Regarding the use of Skype it's works fine for me except the fact that I can not use the internal speaker of the phone...when I call someone it goes automatically on the external speaker...

Question: when I start a new sms conversation the keyboard is locked in numeric mode...I can't write letters, the solution is to cancel the sms and to start again a new sms... Any solution ?

Hello everyboby,

I've just received my HTC cruise for 3 days and I decided yesterday to change ROMs (Bepe 0,67 premium, last radio and the SPL olipro). All is OK (faster) but I don't find the solution to put the good GSM parameters. I'm not able to call and receive call.
In fact, I only want to call and receive call (GSM) and to be able to connect internet by Wifi. All others connections (WAP, EDGE, 3G, GPRS etc ....)are not important.
But I don't know how adjust the GSM parameters. Please help me !!!!!!

In the original ROM (normal HTC), I had a special "automatic" tool to configure the GSM.

Not sure if this has already been posted, or whether it is to do with the rom or opera,

but when using opera the HTC keypad wont work on the browser... It works in the address bar, but not on any of the page forms and I have to switch to standard keyboard which is a reall ball ache when your thumb browsing... :)

The way is to hard reset (had the same problem unfortunatly)
FYI its best to preform hard reset once you have installed a new rom.
It was recomended on another thread by jibrill (sorry if misspelled)
and it works wonders for me (bepe's rom 0.67 premium)

RSS Hub is NOT included into the 0.67, find it here (http://www.mediafire.com/?kcmago01xhp) and just simply copy to the device and install.
P.S.: it's the english version :)

installed it about 1 week ago (standard 0.67 ROM 1.52.751.2.WWE) as well as Radio 1.64.08.21.

My findings till date:
1. nice piece of work ;
2. same issue as reported by others with Touch Keyboard. When I uncheck Touch XT9 in ROM settings (and confirm a restart) I can no more input characters (just numbers) in ABC mode. It works fine with Touch Qwerty keyboard but I find those buttons too small ;
3. I love the additional tabs for music and favorite people. Unfortunately I can not configure any person in the fourth column only (there are 5 columns). I can add someone but when I switch tabs the 4th column is empty again. Also when I delete others they come back again when I switch tabs.
4. find BT to work more stable with my Parrot PMK5800 set than standard HTC ROM;
5. find GPS to take longer to get quick fix (wll continue to evaluate here in morocco)

Have you disabled the cube? I found the same thing, that when I disabled the cube, I couldn't put something (which stayed) in the fifth position of the first row, and anything put in the fourth position of the second row jumped to the third position! Reenabling the cube let me put things where I wanted them again...

@benzo8, you are correct, I did disable the Cube.

When I enable it again I now can configure all of them without loosing any but only via the Touch Cube settings, it still won't work via the Favorite People's tab.
Which is ok I guess but makes you wonder

Found a problem in Bepe 0.67 GER Premium:

My BT CarKit THB Bury CC9060 synchronises phonebook entries automatically upon connection.
This works with all Polaris Radio-ROMs so far.

The CarKit displays: [firstname lastname] [phonenumber(s)]

With Bepe 0.67 GER Full it displays: [lastname, firstname] with no phonenumber(s)
It also asks upon first connection if CC9060 is allowed to access contact data (it does not with other ROMs including original O2 German WM6.0).

I have check all the phone number of the good and the wrong contact, and there is no common point between them.

I have about 250 contacts, most of them are in ISO + 33 (4) 12 34 56 78, other is write like that 04 12 34 56 78.

If some one can help me, it would be great!!!

Read Polaris > Polaris > Dutch wordcompletion with HTC Touch Keypad ? (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355762). Make sure to set "Library5"=dword:00000008 instead of 00000007. I suggest to put your questions on Dutch tx9 in that thread to keep this thread on Bepe's ROM clean from issues not related to this ROM.

You can also use the Dutch tx9 cab which is posted in this post of Maryan (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1672823#post1672823) and doesn't need the registry adjustments.

