I don't know if it is a bug in Bepe's rom's (0.66 and .067) but when i disable
threaded sms by using this registry key:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSAvailabl e = 0

My incomming textmessages don't trigger any sound or vibration. Weird because in the Settings->Sound&Notifications configuration screen, 'Play sound' and 'Virbate' checkbox is enabled. Besides this fault Bepe's Roms is just great.
Anybody got a fix for this please ?

something similar happen to me with spanish rom. Dont know why.

I'm using the german version of the 0.67 OperaRom. After upgrading to this version I get an .net CF Error when starting subsembly wallet. The system tells me to install an Net Compact version first. So I tried to install the 2.0 Version, but it tells me that Net CF is already installed in ROM. What is wrong here?

Bugs found:

Using WWE Standard v0.67

[1]. -> Enable 'Favorite People' from 'ROM Config'
--> Search for Contact and after selecting the name, instead of selecting the contact the contact list again gets back to the first contact.

[2]. -> Enable 'Favourite People' from 'ROM Config'
--> After adding all favorite's, then open the Cube, and then close it. The contacts from the 'Favorite People' list disappear on the Home Plugin screen.

Work around for [2] found:

Add your Favorites on the Cube, they will automatically appear on the 'Favorite People' plugin.

:( c'est bien un problème avec la rom, avec l'originale ça fonctionne bien, mais la rom est plus "lente"...

Yes, i already did severals Softreset's but it doesn't fix the problem.
What do you mean bij BigixModeSMS ? I can't find anything about it.

Is anybody in here getting the "main battery very low" upon startup of your TC? After which the TC will shut down? I'm having this problem since yesterday. Fortunately, sometimes booting does work so my TC is still sort of functional.

I dont have this problem and i am using Bebe´s Rom 0.67 a few days.
Try to find out if you use same software on your PDA as the other people.
I don think that it was an Hardware or Firmware Problem.

BUG Found:

- Upon soft-resetting the phone I always receive an error message saying 'Voice Command' has closed due to lack of memory. Every time I enable it manually and reboot the phone, I receive this error.

This occurred right after enabling the HTC Home tabs (Favorite people and Music).

I've got another problem
it began since I get the bepe 0.67 opera FR installed on my cruise
it happened several times, the cruise doesn't want to turn on when it is on screensaver, it keeps black but the green led is still flashing.
do you ever try this kind of problem?
I get the bepe 0.65 opera FR today

Yes, I had the same problem. There is a problem with WM6.1 and the WMDC of Vista.
Disable the Advanced Network Settings on the device, then it should work.

Did you guys restart de device center? The flashing process stopps WMDC and you need to relaunch it after the flash...

Advanced Network Settings can be found in the connection settings panel.

First question: are you connected at all...? Not online = no update, obviously. I'd check on that, best test: fire up IE and give google.com/pda a shot, if it works, try updating your weather again.

Run the "Connection Wizards" in Settings > Connections (tab), select your country and network provider. It will automatically download the necessary settings for you. After Restart it should work!

Anyone know how the IP Phone in the Comm Manager works? Tried the On and Off button but my VoIP connection was still active/dod not change. Also Settings > IP Phone in the CommManager doesn't do anything.

I have a problem with .65 basic ITA.
Is already the 3rd time i install SPB Wallet.
I dunno what ruins it but after few day of non usage of wallet, when i launch it, I have an error message with certificate problem. Only thing to do is uninstall and reinstall adn all is going fine.

Wasn't this ROM supposed to be certificate independent?

Using 0.67 GER Opera since this morning 01:00h. ;-)

So far I have discovered (mostly already in earlier versions mentioned) bugs:

Startmenu too small for all five recently used program icons
Using Touch Keypad to input a search string at google in opera has no effect
With ClearType enabled: on today screen having words with ll (double L) these letters have a reddish color (can't remember having that on stock ROM)

And now missing translations I've found so far. Dunno if it's possible to translate those anyway but I'll list them

The options of the Touch inputs
Advanced settings of phone
The '[Hide ]Keypad' soft button in the dialer

Besides the mentioned above I have nothing to complain about by now.
I must say I'm really impressed by the speed (directly compared to stock WM6), the nice additional features (like the advanced features of the dialer or threaded SMS) and also the enourmes amount of available storage memory and not missing any features yet.

