought i'd post it in case anyone else wants to do this.

The settings and activesync options in control panel are trying to point to \windows\settings.lnk and \windows\sync.lnk but in this new ROM neither file exist. But they DO exist in the \windows\start menu directory. So you can do one of two things.

1. copy and paste both the settings.lnk and activesync.lnk files from the \windows\start menu directory and paste them into the \windows directory, but you will also need to rename the activesync.lnk file you are pasting over to sync.lnk (leaving out the active part)

2. You can edit the registry:
Navigate to HKCU-->Software-->e-Natives-->SmartToolkit. and edit the value cpanel_items .. when you edit it you will see that somewhere on the line it will say \windows\Settings.lnk all you will need to do is make it say \windows\start menu\settings.lnk . then for activesync
on the same value you will see \windows\sync.lnk you will change that part to read windows\start menu\activesync.lnk

after you do that go back into STK's start menu and then control panel and you will see that both activesync and settings in the menu work!

HOWTO: Change Default Font in WM6
I for one don't really like the default Tahoma font, so I thought I'd share how to change the default font.

Using the default Vista font "Segoe UI"

1. Copy your font file (usually *.ttf) into /Windows/Fonts. Be sure to note the INTERNAL name of the font (find it out by double-clicking on the file in Windows)
in this case "Segoe UI"

2. Using your favorite registry editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\SysFnt

3. Find the key named "Nm". Replace what's in it (usually Tahoma) with the name of the font, in this case "Segoe UI"

4. Repeat III for "HKLM\SYSTEM\GWE\Menu\Menufnt\Barfnt" and "Popfnt"

4.1 Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\V1
- look for something like FontAliases. The keys inside represent the font "choices" -you have (which default to Tahoma), and look like Arial:-12. Change the value -from Tahoma* to Segoe UI*.
- Rinse and repeat.

5. Reset

And that's it ! The Segoe font renders much more easier to the eyes with Cleartype (and the spacing is really nice)

BTW does anyone know of ANY WAY to tether windows mobile to a MAC? Since i can't seem to get the BT working i need a way to tether... The WMWIFIRouter program isn't working the best, all though its doing OK.. I will probably purchase it as a backup but i really like bluetooth or usb tethering better... Plus WIFI makes the phone HOT and really eats battery worse then bluetooth

you can tether via bluetooth using Personal Area Networking on MAC OS 10.4.9 or higher. follow these steps:

1. pair dash with mac
2. go to internet sharing and specify BT PAN as pc connection leave network connection as T-Mobile Data
3. Press Connect
4. click on modem icon in menu bar on MAC (the one that looks like a phone with wifi bars radiating off of it)
5. select join network on T-Mobile Dash or HTC s620
6. browse on MAC :D

Hey guys,
I am trying to install this rom on a friend's T-mobile dash. I have tried to follow the instructions after running the .exe but I keep getting the Error 270. The error that more than a few people have gotten but no one wants to share how they fixed it.

The initial instructions for running the SPL may be my problem because the step that says "press the center button and your screen should turn almost white" nothing happens on mine. When if I press the center button it basically opens whatever is highlighted on the screen.

I tried manually running the SPL then running RUU. This results in the 270 error at about 3% of the flash...any help? or should I just run the CID unlocker in the sticky...i thought I didn't need to. This is my first room flash with a Dash.

A few issues I'm having that I wonder if anyone else is dealing with...

1) searching for contacts who's letters overlap with numbers. ie. contact name that starts with "Mazz" can't be searched -- it just doesn't come up.

2) immediate dial of certain numbers in the smart-dialer. For example, searching for contact "Howard" results in a popup asking if I want to call "411".

3) When I enable internet sharing over BT PAN, and search for the device to add, it does not list PAN as a potential service offered via BT. There's no way to pair it.

Any thoughts on that? Is there something obvious that I'm missing?

