Just wanted to share this, as it may be important for somebody.
Just got my MDA Vario II (read replacement) back from the T-Mobile repair centre in Milton Keynes and it is now loaded with WM6 instead of WM5.
I don't know if that's a good or bad thing yet as I'm just starting to have a fiddle with it. Haven't loaded any apps or anything yet, gotta check compatability I guess.
Any comments welcome about that. Is there a comparison between the two anywhere that might help?

It's a HERM300 the same as all my previous versions.

Thanks muchly.

Mike

Almost everything should be compatible.

As far as differences are concerned, there are many and almost all of them are good ones. However, if the ROM you were given has lots of bloat then you may not seem much performance difference.

So far so good, everything is working well. Copilot 7 being the main one for me. SPB mobile shell v2 and SPB plus 4.0.2 seem OK too.
I have no idea if my ROM has lots of bloat or not I'm afraid (what does this even mean??). It works, that's good enough for now.
If there are any idiots guides to tweaking the registry (and the best things to tweak), and any suggestions of good registry programs (free or not are equally acceptable) I woudl be much obliged of you could post a link here.

Thanks muchly.

Mike