Thanks for this impressive piece of software!

Can everyone who is successfully syncing with Exchange OTA (GPRS) confirm that it is using SSL connection?
I would assume this is the issue with Bepe's rom and any other 6.1 beta rom!

Keep in mind that I just sync with Exchange server (SSL) via Wifi or GPRS/HSDPA.
Using original 6.0 ROM anything was syncable but at using bepe 0.65 or above i had this strange problem.

Anyone has an idea ?

My finding:
I had problem with Active Sync and Exchange server... Tested a few hours: contacts, emails, tasks syncing was OK, problem was with Calendar... After much hours of testing and finding solution i get this:
in my calendar i imported name days with graphic accents - like ř, š, č...
Ater theirs deleting and importing without graph.accents AS works OK :)
Maybe its useful for any other users...

Found one more:

While booting BT seems to be switched on. Or at least the blue LED flashes until short after entering my PIN and the phone getting connected to the network.

Maybe it's one of the kind "It's not bug, it's a feature!" and it probably isn't much of a problem at all but to me it seems a little wrong.

Sorry I have no idea.
I can't sync at all with WM6.1. I tried many 6.1 roms but none can sync with my 2007 exchange server.
I went back to 6.0 and everything is fine.
I suspect a certificate issue with 6.1 or exchange 2007 but not quite sure...
I loaded all 6.0 certs on Bepe's 6.1 but no results still unable to sync.
I am quite happy with Panosha 6.0 rom I must say. apart from his custom splash screen :-(
Quite fast and stable, and can sync with exchange :-)

My Exchange 2007 pushmail solution works perfectly with Bepe's rom.

Running Exchange 2007 (sp0) with bepe's 0.67 rom.
Installed the root certificates and the ssl certificate, and it all syncs perfectly.

The only reason I'm switching to wm 6.1 is the fact that it'll be able to pushmail sync with Exchange 2007 sp1. .. seems there was/is a bug with wm 6.0 not being able to perfectly sync with SP1 of Exchange 2007. My collegues with the Hermes devices at work have had this issue.

Hmm... do you really have the *full* internet or wap only, like limited access to the web and somewhat bound to some kind of an AT&T portal (dunno how to explain that otherwise)? The plugin of course needs full internet access, a possible explanation why it works over Wifi but not cellular service.

I cannot send SMS with this version, only receive.
In advanced network settings try changing SMS Service to GSM instead of (what it probably is set to) GPRS.

Downloading of MMS is basically free of charge. It will be downloaded
automatically just as SMS does. If your MMS settings are correct, the
account which will be used to connect the MMS server is free of charge.
Just sending of MMS is charged with a fixed fee depending on your
providers pricelist (also like SMS is charged)

Guys, some of you are having problems with Bluetooth connections.

I did have a Bluetooth issue with my Nokia CK-7W, the polaris would connect but within 5 minutes the connection would drop. found the problem was I had "make this device visible to other devices" disabled. once I enable this feature the connection was solid.

thought it maybe of use to some of you.

I have been using 66 or 67 since it came out. (can't remember now!)

Anyways, one day i put my HTC w100 remote into my cruise and the tri colored screen came up thinking it was going to be flashed. I quickly rem oved the cable and had to soft reset.

Since then, the remote functions dont work (volume, track etc). no dice :(

Have to reflash.

It is correct that the Windows Live Suite got removed from the ROM. There is a CAB installer available in these forums.

Have to reflash.
I'd hardreset first, it's less of a pain in the butt...
Hold the two lower keys (orbit: Start/OK; TC: GPS/IE) while softresetting. It'll present you with a couple instructions on screen.

thanks for the fantastic work bepe ! I was so dissapointed with my orbit 2 but no the device is going fast and the new functions of wm 6.1 are very pleasant !

I dont know if someone has asked this before, but when do think it is possible to integrate the new functions of wm 6.1, i think of the new home menu, in your rom ? It seems like a very nice feature!

