- 6.0xx is original TomTom

yeah i know..but as i said before..that those files didn't work with this custom firmware release..probably because those files are for wm6 i think.

I am still unable to sync with Exchange using ssl using 0.6x
No problem with stock ROM so I know my settings are ok, maybe a certificate issue with WM6.1?
I have read in other forum that certificates on WM6 and 6.1 are different.

Since upgrading to the new rom premium My phone no longer vibrates, only vibrates when soft reset during smart mobility. Does anyone know if it is a Radio rom issue?

Never mind: it was the registry ALLLed folder I had turned it to 0 to try to turn off the LED light but I guess that also turns off vibrate.

Extrem fast and very very stable. I dont believe it, great work bepe!!!!!!
At the startup of the system the bluetooth led is flashing (its a bug or its a feature?).
In Settings the german translating of "Large Title Bar" and "Voice Command" is missing.
Thats all i can tell this time.

Secondly, with regards to Quick GPS and TomTom. Do I first run Quick GPS then run TomTom to make use of the downloaded satellite settings? Or do I need to do something else for TomTom to make use of Quick GPS. Tom Tom takes about 3-4 minutes to register. Was wondering if this can be done faster.

I love the ROM too, but:

1) I have to pretty much manually setup O2 (UK), voicemail number etc...
2) No matter what I do, the keyboard "Touch Keyboard" keeps getting selected after reset even though I keep selecting "Touch Qwerty" in input.
3) I noticed the "back" button in the camera icon (top-left) doesn't work as intended, it keeps bringing up the camera menu.
4) Pressing the camera button during a SMS doesn't bring up the "other" character options.

Three things that niggle me:
1) The SMS sender "grouping" is driving me bonkers.........
2) How do I change menu/list text back to normal size? (I'm not refering to the "Large Start Menu" or "Large Title Bar" options) but the menu's within programs are now bigger......
3) Anyone know how to configure the "Quick Launcher" on the today screen below HTCHome? I want to put my CoPilot in there........

It's good to have quickgps updated regardless when you intend to use your navigation software.

at the first page the new ROM version 0.66 the standard version is OPERA_bepe and opera_bepe is the standard version its mixed up so before upgrading see the folder that u have downloaded.

so if u want to upgrade to opera_bepe then download the satandard version thats actually opera_bepe and so vice-versa

Use touch setting for changing the apps on the cube. You can find it at

Hi, when i use bluetooth, i can connect to other mobil devices and send files but i can´t receive anything from the other mobil phone. the other mobil said, that the connection was not possible. i am visible, no password etc. i tried it with 3 diffrent mobiles.

after this tests i can´t send or receive sms´s!!!!!

i had to make a reset to get the sms function to work!!

any ideas???

BT: Wastly depends on your Radio stack. The original (xxx.21.32) is a lot more stable, but still not perfect.
SMS: Settings->Advanced Network->SMS Service-> And change the SMS transport here, according to your provider. Mine is GSM, for example.

The 0.66 WWE Rom is great.... I find it very speedy compared to earlier versions.

Please can you update your SDAutoRun version with the latest version (SDAutoRun V2.0 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366333)) as I have had some problems with sorting out my User Customization. The latest version fixes some of these issues. Thank you.

Pretty cool and works really fine for FRA .66 (much faster..) but something is missing, this is a software from HTC that allows you to share your connexion with PC via usb or bluetooth, i don't remember the name. It's on ragular rom. IF one of you can post it or give a link, it would be great.

There is still something strange with Polaris PDA, I mean the Video Driver for the ATI video Chip included inside the PDA. Are you including any driver for this?

I have seen a comparison between two HTC PDA models, Polaris and Senda. This second one has the same ATI video Chip, and it seems that in its operating system, this driver is included, at least according with the attached comparison.

I cannot send SMS ... i have the message :

"the phone is not ready. wait 15 seconds and try again."

I do many things on my phone, don' t know if it's a 0.66 ROm problem, radio rom problem , or a bad parameter somewhere.

My corporate Exchange 2007 config is different and does not require any new certificate installation on the client. I suppose it uses existing WM6.0 client certificates to establish ssl connection. I read in another forum that WM6 and WM 6.1 beta don't have the same certs pre-installed.
Does anyone know if Bepe has included WM 6.0 certs in his rom?
I have also tried other wm 6.1 roms on this forum with no luck.
I can only OTA ssl sync with Exchange on WM6.0 roms.

