How to enable alphabetic sidebar for contacts?

Hey all,
in WM6 there is (on some roms) a slim "sidebar" next to the contact list with A-Z on it.
It helps you navigate quickly. Does anyone know how to activate it? A friend of mine had it but accidentally disabled it, now we cant figure out how to enable it again.

If you do not know what i am talking about, you can see it on this picture (second row, second column):

It's called Random Access and you can search for it in the foruns now ;)

why arent this showing on your rom while in text message contacts? Theres not even the top alphabet? is this a bug? perhaps wrong thread to discuss this, but... :)

To disactivate the old "letter-bar" at the top of the screen you have to click: Menu-->Options-->unflag first option...

Thanks for the tip.

However, my Random Access bar only works 70% of the time. The rest of the time only a simple scroll bar appears.

It seems to work more often if I launch Contacts then fully exit and re-launch Contacts a second time. Wierd.

Anyone else experience this?

i installed this, but the vertical alpha list bar does not work.

i do not even see the app under program window. do i need to invoke this?

how do i make this work??