Yes it's Windows Mobile 6.1 as stated in the title of this thread: Beta: WM 6.1 by bepe. And it's the Professional Edition for sure, flashing the "Smartphone" Version onto a touchscreen enabled device would probably hurt...
If you have activation issues, a) get in touch with someone successfully using the Premium version of the ROM or b) flash the Opera build and install your custom TomTom (which works, right?) which wouldn't suck up any more space than the one included in the Premium version.

about TomTom i found the embedded version very slow in redering the map (1-2 fps)
Recently i have installed this version, from swtos Thread: http://rapidshare.com/files/96209008/ttn.cab
and the rendering is really faster (6-7 fps), It0s always 6.032

This is a really interesting observation! Are you sure it's not because you are using fewer POIs with the swtos TomTom version than you were with the Bepe TomTom??
Is anyone else able to confirm this behaviour?

And, by the way - are there any problems with stability of the last bepe rom? I will be leaving in a few days for a longer trip and I must be 100% sure of the stability...

So strange... on my polaris i've noticed that the "fast" TT6 (using Bepe 0.67 standard rom) will freeze after a bit of use (random 30 mins to 1 hour). HTC "slow" version did not. Now I'm testing premium version of rom with no problem at all (3 hour was fine). Same pois, same maps.

I would like to enjoy them :D ... but learning for this exams is not really the same :(
After 9 April all exams will be done, so the real development and fixing continues there.

Until that enjoy the 0.67 build I'm uploading. Not many change, but the new 19209 build.

I've got to say I like my Polaris a lot more with the rom from bepe. Thanks dude. Here's what I've found:

1) Despite two troubleshooting sessions from AT&T, the MMS does not work; sending or receiving: It gets to the end of the snd/rcv then gives me a notification dialog at the bottom of the screen with 'Error' as the title, and 'Forbidden' as the dialog text. That's all. Searching forums no help. SMS works great, edge and 3g work great, email works fine, love the new opera mobile. Just no MMS. I'd be more than happy to list all my settings here if someone wanted to help.

2) I changed the backlight setting on battery mode from 10 seconds to 2 minutes, then changed the power setting to turn the device off from 1 minute to 2. When ever I was on the phone with AT&T troubleshooting #1 above, the backlight setting would change itself back to 10 seconds and I had to keep tapping the screen to keep it lit. This is probably the way its supposed to work, as I can see the programmers thinking no one would need to use the screen on a call, but it's something that could be looked into???

Bepe, hats off to you dude!!! If I keep this phone, you'll see a donation soon. If I trade it for a Tilt (the Polaris software keyboard is driving me nuts...), I'll hope to see a tilt rom with your name on it.

Now I'm testing premium version of rom with no problem at all (3 hour was fine). Same pois, same maps.

Same over here.
Using approx. 40.000 of my own POI (approx. 50 categories) of which 20.000 with warning.
Navteq DACH Map 6.75 build 1430.
Largely prefer Route 66 Navigate 7 though (starts slower but works better).

Backlight in normal use and backlight during a call are two different things. Two minutes in normal use, but still will be 10 seconds during a call. This is to stop you pressing buttons with your fat face... :)

Check the tweaks thread, I think there's a fix there, or somewhere else in the Polaris area. But if you leave it on, you will press the screen with your face. I prefer to switch the screen back on with the power button if I need it.

Word and Excel have nothing to do with the Professional designation.
Professional stands for touchscreen devices whereas devices without touchscreen (Smartphones) use non-professional version of Windows Mobile.

I know this is a bit OT, but you should seriously try out one of the 'fast' software keyboards, such as Tengo Thumb or (my personal favorite) Cootek TouchPal. Make sure you improve the PressureThreshold setting in the registry too. Makes a world of difference!

Actually, it wouldn't be a bad thing if Bepe was to include some of this stuff in the Premium ROM... ;)

I am on Bepe 0.66 O2 Orbit. haven't flashed the 0.67 b'coz bepe was busy with his exam and didn't want to flash again when he releases his new version(hopefully soon).
Is it A BUG!!
Just want to confirm whether this is a bug in 0.66 or is it also present in 0.67
BT pairing with my BT stereo headphones Motorola S9 and the Motorola HT820 are fine. When I play music or video I can only hear from the left head phone. I am using CorePlayer 1.2
Is there a reg fix or any other suggestions to fix this.
BTW AVRCP works fine. I flashed the 1.64 radio a couple of weeks ago.