Bluetooth PAN isn't working, at least on mac OS X.. I don't know what u have though.. However, kavana confirmed that he had to use an old driver so bluetooth PAN probably wont work for a while.. Im really hoping for a fix though sooon.. so if anyone has ideas I am still open to them

I had the same original problems as you and installed Kavana's eT9Full.cab file on the first page. It fixed the wacky key board problem for me too. BUT The keyboard is definitely the British one, Not the American. The '@' sign is under N, plus some weird sign (pence?) is alt-l etc. Isolating the english file won't fix it cause there something wrong with the original(?)

EDIT: Thought I Fixed the problem by dropping the american "eT9.Excalibur.0409.kmap" file into the program files\et9\ directory. Now after a reset, All the keys appear to type as they should. But Symbol key just shows weird e- not symbol list.

The only glitch I found in my earlier english cab file for eT9 was that the "0" key would type "0" by default instead of tab.

I've just put together a cab file that replicates the original T-Mobile Dash's keyboard. No oddities so far. Hope this fixes some of the stranger keyboard issues listed on this page.

Ok if you got that far then you are at step 4.
When you ran the "auto.bat" did any errors come with weird numbers on your PC's screen?


1) Unzip it first.
2) Run "Auto.bat" on your pc if your device is locked. Run it anyways if you are unsure.
3) Follow the instructions by pressing any key each time on your PC.
4) THIS is the IMPORTANT part. When you get to the part that tells you
"execute SPL now - press center button on your Excalibur and screen should turn nearly white. Press any key to continue . . ." Make sure you press a key on your "PC" FIRST then the screen
on your DASH will change and there will be a button in the middle of your screen on your DASH.
Now you press the center button on your DASH. Your screen should turn all white.
5) Once again press any key on your PC or run "ROMUpdateUtility.exe" from your PC, follow the instructions on that. Enjoy the new ROM.

This has worked everytime, but you have to follow the instructions exactly as I wrote them.

For flash your rom, the best tool is Excalibur USPL- CID BYPASS from Jockyw2001.
Unlock first your telephone with SDA_ApplicationUnlock.

When you have run the Excalibur USPL- CID BYPASS (run uspl), it turn white.

When you have the error after flashing your rom disconnect the phone from your PC while it is white en reconnect it again.
Then run the ROMUpdateUtility again.

This will work.

... now when i go to "Start > Settings > Home Screen" I get all the items twice expect "Time out", like this:

n/m I got it lol. For those of you who have T-mobile, and performed this rom update... here are the instructions to get your internet working again, over gprs.

1. On the handset, press Start.
2. Scroll to and select Settings. Note: you may need to press More to see the Settings icon.
3. Scroll to and select Connections.
4. Scroll to and select GPRS.
5. Press Menu and select Add.
6. In the Description field, enter T-Mo WEB
7. Scroll to Connects to and scroll horizontally to The Internet.
8. Scroll to Access point and enter internet2.voicestream.com
9. Scroll to User name and enter
10. Scroll to Password and enter
11. Press Done twice.
12. Press Menu and select Advanced.
13. Scroll to Internet connection and scroll horizontally to T-Mo WEB
14. Press Done.
15. Press the end call button.
16. Press Start.
17. Scroll to and select Internet Explorer.
18. Press Menu and select Options.
19. Scroll to and select Connections.
20. Remove the tick from Automatically detect settings.
21. Scroll to Select network: and scroll horizontally to The Internet.
22. Press Done.
23. Press the end call button to return to the main screen.

The settings have been applied and are ready for use.

Well, I think that's your problem. You're using the T-Mobile ROM. Try flashing to the HTC Brightpoint 1.33 ROM first. Then--upgrade to 6.1. I had the same problem until I did it that way.

I STAND CORRECTED!!! The message for me to click the link to go to MyAlbums was in my SMS message folder. A second later the picture message came into my MMS folder just fine. So basically...just make sure you have configured your connections settings according to the T-Mobile Wireless Configurations page. It can be found in Profezza's signature.