I installed Polaris Radio 1.64.08.21 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=379599 ) on bepe 0.65, very good radio, better GPS signal and faster GPRS Edge, and with 0.66 rom it will be the must !

Please Bepe, think to french (FRA) people, but also ITA and ESN people, for the moment we only have 0.65 while 0.66 has been released in english and german since 4 days!

I've still got a problem with the tomtom in the premium version, I can't put french voice (I copy voice directly in \navigator\voices\ , I tried to install it with tomtom 1.5), so I installed the opera version and tomtom separatly. Am I the only one who get this kind of trouble ?

I'm try the Polaris_FRA_0.65_Premium_bepe, and I like it.
But, I have some problems with Opera :

- the keyboard does not work if I try to write something in the search google. It is ok anly with the url adress.


I lke the taskbar with the large icons, it's more easy to close apply with finger. Also, I want to install this apply on another rom (like classic HTC or SFR). Can you give me the name and the version of this apply.

It cannot use WM certificates, you need to install - for active sync - mail push - on device your corporates or exchange servers certificate for setting trust between exchange and client...The same solution is for outlook anywhere... Without this certificate it doesnt work...It uses https connection...

I've still got a problem with the tomtom in the premium version, I can't put french voice (I copy voice directly in \navigator\voices\ , I tried to install it with tomtom 1.5), so I installed the opera version and tomtom separatly. Am I the only one who get this kind of trouble ?

But, I have some problems with Opera :

- the keyboard does not work if I try to write something in the search google. It is ok anly with the url adress.


I lke the taskbar with the large icons, it's more easy to close apply with finger. Also, I want to install this apply on another rom (like classic HTC or SFR). Can you give me the name and the version of this apply.

With Radio 64.08.21 I have hot problem. All works very good and GPS ready after warm start about 10-20 sec. Fantastic. :)

If Opera provided on the Premium 0.65 FR need qwerty keyboard, can I flash my Cruise with 0.65_Standard_bepe.rar and install the Opera.cab which accept azerty keyboard ?

I saw that bepe's rom inclued TaskManager, but I think it's HTC Task Manager 2.0, and it does not contained large icon mod.

Only the flashing program is in German. It caused me some alarm too the first time hehe, but rest assured that the ROM you install is in english :)

1st: TomTom maps arent just TomTom maps. You have to use the maps which correspond with the TomTom version on the device. If you have version 7 maps I'm afraid you cant use them on your Polaris because the newest TomTom available for Windows Mobile is V6.

Other than that: create a folder with the same name as the map in your root directory. To figure that out keep looking for the MID file in your map directory. If for example its name is DE_AT_and_CH_plus_major_roads_of_WE.mid then put all the files in a folder named DE_AT_and_CH_plus_major_roads_of_WE in the root of your microSD card.

So, if: TomTom_map.mid
then: \Storage Card\TomTom_map\

If: BeNeLux.mid
then: \Storage Card\BeNeLux\

If it were a phone to begin with, it wouldnt run Windows Mobile, tards.

Dialer is taken from the Touch Dual AFAIK. It's smaller, a little inconvenient if you are retarded and dont have full control over your fingers, but I (speaking for myself) learnt to deal with that.

I dont care about your speed dial problems, but calls list: on HTC Home press the missed calls indicator. On the dialer, press the call list button provided for your convenience. How about that...?

Yes, the menu bug is known, bepe is most likely to correct that one.

Searching contacts works too: don't click the search field, just start typing right away. Dont do double taps either, only push the keyboard button once. So, for example if you are looking for "Peter" push [OP] [ER] [TY]/[TZ] [ER] [ER] right away and xT9 will find the corresponding contacts and won't revert the list. The search field will show ".1211" but all Peters will be listed. Try it yourself. Oh, forgot, you're back to stock ROM...

And again: no feckin phone would be equipped with Windows Mobile and a portable Office Suite if it would claim to be a phone in the first place. It's a feckin micro computer with a GSM unit strapped on top which from time to time works as supposed and sometimes it doesnt work at all. Live with it or buy Motorola. Oh no, they dont work either, I forgot... Psh...