Good evening,
I just received my HTC Touch Cruise and although it was functioning fine, I did some "research" and stumbled across this incredible site.

Currently, after upgrading the ROM, my TC is no longer able to connect to any phone network. It just says "Kein Empfang" (No Signal/No Reception):(.

1.) I installed the Hard-SPL
2.) Next I installed the bepe 0.67 GER premium ROM
3.) Finally, I installed the Radio ROM 1.64.08.21

The device information shows:
ROM-Version: 1.52.751.2 GER
ROM-Datum: 02/12/08
Funempfängerversion: 1.64.08.21
Protokoll-Version: 25.74.40.02H

Since I am a newbie (and I was really, really nervous about doing this flashing thing), I am now at a loss ... did I do something wrong ? Did I mix things up ?

Any help would be appreciated !

Thanks for your help ... I set up the connection to "Deutschland" and "O2". After rebooting, I entered my PIN and waited. It did show the provider name (it's the O2 network, but my contract is with ALICE ... although it never shows that name on the HTC ... just some hieroglyphics that start with A).

In any event, I receive a weak signal (one block) for about 30 seconds and then it's back to "no signal". This surprises me because on my other phone I got, I get at least 3 blocks (75% ?) signal strength.

I'll do some more testing tomorrow ... too tired now :o

For your second question, well there's nothing else better than a fresh data on the registry.

For radio, well, i'm using the latest one, 1.64.08.21 , and found it to be the best to date. No drop calls, better reception, longer battery life, faster GPS lock and no BT issues

Ok, this is getting kind of frustrating ...

I "downgraded" to Radio ROM 1.58.26.20 to see if it improves on the reception. It does not. Still getting the same error (no signal) :(

I've put the SIM card into my old Motorola Timeport (yeah, I know ... sort of prehistoric :rolleyes:). It gets full reception (even two blocks down in the basement).

The HTC TC gets no signal.

Would it make sense to revert to an original ROM ? Or another Radio ROM (other than the one mentioned above or the 1.64.xx.xx version, which I have already tried ?

When I follow reyjabs suggestion, I can select O2 (in Germany) as the provider, and it even gets a network confirmation (i.e. I'm logged in) for about 30 seconds, but then it just goes back to "no signal".

I was at a restaurant this morning and there I had 2 bars worth of signal strength. I made a phonecall and the quality of the call was very good.

Any suggestions what else to try ?:confused:

But what parameters would that be ? I saw that I can select the country and the provider, nothing else.
And why would I get a connection for a short while ? And why would I receive only a very weak signal ? :confused:

I've now tried different Radio ROMs, switched back to the 1.25.405.1 WWE ROM (which is, of course, not the original GERMAN ROM ... I don't have that :(). The problem remains the same ...

I was soooo looking forward to my HTC TC ... and now I feel a deep sense of disappointment :(...

I read various threads about flashing. I made sure that I understood the proper sequence of what needed to be flashed and what could be flashed.

I do not recall seeing a statement that is pertinent to my current woes - if I did overlook something, please point me in the right direction.

I think he tried his best, and, as he said at the begninning he read a lot, and there is really plenty of informations, so it would be not a strange thing if he overlooked ad some, in any case I can feel with him, putting a new rom, for a not used to it person is a very exciting thing, and if something goes wrong even worst ...

so I think he needs more help at the moment, and not someone showing at him and telling him "you are a bad boy" ... I cannot give any deeper advice, but may be someone can, and therefore the forums are really great ...

I have an idea, why do you not try to reflash the roms?

I had to do it three times, with my mum's Polaris, I still do not why but the third time it worked, so maybe it is worth ...
Another thing: if it doesn't find the proper settings for Alice, may be you can put them manually, and did you try in the same place with anoter provider and his card, may be a friends one?