I spent a few hours and almost 45 free MMSs with two Tmo smartphone techs about 2 weeks ago. Learned some interesting stuff...

After setting it up like the carrier says, you do not need to call them. You just need to soft-reset (reboot) the phone. Whether you do this on the phone with them or not, it does not really "re-insert" you in any db. Your phone just has a good chance of catching another tower which will request a fresh update of your mms configs, or even forcing your updated settings onto the existing one, if you catch the same one. Evidently, the cell towers, according to one of the techs, keep "cookies" which expire at some interval, but rebooting, and thus renegotiating the connection almost always cause it to want a fresh one.

If you see no improvement; double, triple check all your settings against their recommendations, and then walk across the street and try again.

You can also, after setting it all up as per the Tmo guide in my sig, go into the registry and change the sending size to 300k. Acording to Tmo WM support, the network is supposed to send and receive files up to 1MB, but most of the phones are manufacturer-hardwired to choke on anything larger than 300k in or out. That's the pat answer for all Tmo US phones, smart or otherwise. Our test transfers of various sizes seemed to indicate this was correct for the dash. Of course, reboot for promptest effect.

Actually, I would love to see the 300k limit added to the K/R ROM, btw, since Tmo US is the carrier of a large number of of the xda-dev rowd. One less thing to remember after flashing.

I suspect this is "manufacturer-hardwired" is actually a coded-limit in the relatively out-of-date embedded ArcSoft MMS client, but I don't know of any leaks of their newer software, the new features, or how to install over the existing. If anyone else has that data, like from newer/fancier phone, I hitnk a lot of us would love a richer MMS engine ...and a little PicturePerfect, too. ;)

Really the WM6.1 is excellent. But I had really serious problems in my HTC s 621, the troubles are that instead of @ (which is over J on my keyboard appears the pound sign), and instead of ñ (which is over K on my keyboard appears $). I tried to correct it with eT9 app, but it was impossible for me.
If someone knows how to fix it please help me, because I really want to keep this version of WM.:confused:

Ok I ve Fixed all Map Issues on Spanish Keyboard Layout With an aditional remap.

Enclosed on Zip are 3 Files:
eT9.Excalibur.040A.kmap.txt
Should be copy to your eT9 directory ( Usually \Program files\eT9\ )

Spanish keyb et9.reg
Should be run on your device it add a new remap for SP keyb (040A)

SP default wm6 sp.reg
Run from Device too It Make Spanish your Default eT9

Remaped: k=ñ, n=&, L==, j=@, rest of keys.

okay so i installed this windows 6.1 thing on my dash, and i didnt like the text input and how it was just like a standard cell phone, so i went to go and put the regular t-mobile windows mobile 6 back on the phone and BAM! it doesnt connect to my computer.

I had a similar issue, and fixed it by going into Activesync and deleting the old reference to the device from Activesync.

Go to File->Mobile Device ... and select the device (if you have more than one), then go to File->Delete Mobile Device

Reconnect your device.

If that does not work, on the device, go into Start->Settings->Connections->USB to PC and uncheck the option "Enable advanced network functionality" then reconnect your device again.

If that fails, come back and ask again. Maybe someone else will have some other ideas.

On the phone, microSD cards show up under "Storage Card" in the file explorer. In windows, you open the phone by right clicking the ActiveSync icon in the system tray and chosing "Explore." The double-click on "My Windows Mobile-Based Device" and you should see the "Storage Card" folder there.

Hi to all,

I have noticed that there is a display issue with many of the themes when using the Kavanna 6.1 ROM.

When entering the "Today" screen and navigating up and down to view the summary title of each appt, most themes produce a plain white box unless you are on that particular appointment.

This does not occur with the default green theme or the Red or Lake themes. Just about all the others do this. Including some of my favourites.

This is not an issue with past appointments which display in grey font rather than black. They appear normally.

I suspect this is probably a fairly easy fix by editing the xml file of the theme. But I'm a little lost as to how to do it without messing things up.

