View Full Version : HTC P4300 Business Edition ROM CE OS 5.2.1622 Build 18128 AKU 4.4 (updated 6/12/09)

jwzg

This is a 18128.0.4.4 ROM build based on PeterPetrelli's Wizard port of the AT&T 8525 WM6 ROM. It is a mix of old and new components, so if you don't like old stuff, you may not want to flash it. It is not built using the Hypercore kitchen (Tadzio's tools) so the ULDR space is still there. The today theme is the wasabi green HTC_default.tsk from the HTC 4350 official ROM along with the same green dialer and comm manager. When you change from or to the HTC theme, you must manually soft reset to change the dialer skin even though you click the "ok" on the dialog box. It's smooth, fast and very stable. The ROM is easily extracted, but I put it together as a factory ROM, so all of the programs are in the OEMAPPS package instead of separate. When you extract it for kitchen use, no OEM-side folders are in the SYS side.

Build 5.2.1622 (18128.0.4.4)
OS Version (edited by me) 3.62.2.3 (Actual is 3.62.502.3)

HTC Home 1.6 (not Touch related)

Here's another boring release to be flame fodder. This is a 18128.0.4.4 ROM build based on PeterPetrelli's Wizard port of the AT&T 8525 ROM. It is a mix of old and new components to it, so if you don't like old stuff, you may not want to flash it. It is not built using the Hypercore kitchen so it doesn't have the extra space. The ROM is easily extracted, but I put it together as a factory ROM, so all of the programs are in the OEMAPPS package instead of separate. When you extract it for kitchen use, no OEM-side folders are in the SYS side.

Build 5.2.18128 (AKU 4.4)
OS Version (edited by me) 3.62.2.1 (Actual is 3.62.502.3)

I originally included Sprite Backup HTC edition as well as Network Wizard, but one can be construed as warez even though it's found in the factory Tilt ROM and the other acts funny when installed as a package.

Hey jwzg!

Always been around with new surprises, don't ya?:p
I've just installed this build and up to now, no complains. Really smooth, stable and fast as mentioned!
I also already dumped to start cooking over it. Let you know how was it after flashing...but it seems ok. I got OEM, XIP, SYS all together.

Thanks for sharing...;)

AKU 4.4 is the adaptation kit upgrade used for the Kaiser and Hermes WM6 ROM's. It's not meant for the Wiz, but it is the most stable, ported base ROM there is.

epiamazzo, I'm glad you're giving this a whirl. I've had this ROM in .308 build sitting on my old laptop for almost a year. It was on my old Qtek 9100 when I lost it leaving China. I just brought over all of the OEM files and tweaked the .dsm files so everything would be in the right place if someone decided to cook it. The only thing missing is the Lockstream DRM files, and I don't think anyone knows how to make those work outside of their original ROM.

UPDATE: I'm going to put the Network Wizard back in, since I finally got it to work. I'll upload it in a day or two, but everything else should stay the same.

The ROM upgrade for the Hermes has that OS and build number. I just flashed one last week. The XIP was ported by PP and the drivers are taken directly from the .308 build. There wasn't much else done. Either way, it's still one of the best ROM's I've run for quickness and stability. Kind of a businessman's ROM.

I'm pulling the VoIP packages from the ROM for now. It seems that everything connects, but I can't seem to get audio from the speaker. I don't know what's causing it, but this is not an issue with .308 build. Network Wizard is back in and working. Other than that, no changes.

Maybe you should read the first post.....

This is easily the most stable rom since the Ingenetics / 318 build. I'm so impressed by how stable and responsive this rom is. I have yet to find a single bug in this rom. This is definitely a keeper in terms of wizard roms.

Keep up the good work jwzg.

I can't believe people are wasting their time with 6.1 builds when we have solid official base roms such as this. Likewise I can't believe that more people havent tried this rom. That's terribly disappointing. One unmentionable 6.1 thread on this forum has near enough to 800 posts on it, almost all of them issues with the rom. People would rather have a bug infested 'latest' build than something as solid as this. I will never understand that. I just shake my head.

jwzg, you have done an awesome job with this rom. It has to be the most stable wizard rom that I have seen. It's simplicity with no bugs for the businessman that adore stability.

Either way, it's still one of the best ROM's I've run for quickness and stability. Kind of a businessman's ROM.

Couldn't agree with you more. You've done such a great job with this rom. Worthy of a signature change.

