Hi All,

Welcome to my first post! I'm so new that my O2 Orbit hasn't arrived yet...I'll have it tomorrow and I've been browsing this site for a while looking for info. Good stuff here......
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Artemis

I'm interested in changing the ROM (pretty sure that's the right term) either to emulate the Touchflo in the HTC Cruise or go for an iPhone replica. This post has great info regarding the Touchflo route..... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=342298
Here's where my question kicks in........I could really do with a complete step-by-step idiots guide to doing this.
The post above is very good but assumes you're fairly familiar with what's happening. For example, I don't know what Vanilla is! I don't know how to follow this......Just activesync and run step 1 (uspl cid unlocking) then step 2 (flash rom). I can't be alone either.

Does the complete idiots guide exist or could someone help the newbies who need the kickstart & don't want to risk wrecking their xda's?

I've got no idea where to find the equivalent iPhone skin info.

Any help to get me, and hopefully others, started would be great. Thanks!

OK first, touchflo and iPhone themed ROMs look great, but they are very bulky and tend to be quite slowish. Most people who use them get bored with the looks and lack of speed and move to a different ROM. I personally would recommend any of Meschle's Vanilla ROMs, but thats up to you

Vanilla = a ROM made by Meschle. Its called "Vanilla" (i guess) because it is very light, its not oevrloaded with any uneeded features/programs and in a sense its just plain (kinda like how vanilla ice-cream is just "plain" ice-cream, not like honeycomb or raspberry ruffle.... lol) and usually one of the fastest.

Flashing a ROM = you may want to look here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=373941)

iPhone ROM = havent a clue, I dont really bother with the whole iPhone thing.

Latest Vanilla ROM here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365312)

Latest Touch ROM here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=371182)

Thanks Fobofo. Upgraded the ROM no problem.

If I change to another ROM, do I have to do the first step again or do I go straight to the second as it's already unlocked?
