Hi all,

My Hermes broke on me whilst travelling in HK, and I picked up the Polaris/Touch Cruise here. The Connection Setup has an entry for Japan's Softbank however looking at the modem details, it's using ai@vodafone which I believe (reading somewhere in xda-developers) has time-based billing as opposed to packet based (for their PC Direct package).

On my Hermes, I could make the new Softbank AP which should be for the PC Direct packet based :-

Would it be safe to run this on the Polaris/Touch Cruise too?

Tested it only briefly...

i am not sure if your second post works as flat rate connection. i doubt it, tho.

use the attached WIFIwakePOLA.exe instead of WIFIwake.exe for hermes. i patched the original for polaris. (i am not sure if it works on any oem devices, non-htc branded devices...)

actually, it looks like the password has been revealed and you can find it on the net although people do not really want to discuss about it openly. i have not tested it myself because i can automatically set up the connection with this wifiwake method by autorun.

Hi Qtotter,

Thanks. I got the info from the Softbank package for the iPhone 3G. So maybe someone will know more if it's for the flat rate connection (or find out soon after 1 month :D).

Thanks for the WIFIwakePOLA.exe!! Much appreciated!