PP I'm awfully flattered. I still have a few bugs to get out including a non-working BT activation of VSD (I think). I'd like to see a bit more beta testing on some of these 6.1 ROMS, but we'll never know the limits unless they are pushed.

I was wondering few things before I flash this rom.

1. Does it have micro office?
2. is there a way to get the sms/mms to thread like in the 6.1 rom?

How are the reports on blue tooth? any dropped or missed connections? Right now i'm trying a 6.1 rom and it drops my headset and i have to restart blue tooth and head set...

This is a great ROM. Many of the others (especially the 6.1 ROMS) are cluttered with loads of stuff that I'd never use and that slow the system down. This one is clean and simple and works really well. It means that I've been able to add just what I want rather than having stuff I can't get rid of.

Thanks very much!!

Forgiveness, i had read this thread. But my english translation by Google-Translator is very bad.

I think to understand, that this is only a OS, without unneeded Applications.
I has not read informations, that it will change IPL/SPL.

So i think, it's be G4-Safety. But before i get a bad surprise, i will ask about the G4-safety. (over-cautiously flash-beginner) ;)

In last time i has some ROM's tested, where i definitive read: G4-Safety. But there are some thinks, thats me not like: to many unneeded applicationes or some bugs there needs to fix.

how i has say: i search a very stable and speedy ROM, that is free from not needed aplicationes.
And i think, this ROM could be, what i search.

OK, i has searched for a direktly writen information "G4-Save". But the information is to find between the lines... :o

Thank you for the confirmation. Now i'm reassured...

So i will flash this ROM in the next time and adjust it on my needs for use (keyboard layout, settings and applications).

@leshan:

i have observed this also by other OS versions of 6 and 6.1. I think it is an Registry-entry, that is set this funktion.

I would like to test to change this Registry entry:
[HKLM\System\ActiveSync\Engines\{176F4FFD-F20C-4bd4-BDD7-01D0726C567B}\Settings]
SyncAfterTimeWhenCradled = 5 (Hexadecimal)

in this setting the intervall is around 2 or 2,5 minutes. if i has set "300", i mean, the period was arround 45 minutes.

So i think, the "5" can be setting to "1200" for enough time to completly load the Wizard on the USB-cable, before the next sync begins.

But i has this Value not tested!!

But i als know, there must be a other Entry in the registry to switch off the permanently polling intervall. But i don't know the Name of this entry and on whith position it is be to find. :(

Do you have the option to view all files checked in Windows Explorer?

To the beginn i had not checked the presence of this both exe files. I had update the missing registry entries.
After some waiting time i make a softreset. Then i checked if all updated registry entrys are completly present. But STK services not works...

Than i checked the presence of needed files: There are only present STK_UIPPC.exe and STK_service.dll.
The other missing STK files also has must showes as unhidden files, if they are present (so as in all the other tested OS; and they are installed whit insert SIM cart).

So i not have checked the Option "show all files" in FE.

If i copying some files into a folder whith name-identical files and regardless of whether they are be unhidden or hidden, it must get a warning: "overwrite?".
Because by the copy this warning don't got to me, i can say, that the files was not present.

After copying the both exe files the STK services are working.

I also have a cab file from T-Mobile, that install the STK services. But i'm not sure, if it's also needed some manually updates in the registry.

---

I has also got the problem with automatic power on and sync, if the Wizard is connected on USB. A wakeup by connecting is right. But if the wizard after the sync powerd off, he periodly wakes up after all 2...2,5 minutes.

I have find an other problem in the registry. So i have deactivatet the syncronization from e-mails in the activesync settings. But:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\ActiveSync\Engines\{176F 4FFD-F20C-4bd4-BDD7-01D0726C567B}\Providers\{c6d47067-6e92-480e-b0fc-4ba82182fac7}]
"Enabled"=dword:00000001
"Name"="E-mail"
"ReadOnly"=dword:00000000

It's say's, that the synconization from e-mails is not disable! (But i have the e-mail-syncronization disable in the activesync-settings and it's showes as disable)
So i have set the registry value "Enable" from 1 to 0 ("null").
A connect to USB will wake up the Wizard at first and he need first a completely ending syncronization after connecting to USB. Then can i press the power button and the Wizard sleeps in the follow time (by charging and if charged).

also, what can i use to recook this? I just want to add the theif protection program.

Thanks

I have none of these problems and I have used pretty much every ROM that has been cooked since WM5. While I'm not running this ROM at the moment I'm giving it serious thought. I just don't feel like changing at the moment. As far as the theft program goes why do you need to recook to add it just find the cab and install.