I have attached screens with examples of navigating up and down. You can see how they disappear when you are not overtop. The last screen is of a date in the past where the grey font displays properly

Anybody got an idea how to do this?

(Incidentally, the theme shown in the screens is not the default Windows green but the "Green Abstract 2" - a download from the Windows Mobile website - my current favourite)

It's because thats only for the task and startbars, you still physically have to change to wallpaper in the start-->settings-->homescreen

thats because you didnt read the instruction. read the instructions and try again. here is a tip: do a search for error 270 or UNLOCK YOUR DAMN PHONE PER THE INSTRUCTIONS. i dont mean to be rude but this is the 1000000 time this has been answered and it was just made a sticky. READ THE FORUM, DONT JUST LEECH FILES.

I asked in this thread a while ago for some help with my text messages only showing headers. This error did the same for email's but I don't use that as often. I didn't get any reply's and the problem was driving me nuts. It would work after I cleared the memory but after a time texts and emails wouldn't work. I then posted a thread and the people were very helpful but I still couldn't get the problem fixed.

I thought Kavana's ROM had some big error with it but no one else was complaining. I downloaded Ricky's rom but same problem. So this weeked I fooled around with my phone believing it was some program I was installing. Even though I only install Google Maps, TCPMP, YGo, and Windows Live. I would install something then restart. I tried installing them one by one then it seemed to work but still after a time was becoming broken. I thought it had something to do with synching corrupted contact data. So I didn't synch but after a while it still came back.

This morning I finally realized that if you turn off active x it breaks the email and text which I assume both use IE active x The bad setting is.....

Main Settings Menu->IE Settings->Advanced Options -> NEVER TURN OFF ACTIVE X CONTROLS.

I think if Kavana, my personal hero, rolls another ROM you should take out this option.

First off I would like to say thank you for provding the 6.1 ROM. Very cool I like it. I also like having a ROM that does not come with all the T-Mobile Ads :).

After I installed the ROM I had one issue with my T-Dash HTC-S620 I noticed my key mapping for ALT, A, Z, CAP and all the number keys do not function as before. For example if I click the number 1 key it does not write 'W' when I am text messaging. 'Sym' key will not pop up symbols list etc...

Do you have an Idea how I can fix this?

It may say that, but it's okay to install. And yes, rebooting is turning the phone off then on again.

That's why the file was not working !!

If you're upgrading your ROM, that's probably what should happen. Check the upgrade guide in the wiki. There's a video link there that shows exactly how the upgrade looks throughout the process.

Hi All,

Read through all 12 pages and upgraded my Dash to 6.1. Everything went well; except that when I type in my notepad, my A, Z, Alt, and Cap buttons don't work.

Also, the numbers that share with alphabet buttons are locked on numbers only. It may have something to do with the Alt key.

I installed the full ET9 version that fixed the initial key mapping bugs, but after the reboot, the keys listed above are still messed up. Anyone else having this problem or can shed some light on this?

I'm using the English version.

Update:

Removed the ET9 Full I installed right loading WM 6.1, then rebooted, installed Tegic ET9 cab file, and rebooted one last time. Now all the keys are mapped properly. This forum rocks. Thanks!

You need either the tegic t9 cab (English-only) or the full one (with 14 languages) in Kavana's thread. They fix most keyboard problems people have had. If you have trouble finding either, there are direct-download links in the upgrade guide in the wiki.

Although I left the tech realm a long time ago this is something I could not resist. Now it has been some challenge (some panicky moments :D included) but all in all it works nice and shiny. So again many thanks for this. It is once again all about RTFM and true, I was a bit to eager to click and play too.. anyway all good now.

Only one issue: my phone is not recognized anymore by VISTA/32 and subsequently Windows Mobile Device Centre 6.1. Anyone encountered similair issues?

First of all, I would like to thank you for making this ROM.

