i used to use hypercore but on my dads computer and now he upgraded to vista(his computer crashed so i installed vista)

Please don't take this like I'm trying to be a butthole. I'm really just trying to figure out the whole custom rom scene so I can get my Wing working the way I want. You call your rom "clean" but then list a bunch of applications that aren't built into wm 6.1.

The tweaks I get, but to me it seems that if you are making a clean rom, it wouldn't have any 3rd party apps. But maybe I don't understand clean in context.

And for us new people, could you explain what exactly "Carbon1.0" and "CleanVista" mean / why we should care?

Finally, Thank you. I really am glad there are people willing to put work into these things and share with the rest of us. Keep up the good work.

custom roms are just handy instead having to install all these apps.
and i call it clean just because i used the "JustClean ebo" kitchen.
carbon1.0 is my kind of like "open touch" or "touch-IT"
then vista part is because most of the apps are vista skinned.
hope that answers all your questions.

I'm actually flashing my phone as I'm typing. You should see this in a DOS window if you are using USPL:

If all was OK hit ENTER and the standard "PDA Phone ROM Update Utility"
window will start, allowing you to flash patched SPL on your device.

if you did and it didnt work then just go to "flash center\RUU" then click where it says rom update utility(make sure the downloaded .nbh is in the RUU folder

Audio ..... AudioManager nothing more to say. Two thumbs up

Battery ..... So far seems very strong as running wifi , full back light, installing and un-installing, playing with UL and BatteryStatus. And also been messaging with pictures.

Blue-tooth ....... Only one small problem I noticed using 3 blue-tooth units on it. When I press the blue-tooth to answer it doesn't answer the phone, I have to press answer on the phone.

Calculator ........ Is working with no flaws. Guess this will be checked for now on as a few have asked on more than 1 occasion about it.

Camera ..... Sweet with the easy settings for storage as you open it the first time. Using it with palringo.

Games ....... Added 2 games and 1 is a favorite of mines dopewars.

MMS ....... MMS .. Working sweet as can be .....

Phone Key Pad .... Its black like I like but for some reason i wanted more. Like almost a three "D" effect on the keys. Maybe a shine to them as well.

SMS ....... Another perfect out the box.

Texting with Keyboard ...... The keypad letters all work fine & so do the symbols.

Voice Command ...... OK big version added . Have yet to play with all the features but I don't hear peoples names when calling.

Wifi ....... Worked smoothly but when you aren't using it seems to disappear until you keep playing with it and then it returns.

Windows Media ...... Doesn't want to play much of anything and there is no other included player ... Not nice .. :(

Ok with this rom it has its own smoothness. The install of programs seem fluid so the rom melds with other programs quiet well. I have a line on the bottom that I guess i must reg-edit to remove as I already removed the contact line. NOpe Just saw it go away when I closed out palringo.

So if you want to complain about a rom remember if you don't speak up and tell the cook what you do and don't like then don't say anything at all. The cooks here are doing this out of appreciation , admiration and love of the art of cooking. If you think it is so easy then put out your own rom.

When going to the start menu the today screen wont open from pressing today. I have to goto Start > Settings > Today in-order to use it on my phone. Now that I have seen this problem in many different roms I will have to say its more than likely the t-mobile wing which has this issue.

im actually working on skins for apps(dialer, audiomanager, windows media player.) and as for windows media player not working, i accidently deleted "MediaOS" from the SYS folder.

oh and screenshots would benice.
i forgot to get some but now im at stock tmobile rom because i have to exchange it so screenshots would be nice :)

Just downloaded this rom to give it a try. Had previously done the HardSPL and then used flash center. Everything went fine, it told me it was done updating and it rebooted.

Now I have a picture of a chick with Carbon in the background and nothing else ever happens.

If I do a hard reset, I still am stuck at the chick.

how long did you wait for the actual rom to start up? on first start, it takes a bit longer.

did you HardSPL your phone and then flash with USPL? I'm pretty sure thats a no-no.

try again from bootloader. it'll work the same

Okay I just flashed it. Just had to try it. I like it. Nice choice of apps.