- In rom settings, tab: Options, you have an option "Enable Large Icons", if you check that, the icons in the Quick menu will be large,

But now, if you go to the settings of the quick menu (open quick menu, select the middle button for Settings) and then go to the tab: Button, after that press OK (change nothing) and open the quick menu again, the icons in the quick menu are small again.

On the Today screen goto your favourite people. add someone. then go back to the Home tab, then back to Favourite people. the new entry has not been saved. the only way to add a permanent entry to the Favourite People tab is to use the TouchFlo screen. add a user in there and it is saved.

I did upgrade to bepe rom version 0.65 standard (french) and now i get a "bug" in the explorer: in the contextual menu on an audio file the accents of the last line ("Définir comme tonalité") doesn't appear, they are replaced by a square.

Does any one else have this problem ?

I don't know if this problem has been raised before but when I select the Touch Keypad as the Input method everything works fine except the "space" which is supposed to be added automatically according to the settings in the options tab. But It does not work somehow. So, I have to press the "space" key after the words are sugested.

Is this a Rom problem? Have you guys noticed this problem?

Using Bepe's 0.66 WM6.1 ROM when you reply to all (the default left soft-key action) it sends the e-mail to yourself as well as all of the other recipients.

With WM6.0/5.0 ActiveSync can be configured with your e-mail address so that it doesn't include yourself in the reply. However even with the same setting, 6.1 seems to ignore it and copy your in anyway.

Has anyone found a way around this/seen the problem also?

After restarting, the xda shows the o2, than the htc start screen, after that, the green windows mobile 6.1 Screen is shown, but this screen will not disappear and the windows will not start totally, it stucks at this green screen.

It looks like my phone is damaged, because i cant get connection via ActiveSync and restarting once again will lead to the same stuck windows mobile 6.1 screen. Do someone know this behavior, or a solution?

Perform a hard reser after flashing any ROM's before doing anything to your device.:p

I think i have done hard reset (camera button with reset?!?). After that the O2 Screen with red letters will be shown, but after htc screen, same procedure like before, the windows mobile screen will be shown, the device blings one time, but the windows mobile screen will not disappear.

I hope there is a way to reanimate the device.

wwe .66 standard, when trying to type out an sms address or email address sometimes using the touch keypad, it just shows special characters, not letters.

When editing notes of a calendar item, for some reason all of a sudden can't use touch keyboard or keypad, it only types out numbers. have to use the touch qwerty board.

keyboard/keypad still rocks, just not sure what is causing it to only type numbers sometimes. Does it in opera 9.5 alpha too but i thought that was just a screwed up opera thing.

First of all its not the TouchFLO screen, its the Quick Dial side of the Cube. Second: yes, this is correct and cant be fixed. And it's getting annoying, every second page there is a user complaining about it.
Reason for it not to work is because the Cube and the Ppl-Tab share the same database. This is because the Cube doesnt exist on devices featuring the Ppl-Tab and the Ppl-Tab doesnt exist on devices featuring the Cube. Compare Kaiser/Polaris, Tab/Cube.
It was never forseen to have the Cube and The Ppl-Tab at the same time, so they just simply don't work together. And because the Cube is what originally belongs on the Polaris, it's prioritized and wipes your contacts off the Ppl-Tab which in concept doesnt even exist on any Polaris.

Yes it is. Search your registry for "IsSIPInputMethod" and for the keyboards you dont want, set it from 1 to 0 and the SIP will dissapear from the list. A softreset might be needed.

Yes you can. Side question: what do you want to verify? That you are flashing bepe .66 over bepe .66? I guess you know what you flashed before and what you are going to flash, aight...?

It will get selected after every reboot, you can't change that. But I attached "SIPChange" which is a neat utility. What it does is selecting a user configured keyboard 10 seconds after every softreset. Works quite nice...!

With a possible Qualcomm video driver around the corner from the HTC 6550 Sedna maybe Bepe should just focus on his exams, after all if someone does succesfully extract and figure out the driver then all of these ROMS are going to become outdated pretty quickly.

You know Bepe when anything good turns up... he'll integrate the drivers cook it up and have it on your table before you can say "Thanks for nothing HTC"

Been having intermittant hangs, quite sluggish and takes about 20mins to boot up.