I need to recook it so i can put it in the extended rom, so if people hard reset, the program is till there. The person i bought the program from said he would teach it to me, but never got back to me.

Not abnormal. This is not the fastest phone made by HTC

That's a problem w/your hardware. My test Wizard does the same thing.

Another result of a slow processor.

Kirby, I'd encourage you to give it a shot. I do think this is probably one of the most complete ROM's out there that doesn't call attention to the cook. I'm thinking about cooking a version with Voice Command, but we'll have to see if it will hold it without using tadzio's toolchain.

hi jwzg,
i've upgraded my wizard to your second rom (from 21/3) and i have a few small issues:
- the wifi is still not starting from the first time(have to hit the button twice) and is not connecting to my network automatically. is this a wm6 problem?

- i'm using gsicq(icq for wm), starting it without a network conection will force it to close automatically making the task bar icon to disappear, but will take up the space of one icon each time i try to run gsicq(can see that any other icons will move left after each cycle). to clear the task bar i have to restart the phone. i didn't have this problem running gsicq on any other wm5 or wm6 roms.

do you know how can i make the power tray icon to start automatically after i restart the phone?

however, i didn't have any other issues with your previous rom running it almost a week.

Definitely love to give this a try if a version with VC is released. My custom 318 has been unstable lately for some odd reason.

For those that have used this ROM and the latest WM6.1 builds, how does the speed compare?

Hi JWZG,
This ROM is the more stable than i put in my Wizard.
My experience with the wifi bug related (not connecting to network automatically) happen in all ROMs. I have been accustomed.
The only rom that does not present this problem is XDA RC5.1
Maybe this helps to fix the problem more quickly.
If you can make it connect automatically in wifi network, this ROM become perfect for me.

Congratulations for you very nice job with this ROM.
PS. Sorry for my bad inglish!

I cannot make a VC version due to the fact that the factory AKU 4.4 ROM didn't come with VC. I can take out CVD altogether and release a ROM. That seems to be what a lot of people want. I didn't think about releasing multiple versions as this ROM is a "flash and forget" type that makes it easy on newbs and those that need a stable OS for business use. I'm having some issues getting VoIP to work properly. This package works perfectly on the 15342 build of the same ROM, but shows "searching..." on this version even though it is connected and works. I think this has to do with the dialplan.xml file, but I don't know or have the time to find out what I need to do to make it work. Can anyone help here?

do you have interest for the workin STK files and the registy-entrys as an CAB?

i would like to flash and test your new ROM in the next days (i think on the weekend).

If you can't wait (:D): I take the CAB file to the attachment, so you can compare the files and registry entrys.
The only of my (first) selfmade CAB is: i has set the optiones to "copy files, if not exist".

For view (and extrakt) the included files and reg entrys in a CAB file, i use "WinCE CABs Analyser", for building a CAB "Pocket PC Installation Creator".
(may be, there also give's better free software)

Guys, guys...

This phone already has the HTC dialer skins installed, and you probably can't install over them. When you start putting "bling" on your device, you can have a whole litany of issues from disappearing today screen items and screwed up dialer buttons. I am not going to release a clean version of this ROM, so you may need to look elsewhere unless you want to cook it yourself.

A2DP is fully functional and I use it on a regular basis w/my HS820's.

In a nutshell, this is not a very customizable ROM.

Hello jwzg,

i have flash the new ROM. The STK works and can only show the text-message but no the icon.

I think, the problem is the version from the stk.exe or the stk-service.dll.
Every time, if i delete the registry entrys under HKCU\ControlPanel\HTCSTK and if i reset the Device (after more as 10 minutes work with it), the entrys was new written.

This fact i know from the other (older ?) versions of STK, that i also have tested. It must be a version conflict.

To fix the problem is not possible because the STK-Files have RAM-Status and can't be to delete or overwrite.

How to fix this Problem? There are more as 2 ways:
1. no integrate STK-Files, so that the User even can install the correct files, that he needs
2. a new OS with other/newer(?) STK files (look to my CAB)
3. The STK-files should not be written with RAM-Status, so that the User can delete or overwrite the files for get a correct function of the STK-Service "Home-Icon".
...

greetings Frank

PS: The old problem with the permanently wakeup for syncronisations (if the device is of and cradled) is back again!

jwzg
29th March 2008, 01:46 AM
I'll see about the STK files from the new HTC Kasier ROM, as I have dumped it and am playing around with porting it at the moment. Is the wake up on sync behavior a device or PC issue? Can the sync schedule be set? If the device is hooked up to ActiveSync through USB, then it shouldn't be discharging and a continuous sync isn't really an issue.

fraham
29th March 2008, 04:07 AM
My STK files and reg entrys in my "STK... CAB" comes from the OS 5.2.19521 Build 19521 1.1.0 and working fine to display the "Home-icon" (by me a bubble) on my device for my phone operator "Vodafone.de".