I lowered the pagepool to 4 mb -- I see you had it set at 6. It seems pretty stable so far.

After talking off HTC home I get 35 mb free Storage and 30 mb free Program memory. Nice, I can live with this.

I like the games you changed out and including a reg editor with total commander is handy indeed.

The only thing that is buggin me is I that I cannot get rid of the X-Button. I uncheck the boxes in Task Manager but it comes back after a soft reset. I really prefer my PBar over X-Button. Is there a way to deactive it in the registry?

Overall seems like a great rom though. I'll test it out more fully tomorrow. I installed TCPMP Player to my stroage card. So far works great.

as far as X-button, ive never used any other task manager so i never really tried to deavtivate it.

EDIT:
try this.
first backup the task manager app from windows.
then disable it
then delete the task manager app from windows.
if something goes wrong just put back the task manager app.

I am having the same issue. I get the chick with carbon in the BG. But When I connect / disconnect it to the computer, the computer does not recognize that I connected it. So, when I try to run just the RUU I get a 260 error.

Please tell me that I didn't just brick my phone. Or, if I did... how do I undo it?

hold the camera then poke the hole on the side.
you should get tricolor screen.
from there run the RomUpdateUtility.exe then just keep clicking next.

DO NOT USE "herald-uspl.exe"

No good mate ... the new version just hangs on the first boot screen ...... :(

Okay I just flashed it. Just had to try it. I like it. Nice choice of apps.

I lowered the pagepool to 4 mb -- I see you had it set at 6. It seems pretty stable so far.

After talking off HTC home I get 35 mb free Storage and 30 mb free Program memory. Nice, I can live with this.

I like the games you changed out and including a reg editor with total commander is handy indeed.

The only thing that is buggin me is I that I cannot get rid of the X-Button. I uncheck the boxes in Task Manager but it comes back after a soft reset. I really prefer my PBar over X-Button. Is there a way to deactive it in the registry?

Overall seems like a great rom though. I'll test it out more fully tomorrow. I installed TCPMP Player to my stroage card. So far works great.

Audio ..... AudioManager not working .. It just keeps going thru the whole list of music thats on the sd card but no music is playing.

Battery ..... So far seems very strong as running wifi , full back light, installing and un-installing, playing with UL and BatteryStatus.

Blue-tooth ....... Only one small problem I noticed using 3 blue-tooth units on it. When I press the blue-tooth to answer it doesn't answer the phone, I have to press answer on the phone.

Calculator ........ Is working with no flaws. Guess this will be checked for now on as a few have asked on more than 1 occasion about it.

Camera ..... Sweet with the easy settings for storage as you open it the first time.

Games ....... Added 3 games and 1 is a favorite of mines dopewars.

MMS ....... MMS .. Seems to have a bit of problem connecting to T-Mobile MMS. Been doing that for a while trying to find someone to send me a MMS now ans see what happens but sending one isn't working. OK .. Guess Just needed a few resets .. MMS is now working for small MMS messages bigger ones so far have not worked. OK 1 more reset and now big MMS is also working .... Then again this is a customers phone maybe his phone needs more help.

Phone Key Pad .... Is all white on the today screen background. Cant see no numbers and when you hide the keypad the top line is missing its a big blue bar.

SMS ....... Another perfect out the box.

Texting with Keyboard ...... The keypad letters all work fine & so do the symbols.

Voice Command ...... I dont see it .. Maybe its hiding ...

Wifi ....... Worked smoothly once connected but took a bit of time to get on the first time . Easy each time after that.

Windows Media ...... Plays music quiet fine. But doesn't play video.

Ok with this rom it has its own smoothness. The install of programs seem fluid so the rom melds with other programs quiet well. The memory is increased which is a big plus.

But it doesn't seem as powerful as the first version. Many new errors seem to have popped up. It seems as if the improvements that were made hindered the overall outcome. Now phone calls aren't working let me reset it .... OK that helped I can make calls again ...