I followed the steps and it upgraded fine. Thanks for the help. The upgraded rom seems fine up to now. Everything works as it should although I have not tested GPS yet.

Go to advanced network settings and make sure that the sms servise is set to use gsm

I agree, I have had no problems with this rom at all. Bepe will come around at his on accord. His job is not to make us roms.

We should be alot more thankful these cooks even share their goods with us.

First of all I love your rom. You the man. :D Polaris works so fast now.
Have one problem. I have upgraded to Polaris_WWE_0.67_Premium_bepe and also flashed new radio rom Radio 1.64.08.21. From that time I have max 2 bars on my network range, most of the time it is 1 bar or none. I have downgraded radio rom by radio rom to the lowest I could find. I have used those:

Polaris Radio 1.58.25.14
Polaris Radio 1.58.26.20
Polaris Radio 1.64.06.04
Polaris Radio 1.64.08.21
At the moment I am on 1.64.08.21. GPS works great, the same BT and WiFi. Phone is the only problem. Any one had similar problem?
I have a XDA Orbit 2 form O2 UK. Any one has the original radio rom for that network?

Also original rom for that XDA had 4 walls of the cube in touchflo. Yours has only got 3 (not cube any more :P). Is there a way of adding the 4th one?

Remarks after upgrading to 0.67 Premium:

I have problems with the phone reception. (still the original Dutch version)
Can't send SMS's. Since this is mentioned before it might be a bug? Service center numbers are OK (Wizzard used to select T-mobile NL)
Overal the PDA side of the phone runs fine and a bit smoother than my original 6.0

Going to update the radio and check if this solves the problem.

Quick question. Have tried to search forums, but haven't been able to find an answer. Whenever I try to load a different input method, it lags considerably. It takes about 5-10 seconds to load the options. I have disabled the input methods I don't use. The ones I don't use I have also deleted the reg keys. I only have 3 loaded so far...the touch keyboard, touch qwerty, and keyboard.

Also, was wondering how to change to touch qwerty as default.

Please help as this is an extremely annoying problem.

just uninstalled a T9 input cab and after a soft-reset everything worked fine again!

Found a problem in Bepe 0.67 GER Premium:

My BT CarKit THB Bury CC9060 synchronises phonebook entries automatically upon connection.
This works with all Polaris Radio-ROMs so far.

The CarKit displays: [firstname lastname] [phonenumber(s)]

With Bepe 0.67 GER Full it displays: [lastname, firstname] with no phonenumber(s)
It also asks upon first connection if CC9060 is allowed to access contact data (it does not with other ROMs including original O2 German WM6.0).

Now I found the solution to this:
When my XDA Orbit 2 asks if I want to grant access to contacts and I say NO names and phonenumbers get synchronised.
If I say YES only names get synchronised.
Will inform THB Bury about that.

I fixed it downloading the CAB Touch Keyboard - Keypad found on this forum (now I have black keyboard/keypad instead of the white one).

I have flashed 0.66 and now 0.67 and I use SPB mobile shell 2.1. The phone won't go into stand by anymore! If I press the button at the top the screen goes off for 1 second and then then comes straight back on.

If I restart, it's okay for 2/3 mins but after that same again.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I don't know, if it is only an issue of bepes rom:
I use the XT9 writing on the Polaris.
It works fine in pocketoutlook.
In flexmail it only suggests on word in grey, before typing a letter. If typing the first letter then, the grey word gets active and you have to delete it manually.
Any suggestions, how to get it working properly in flexmail?

perhaps it's because of you're 'fixing' back to the black keyboard pad.
I use the 0.67 without any fixes and it works the way I wrote.
I had problem with the figures too, but after restart it disappeared, so I'm using the standard white keypad.

Hi,

Is there any way of disabling or redirecting the tomtom start command in
Polaris WWE 0.67_Premium. I have navigator 6.010 with maps activated but I am unable to activate the my maps in the 6.030 version built into the rom. The start command is the same, navigator.exe but the icon on the start page loads up the rom version 6.30.

