Yes folks... the one you've been waiting for... finally managed to get the patched AMSS to boot... a nice big "up your arse" to Qualcomm.

OK... so, here's the deal... download it, follow the instructions... NO, it won't work for your Kaiser/Artemis/Motorola MR1, so don't ask.

for those of you who are already Hard-SPL (and I mean those of you who didn't manage to completely fuck up replugging their USB); you may skip Step 1 by running it, then cancelling the rom update immediately... however, there's really no harm in doing it again, just remember the golden rule:

your PDA *MUST* be in WM and happily synced with the PC BEFORE running each new step.

CID unlock or SIM unlock first... ? The "better faster stronger ... :D" (Frenchy Daft Punk reference, as SFR may be the most discussed SIM locker ) method?

EDIT: as this package doesn't include any "readme" file (only includes exe), could you confirm that it does not require any process before? Is Hard-SPL update already included in this new pack?
Another detail: is there a requirement concerning the introduction (or not) of a SD and/or SIM card before updating ? And Sync or Reset (Hard/Soft) ?
A tuto of "what should be avoided" or example of "what should work" would be greatly appreciated!
If you can confirm that with a new original phone, ie. "without Hard-SPL", "without SD" "without SIM" "without reset" and only a USB sync, it's a good solution that should work, I try this ASAP! Thanks!

I was so excited that I couldn't wait for answers...
I tried this new binary, but my PC crashed/rebooted! please help!
I will try to explain as precisely as possible:
First, my system is Windows XP SP2. I was in "user mode" (not admin).
Then I connected my phone in USB, Sync (Ms Active Sync) and ran the PolarisUnlocker.exe.
Step1: I accept to flash Hard-SPL. I agree, and then the bar is displayed with 0%. My Phone asks for "accept the update" I say "yes". Then, the bar on PC is still at 0% and the PC reboots!!! After that crash, the phone is blocked on what should be the Hard-SPL screen? (a 3 color screen Polaris PFG SPL-1.00.1000 CPLD-2 with Replug USB Cable message at the top).
What should I do?
Please help, I'll do my best to give you all the feedback details.

EDIT: It seems that the only thing I can do now is removing the battery to put the Cruise OFF? Should I do a reset, and how? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've no more phone (and of course can't sync anymore to apply the process again)!
Optional question (not really important compared to that crash consequences): Do you have an idea of the crash reason?
Does this PolarisUnlocker includes an update of the ROM and Radio part? If yes, it updates the version to a newer one?

Thank you Oli for this offensive answer, even if I don't think my old PC to be such a shit :-)
In years of good services, it may be the first time that such a crash occurs!
And it's WinXP while my new PC runs Vista & Linux only (others like XP are only under VMWare and I did not want to tempt fate)...
As a remark, it may come from a bad configuration (ie my big fault :( ); for example, I had deactivated the power supply via USB on the phone, as I prefer complete charge/uncharge of the battery... May be an error.

To better understand the process, is there any technical document (datasheets...) on HTC & Polaris internal organization (it's my first HTC)?
I admit that whitout a good description of orga (like memory areas r/w/flashable, boot process...) the provided tools and their content are quite unclear ;)
From the forum, what I understand is that not all the roms are flashing the whole areas (radio part, OS+appli ROM part, splash screen part, ... hard reset copy/reset what part?), is it right? for each ROM it's not always clear which part is replaced or not...
and I can't understand where are the errors and the solutions...
Thanks in advance, if I can help in the future (and not too shitting in the present) I'll be here for feedbacks and/or contrib (or at least in a first time I would be pleased to make efforts to decrease annoyement if I understand the process or have links to the docs ) :p.

I succeeded in the two first steps but I didn't understand something in the last one. Each time it rebooted.

What do you mean by "configure your device" before running the unlocker?
Because nothing happened on my phone when I continue....

I got some messages after the second reboot telling me that some .exe were not executable...

And I just try to do it again (the whole 3 steps
And each time I start the Hard SPL installation it disconnect the activsync link... So I can't do anything...I tried on step 2 the radio installed itself but on step 3 nothing...

What do I do now?????
PS: It's not the first time I did this.

PS 2: Impossible to run some soft I installed and impossible to re install them again, I got a message telling the operation aborted...or the soft hasn't got the rigth certificate...