Hope you'll have luck, Bepe's ROM is fantastic and the Polaris with it great!

I suppose you know www.ppc-welt.info/community (http://www.ppc-welt.info/community). From there I know people seem to have issues with old SIM Cards and the o2 network. Since you say your provider is a roaming-partner of o2 I'd suppose to ask them for a new SIM card. Another possibility to try out at the moment is set your band settings to GSM only, no 3G, no UMTS. See if that works.
Another thing are the connection parameters: they have NOTHING TO DO with network connectivity or signal availability. They just provide some IP address settings and login names for some gateway servers. If there is no network, there is no data connection, forget about the network setup wizard for now. And btw I doubt it has anything to do with Radio ROM versions or such, I really suppose its your SIM card.

if I did overlook something, please point me in the right direction.No nothing in particular, all I was trying to say was I'm not suprised that you are having problems, nothing personal, look back through the 'bepe' thread... how many times do people say "thanks for the ROM it's great BUT.........." person after person with problems, things that don't now work since flashing, then they thank the author of the ROM, lol, makes me laugh, did this not 'worry' you before flashing?

I had many HTC based devices, flashed all of them at some point with various ROMs, on the whole, usually very good, even 'bepe', I used his ROM on the Trinity, was great. All the ROMs for the Polaris, in comparison, are poor, far too buggy.

thank you for your kind words of encouragement ! I have flashed several times, but to no avail. Problem still persists.

the Motorola phone is old, the card is not. It was issued a couple of months ago. I have the Timeport as a backup in case I find myself without my PDA-Phone.

And I'm not sure if my provider is a "roaming partner" ... I always thought that roaming meant using someone else's network because the original network is not available. I think of ALICE as a "branded" version of the O2 network :). But all this is just semantics.

It's really strange because even with one "signal block", the quality of the call is really incredible. But it loses the signal in areas where I KNOW there is sufficient signal strength.

I've tested it with an E-Plus SIM and get the same results (which is weird because the E-Plus signal is a lot weaker where I live ... inside the house I won't get any decent reception, no matter what phone I use)

I'd already gone ahead and "restricted" my band settings to GSM only. Problem persists.

If I had the original Touch Cruise GER ROMs available, I'd reflash them, undo the HARD-SPL (I found instructions for this on this forum) and send it in to HTC for repair.

Well, yeah, Alice hasnt got an own network, its using the o2 network. The company behind Alice is Telecom Italia which hasnt got a network in Germany, opposed to Telefónica which owns o2 (http://www.inside-handy.de/news/9790.html, http://www.digital-world.de/news/kommunikation/handys/o2_und_alice_planen_gemeinsame_mobilfunkangebote/93925/o2_und_alice_planen_gemeinsame_mobilfunkangebote.h tml). So all Alice customers suffer the same problems o2 customers do, they rely on the same technology in the background.

Certain Radios only work with certain OS. WM6.1 I heard (on other devices) need a recent Radio to work.
But on the Polaris that situation doesnt exist yet, you are free to flash what/whenever you want.

The copy start but for a few seconds and then give an error.

just like to let you know that I flashed Bepes 0.67 GER Opera Edition a minute ago. It just runs perfect except minor bugs like missing translations.

I am using radio 1.58.21.23 - the one which came together with the TC out of the box (the oldest one). And it runs perfect togehter with the new WM 6.1!

Is it really necessary to flash the radio? I'm a little bit afraid of loosing Bluetooth capability, etc. thereafter...

Looking forward to the next releases bepe!! Donation is on the way!

No there is no need to preform a radio upgrade.
depending on your location a radio upgrade can help or harm your device.
in asia (and israel) the default radio is the best for TC and as fo now a problem with radio replacement causes a loss of signal.

although I had not detailed my flashing attempts, I had already tried Bebe 0.67 GER thrice and Bepe 0.67 WWE once. No dice. :(

I have now flashed back the original ROMs (incl. Radio ROM) and it just doesn't have an acceptable reception. I've contacted HTC and am waiting on an email with instructions on where to send to TC ...

