WM 6.1 Help!

HI guys!

I posted this in the WM6.1 thread........

Can someone please give me the exact instructions, i have downloaded the WM 6.1 ROM. My device has WM 5 stock ROM! I dont quite understand the step by step.....

The readme in the file is in unicode or summin.

Id appreciate it if someone can just draft me a quick step by step.........

This taken from Orefkov's translation, the way I understood it.

GENE WM61 WWE.
(c) mUn, orefkov WWE 6.1 for Gene.
Preparation of XIP and OEM's soft - mUn.
Assembling with SYS from the the official WM6.1 Kaiser - orefkov.
Entire software from the system part of Windows and OEM's software is left as is. PagePool size is 6 MB.


Installation.

Step 1. Unzip contents of "gene_wm61_wwe.rar" to a preferred directory on PC and change to that directory.


Step 2. BACKUP!!!

Since your OS is changed, then to use complete backups of the system, (i.e. Sprite Backup, SPB Backup) is impossible. Backup your PIM information (contacts, call logs and other) with program PPCPimBackup.exe.
[Basically just use "PPCPimBackup.exe", which you would copy to your device, (included in "gene_wm61_wwe.rar") to backup your contacts etal to storage card before you proceed with actual flash.]


Step 3. CID Unlock.

If on reboot of device you see in the left upper corner of screen in the second line "SPL 1.10.Olip", you can pass this point, otherwise read, what to make: For flashing of home-made ROM's for the beginning it is necessary to place on device HARD SPL - it is patched SPL, which makes it possible to flashing unsigned ROMs, and without checking of their regional belonging. For this copy program gene_hspl.exe to device, and run it. Device will reboot, and you must see version of SPL - 1.10.Olip
[Basically if on your bootscreen the SPL version isn't "SPL 1.10.Olip" then put "gene_hspl.exe" on your device and run it. Device will reboot and you'll see "SPL 1.10.Olip"]


Step 4. Flashing.

Sync device with ActiveSync, and run program ROMUpdateUtility.exe.
[Connect your device to your PC at this point, Sync with ActiveSync and run "ROMUpdateUtility.exe". Sit back for a couple of minutes and voila!

Aah..i got it to worK!! i hadnt run teh ruu updater from teh c:\drive :)

I had windows 6.0 installed, but now when i try to install version 6.1, it goes to the tri coloured screen, and stays at 0 percent, and says there is no connection.... Any Help?

i need help i have a sprint mogul and i put 6.1 wm on it but i want to go back to 6.0 can anyone tell me how to fix this problem.