I checked the bootloader and it 's the SPL 2.20 but how to be sure that everything was good?

I tried again (PC=WinXPSP2, "power-user" mode, HTC Cruise SFR original) with the same configuration EXCEPT a change of USB port used on the PC, and allowed power supply from PC to HTC. And It worked till step 3 now!
I don't know if the pb came from USB port used, or power usage. However, Step 3 process did not succesfully remove the SIM lock. The screen for SIM and CID unlock was displayed on the PPC, I clicked apply, and then OK on the PC, to see this nice error message after running unlocker:

But Step 3 did not run, and the PPC asks for the unlocking code.
Maybe we should try the same order as the succesful tries, ie first updating the ROM to a non-SFR one before the SIM unlock?

Huumm... I just verify by entering in Bootloader and the disaster is quite less a disaster now, because I'm in SPL 2.20! Ouf!

But What i don't understand is that when I launch teh Simunlocker.exe from Olipro, it shows me that I'm not in SPL 2.20....but in something like 1.25.163.3 FRE (but maybe it's not the bootloader version but the ROM version)
So I'm quite afraid to do anything else instead I got an answer that everything is ok.

Quant à ta question sur le Step 3, je ne comprends pas, normalement au step 3 y a un soft qui se lance mais pas en bootloader , un prog classique.
Par contre quand toi tu rentres en bootloader par la manip du bouton photo + reset, effectivement tu ne peux rien faire dans ce mode là toi tout seul avec ton stylet!

About step 3 I don't understand your question. Normallyu at step 3 you have a soft launched and it's not in bootloader mode.
But if you, you decide to enter bootloader by presing photo button and reset it's normal that you can't do nothing in this mode!

You're using a cooked rom : 1.25.163.3 FRE based on original HTC FRE. Maybe something is not correct in your cooked rom.
Flash again with the one from ludo A.125.163.1 and use the unlocker.
Everything should then be ok.

Exactly the same, must be when U use a SFR ROM while trying to update with SimUnlocker. AS said before, Update your 1.25.163.3FRE to 1.25.405.1 (cf HTC FRE from Ludo) or cooked ROM (Bepe...). FOr example, can't run Sprite Backup anymore, but it's OK for GoogleMaps...

For french SFR user, you need first to CId unlock your phone, then install an other ROM and then sim unlock your phone, if you don't you will face the same problem as Fab 35 and me.
And the romupdate utility will never work again with your phone to flash rom (you will have to use the Rom.exe program for that, the updateutility.exe will crash your activsync link each time).

For the radio it will be ok.

For me work just fine, no need to flash a rom over the hard spl and sim unlock.
But the strange thing was using the tool from Olipro, gave me an error what the end, but the device is fine, don´t know why!

Quick comments, if it can help:
I tried again from the begining, but using the "old-style" process, ie first Hard-SPL+CID unlock and update from SFR ROM to HTC ROM; then SIM unlock with the LAST PolarisUnlocker.exe file (it seems that the first time I downloaded this file, it was not exactly the same! may be an update in-between?). I still have the Windows-error message at the end of step 3 (SIM unlock) but all works perfectly: my phone is CID and SIM unlocked, working with Orange SIM card.
Next step: try configs & softs, new ROMs, and fill my 8GB SD card ;-)

Just unlocked my O2 Orbit 2 without a hitch.
Works a treat, tested with Orange UK and Vodafone UK, will have to wait till Monday to test with T-Mobile, can't imagine there'd be a problem tho.

Hi there!

I'm trying to hard spl my phone also but I have a problem: It doesn't ask me to unplug the usb cable. The progress bar just goes to 100%.
The whole story: originaly the phone was in french, so I hardspl the device and upload the english version. All ok without any problem. For 4 days now, when I opened the device, it loaded windows until the logo screen and after it just turned off. So I decided to reflash it (restart, and hard reset didn't work). And now, I am trying to load different versions, but the result is still the same: windows is just shutting the device off. when reaching the windows logo.

Can I get any tips from the masters in flashing ?

Got an pola200(this one is going to be exchanged tomorrow).

as soon as somebody explains me how to extract a Radio rom from the device, I can supply you with the original radio rom that's in the Dutch HTC Touch Cruise devices.. Perhaps that'll fix it. I'm not sure.. but I need help getting it extracted.