Run the "Connection Wizards" in Settings > Connections (tab), select your country and network provider. It will automatically download the necessary settings for you. After Restart it should work!

i tried everything and my weather still doesnt update. it only updates when i am connected to active sync. whats wrong. my internet is working opera and internet explorer works but weather doesnt update. i even re-install the rom tonight and still doesnt work

Try changin the "SMS Service" in the advanced network settings from GPRS to GSM.

dortyboy this really sounds like a connection issue to me like (for example but not limited to) your network provider blocking access to certain pages or access on certain ports. I have to confess though, I don't know what ports the HTC plugin works...

Windows Live Messenger is not present in Bepe's ROM (if Bepe could have a penny everytime that someone asks this question...). :rolleyes:

I wonder if the speed improvement of ASergs ROM is due to the fact,
that he disables some major services by default and you have to switch them
on by his services addon (see screenshot) :confused:
One could disable those services also in bepes rom to achieve the
speed improvement. It's just some registry keys. But I wonder, if
the speed of ASergs ROM also remains, if the services are enabled
and if they keep enabled if you do apply them once or if they are
disabled again after softreset. Anyone could confirm?

Hello,

Some one have done successfully the installation of the Blackberry connect in the latest ROM of Polaris?

I'm think that this is a killer application, and has a dependency of the ROM to work.

Including, the people that uses the Polaris as a Blackberry 3G Device we really appreciate that, and could be really generou$.

Yeah, I've seen that. But seriously: I enabled WIFI in CommManager and it connected flawlessly. Then I fired up Navigon and it found satellites, without enabeling anything first... I didn't test Bluetooth though, I reflashed bepe before I could ;) I checked the CAB files, they contain reg keys, that is correct. But everything I had a look at worked without executing any CABs first.

vysus I guess you didnt find the programs because some of them are running in the background and are not supposed to be launched manually and the others because you probably didnt look in your Start > Programs directory. Eh...?

Seriously, what application didnt you find which was listed?

On main (home) screen, turning the main button does not browse the different items...
But not really annoying as with arrays or fingers, it works perfectly!

Just to say that I did not find any other 'non-mentioned' bug up to now ;)

NB: it would be great if the removed applications could be available as cabs options. The same for the Tomtom voices for example...

Questions: what would you use to manage contacts (except Outlook) ? I'd like to synchronize my contacts with several PCs/phone and if possible Google :D !!
For calendar, Google as a basis (with google calendar sync) is a great tool, but for contacts and bookmarks, i'm still hesitating.

AFAIK no one has been able to get Blackberry Connect working on the Polaris. This is on stock and non-stock ROMs. Check out the other threads on this topic here, I have a couple of posts floating around with links to sems.org where this same issue was also discussed.

Did you install/replace your HTC Home with a different version? Only the Polaris specfic HTC Home 'understands' the wheel. I used every bepe Version since the first one out and I never ever came across this bug.

Hi,
i have a problem with Bluetooth PAN.
With original ROM when i paired Cruise with my laptop, cruise provides PAN services to laptop, so i was able to connect to internet via this.
Since i upgraded to bepe .67, just bluetooth modem (DUN) is found during paring laptop with cruise, and no PAN.
Any other with this problem, or is here any way how to enable this ?

There are days where I just don't understand you guys. Why not try yourself? How do you want to get better/know more if you never try but always only ask and consume...?
Anyway. Your question. Well, you could find out by reading the thread or a little bit more comfortable: search all posts bepe did (in case you might want to ask: click his name, select "Find all posts by bepe") and then read the last one. If it's new for you, there's your answer. If it's an "old" (whatever that means) one, there's the other possible answer.

How about you go and find out now...?

bepe since i talk with him every day i know is busy working on something. dont know if he will be working on roms but of course i will be making a rom with his kitchen and im sure he'll give me all the stuff he would of used for his rom anyway(latest apps i mean). i'll be sure though to ask him tommorow since i know he is sleeping now if he will be releasing anything new.

Hello,
Greate ROM.
I have one issue with WWE 0.67.
The battery indicator always show that it's full even when it's about to die. Lookslike it didn't update it status in the title bar. When Iconnected it to the charge, it changed the icon to charging, but even efter diconnect it still displaying the same "charging" icon. The rest of the icons on the title bar appears to indicate proper status and changed appropriately.
Does any one had the same issue? Or may be the SPB GprsMonitor might cause that behaviour.