I have installed it on my Dash and I am having a weird problem - Whenever I make a call or receive a call, the phone won't ring and once connected the voice does not pass.

So for example, If I make a call from my Dash to your phone, I won't hear it ringing but you will see me calling and pick up the phone. Once picked up, there is not voice communication even though the phone is connected. And if you call me, the phone won't ring, but on the phone lcd, it will show that you are calling and when I pickup the phone, I cannot hear anything you say and you will not hear anything that I say and the phone will show that it is connected.

Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated. All Dash gurus please chip in.

Just flash the 6.0 ROM back to the phone. You can get the T-Mobile ROM from the T-Mobile website.

Installed Kavana WM6.1 080408 on a T-Mobile Dash running T-Mobile WM6 and it works flawlessly. Its faster and other things -- such as WIFI, GPRS and Email setup -- work much better. It also recognizes the SDHC 6 meg storage card, which the TMO WM6 didn't do. Only thing I needed to do was to install the Tegic eT9 US English cab file to get the correct keyboard mapping.

I have try with the 3-18 and the 6-08 rom(with or without et9), I am no able to dial letter example I cannot dial 1(800) helpme1 since the keypad is different than a normal phone like key 2 is abc etc..., it was working in WM6 from Tmobile with Alt+letter.

Search this section for Alphanuma. It will put a background pic on your dialing screen which shows you what number corresponds to which letter. Great stuff.

i dont know if i fully understand your problem, but probably it's the eT9 input, search the forum for how to fix eT9 input. it happens to me when i installed Kavana's 80408

I am having problems with this ROM. Once in awhile if i go to contact it shows that I have like 50 contacts for one of my contacts. I scroll down through them and there are like 50 "Jons". Then If I try to make a call it ends right away and I lose service. I thought at first maybe some of the recent programs I installed might have cause this issue but I re-flashed my phone with this ROM to start over and still got the same problem.

Update: I flashed back to Tmobile Rom and still having the same problem. I think my dash is messed up.

Thank you very much. I've tried this rom on my german t-mobile mda mail (t-mobile dash, s620...) And as well i've installed the eT9 language support software and changed the eT9 setting on the device in German. All works fine, apart from the use of small and capital letters. In messaging you can use capital letters. In all other applications like word, tasks, calendar etc. the use of captal letters is not possible. Did i forget some setting?

First of all, I just want to say: Great ROM Kavana, its awesome!

Though, I have one problem, after the phone has been on for a while, when I go to click on the Wireless Manager buttun under the Settings bit, it just flashes White (Like it does when it had been clicked) and then does not load the Comm Manager. Rebooting the phone seems to fix this error.... but I don't want to have to keep doing that every time. Any help would be great ! Thanks!

My only problem is that holding down the period key in the bottom right (in order to type a colon) doesn't work. I have to actually hit the alt key, then period. All other alt shortcuts work just by holding down the appropriate key.

Thanks dewey, but unfortunately, that only opens up the Voice Notes app and doesn't turn on Microsoft Voice Command. Although I will say I didn't know the Home key did that. Thanks for answering.

Is anyone else having issues with their email sending multiple times? Email sent from my outlook account seems to get stuck in my outbox and therefore keeps sending the same message over and over again. Even my internet mail will send the message twice but at least it stops. Everything else has been working great with the new 6.1 so far.

This morning I finally realized that if you turn off active x it breaks the email and text which I assume both use IE active x The bad setting is.....

Main Settings Menu->IE Settings->Advanced Options -> NEVER TURN OFF ACTIVE X CONTROLS.

I think if Kavana, my personal hero, rolls another ROM you should take out this option.

You did not "fry it". The 288 = 288 MHz, which is the clock frequency. As a point of reference, I set mine to 210 (MHz) and my DASH is stable. Faster clocks caused issues at least on my phone.

