Tu installes le driver sur le PC
Tu fais les manipulations sur ton téléphone (cf. post 1 et 2), tu oublies pas le reset a fin
Tu lances le programme lg_.exe (code reader) (si tu es sous Vista, tu oublies pas de l'executer avec les droits administrateur)
Ensuite c'est simple tu tapes les codes sur ton téléphone

Je suis sous XP, l'install du driver c'est bien passée et à chaque fois que je connecte le mobile par le port usb, le driver est chargé dans le gestionnaire de prériphérique. Par contre à chaque fois que je lance lg_.exe le programme sort avec le message : "Can't find device.".
Quelqu'un peut aider ?

Mouais, perso je n'arriver pas. J'ai installé tout les drivers comme il fallait, mais lorsque je lance le ks20reader, avec les points d'attente de "getting info" le lanceur se ferme automatiquement...

Sinon, une question, a cause de ses pilotes, mon ks20 ne peut plus être lu en tant que PPC par activesync; Une idée? Je n'arrive plus à accèder à mon mobile :s

Download LG corona driver & KS20.rar (lg_.exe)

1 - KS20 not connected on PC
2 - Install driver LG Corona on XP (it will install Modem, USB & Serial port drivers ) to enable communication in Diag mode
3 - On KS20 follow the procedure bellow to enable communication in Diag mode

and reset the KS20

4 - Plug the original usb cable on the PC and switch on the KS20
wait until Xp will make the Plug and Play

5 - Now run the lg_.exe software to read the famous code UNLOCK
it will appear at the end of the MSDOS window
make a copy of the line UNLOCK CODE :
2945#*20# >>> xxxxxxxxxxxxx <<<< that's your code

6- close the msdos window
and type on the Dialer the unlock access code
2945#*20#

a new window ask you to type the unlock CODE
type the code xxxxxxx and OK

AND NOW PUT you new SIM ORANGE, BOUYGUES etc....

(3)after step three when you (and everybody) says to reset the phone, is that turning the phone off and back on or something else?

(4)at step four you describe the XP plug and play, what i get is something like a wizard to install the hardware, this eventually hangs................

I tested this manipulation successfully on my KS20 V10b.

after step 3
yes just switch off the phone with the right button press 3 sec
and turn it off (soft reset)
and switch on after to be recognized by Xp in diag mode

step 4
let XP to find the device, and make the automatic browse because you had already install the drivers, so just press recommanded to windows found the drivers it should instal at least 4 devices
after this step you KS20 is detected as a new device but in Diagnostic mode

after step 5 run the LG_.exe soft
it open MSDOS window, and press enter to make the connection

is shoumld works 100%
mine is working in ORANGE no problem
i am with a version V10b, i am waiting the ROM V10f to flash it also

so tell me if it is OK

Hi Rock, I performed all the device menu oprtions and it seems to be working for me (now I can install a Windows Live whereas before I was receiving a "not permission messge).

I am only not sure about the additional Drivers and CODE READER procedures you've mentioned. It's possible you clarify what for they are?

After I installed my ROM I am able to go into windows but it doesn't promite a dialer for me to enter in my unlock code, further more the OPT error comes up.. and the MDP won't pick up my phone even though I have the program installed and I have changed the engineering settings.

For unlocking, u hv to type in some number to get into the unlocking menu for you to input your unlocking code, if you dunno the code to enter the unlocking menu, just connect ur phone to lg_.exe in diag mode it will read your unlocking code for you and guide you to unlock as well

ok right now I am exactly where you are, I start the lg_.exe after installing the drivers and then after the start of its operation the DOS window dissapears.

Have you installed a hybrid ROM?

That is why I think this is occuring.

My summary
-Started with french SFR KS20
-unlocked with lg_.exe (successfully)
-got tired of using a french phone so flashed with an unbranded czech ROM.
-got the OTP block because of my original branded state
-my .nv2 file is lost inside a malfunction XP machine
-got a vista laptop
-flashed phone in emergency mode with the hybrid English-HK-10a + French-voda-10f Rom created by Raykisi
-otp block removed and could access the KS20 just could not access the sim as had no .nv2 restored.
-obtained an 'engineered' .nv2 based on my IMEI from raykisi and restored that one.
-phone now recognises sim card as not a SFR sim, network lock message comes up...
-try to run lg_.exe to unlock
-as above lg_.exe does not run...........

So still stuck :)

so my options should be to now???????
- Reflash original sfr rom to take it back to virgin and take it from there (.nv2 prob will still exist?)
or
-Try another engineered .nv2
or
-fix the fucking xp machine to find my original .nv2, or just mount the old lappy's HDD in an external 2.5" caddy to find the .nv2
or
-try another hybrid etc.....

Question, how do I know if the .nv2 restore is corrupt? Will LGMDP show me?

To use lg_.exe to unlock your phone, you hv to change the setting in engineering menu and install windiag_open.cab again, since you hv just flash with a new rom, all these setting hv been erased.

To make sure you hv correct setting, connecting your KS20 with LGMPD, if it works then your connection setting is correct.

If connection setting is correct but lg_.exe still not working, try reflash the phone and restore the "new" .nv2 file that i hv just sent to you and unlock again

This is because your LG Corona USB Driver is not install properly in your computer

try it in another computer with vista prefer, because someone on the formu have the same problem as you b4 and he has 3 different copy of xp in 3 computers still got the same problem, finally i ask him to try vista, problem solved

Hey guys, I'm not sure what I am missing but I have spent a good 5 hours on 3 different computers, vista and 2 xp's trying to unlock my LG KS20 (unbranded version I think...) but I keep getting this :

searching for device..
connecting (COM16)
received first ack...
Getting info
.....................
and then it comes back to the prompt. What am I missing here? Why is the program not continuing to display the details from the phone?.. so i can use the unlock code.

basically, my problem is that i have bought this phone from some seller on Amazon.com and it was advertised as WIFI unlocked, but the WIFI doesn't even show up in my connections... however, if I look at the hardware, windows shows this .. in "configure network adapters"... "Samsung 2700sWiFi Adapter"... does this mean that my wifi is locked? how do I get this wifi to work ?

hey Roman26, i noticed your question... its easy, just press and hold the power button for 3 seconds.. the phone should give you a message asking to confirm your shutting down... click Yes and you're done.. now push the button again and the phone will restart.. Give it some time as it takes about 20 seconds for windows mobile to restart. if you have a password set up you will be prompted before the unit opens up your windows Today page.

unlock code is clear inside nv2 file; just open it with file editor ;goto last lines and you will see it 16 clear digits :d
at least for mine , it was unlocked v10c ; flashed to sfr v10f and lock come back !!!
no luck with ks20code reader ;i just open the nv2 file backup and found the unlock code , now it s ok !

I have a lg ms25, apply all the steps with exepcion that my engineering menu appears with the code 277634#*# , All correct, adjust the options , the driver works, the program code reader recognizes it and shows the imei , model and version , but at the end appears "CAN´T READ SIM UNLOCK CODES FOR THIS MODEL".Please help me with a similar program to this code reader but that detect my model. I have a Lg ms25 of Porta.

What I did was to install this, http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9XGEO789, WinDiag_Open.cab. I then reset the phone once more and the code-reader worked.

At least worth trying if you are experiencing above problem.

That's still not working. The window is closing after Getting info.

i updated my ks20 to wm 6.1, but i have got a problem with LG_Corona_USB_Driver, it can not recognize my phone any more, does anyone know where to download newest driver ? (window xp sp2)