Have run the ROM again on a different computer, still the same.

0.65 was absolutely perfect, think I may have to roll back.

A few bugs, one very annoying for me. First, if I get an email the telephone doesn´t make any sound (not happening with sms or phone calls). I promise I already configured to have a sound on this matter, but nothing happen.

Second, On telephone, I can see only my outgoings calls, because somehow it doesn´t log my incoming calls.

The fix is already included in the base-ROM bepe uses to cook with. So he didnt even have to cook it in since HTC was so nice to provide a ROM equipped with it :D

On .67 Ger Standard I stumble across weir keyboard behaviour like the keys are mirrored (dot "." on symbolpad is suddenly on right side of KB instead on left) and such.
I can also confirm that the SMS address field is broken where the keyboard only enters punctuation marks like "." or "?" etc.
The big startmenu isnt wide enough, the last recent program icon gets cut off.
I still get the wrong GRPS connection and MMS server settings setup... I guess before the next update I gonna flash the shipping WM6 to quickly check what that one spits out...

When trying to take a picture in the mask mode (the one where the picture is framed in a cartoon) it fails and quits the camera application.
Chain of errors:

You don't have any masks installed (\My Documents\Templates\*.gif) so the camera application stalls and crashes
Once the camera application crashed the camera-hardware is locked in the background
You can't open up any new camera app instance because the camera is still locked and the camera app is still set on mask-modeGet yourself some masks and put them in the \Templates folder and off you go.

I am having the same problem. I sync with an xp vista and exchange server. All was working properly except I kept getting the error on the vista pc. I just thought is was active sync but after your post I deleted all desktop partnerships and just with the exchange server and the vista pc it now works fine. I sync an ipaq with the same pc's and exchange server with no problems. Not a big issue but it does seems to be related to this build. I have been having the same problem in 65 and 66. Even though I get the error message the sync seemed to always work. just got the message encountered a problem on the desktop

Hi Bepe, Geat Rom.

Good luck in your exams, I found what I think is a bug in 0.67.

When several messaging accounts are configured and you select the messaging icon in HTC home, I always get the same default email account, even if I select display account picker in Menu->Tools->Options and select Display account picker when opening messaging.

I don't know if anyone can recrete the bug to see if it is me or a real bug.

I have a very similar problem.

Using Touch Qwerty keypad in AZERTY mode, ( test in QWERTY mode, it's the same problem)
In Letter Mode or number mode, i have the link to permute between .,123 or ABC mode at the good place, at the right of space bar, but this link is too in second place in the keyboard, it replace the number 2 in number mode or Z letter ( W letter in qwerty mode) in letter mode.
This bug exists in all the BEPE ROM i test.

++++ But I have 2 main complaints to address.

1. When I start a text message I could start typing out the name of the recipient and the phone would recognize it as I typed and I could select it from there. Now I have to go to add recipient and the scroll down to the person select them and then start typing the message. This takes too long.

2. When I have contacts running at the same time as messaging and I click OK to get out of messaging (IE texts/MMS) contacts pop up first to be closed then messaging. I have keep contacts closed to avoid this problem.

Hi, I have same problem I am not able to sync to exchange OTA with any beta 6.1 WM version. I have no problem with 6.0 tough.
Please note that my connection to exchange is through SSL and I beleive that this is causing the issue.
Are you using SSL too?
Then it might be a certificate issue.
I went back to Panosha's version WM6.0 which is very fast too and stable and give me my much needed SSL sync to exchange OTA.

The exchange server on which I have activated the push is 2003 SP2, and work very fine with WM5/WM6 (Trinity Original and Trinity Lasagna/CRUISE Original)
Perhaps the problem could be an incorrect management by Bepe0.67 of security certificate that must import, although once imported appears between certificates as in the original ROM, or WM6.1 requires Exchange 2007

I noticed that in bepe's roms the settings of push mail are turned off.
You have to turn it on by going to Activesync Menu->Schedule and setup the peak and of-peak times to "As items arrive".

Hi!

First you need to change to HardSPL because otherwise you can't flash any 3rd party ROM. There is a nice tutorial on this forum which explains how to do this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=370434

After you managed to upgrade to HardSPL, you can download one of the ROM versions on the first post of this thread. After you download a ROM, open the zip/rar and unpack the stuff to a place where you can find it :) After that, just open the ROM update utility and you're done!