Just trying to figure out a cell reception problem....phone still works flashing over 10 roms on it by now but the second flash i noticed cell radio reception decreased by 80% everywhere I go I get 80% decrease in cell reception....I know on a couple of rom flashes I did not replug the usb and flash still went fine at least it seemed....

Yes folks... the one you've been waiting for... finally managed to get the patched AMSS to boot... a nice big "up your arse" to Qualcomm.

OK... so, here's the deal... download it, follow the instructions... NO, it won't work for your Kaiser/Artemis/Motorola MR1, so don't ask.

for those of you who are already Hard-SPL (and I mean those of you who didn't manage to completely fuck up replugging their USB); you may skip Step 1 by running it, then cancelling the rom update immediately... however, there's really no harm in doing it again, just remember the golden rule:

your PDA *MUST* be in WM and happily synced with the PC BEFORE running each new step.

I followed your steps one by one( I get a message saying YES or NO to continue using JumpSPL.exe) so I push YES and when I get to the Replug! part I take out the USB and replug the USB as instructed. I notice that I lose my ActivSync connection (obvious because I just unplugged it) and when I replug it there is a long pause then I get this message.

ERROR 260 : CONNECTION
The update utility cannot connect to your PDA phone. Please check that your USB(which I disconnected) cradle/cable in connected properly between your PDA and PC

Also i make another test, I put two Cruise side by side and the "original" has 3or4 bars and the unlocked never get more than 2.

I already made a hardreset but still the same coverage problem.

Could someone explain how to revert this?

I've a HTC touch Cruise simlocked from Orange France.

I've gone a long the first steps, done the activesync, and with polaris unlocker, i've a message SPL Flashed and then during step 2 i've recieved some messages about taking cautions in my HTC that i said ok! And suddenly during step 2 i had a message "ERROR 206 Connection" and my HTC screen gets with a Red, Green Blue and White bands with a message in red telling me "Replug USB Cable!" and:
"POLA100 MPG
SPL-1.00.1000
CPLD-2"
over the red band.

Then i've unpluged and repluged the usb cable, and i went to the polaris unlocker apllication again to click in the step 2 "Unlock Radio" active option and nothing appens besides that awfull message on the screen of my HTC that still there....

Did it happen with someone else !???
Please HELP me....

It happened to me (because I did not manage to do usb unplug/plug as quickly as program expects) and i resolved removing the battery and put it back again.

With that the phone restart normally.
Then I restarted the unlock procedure (restart the Polarisunlocker program) and this time keep your eyes over the phone and unplug/plug the usb as soon as you see the blinking message and continue the rest of the process.

Maybe you must check the problems with the radio (in my previous message i said how i resolved it)

But now I can't connect any network. I have tried to search for other network manual but no joy. I have tried my sim in other phone and it still works OK.

I started with

The software worked like a charm and succesfully removed the SIMLock (French SFR device). Big thanks!

As a second note: I had to upgrade the radio ROM to a Murata version after that in order to get better and stable GSM signal, but that's another issue.

If I understand right (sorry for my english), the Polaris unlock flash the Radio-ROM too, and some people here complain about lost or very bad reception after that.
Is there any way to just SIM unlock without flashing the Radio-ROM?
I try to dump my original Polaris Radio and ROM before do anything, but still don't understand the complete process.
Any advice could be very usefull.

After Unlocking my Cruiser I had the same problem as some people; "no signal" and I flashed Murata radio and the signal is back but it is taking like 5 to 10 minutes to get the signal after every softreset. Is it normal? Has anyone having the same problem? Any solution?

I didn't see any post about using MTTY on Kaiser.

If I did a bad ROM flash with my previous device (HTC Universal), I could always fix this by clearing the FAT table with MTTY.

Believe me... if you flash and it stops ad 85% you will be very happy if you can use this tool!


Reason I started this thread is to help out people who are having such a problem with there Kaiser!