In this time i have found 6 different compositions(/mixes) of stk files with different file versiones. But only the stk files from OS 5.2.19521 Build 19521 1.1.0 displays the Home-Icon, if i manualy insert the reg entrys as in my "STK... CAB"
All other compositions shows only the text-message "zuhause" (en: "at Home").
I think, it can be the combination of the STK-files like STK.exe, STK-service.dll, STK_UIPPC.exe and (may be) the STKTray.exe.

Sync:
if the Wizard is connect to USB: The sync initiate from the Wizard permanently roundly all 2,5 minutes on:
fall 1 (charging, device is off) => The Wizard wakes up and Sync started.
fall 2 (Work with ext. Power)

- schedule is not available (not on PC, not on Wizard)
- no files are changed, delete or new
- e mail sync is deactivated in the Options
but there are permanently wakeup's and/or sync-polls on USB, where normally sleep the Wizard, if there are no datas there must be sync and the Wizard is switched off.

This behavior on USB (permanently wakeup for sync) keep of a speedly charging on USB cable. So the "backlight"-settings must set to "switch of after..., if ext power"

only in the reg i can change the sync settings, exampely poll-intervall, disable e mail sync over usb, a.s.o.

, what's that? => no more sync's in the last 45 minutes!
there i has change the internet connections from web.vodafone.de to event.vodafone.de and swith the device off.
(But: i has observate some times before: one day it's works correct, the follow day is all by the old. So i will wait, before i can say unfailing "yes, works" or "no, dosn't works".)

Previously I set the place to save pictures to the storage card, but apparenlty it changed it to the bluetooth device, which caused this error. When you get around to it, there are some potential bugs you may wish to investigate:

1. Other programs (like Outlook, Camera, etc) can no longer save files directly to the memory card.

I've installed programs to the memory card, and they still operate. I still cannot get the camera to recognize that I have a memory card inserted, yet my today background grabbed the picture from there, and I have three apps run off the mem card. Outlook, which should be using space on the mem card for attachments (and I confirmed files exist from older attachments) shows I have zero megs available on the mem card (not true, I have 600+ MB available on a 2gb card). Its somewhat annoying, but hasn't stopped me from using this rom as of yet. I can provide screen shots upon request.

Hi jwzg,

flashed your ROM 2 days ago. This is the fastest version I ever had. Very good.

Do you know how I can manage it to change the SMS to thread-look? I searched in the forum, but can't get sufficient results. Thanks in advance.

Greetings from sunny Germany.

Glad you like it seafish. I've got another revision ready to go, if I can get it uploaded. Everything is now for a P4300 (HTC's own branded Wizard). Though I don't think an official P4300 ROM exists, this is the closest you can get. I may upgrade some of the OEM components if I can, but I won't be cooking until the summer. Work is KILLING me.

As for threaded SMS, there is not an application I'm aware of that permits this unless you get it as a cab from a Treo. Someone else will have to help out here.

jwzg,

do you know about the problematic "permanently wakeUp's and sync's" from some time ago is called?

<correctur>
The problem must be the Network Wizard:

I had deinstal the Network Wizard, checked the registry for entrys "Network Wizard" and delete this values, datas and keys.
After that, i have checked the "start => settings => connections => connections => advanced => select Network" and here the bottom field, that there is no connection defined.

Since this time are silence with WakeUp's and Sync's.

:( Sorry, but this is not correct!!! In the first time i have think it, while i have brake the wakeup for AS by connecting to USB. Now i have make a sync and the old problem is new present.

There must be a entry in the registry, that takes the effect: Switch of the device, so get's no new wakeups for Sync on USB => it's only load the battery. (the connecting to USB get a wakeup for Sync, but after switch of the device => only load battery)
but i don't know this entry.