Has anyone had a problem restoring messages with PIMBackup 2.8 with Bepe 0.67? My previous ROM was 0.65 and messages restored without a problem. With 0.67, my messages will not restore :mad:

is it possible to receive a normal mms with polaris without having to go in internet? with my sonyericsson i was able to receive a mms straight to my phone, now i just get a link and a password.... anyone an idea?

most likely, you have to send out one MMS from your new Polaris
to be able to receive MMS directly furtheron. Providers do not know,
if your phone is MMS capable, before they recognize a sended MMS
through your phone. So they send the link to be sure you are able
to see the MMS even with a very old phone. When you send one for
yourself, the MMS server can see that your phone can handle MMS
and it delivers the MMS directly from this point.

I can connect to my exchange server (2003 sp2), and have been able to with every version of Bepe's Rom.

I use SSL with a self-signed certificate which i manually install on my device. (.cer file)

this is a very interesting information (I never used MMS before) but when you are receiving a MMS then - after the server recognized you are able to - it will be automatically downloaded from the provider Server via tel. line, or the Polaris just go online automatically without you knowing it?
The question comes because if the MMS will be downloaded via tel line, it will cost nothing (I guess) if it is going online it costs me the online price ...
Is my question understandable?

I love trying these ROMs, thanks Bepe and thanks to the rest that help. However, I have 3 questions please:

1. I am having MMS problems. I am a UK O2 user and when I go to send an MMS, I receive an error: user barred.
I have called the UK O2 Cust services to check my account and they say I should be ok if I just run the O2 setting program on the original ROM! Unfortunately I dont have that now!
Does anyone know what MMS settings I require on my O2 UK Orbit2?

2. When I used to start sending a message in my old rom, I typed the first few chars and the closest match came back. Now it doesnt, I simply have to search the contacts list instead. Any way of getting the old way back?

3. The contacts page gets loaded ( and left behind) when I load the sms/mms app. If I read a message, when I close the sms app, the contacts are left there. Is this a feature of this rom? Didnt happen before on .58

First of all, thanks Bepe for the great job you did with this ROM..

After installing 0.67 Premium on my HTC Touch I noticed that I couldn't setup any Hotmail account nor could I startup Live Messenger...

With E-mail Setup I get a link to the web environment version of messenger/hotmail instead of the integrated version such as the on that comes with WM6.0..

Am I doing something wrong or is messenger not available in this ROM version?

However, I asked which cab you included in your rom to have large icon in taks bar.
I saw that you have included TaskManager, but I think that this apply is not enough to have the large icones in task bar.

I like these icons, beacause it is more easy to close apply with finger.

Downloading of MMS is basically free of charge. It will be downloaded
automatically just as SMS does. If your MMS settings are correct, the
account which will be used to connect the MMS server is free of charge.
Just sending of MMS is charged with a fixed fee depending on your
providers pricelist (also like SMS is charged)

Don't select the searchfield but just bring up the keyboard and start typing right away. It'll fill the searchfield with garbage (?!'123 etc) but it'll find the contacts you want. Nice feature I discovered, don't know if WM6 already featured that one though: xT9 recognizes and autocompletes what you are searching for, so for "Peter" you only have to type [OP] [ER] [TZ] [ER] [ER] instead of multitapping 2x[OP] [ER] [TZ] [ER] 2x[ER]...

TouchFLO is the name of a collection of apps: finger scrolling, e-mail account switching by gesture, the whole Cube story including specific apps like gesture controlled pic viewer.
So which one do you mean with "TouchFLO"? Because they are not all available you must know...

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but in my previous rom (bepe .63 premium) when i had incoming calls the left softkey gave the option to silence, and if i pressed it it would then say answer. Now when i receive calls it does not give the silence option and only says answer.

Did you Softreset after you change the value?

I use Bepe's Basic Rom and it has touchflo, as all previous ones. What is missing (but I do not miss) is the cube. So you can finger scroll, use gestures in camera album, switch messaging accounts...

I have a problem with xT9. I setuped all registers to I can use Czech xT9. Only problem is that name of Czech language is missing in the list. I have to choose "empty field" in selection of xT9 languages. Does anybody know how to solve this problem?