I have to say absolutely great, had never before such a great rom on my other devices as this one here.
Works great and stable.

There are several New "Black" / "Cooked" ROM versions for Polaris with
WM6.1

and there are also some versions using the Diamond new ROM

I wanted to ask
a) what are the differences between the ROM versions?
there are several of BEPE several of PDAMobiz and several of udk how do i know what is the difference between them and which is the final / best of each one of them?
I tried reading in the threads but could not understand very well ...

b) can some one PLEASE give a guide for "dummies" on how do I replace the ROM on my Polaris with one of the above ROMs (do each of them needs a different way?)

c) How can I backup my current Polaris ROM version before trying to upgrade?

d) where can i find an original Polaris ROM version?

Did anyone manage to get the Bebe keyboard working with the new Opera 9.5.1004 build? Made the following changes

Open a registry editor and go to HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9
Add a multi-string key named "CustomClassNames" (no quotes)
Add "WMOpera_EditEx" and "Opera_MainWndClass" (no quotes)

Text is written in the text field of the webpage but as soon as I click the submit button on the website the text is gone again.

The only thing I am missing is the icon bar at the bottom of the home-screen.
Is there any way to re-enable this? I really like this funktion though it's taking some space...

I have intsalled bepes 0.67 WWE standard ROM in my Polaris. Two bugs up to now :
a. Sometimes, trying to turn phone on (after being in Airplane mode all night long) i can't (pressing phone on or airplane mode off button in Communication Manager). The only way to activate the phone is to reset the device.
b. Sometimes the sound option although has been selected in Normal mode it turns to Vibrtate or Silent without any action by me.
Does somebody has faced any of these bugs ?

Take a look in "Setting"-->"System" there could be "SMS Chat", disable it and you'll have the classic style ;)

Hello these are my problems with this version (0.67).(Sorry for my English):

1.- When I disconnect the PDA's handsfree bluetooth Parrot MK6100 and received a call, I hear the person who called me, but the other person can't hear me. I need to reset the PDA to receive calls again.


2.- Other times without being connected to the PDA to the Parrot has also been impossible to speak by telephone because the other person does not hear my voice.

3.- The voice dialing doesn't exist in this version.


4.- Sometimes when I receive an SMS, no sound but a continuous vibration until I reset the PDA.

Sorry, but I have to install WM 6.0 because WM6.1 version 0.67 had many problems for me.

OK. It's working now....
The only thing is - I don't know how to apply the settings for MMS.
I'm on O2-Loop germany and I have to enter the settings for the Server manually - In Windows Mobile 6.0 I could do this in a tab "MMS Konfiguration" / Server... But I can't find this in Mobile 6.1. argh...

I need REALLY some help....
Normally I should go to START - MESSAGING - PROPERTIES/EINSTELLUNGEN and then I have to enter the server-address etc... But NOW - in 6.1 - I can't do this.
I can see in the menu "MMS-Options" and it's NOT grey but if I click on it nothing happens. Is this a bug? Or what?

Go to Settings -> Advanced Network -> SMS service and change SMS over to GSM prefered. For some reason this sometimes changes when 'playing' with the network settings.

But, testing the last 0.67 premium rom on my Polaris, i can't connect to internet anymore! The phone tells me it's for an unknown reason! I'm on FR SFR and i'm using the 1.64.08.21 radio rom.

When i updated to this Bepe rom the word suggestions don't work on the basic keyboard but on the touch keyboard...?

Great ROM Bepe, and this is such a minor thing I almost feel embarrassed to post it, but maybe you can look at it for the next version...

Is it just me or does anyone else think the zooming function of the 360°Track wheel is back to front. I usually associate Clockwise with Zooming In. Is this function determined by the individual programs or the operating system?

If it is the Operating System, is the a registry hack to flip it?

I fixed it downloading the CAB Touch Keyboard - Keypad found on this forum (now I have black keyboard/keypad instead of the white one).


Another bug/issue: when I write an SMS in the "To" field, after pressing few characters it used to show the contacts available with those few input.
Now, instead, I have to insert some characters, and then click "Menus- Check Names".

