I've searched and found some threads with similar questions but no definite solution.

Basically I use my pda for internet browsing and syncing with my personal email while at work.

To make it easier, i want to use a remote control program like MyMobiler. Problem is that when i connect via usb, the pda wants to switch activesync to use the passthrough connection of the pc. The work lan doesn't let me connect like this.

So, is there some way that I can still maintain the gprs connection even when connected via usb?

Some sort of preference of which sevice to use?

Also, anyone know of a remote control software that lets you expand the prophet resolution?

I tried dotPocket but it doesn't seem to work.

thanks.

ok, I managed to get this working...
I couldn't find any help on the net but I figured it out myself.

Connect your pda via usb.
Activesync will connect then disable active sync by unchecking "Allow USB Connections" in connection settings on the pc.

Your device will be disconnected.

Then start MyMobiler and select "connect to IP". Enter the ip address as 169.254.2.1.

And voila, remote control of the pda without activesync there fore still using your gprs connection and not work's connection.

Notice the "G" at the top.

And you may say "but now I can't explore my device from activesync..."
That's when I say ... "wait there's more..."

Use mobile explorer from the tools menu in MyMobiler.

Thanks for coming!

Hi,

Why you're not using SOTI Pocket controller pro 6.01? It connects over active sync or over tcp/ip (depending on the profile that you set up) and you can browse your pda and syncronise it with the pc. The synco is much better than the active sync.