Sorry for this false information.
<correctur end>

PS:
Have i right understand? You have a new ROM, that's waiting for upload?
My question: Have you take for this new ROM the STK-files from your first Version? (This STK-files works, but from the secound version the STK-files not works). If you need a working STK-file-collection with integrated Reg-Entrys, so i can give the CAB for you. I have a CAB for Vodafone and a CAB for T-Mobile and other collected CAB's. The TMob and the other collected CAB's for STK not working into the german Vodafone-Net. (provider-specifical files?)
Not works means: there are only the text windows (in some STK-versions self closed = no optic controll if being into home-area or not) and no show the home/bubble icon.
Or better: Please no insert STK-Files into the ROM. The users of the ROM can install the right files and Reg-settings, if the are provider-specifical.

(sorry for this bad english without a translator, but i hope it's understandly)

greetings Frank

First of all from What I read This is one of the best ROMs out there. Im a noob and I'm learning

I'm sorry if this question has been answered before, but How do you use the nk.nbf file in the rar? How do I put it in the phone? All I see is a nbf and nothing else.

plese any help would be greatly appreciated

You have to have a ROM update utility. This comes with most kitchens. Put the nk.nbf file in the same folder as the RUU, hook up your device and run the utility. It will flash the nk.nbf to the device.

Is it possible to use touch scrolling on this ROM?
It's basically the only thing I really miss.
All I need is touch scrolling so it doesn't have to be made by HTC.

The only .cab file I've found (attached) which seems to have the scrolling feature doesn't work (the scrolling - the cube works).

I used to use SNN Edition Version 3.0 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=383524) (which has it) but jwzg, your ROM is way better (for me - more stable).

i've read this thread, the wiki and the faqs, but one must admit it is quite a task, even for the technically inclined, to flash a ROM for the first time. i've flashed firmware on all kinds of devices, including my previous treo 750. i've had a computer for 23 years now. i am a .net developer.

i got a hold of the Hermes Cookbook. searched for HARD SPL. where do i find that? did i just download the latest version? found it, ran it from the mobile device and i get the screen i think i'm supposed to get. what do i do now? i can't connect the device to a vista or an XP pc - activesync doesnt connect. do i need to have a microSD card to flash with this ROM? i dunno. it doesnt say it anywhere.

i connect the device to the pc anyways and follow the instructions on the cookbook. CorePRO_HermKitchen, where do i find that? did i just download the latest version? started dumprom with parameter nk.nbf (is that what i want to do if i want to put this thread's rom onto my device?). 3rd step, wait, i don't have a RUU_signed.nbh file. how do i proceed? no clue. maybe if i spend 8 hours poking around the forum i will figure it out.

i am very appreciative of the immense effort many of you put towards making these tools and ROMs available. but i feel that there is still a little bit of a wall here keeping the noobs out. there is no glossary. what is an SPL? which tool goes with what ROM type? nb, nbf, nbh.

would someone please tell which tool to use and mini description on installing this specific ROM on my HTC 8525, which is SIM unlocked and Super CID unlocked?

thank you very much

Any chance you might upload this new ROM for us all to share?

This has to be the best ROM I have flashed till date!! I have tried several ROMs across, including those that claim to be the most widely used ROMs, having undergone several revisions, but none even comes close. I think the beauty of this ROM is that it does not have bling and everything works just right. I am one of those who gets irritated by even minor glitches so this works super fine for me.

Just one glitch experienced so far...If i enable the bluetooth on the phone before switicing on my bluetooth device, the bluetooth works fine. But if I switch on the bluetooth device first and then enable bluetooth, then although I can hear an incoming call via the bluetooth but pressing any button on the headpiece does not answer the call. In other words the headset becomes unresponsive.

Any reason why this is happening?

Peter, I've not flashed my device in over a month. I still have to upload this last version, perhaps in the morning. I would like to do a 6.1 ROM based on the Kaiser version with HTC branding. Hi,

Thanks for this really great and fast ROM.
A professional update to WM 6.1 is welcome :) thanks in advance

How to solve this amazing operator name resolution ?
Every latest Rom I have tested on my Wizard is unable to show correct Operator Name and does not sync time with operator. The only one which work well was "Wrcx 5.2.1437"
I always have BYTEL in place of BOUYGTEL.
I have tested a lot of registry settings under RIL, PhoneSetting, HTC\RIL from forum search but none works.

If someone have an answer I'm interested.

Woow: Seems to be a radio issue ... downgrade from 2.69.11 to T-Mobile UK 2.19.11 and time synchro works ... maybe operator name too.

