I thought it would be interesting to see how the Shift performs in speed tests of its 3G modem. There are many factors involved of course but this is unscientific. I would think it's better to run this test from within Snapvue if possible, assuming you've hacked it and installed a browser. Please post your country, test site used, and download/upload speeds.

It's supported here in the Netherlands.
They are even going to 7.2 (I thought it was that) this summer. :D

Yes, that rather depends on where you are based. In the UK, several of the networks support 3.6Mbs, and they are supposedly upgrading in the very near future to 7.2Mbs.
One of the advantages of being in small, densely populated, country I suppose! :)

is anyone in UK actually getting 3.6 or the spec provides for it?

Last time I checked the speed on T-Mobile, I was getting 1.8Mbs, but that was quite a while ago now.
I've got a 3 SIM too, so I'll give it a try when I get the chance and see what I get on both networks.

Dave

i would be curious to know, att here at least in my city is not that fast. i just ran quick from my phone not the shift and got 651 Kbs
seems from my rudimentary search 600-700 is norm for att HSDPA here in the states.

I am getting 3.2 most of the time, i am in London and use Vodafone sim, it's really the Shift that is limit the speed since if i use the HSDPA Adapter that comes with my sim card, i can get up to 7.2. Shift only support up to 3.6....

On Shift's spec, it's saying it can only support up to 3.6mbs