Is there a way to have it back the auto fill in the "To" field?

ok this is what i have found. The touch querty board does work with word suggestion but it does not add a space after a word has been picked. If i change keyboard to the plain "keyboard" the word predicition does not work. The other two keyboards work fine.

Ok Update.. i have downloaded the original HTC keyboard cab and installed it. Now the word suggestions work fine and that is all good. However that added another bug or something is just messed ut. Now i can't get the automatic name check on SMS/Email to work i.e. when you type in the name of whom is to get the sms the phone usually gives you a name after a couple of letters. Now it gives nothing.. any ideas.. I have seen other people have the same problem in this thread. And yes i have hard reset the phone between all updates and installs.

First, if I install this ROM on my Touch Cruise, and after that I do a hard reset, the original ROM will be restored?

- Is it possible to change the item on the quick launcher?

just want to let you know that I successfully flashed my O2 Orbit2 with the 0.67 version. But I have to use se HardSPL with the 0.67 copied to an old 256mb sd card to get this work. The 'normal' way over usb just didn't work.
Can't get past 6-10% in the progressbar during flashing and then it stopped with a communication error.

Maybe it's my hardware as I'm using a MacBookPro with Parallels? But at least it's working now :-)

Sorry if this has been answered but I've tried a search and there are so many hits with different problems I thought it'd be best if I post this afresh:

I'm trying to use Bepe's rom with my company's exchange server but when I configure my e-mail account the 'exchange server' option for what type of e-mail it is isn't there. All I have is 'Internet e-mail' and 'Custom' domain.

I've tried using customer domain but there are settings which I'm not sure the exchange servers use.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

I think that's a thing everyone has to find out personally for him-/herself coz tastes are so different. one likes stable but slow roms, others like fast but accept bugs... in my own opinion i currently hop between udk's Vega and Diamond rom. its a good mix between stable and fast and nearly bugfree. ASerg is maybe the fastest Polaris rom i ever tested. bepe 0.67 was my first Polaris flash i tried, i think it is ok, but needs another update, for which we are waiting so long at the moment, but respect that bepe is short of freetime to work on this. i have not yet tried other roms...

I am on the brink of upgrading.. was wondering if there is an idiot proof "how-to" op upgrading.. I have a Dutch, SIM lock free Cruise, and do not want to f#ck-up!
- do I need a hard spl?? or is that only intended for locked deveices?

- Fully charge polaris and hook it up?
- run the RomUpdateUtility and lean back?

Always best to look around for what you are missing that blaming the developer. He did not put it on for a reason - *ugger knows what the reason was - hence I am not a developer ;)

I think that's a thing everyone has to find out personally for him-/herself coz tastes are so different. one likes stable but slow roms, others like fast but accept bugs... in my own opinion i currently hop between udk's Vega and Diamond rom. its a good mix between stable and fast and nearly bugfree. ASerg is maybe the fastest Polaris rom i ever tested. bepe 0.67 was my first Polaris flash i tried, i think it is ok, but needs another update, for which we are waiting so long at the moment, but respect that bepe is short of freetime to work on this. i have not yet tried other roms...

Can't agree more with you. However, can't you say which is the fastest you tried and which was the bug free?

It's a problem of Outlook 2007. Use MS Outlook 2003 (see attachede disk to your HTC) and everything will be OK!

Actually, it does on mine.

I have VISTA and Pack Office 2007 and there is no problem whatsoever for sync.

Ask your Company Administrator, probably there is a filter which has to be removed. (supposition)

The Basic Edition 0.67 seems to be very stable and clean. Did not find a major bug ! Tested the standard Edition I think it was WWE or GER where Office is missing somehow....

I'm trying to update my polaris for 2 days now but it doesnt work.

HTC Touch Cruise Vodaphone Dutch
Rom version: 1.27.404.1 NLD
Rom Date: 01-15-08
Radio version: 1.58.21.23
----------------------------

Flashed Hard-SPL-V2 succesfully, but it didnt took 10 minutes but more like 10 seconds..is that ok? When i enter boat loader it says right version.

