Somehow when I did the new DCD kitchen 3.0 it did not include the MMS software for Verizon.. Does anyone have a .cab for this?

I did do a search for mms but there is so many mentions of it that I was not able to simply find a link to a cab for it..

Any help would be awesome!!

The new 3.0.1 Kitchen has the OEM's for MMS. You can build a new based on that kitchen or copy the MMS OEM's from that kitchen into 3.0.0

Is there a cab or something for it?? I just got the phone all set up again after this latest update (spb suite, other software, etc) and would like to avoid losing all those settings again doing the new rom just for that...

I believe there is. I have seen a CAB for it but I don't know if it will work. ( I havent tried it).

Because in the Kitchen there is two versions of MMS one for Verizon and the other seems to be universal.

There are ways to turn a CAB file into an OEM package, so I would assume that someone might be able to figure out how to turn an OEM package into a CAB file, or at least figure out where to manually place the files. I've never looked at the OEMs though, so I can't offer anything except hope.

if you have Sprint, I believe MMS wont work for you because they disabled it.

As of right now no cab file has worked for MMS. It has always needed to be cooked in to the ROM.

I cant remember where I got this and I don't know if it works..... TRY it at your OWN risk.... The Filename is VerizonMMS.cab.....

There is ONE key you MUST change and that's in:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader]

Change "X-VzW-MDN"="0000000000" to "X-VzW-MDN"="yourtendigitnumber"

Other than that, just cross reference the rest of the values and make sure they're right.

Correct, at this time there is no convenient way to send mms with Sprint.

When I try and convert the file to a registry file it remains a text file. How do you do that? I named it settings.reg

in notepad you need to choose save as, then name it settings.reg MAKING SURE to change the Save as type field from Text Documents (.txt) to All Files. Then click save.

Ok I got it to be a registry file but when I try and merge it the phone cannot find an application to use to do anything with it. Does anyone have any ideas? Do I need a program like total commmander to do that of should it be stock with a rom?

Did you change the registry entry in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader] from 0000000000 to your 10 digit phone number as posted earlier in this thread?

Yup I went through the thread to make sure I didnt screw up. It is correct.

This is driving me nuts. It successfully sends to other phones. It just cannot receive. Damn why cant it receive!!!!

So this is what I found. Basically the phone will light up like it were receiving the message. It switches to 1x and then it just stops. It is like the mms program were not activating.

I'm currently having the same issue. I can send MMS no problems but I can't receive them. the phone will wake up but won't recieve the MMS.

I'm using DCD 3.0.1 on verizon.

Mine was working and then stopped.. not sure what happened.. I am trying to reinstall it now.

I reinstalled this and imported the reg settings listed and I get the mms header but no pictures.. it keeps trying to log in to get the rest of the message but never comes thru... :(

Any ideas what I might be missing now?? Is there some other settings or configurations that I messed up?? :confused:

the default MMS function works perfect for me. No problems whatsoever with my setup (check sig).

Got it working... I had to remove the 63.73.9.22 gateway that got added in somehow... Once I left it blank then I was able to get MMS again.. :)

Guys - The sync error you are getting, what version of Arcsoft are you using? I'm using 4.2.8.1, and I get that error only when I press SEND/RECEIVE when I have nothing to send.... Also, what carrier are you using? I use Verizon.... It's perplexing that I can use it without any issues while you guys cannot....

I have a Verizon XV6800. My Archsoft version is "3.0.6.22".

Do you know how I can get the updated version you have without having to reload the ROM?


EDIT: Alright I think I got it to work. I went into the Registry and made some changes. I went into the "HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\Arcsoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\6654" Key and changed
RecDefault, SendDefault, WAP1 & 2 Default sizes to 512000 (500K). Once I did that the messages started coming through. I'm not sure if thats the "official" fix, but it worked for me. Also I selected "The Internet" as my methond of connection in the Arcsoft GUI.


EDIT: Nevermind, after those first messages came through, I could no longer get any after that. Back to the drawing board

I have a cab of Arcsoft 4.2.8.1 but I have not installed it this way so I do not know if it works or not.... Here's a link so you can "Try It At Your Own Risk"..... No guarantees it works or that it won't fook up your phone.....:eek:

Be careful with sending limits.... When you make a new MMS, does it show you how big an MMS you can send?

HAHA.. Ok my bad for trying something new.. I got a copy of Arcsoft_MMS_5[1].0.31.7.cab and thought I would try to set that up.. AND just my luck its a no go.. I followed the above advice and removed the old version, removed all the reg keys above, soft booted and tried to install the new version. In the MMS configuration its states I am still using 3.0.24 even tho it was uninstalled. It also does not come up in my accounts. :mad: GRRR...

Anyone have any ideas how to get rid of the old and make the new work? I might try the above 4.2.8 version next.

Rev, just cook a new ROM with DCD's Arcsoft 5 built in..... It rocks.... and at least for me, it works right away, no issues, no setup at all for Verizon.....

That is prob what I will end up doing... I just finally got it all pimped out the way I like with the SPB suite and bunches of other stuff.. So trying to figure out another work around 1st if possible.