This is the correct procedure to get you out of trouble


1. Stop ActiveSync, by Task Manager (press Ctrl + Alt + Delete)
kill two processes rapimgr.exe and wcescomm.exe

2. put your device into the cradle
3. Run mtty and Choose WCEUSBSH001 in 'PORT' (if it doesn't show then you didn't stop all active sync processes above!)
4. type "set 16 0" without the quotes to tell bootloader to boot the OS after reset. (for some devices it can also be "set 14 0")
5. type "task 8" to get your device formatted
6. type "task 0" to ask your device reboot
7. take the device out of the cradle, and manually reset it if it does not do that already.

Incase of an emergency it could be very helpfull I think!

The 3 color screen is what you want, and it shouldn't matter if you don't get an active sync (I don't have one when I flash). Just make sure you're connected to the PC and run the ROMs CustomRUU.exe. You should get the pop-up and be able to proceed with the flashing.

Hello everyone,

I've just flash my Polaris last night and i have only one error message during the last step.

Is it possible to provide more comments about the check box in the last step "unlocker".
Because the are 2 check box and 3 button, and i am a rooky in that kinds of manipulations i do a commit based on luck.
So if you can give in the first message of the thread more information about thoses options it could be really interesting for all.

And to conclude, on the unlock step, when i click on the commit button, 2 messages appear : one precising that an error occur during the operation
and the second one (appearing in the same time then the first one) saying that the operation ended correctly.

And after a reboot, all seems to works correctly.
I've tryed a Bouygue tel card and i was able to phone.

So, congratulations for your job, it's really fine.

Yes folks... the one you've been waiting for... finally managed to get the patched AMSS to boot... a nice big "up your arse" to Qualcomm.

OK... so, here's the deal... download it, follow the instructions... NO, it won't work for your Kaiser/Artemis/Motorola MR1, so don't ask.

for those of you who are already Hard-SPL (and I mean those of you who didn't manage to completely fuck up replugging their USB); you may skip Step 1 by running it, then cancelling the rom update immediately... however, there's really no harm in doing it again, just remember the golden rule:

your PDA *MUST* be in WM and happily synced with the PC BEFORE running each new step.

I like many on here am suffering the bad reception after the sim unlock. If I run Oli's software right through to Hard-SPL, patch radio and unlock can I then add the Murata radio ROM and the Hard-SPL-V2 SPL to a Custom ROM im making.

So my custom ROM will consist of a OS (custom WM6) a GSM (Murata) and a SPL (Hard-SPL-V2) but leave the SPLASH blank will my Polaris then be still SIM unlocked and Hard-SPL'd everytime I hard reset or load a new OS?

I'm just thinking exact the same question... If the unlocker flash the Radio before unlock, and after that the reception goes bad, install the official WM6.1, flash the original Radio again... and the reception?

Sim, fui exactamente isso que fiz. Instalei o Hard-SPL, instalei a radio especial, corri o programa de desbloqueio no PDA. Depois de já estar desbloqueado, instalei a ROM oficial. Foi apenas e só isso que fiz. Correu tudo às mil maravilhas e está tudo a funcionar perfeitamente. A força de sinal em Sintra (que é o sítio do país com melhor cobertura 3G) é máxima, tenho as barras todas cheias.

English:
In just confirmed my unlocking procedure of "Polaris Unlocker.exe": flash Hard-SPL, install special radio, run the unlock program in the pda. After that I installed the official 6.1 PTG ROM and it is all working perfectly. Maximum 3G/HSDPA signal.

It doesn’t work.
3.after this i read many treads, I upgrade Net framework, I update the rom once more, I do it with Hard -SPL V2 before.

in all rounds I become not the opportunity to set, after unlock the device.

To inform, the lock is from SPL france.

I hope I have send all details from my unsuccessful work to day.

Sorry for disapointing you but the unlocker does not work !
I have a Touch Cruise 3650. I bought it in Greeece with cosmote provider.
I wanted to use TIM provider so i did the steps like the 1st post says and the
instructions from the application (polarisunlocker).
First it did HardSPL my device (i had it already hardspl). Then it put the "patched radio". And last it copied a .exe file to device and execute it and it says "read" cid. So i did read cid and it gave me "htc__001" and i change it to "00000000" and i "commit changes" as it says in the tool. It said that the cid was changed and the program was ready to close. I reastart my device and i put the sim code but .... NOTHING happens.
Again i can not register to the provider.
Is the tool working or it has somekind of code to support a group of countries.
I did the unlocking step by step 5 times but again NOTHING happens.