I downloaded and tried several roms but when I enter the bootloader I got the grey screen with loading only for 1 sec?? The bootloader scr says usb.
Then I run Polaris_CustomRUU.exe on the pc but nothing happens.
Am I doing something wrong here?

You will see a tricolor screen on you PDA, and you have to see SPL-2.20.Olinex string. I see the tricolor scr and the text: POLA100 MFG SPL-2.20.Olinex CPLD-2

From the Hard-spl folder, run RomUpdateUtility.exe, or Rom.exe, (Next, Next….) The screen will be grey, and a few minutes later the new rom will be installed. This part I don't get...do I put the downloaded Cooked Rom in the Hard-spl folder?? Cause the guide says a folder.

Yep those are the steps i followed, but nothing happens.

Even worse my phone says now no networking service.
I tried to manually add my phone provider Orange(dutch), but it doesnt work...

Hi Folks,

I really like the stability of Bepe´s Rom and its availibility in German...unfortunately bepe has switcht to a HTC diamond so the 0.67 is the last version.

In the meantime I´ve played around with a few other Roms. There are some speed improvements and the GPS signal gets found a lot faster.

Is there an EASY way to migrate features ?? l like German Language file, & Bluetooths drives from Bepe´s with the speed of the never WM61 version for an other Rom like that of UK

Is this perphas possible to do with the Polaris Kitchen?... or what do i need?

But I can't choose it in Settings->input->Touch keypad.

Only have English, French and so on...

- ePlus-Empfang sehr schlecht (atm habe ich zu Hause keinen Empfang, der vor dem Update immer gut war). Testweise die Karte in ein anderes Handy gesteckt um Netzprobleme auszuschliessen - dort besteht Empfang.

I'm a newbie about flash HTC. I tried this rom: my screen displayed lot of color and after a progress bar, but it still at 0 percent, and after some minutes, the flash utility tell me it can't communicate with the device ... i have AVG Free (i tried to disable the resident protection, but it didn't work better)

Try the Murata Radio ROM Version 1.58.25.14 which seems to work best.... as your Radio 01.64.08.21 does not fully support all instances of the Polaris which results in a bad reception. This issue might be caused by some parts (Parts from the manufacturer Murata) which are used in the HF part of the device that are not compatible with non-Murata Radio ROMs. Murata radio ROMs do obviously work well on all Polaris devices.

Thanks for the tip. With Radio_Murata_PPAS_1.58.21.23.rar (didn´t found the 25.14 in a rush) the Polaris has now good mobile-signal with e-plus. Also GPS works better. :)

Thanks for link. I´ve tested it directly, but the 1.58.21.23 has imho a better reception than 1.58.25.14, both mobil-cell and gps (the polaris did not stir from the spot, to not distort the results of the test).

Are your wrote about exactly Murata version of this RadioROM or you tested only original version?
Murata_21_23 has some bugs like a don't connect to GPRS or EDGE net after very much SMS. Also, after some times I get very poor sounds and GPS error. After reflashing all was good again.
But at common view is much better then last original ROM.

Now, I flash Murata_25_14 and will test it. Report will be. :D

Very poor result of testing of 25.14 Radio ROM. Many reasons for delete it Radio from my disk and my Polaris. :mad:

This rom is fantastic (I tried the basic one). Very Compliments Bepe. It's too fast!
However I have some problem:
-can't install IGO8
-got error running audiomanager (I tried to install several audiomanager's cab)
-doesn't take keypad of default, but only the keyboard standard.

However very very good work!

I have searched all the thread but probably i'm the only one.

I have install the Opera Rom and everything is fine except the followings:

- during the incoming call in the notification messagge i can ONLY read the Number of the caller. The name is write but there is no space to display it and is covered by the previus line (Incoming Voice Call).

- the contact association works only if the contact is added in the TouchFlo screen.

Could some one help me with the first issue...the second one is easy to walk around.