This has to be the first time that I have read through an ENTIRE thread in one go!! i am extremely impressed by all the +ve comments!

this is possibly one of the most admired ROMs out there. BUT the absence of one little utility leaves me wanting just a little bit more......... threaded SMS.

the world is changing.... even email is now threaded.... old skool SMS managers are out... unless u use Nokia's excuse for a device....

so, doc, plz cook something up.... i am sick of TNTs n' Farias etc etc etc bloated ROMS with useless apps, half of which are never used at all!!

your ROM gives us biz users hope... plz... @least think about it with the will to make things change....

This ROM was set up for Cingular, so I don't know if you can't change a couple of the reg entries to get it to work with the newer radio ROM's. Mine uses the 2.71 ROM with no issues.

On a separate note, my phone keeps freezing up whenever I change themes. It will eventually start to function if you leave it alone for a few minutes. Has anyone else had this issue?

Not much, but certainly the closest to an official ROM yet for the Wizard.

Just wondering why this thread petered out over a week ago and when you had said to every one that you were JUST about to upload a new ROM to the forum?

What are the revisions with the new ROM you posted at the end of June and why has no one posted with reports on it?

Did you solve the VoIP issue on which you seem to have been working for so long? (The way every one else deals with this problem is by saying that they cant test VoIP as they don't use it!) I note that you cant get the sound to port to the speaker: Is this a hardware issue which every one else finds? Is there some significance to the fact (?) that none of the new ROMs contain VoIP? And some of the older ones have VoIP apps which dont execute properly

I am just losing a Hermes and bought a Herald which I need to repair so am using my Wizards again for the moment. It seems odd that the newer ROMs seem to have a lot of the features of the older ones (such as VoIP, which I haven't actually had working for a year or so!!) taken out of them?

Incidentally I am intrigued by your reference to the newest HTC Wizards being P4300s: I have a brand new Wizard provided by HTC and it is still branded T-Mobile! I thought that all these Wizards were pretty much identical with different names on them? ( BTW I DO also have an earlier T-Mobile G4 which was so much of a pain in the neck to flash that I took the screen out to use on another machine)

HTC actually sells the Wizard directly as a P4300. It is not advertised well, and it probably has the Cingular WM5 ROM installed. I just built the WM6 ROM as it might appear from HTC and the revisions are listed on the front page. Please don't badger the cook, as the ROM is how I like it, and honestly, if anyone wants to improve it, they are welcome to do so. I took out VOIP as I updated some drivers and it ended up not working well. I repeat what is common knowledge on the entire board: VOIP cannot be routed to the phone speaker right now, and I'm not working on it.

Sorry about that: I know only too well from a couple of years use that the VoIP sound cant be ported to the speaker on the Wizard: It was YOU who had commented on this and I thought that you were working on a way of overcoming this.

What I said was that this is a hardware issue. (not sure what you mean by "right now")

However I am sorry to note that whether it can or cant, like everyone else it seems, you have given up on VoIP. It is interesting to note that the update of drivers is probably what is preventing everyone from putting a working VoIP in their ROMs. I wonder if this is anything to do with people reporting VoIP not working on the newer Herald where it is specifically enabled for a T-Mobile proprietary service?

FYI, people seem to report that VoIP works better when overclocking the unit, though I havent heard anyone say that it works well. I did manage to get it to work well about a year or so ago when Schaps tool first came out but wasnt able to test it extensively as I didnt have a headset at the time so I had to speak to people on land lines while testing whether it was working at all or not on the Wizard. As I say, since then everyone seems to have deleted it from their ROMs and those who left it in stopped answering messages saying that invoking it crashed the module!

I didn't know that the company still sells the Wizard and thought that their supply to me of one (a T-Mobile one) was anomalous. It seems however that they have taken over servising the for the companies and therefore keep proprietary units for replacement.

I've meant not for opening programs, but for closing and navigating. If you have opened 2 or 3 programs, you can see them that they are open because they are shown like tabs on the taskbar. So you can navigate (switch between them) and you can close them more easily.

Though this is an older ROM, I still update it when I need something or get bored. The latest link is on the front page. I do believe it's now fully functional and needs no further updates. I got the Lockstream DRM running which is a bit odd, but had me baffled for the longest. Now you can choose any ringtone and the phone settings will act normal instead of deleting the modules from the OEMAPPS as well as the registry entries. It simply needed a registry entry in the boot.rgu.

Other than that, Vista Device Center will now take you to the HTC P4300 info page. I also added the built-in ringtones from the Hermes not found in the Wizard ROM's. The memory seems to be much less leaky on this ROM as well.