So ...

what i'm i suppose to do ... (and the solution is not to return to the first provider).

The exactly similar problem happened to me as I couln't unlock my God-damn O2 to use Orang sim-card (UK).I, not only tried for several times, but also did it in both XP and VISTA...All of them turned to be NOTHING!!!!....But the main POINT is here...You have to change your Radio,once more, to Radio Murata found in link below:

Hi! I'm having problems using the Unlocker. At the first time I ran the whole process and no problems. Then I flashed it with another radio version and only after that I tried to insert the SIM card and verified that it didn't work. So I tried to run the whole process again in case anything had gone wrong and now I can't get past step 2. When it reaches 100% and is finishing I get an error: ERROR [226] : FLASH WRITE, FLASH write error has happened. Please check your PDA phone.
Then it get's stuck in that red, green and blue screen. However if I repeat step 1 I can restart the HTC normally. Any suggestions? What should I do?

Btw, the version of the radio that I flashed before trying to insert the card was the 1.65.30.09. I also verified that by flashing this radio version again no flash error occurs. Any ideas?

Update: I managed to solve the problem but seems like my phone hasother problems :( It wasn't working because to downgrade from the radio version I installed I had to install another radio version and only then I managed to get through step 2. I performed all 3 steps and it said the phone was unblocked. However I have already tried 3 different SIM cards and none of them is recognized by the phone. I've searched google and it seems that the "missing SIM card" problem is usual to happen in Polaris :( It seems I'll have to request the seller to give me a new phone...

Will this Hard-SPL v7 work on my XDA Orbit 2 AKA Polaris, too?

Hi, Im having the same problem whenever i try to load a radio rom... I cant load any version of radio but the 1.65.30.09 not even the OLIPRO one, in consecuence I cant unlock my HTC Touch Cruise 3650. it stuck in the 2nd step and my htc in bootloader and goes no further I have to run the 1 step again and my HTC comes to life again. it has this rom: 3LIT3_VIII_Full_WWE that i could succesfully load and the radio ive mentioned. It originally had a ROM from Claro Argentina, if this helps a little. Its driving me nuts, guys it is not that hard, right? also, the version of USB cable that comes with this htc down here in argentina its the simple mini USB, not the one that has one rounded corner original from HTC, could it be that? even if i could load roms and the radio ive mentioned? and has the same number of pins (6) and fits perfectly? THX guys and i hope to solve this ASAP!!!

Ok, problem Solved... it was the radio, for some reason there are a number of Radios that are not compatible with this polarisunlock method, so, after doing extensive trials, the only radio I could load was the 1.58.21.23, only then, the Radio Patched from OLIPRO worked... Well now trying to load radios that work OK with my ROM and Provider: 1.59.xx.xx I guess...

Instaled rom: c_shekhar_Pola_318931aCS_Build20931_Public

Due to testing of incompatibility of bluetooth, wifi and camera, I tryed almost every rom but there I got problem with downgrading of radio version.

at first step, when hard spl is installed, there is all OK
but after second step I recieve next message: ERROR 226 FLASHWRITE!

what is strange, your program showed me message: Your devise must be unlocked, configure it, synch it and continue with step 3.
I am unable to do anything with cruise, becouse its freezed on collor screen with olinex 2.20.01 information.

Is there any chance or way, how to destroy previous radio and instal older version of it, if we speaking about version 1.65?

Hello, I had the "incompatible device" error at step 2 (patching radio) and it was because I had the "phone" function turned off. I turned it on and it worked perfectly. I hope it helps someone.

OK... so, here's the deal... download it, follow the instructions... NO, it won't work for your Kaiser/Artemis/Motorola MR1, so don't ask.

for those of you who are already Hard-SPL (and I mean those of you who didn't manage to completely fuck up replugging their USB); you may skip Step 1 by running it, then cancelling the rom update immediately... however, there's really no harm in doing it again, just remember the golden rule:

your PDA *MUST* be in WM and happily synced with the PC BEFORE running each new step.

The patched radio worked to unlock the HTC, but not for work with my new operator, the HTC was saying me "No network".

I've upgraded to the original WM6.1 Spanish ROM from HTC website, and now my HTC is working with any operator!!