Dude you don't have to reset the phone ,it happens the same to me what i did is remove the sim card (that don't let the phone charge startup programs) it will sent you the message theres no sim card ...... ok so you connect your phone via activesync don't close the (theres no sim) message because if you close it it will charge the startupprograms and obviusly it will charge the omap so you go to \windows\Startup and delete the omap entry and thats it disconnect from activesync close the no sim message and voila.

You should try the search feature...:)

The link above should solve all your problems.
Note: This fix still has a problem for continuous pressing on the comma and period keys, that is the respective semicolon and colon won't show up, you have to use the alt key. On a personal level this really isn't a problem.

Also, that fix is Enlish only, if you want multi-language support go to the first page of this thread.

Patiently awaiting your findings! :) Stranger yet, it WAS THERE!!! Right after the initial flash to WM6.1. I remember finishing my contacts and added one to speed dial. After a reboot or two later...it was just gone.

you have 2 options for sim unlock

1. with certain (most US ones)carriers, if you hold an active account in good standings for 90 days or more (in tmobiles case) they will give you the code. if that isnt an option you have #2

2. pay someone to do it.

I love it to be honest with you. I'm really grateful that Kavana (and Rickywatt) have taken time from their lives to gift us with WM6.1 when it seems that T-Mobile or even HTC do not intend to release it for the S620.

My only quips are that my speed dial is mysteriously missing (not after the flash but after a hard reset) and that Active Sync runs randomly without cause.

One thing I've wanted to ask though is how on earth do you turn off the "Your message was successfully received/denied/sent" for SMS and MMS messaging? I hate getting a "new" text message only to find that it's just a confirmation. I could very well do without them.

Check your messages, emails. Sometimes checking the message leaves it as unread and 15 minute reminder, reminds you.
Wifi....beeps when your screen goes into sleep mode. Normally after 1 minute. (Default)

Sounds like you need to download the ROM again as it may have been corrupted during the transfer.

anywhere...it's best to just drop it into the application data folder on the device and run it. that way you are certain it runs on the device where the unlock will have the most affect.

slightly corrupt install possibly? was your phone fully unlocked prior to the flash? it's upsetting that the one person who put this rom together has not posted in some time.

Yes it was unlocked? Can someone post thier accessib.cpl.xml file? I'll try to overwrite it. Everything else seems fine so far.

I have a random question about the ROM though. My phone only recognizes 2gb microSD cards. After flashing to WM6.1 has that changed at all? Or is it hard to say? I know it may depend on the hardware but where does this ROM stand as far as recognizing SD cards?

After flashing to 6.1 your phone should recognize microSDHC (high-capacity) cards such as 6GB and so on...

That is great news and I hope it is correct. I thought there might be some hardware limitation but the phone has been flashed with a different ROM so one would think that the limitation would go along with the old ROM (should the new one incorporate the needed support that is).

I have managed to install Kavana wm 6.1 on my t-mobile dash. I have installed twice and removed twice. each time everything seems to work other that the keyboard. the right half seems to be mapped correctly but the left side is complete wrong. I don't know what to do? Is there a simple way to make the default qwerty keyboard work correctly?

I believe that what I've seen seems to make the upgrade worth while, but I can't get past the keyboard problem.

I have a T-Mobile Dash that I upgraded from their 6.0 ROM to the Kavanna 6.1. I just replaced my 2GB Kingston MicroSD card with a Patriot Class 6 4GB MicroSDHC card. Works perfectly - just plugged it in. I understand the 6GB and even 8GB cards work as well (from other posts). I have noticed that when playing on shuffle play, If I want to skip a song it will get a little clunky moving to the next one. But that may be due to having 700 songs on the card instead of 100 as I did on the 2GB one. Probably just stresses out the processor a little more heavily. But other than that, there is no difference in the way it operates.

Oh you, you're getting my hopes up! lol I have a friend who will let me test a 4gb card. If it works I will look into buying a 6-8gb card. I'm hoping it does work. Although my phone was made in china and provided to me by T-Mo. Watch there be some sort of hardware limitation.
