On wifi plays youtube flawlessly but the video stutters whilst on HSDPA...

Has anyone else got this problem ?

I'm sure I had it working pretty good before.

I do not know if your having the same issue as I am. I had flashvideo bundle and tcpmp installed and working fairly well.
Now I notice that I can barely playback any youtube vids.

Youtube + Other sites work fine for me, check the signal strength of your HSDPA connection as that could be the problem, or maybe your provider has put a cap on how much can be downloaded to the phone?

Not sure if that is it as the network monitor shows 800-900 kbps whilst streaming youtube.

Could it be the way that the packets are hitting the TCPMP whilst over HSDPA ?

It could also be the fact that youtube are constantly changing the way their videos are accessed.

What worked flawlessly on my PC last week, no longer works this week (due to country limitations now). So if this is how youtube is going regarding PCs, expect problems on PPCs.

I've noticed the same problem viewing any videos. I'd give an answer, but I dont care enough about watching videos to search for an aswer.

I have been using the flash video bundle with tcpmp to watch video on youtube without any problems.

I'm new to this and I came across Flash 7 for Windows mobile and was wondering if this is similar, the same, better or worse than what I have now. I didn't want to install it until I have more info...

thats totally unrelated to the flash video bundle

edit:
ok not totally unrelated but they are two different things. installing flash 7 is not gonna make your flashvideobundle any better, its not like an upgrade to it

Sorry. I posted this question in a new thread and the moderator specifically said to post this in a Flash Bundle thread and shut the new thread down. Obviously I don't understand the relationship between these two things and would like some info. The moderator thought this might be a good forum for that.

There are other web sites I visit similar to YouTube that have videos. When I try to access them I get the message to download the latest flash player. I'm not sure why they aren't handled similarly to the YouTube videos, but if there is a connection between the flash bundle and flash player 7 as it pertains to this issue, I would like to know. Thats all. If not, then I stand corrected...

"2.15 When I go to www.youtube.com, PIE hangs or my device hangs.

Some users have reported that the "Macromedia Flash 7 Active-X" plugin causes this hang and is incompatible with the FlashVideoBundle. You can try removing Flash 7 to see if it fixes this."

Thanks. This pretty much answers the question of compatibility. I have not seen the flash 7 plugin. Does it have similar/overlapping functionality? Obviously you have provided this bundle to play flash video so there must be some inadequacies to it (flash7).

I dont know what kind of problems you're experiencing but the new flash player is faulty (and yet, adobe does not remove the update from their site/update systems).
If you have it installed; there's a high chance that at a sudden point, videos will only play for 3 secs (without sound) and then stop.

the reason your phone plays youtube videos choppy when you are using hsdpa and not wifi is because the hsdpa signal is a highly compressed data packet that your phone has to uncompress which takes up a bit of your phones processor speed not leaving enough to play all of the frames of the video.if it really bothers you when using the hsdpa try downloading the video first then playing it first i guarantee it will play as smooth as silk.(before playing you also might want to close all other running programs as phones have limited resources ie. memory, processor speed.

Flash has become my biggest headache. I can play youtube just fine. The Youtube player in M2D update 20 plays smooth as buddah. What I can't get past is that half the internet gives me a message about needing Flash 8 or higher. Countless hours searching dead-end threads, useless links, and useless installs have left me without success. I can view most of these sites with Spyfire, but for obvious reasons, I prefer to avoid that browser. Opera is my default browser, and I dig it, but the Flash issue has me frustrated. PIE is no better. I can't even run a speedtest. I've run them with Skyfire, but because it's rendered through their server, it's inaccurate. I don't believe I'm getting 7.5MB/s with Edge, even tho my speedtests say so. If there's a way to get flash 8 content to run in Opera, it would be nice to see that info on the Kaiser Wiki, and eliminate all these threads.

As far as Youtube, like I said, it plays fine in the M2D update 20 package. I'm running the SPB 3.0 build 6411 interface with the M2D disabled in Today, and the youtube player still works fine.
