========================================
New Total $-32.48 (to recover cost of second Shift) USD after paypal fees and money transfers to purchase 2 of 4 devices, as of 05.15.08am

NOTE: All donations after the money is recovered for the second device will go towards the purchase of the 3rd and 4th device as originally planned.

Also, if you guys donate to the Shift Project, you don't get star by your name. You get a star by your name if you donate directly to the forum. Forum donations go to the forum servers and admin staff not the developers/project teams. We receive donations for this project to acquire devices and donate our spare time to hacking and expanding the device capabilities.

I wanted to use this to keep the community updated as much as possible...

- Shift Project Team speaking to several device vendors in an attempt to get sponsored discounts and/or devices. We are currently discussing possibilities with these vendors to determine if and how they can help this community, specifically with the Shift Project.
- Shift Project Team releases USBTool (tool acquired by team through certain resources, not written by the team) that helps those attempting to connect Vista to Windows Mobile succeed and release the liberate files. We wanted to get this into a few more hands to try and promote progress while we ramp up for the project.
- Shift Project Team codes and releases ECShift.exe (enter BootLoader app written by the Shift Project Team) for testing by community and other developers.
- Shift Project Team begins work on HardSPL. Even though we don't have devices to test, the basic framework for the HardSPL is being developed. Once we've collected enough funds for the 1st of 4 devices, this is the first item we will test and finalize.
- Shift Project team begins work on SD slot activation for Windows Mobile. Working with certain available resources, we've begun establishing the framework for enabled SD support under Windows Mobile. More progress on this once we have devices on hand as this cannot be tested without them. In the meanwhile, we're doing as much as we can.
- Other projects ongoing while we ramp up for Shift Project...more updates to come as available.

- 04.08.08: Core Shift Project Team orders two HTC Shift devices. One team member puts in approx $1000 out of pocket to get second device and keep things moving forward. Will recover money from continued community donations.

We aren't hearing a lot from the team, despite 2 Shifts being bought for them.... Any updates?

We are working on hardSPL as well as other items. Also, if you notice above please don't use this thread yet and thank you in advance for your time and understanding.

Also, in case we need testers, will you be available with your Shift?

Sure, I'm willing to help test anything that has already been tested on the test devices :p

I think the Shift seems not to be very popular anymore to go forward
finding the solution for GPS and Memorycard.

Shift Project looks very silent, isn't it?
It seems other gagets from HTC are more interesting. Unfortunatly.

offtopic:
I personally will not give a sh** for a slow Notebook
with Vista on a screen without delivering a glases any longer.
Or a WM 6 for dummies. For 1200 Euro I can buy nice other gadgets.

I am not complaining about my deal and it was on my own risk,
but it on me to find an idiot on Ebay who needs that, at the end of the day,
crappy peace of unfinishd expensive hardware as well.

Yes, I know what you might wish to me.
:D

I hate to say this, cause noones a bigger fan of cmonex and the rest, but for me the shift project is taking too long. I suppose you're working hard all of you, but I am outa here. Just sold the shift and bought myself a nice big fat 17" laptop instead. Got an acer 7720 w/ blueray, dual core 2 intel 2,2 Ghz prosessor, 640 gb harddisk, 1920 screen, geforce 9600gt, 3gb Ram and HDTV-support for less than I gave for the shift... :-) I am having fun now. I happily donated a few houndred $ or so to the project in the past knowing how great you all did on the athena project... I hope the people who are still checking this thread will get some benefit soon.

I had to edit this, I saw from a thread at GPS activation, that an update for shift is imminent, so don't take above title too seriously. Looking forward to the the result of the project.

I seem to be using my Shoft more and more, yest others are moving away from it. If anythign comes from the work the team is doing then I will even happier. But right now, all is good in my view...

i use my Shift loads, just not the WM side as it's still a bit crippled... personally i can't wait for the result of the Shift projects work... Opera mini is going to be out of this world when we have access to the whole screen real estate...!

keep it up guys... really looking forward to testing your work.

I donno why there are so many haters because more work isn't being done on unlocking/hacking up the capabilities of the Shift...

I just got mine, and effin love it... I'm an IT Consultant who loves toys like this, but just configuring it I'm noticing how many new possibilities of staying in touch Im going to have...

Give it a few weeks, and you'll start to see the limitations and deliberate blocks that HTC have put in the way of using the Shift to it's full potential.

i have to agree, i use my shift now from vista fully parked my tablet hp aside, but the phone is very important to me, if u see when the first post emerged and the time now u would find it a project taking very long time to surface "assuming it will ever be" what we need is just a status of this project, what is it lacking? money or time or difficulty, we can all help and test and do whatever it takes to help this project moving on, as long as we know what are the henders
