so far no, it runs really nice. i havnt got the keyboard to work tho, but it doesnt really matter. all i need is the touchscreen, and 1 button to hold down for the right mouse click button.

Some tips and info: The game takes a few seconds to startup, so don't click the executable twice. It WILL run twice... at the same time (duh). lol

For me, the mail key is the one you hold down for right click.

yea i edited the shortcut in my start menu so it says "Warcraft II (Wait for load)" incase anyone else is ever playing on my phone and wants to play warcraft.

I've been playing this game from time to time since my first wm device (hermes) and I can confirm, that this port is tha bomb.

...but one thing have crossed my mind. did anyone consider at some stage to port Diablo? Diablo II would need to much resources, but 1 should run just fine. that would be something...

btw: I was trying to play diablo on psx emu, but... You know. it's not working well on kaiser. about 14 fps at most :(

Warcraft 2 does indeed very smooth, have it running on my kaiser for some months aswell and I have no complaints.
For those interested in this type of game, I also suggest Age of Empire port for PPC, which manages to be even better then Warcraft, specially graphics wise (at least it's my opinion).

Under QVGA (which is the kaiser's res), there is Xscale, arm, and Full Release. Download the Full Release.

I'm sure you did this - but I just followed the directions off of the n0p's website:

Install instructions:
1. Download Full release and unpack it to some temp folder on PC (for example, c:\Wargus )
2. Download Latest update for your PDA's processor - XScale or ARM. Unpack it to same folder. Confirm overwrite if asked.
3. For english campain description - download and unpack Grzes.rar like in p.2
4. If your PDA is low on memory, wipe Data\Sounds and Data\Music folders from c:\Wargus
5. Copy entire folder to your storage card.
6. Run stratagus.exe. Please note - it takes a bit of time to load if sounds are enabled.

I DL'd and unpacked all three files into one (1) folder on your PC. So, full release file, ARM processor update file (for Kaiser / Tilt), and English instructions file. Unpack / Unzip all files into the ONE folder. I named my folder "Warcraft2". I then copied the entire folder to my storage card utilizing Activesync. Find and copy Stratagus.exe, paste shortcut into start menu (for ease of access). Run stratagus.exe - and the game should work.

For lazys, I compiled an English, ARM Startagus folder, just put it in your Program Files folder and then shortcut the .exe to your start menu.

a member of a forum (which i cannot mention, it may make me retarded (hahaha)) has gone through a lot of work converting the audio file to .xm, and re configured some settings, and thats why the music worked in my video, i obtained the files from him.
Here I've uploaded Warcraft 2 working great. however im not sure how to fix the keyboard issue, but it doesnt really affect me cuz its mainly a touchscreen game.
This .zip archive I've uploaded was actually uploaded for someone else, so I have changed the key configuration to work on his HTC Touch. In This version the left software acts as the right mouse button (when you hold it down), however, i prefer to start menu button. To change it back to the start menu button, just go to WC2 folder and open POCKETPC.LUA. There you will see "112, 8, 0, 0, --- Tap as Right MB" change the "112" to "195"

when your in a game now go to the options, you have a lot more options. thru the menu there isnt much except change your resolution.

yeah when you pull out the keyboard on the tilt it seems to think that your are in portrait mode instead of landscape. And I'm having trouble with the controls ....

Is there anyway to get the cheats to work? I've just about completed the human campaign, but I'm on one of the last levels and can't find one of the last guys so it won't let me finish the level. The cheat, however, would. But I think they are case sensitive and you can't type lower case, only upper case by hitting caps lock and typing.

I cheat too - and I can't with this version! also curious because it does bring up the command prompt when you hit the center button...so, I'm guessing there's no easy way to get it to recognized the whole keyboard? Apologize if this is a silly question.

edit: there's a cheats.lua so I'm assuming they're present in the game - only no way to type them in, am I correct?

Mine is 6.1, and Warcraft works fine. What problem(s) are you having? Open the word files in the Stratagus folder. Are there any 'error' messages (usually at the bottom)?

I found a fairly simple way to mmake the keyboard work in this game.

Open the keyboard, put the device in portrait mode, run Stratagus (Warcraft, whatever), the keyboard only works properly in CAPS.

After doing this, 3 .png files appeared in the Stratagus folder. They were 0 byte files, but it wouldn't run properly without deleting them.

All the keys didn't work properly (arrow keys were out of whack). I didn't get to try the cheats. After I installed TouchFlo Manilla 2D, Warcraft wouldn't run. I even reloaded from the desktop, Warcraft still won't run at all.

you have to type in "there is no aliens level" to activate cheats. Then most of the cheats from the orginial WC II game are activated. I think all of them are there except for "tigerlily" for changing levels.

So it won't let me end a level. I can't use the cheats since it is all caps, even with the "there is no aliens level" to activate cheats.

So I opened my saved file in the PC version of Wargus, ended the level and then saved it. Problem is my phone saved it as a .sav, while the PC version saved it as a .sav.gz. My phone crashes when I try and open the .sav.gz file.

Any ideas?

Bronx, sounds like you managed to get warcraft/sratagus to work on your hermes. I am having no luck, running wm 6.1, tried a few versions, replacing files, get as far as first game screen with the little orc, but won't respond to controls, screen or buttons, do you have any advice/remember what you had to do to make it work?