HURRY AND GET A PHONE TO TEST ON MATE ..... LOL

So if you want to complain about a rom remember if you don't speak up and tell the cook what you do and don't like then don't say anything at all. The cooks here are doing this out of appreciation , admiration and love of the art of cooking. If you think it is so easy then put out your own rom.

When going to the start menu the today screen wont open from pressing today. I have to goto Start > Settings > Today in-order to use it on my phone. Now that I have seen this problem in many different roms I will have to say its more than likely the t-mobile wing which has this issue.

The rom is impressive . Fast moving with a nice added change in background between portrait and landscape views.

I hope my review of this rom helps many in their questions as I tried to cover as much space as possible. And once again thanks to kidnamedAlbert for allowing me to be on the beta testers team . I feel so special now.

Awesome. Yeah, this time it worked. I will leave this ROM on there for a few days and see how it works. I have yet to find one that didn't annoy this crap out of me with one thing or another, but then again, I have only tested like 2... this will be the third. The first one popped up the comm manager any time you tried to open or respond to a text, and the second one didn't allow the X in the corner to work. I see that you at least have an attempt to fix the failing X.

Anyways, I am going to go to bed for the night. I'll post more on this ROM later.

well I was laying in bed playing around with the phone and trying to set up my setting before I actually went to sleep.

One thing - Can you make the BG a bit darker so you can see the buttons better? This can be fixed by simply changing the BG, but like I said before, I kind of want to see her. LoL.
And yes, the buttons on the dialer are white. No numbers... just white.

Okay -- not sure what rom I have but I just flashed it yesterday and you already have a new one?

Okay been testing it all day its pretty smooth even though I lowered the pagepool to 4 mb.

My big thing is listening to streaming internet radio all day. It worked good. Seem to get more battery life than with other roms. Some of the stations -- weird thing happens -- it dials the last number I called. Not sure if its the rom or rather the TCPMP player conflict with the dialer. It does it with this rom.

Some roms it doesn't do this -- Like ICP-Touch 1.1. It may be the dialer he used. Still trying to figure that one out.

Anyway I like the rom and will use it for awhile.

I really do not like the numbers being white. I had no idea how much I actually used the buttons rather than going to contacts until I tried to call a number in which I had to spell it out. I ended up having to write the numbers down and what letters go with each number so I could dial it. LoL.

2) Is the contacts/organizer bar at the bottom supposed to be gone?
3) (This one pertains to all ROMs that I have tried so far) How in the world do I get the phone to read the SIM card and automatically show in the contact list? As is, I have to import all the numbers into the phone. Which isn't bad, I just kind of liked being able to see the numbers straight from the SIM without using SIM Manager.
4) A little off topic but how do I get OM? You should include that in your next release. I love that browser!

Well mate let me see if I can help you since sleep wont take me yet ....

1.) that was his color choice you can easily change the background with any picture you have.

2.) Yes he hid it . I personally like it hidden as well ....

3.) Guess what .. Thats 1 a simple reg edit and 2 a simple program to show it is Schaps_AdvancedConfig_v2.0.2.0.

4.) Adding browsers goes to something itje said about so many people would want a different browser you can easily add it with a cab.

Hey this ROM is great but had to go back to your first edition cause for some reason i can't see the numbers after i pressing them on the dialer.... might be the skin ... also windows media player keeps looking for skins everytime i try to start it ...that i can fix ...other than that it worked great on my T-Mo wing..but like i said went back to your first rom lil more stable

before you flash any rom you MUST backup all your stuff because flashing will completely delete everything and start new.
so yes you would have to set them fresh

You can't seriously thing that reading 1 line is going to tax your time or the server... go to the ubuntu forums and see all the double, triple and more posts... they have a LOT more repeats and they're all very civil and helpful regardless. One of their rules is actually "don't say 'search the forums'"... very nice place to go for questions.

Yeah, I argued with my supervisor over which was better, the iPhone or Windows Mobile. We practically just talked ourselves in circles, so they're about even, I just don't want it. Apple's too late in the game for that.
