[Q]Wrong IPL and SPL - will not come out of tri-color - Any help on command lines?

Other Affected Users with OEM P3450 Bricks:
Orange UK (x2) - Both Fixed by Olipro
Orange FR (x3) - One Fixed by Olipro
T-Mobile UK (x1) - Fixed by Olipro
T-Mobile Italy? (x1)
Vodafone Spain (x1)



I stupidly risked loading a new ROM without seeing anyone else's feedback first! (last time I will do that!)
This was the ROM:

I ran

then I loaded the ROM

It loaded to 1% then the device reset then continued to 2% and reset again then came up with error 297 "invalid vender id"
and reset again.

I now have
IPL 2.20.0002
SPL 2.28.0000

tri colour display which I have tried to fix using the MTTY program

and when I type "ResetDevice" I wind up back at the tricolour

When I plug in the USB it shows in the white/grey strip at the bottom of the screen but I now get errors like
"corrupted image" if I try to load my original ROM
or
"Invalid vender id" from other images
I dont recall the IPL being 2.20.0002 before!

I have tried the rename of the .nbh file on a freshly formatted (FAT32) memory card and boot and saw a "Checking SD" then "certificate not valid" message then back to the tri-colour screen TSoD (tri-color Screen Of Death).

Can anyone help me?

I've done some tinkering - I figured, the thing is dead, dead, dead. So... what the h.

Some interesting commands are available at the MTTY screen but I cannot find a reference anywhere to them and the onboard OS help is not helpful.

This makes the RUU indicator turn on in the top right of the tri-color screen

I am really sorry to hear you are in the same boat. We'll work together to cash our paper-weights in to working phones again if at all possible.

I just need to locate an original code signed RUU ROM from Orange and I believe that will get us all back on line. (I say *just* but you know how hard that might be!)

Any chance you could locate your original signed ROM image or get one from Orange Support In France? Are Orange support in France as bad as they are in the UK? (i.e. forget it they wont be helpful)

I am guessing here but I think that IPL 2.20.0002 may hold a clue.
If there was some way of changing the .0002 to .0000 then it would boot from the internal ROM/RAM and we would all be back in business.

Guess:
.0000 - ROM
.0001 - Ext ROM
.0002 - SD Card

Sadly I have Noooooo idea how to achieve that or even if I am right so...

I've PM'd Olipro and hope to get a resolution with his assistance. If it can be shared (i.e. it can be done by amateurs like me) then I will try to assist others.

Check the wiki
rename the ruu_signed.nbh to ELF0IMG.nbh and put in on a clean (no other files) Fat32 formatted sd card.

You have:
1. Formatted an SD Card with Fat 32
2. Copied a RUU_SIGNED.NBH to your SD Card
3. Renamed the RUU_SIGNED.NBH to ELF0IMG.nbh
4. Reset your device

5. You see a message but only for an instant saying searching for SD Card and then you're into the TSoD?

Can you get some diagnostic info via MTTY using a usb cable and MTTY?

I cannot see a valid ROM for your device.
But... All is not lost.
You should be able to get your device running again.

You need to get your Device ID and your CID and send a private message (PM) to Olipro who is a major contributor. You can request he writes you a custom hard-spl specifically for your device ID /CID which will have you running again in about 5 minutes or at least at a stage where you can load a ROM.

yeah, the elf/elfin are DOC devices, but the memory sizes are different, so the partitioning is different too. due to that, when you flash the non matching bootloader it then will fail to flash *anything* because that relies on partitioning on DOC devices.

but we managed to load SPL to ram so no worries now... :P

edit: it is not partitioning. sadly the problem is at a lower level, namely, different block size is used by elf and elfin SPL's.

Hello to everybody!

Baygokce, and many of us had (or have) the same problem.
I have spoked with Mr. Olipro and he stated that that kind of problem can be fixed, so I was little bit relaxed, knowing that my elf won’t turn into a (little) brick at the end.
I was trying to solve (our known) problem for about ten days. I have spoked to cool guys Leon and Dimushor (thanks for advices!), searched the net, but my efforts didn’t succeed.
So when I was prepared for phone service, and Olipro had free time, we manage to fix it very quick.
So, for now, my recommendation is, without any doubt, that if someone can’t fix problem from this post with original ROMs or similar, not to wait, but address directly to Olipro (by PM)…

And I will join the ever-growing line-up who screwed up an ELFIN while trying the USPL V1.0 (I went to step 3 which APPEARED to be successful at the time and that was that). It's a Rogers ELFIN and the existing software was rather buggy, so I tried to help the owner and told him I'd get an official OR un-official non-operator ROM in there. It is now stuck in bootloader also (2.21.0002/2.28.0000). I must mention that I also get the split-second message with a white background "searching for SD card" on power-up then right to bootloader. I can indeed get the RUU text at the top right-hand corner of the screen via the mtty command "ruurun 1" then ResetDevice, but I only end up with ERROR 270 or "INVALID VENDOR ID" in any subsequent actions (after somewhere around 2-3% depending on what I am tryin to flash), then back to bootloader without the RUU text. And I will join the ever-growing line-up who screwed up an ELFIN while trying the USPL V1.0 (I went to step 3 which APPEARED to be successful at the time and that was that). It's a Rogers ELFIN and the existing software was rather buggy, so I tried to help the owner and told him I'd get an official OR un-official non-operator ROM in there. It is now stuck in bootloader also (2.21.0002/2.28.0000). I must mention that I also get the split-second message with a white background "searching for SD card" on power-up then right to bootloader. I can indeed get the RUU text at the top right-hand corner of the screen via the mtty command "ruurun 1" then ResetDevice, but I only end up with ERROR 270 or "INVALID VENDOR ID" in any subsequent actions (after somewhere around 2-3% depending on what I am tryin to flash), then back to bootloader without the RUU text. the USPL can not screw the device. if u flash a wrong USPL, it will at the most make the phone unbootable. u must have flashed this ROM for ME which landed u in trouble.

Well I am not sure I flashed a wrong USPL, but I suppose I may have done something wrong along the way. I guess the phone is not completely useless, but I need to find out what it takes to get it working again.

u need a shipped ROM matching with the CID/DID of the phone OR u can PM olipro to help u out.

Yeah thanks - I PM'd him already - waiting for a response. I doubt I can find a matching ROM for this Rogers ELFIN (unless it's a dump), so I'll have to go for the alternative plan.

guys not sure if this helps... The other day i tried to cid unlock my orange p3450.. I ended up with the rgb screen.. tried everything to get this phone running to no avail...So I called the orange shop to send it in for repair.. whilst siting on the phone i decided to run RUU_Elfin_DOPODASIA_WWE_2.20.707.1B_4.1.13.51_03.0 7.90_BLUE_Ship_Reduced..... to see what happened and hey it brought my phone back online... firstly it told me that this version was not compatible with my phone then the phone restarted with no problems....! i downloaded this file from xda-site.... try it guys and do let me know if it does what happened to me...

Hi dsixda, everything was fine till i tried solved up the step with Find the Card ID, after commands psdread -l or prapi -s HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies "00001001" integer 1 has nothing happend...

A have a problem with my VPA touch:

CID: VODAP102
RAM/ROM: 128/256
IPL: 2.24.0002
SPL: 2.26.0000

It starts only in bootloader mode (tri-color screen), and do nothing.
I've tried several roms before but none of these helped me. And I can't get MTTY working.