When I install this cab on Original HTC ROM, I have nothing to use it, and my icons are always small. I don't find the option like in Bepe ROM :
Parameters -> System -> Rom Settings -> Options. At this place, The Large Icons for Task Manager (Finger friendly Quick Menu on Today Screen) is enabled, and it's easy to switch in task bar with different application.

Consensus is that we can't get BC to work on the Cruise with stock or cooked ROMs. Check out the links to sems.org that I have linked to in posts in those threads, there's more information there. HTH.

Hi all. I would like to change the skin of the dialpad in this ROM. I have been searching all over but just can't seem to find any available skins. I did found this website: http://www.zombienexus.net/portal/gl_subdirectory.asp?srt=3&ord=1&sec=3&catid=85 with very beautiful skins but they don't seem to work on the polaris (or bepe's rom).

Could anybody happen to know a good place for dialpad skins that work on bepe's rom or a way/tutorial on how to make my own or how to get the zombienexus skins to work on polaris?

has anybody managed to get skype to work under bepe's rom? I use the latest version of the german full rom, and the installation routine of skype passes, but if I want to start it reads: some parts are missing (or similar).

any solution/ideas?

Latest available Skype Mobile version runs flawlessly for me
with bepe's 0.64 GER Opera Version. Didn't test 0.67 or other
variants though.

Polaris is the CODENAME of the device. Polaris devices are sold as HTC Touch Cruise, as o2 Xda orbit 2 and as Dopod P860. They are all the same hardware in different casings. The HTC owned e-club can only be accessed entering a valid HTC Touch Cruise serial though, o2 serials and dopod serials are not accepted.
For original o2 ROMs you'd have to download them from the o2 website, the Dopod ROM from the Dopod website.

No, not any Polaris, only the HTC Polaris which equals the HTC Touch Cruise. If you own an unbranded, not pre-locked, free HTC Touch Cruise, yes you can register there and download any ROM updates HTC provides. If you own a branded Touch Cruise, one from SFR France for example, or if you own an Xda orbit 2 or a Dopod, no, you can't download from HTC e-club.
But why don't you go there, register and try if the e-club accepts your devices serial number?

I'm using the latest ROM (version 0.67) but I can't seem to get the Dutch xt9 to work. Anyone else also having this problem?
There used to be a cab flying around on the boards here to get the Dutch xt9 working (which usually worked fine). But now it just gives me a long empty list when I want to select a language for the keyboard.

So, did anyone get another language working other than the standard languages already in the rom (especially Dutch). If so, please tell me :).

I am using the latest version right now and I am having trouble sending SMS messages? When I try to send one it simply says "Your text message cannot be sent." I am using the Messaging application included with WM.

Edit: Sorry, believed what the search thing said. Typed "sms" and returned no matches, typed "text" and found many with the letters "sms" in them... I guess the search feature can't handle three-letter strings? Now it works thanks to "Advanced Network Settings" in settings... GPRS -> GSM

I just reflahed to Bepe .067 but I'm still getting the UDK Blue screen on startup. It changes to the Bepe green splash and HTC. I flashed and reflashed but it stil starts with UDK's rom screen. Any suggestions as towhat is happening?

since all of the parts can be flashed independent, and that gives the most
flexibility for the most of us.

Hello ! 10x Bepe for this wonderful ROM, it's great. I have a question, how can i remove the TomTom icon from my today screen ? i've tried to find it on "today in settings, but it's not there, can anyone tell me how can i remove it from my today screen, i'm from romania, and i use iGo as a navigation software. Thanks in advance.

left softkey "new" and then tapping on "SMS", "email", "MMS".
This is not a generally included feature of the ROM, it's (I guess you are thinking of udK's ROM) a separate application you have to bake into the ROM. udK did this, bepe didnt. Guess the rest of the answer... ;)
You could of course get it from udK's ROM, put it somewhere on your current installation and then assign it to one of the softkeys.
