on the top of the screen that status bar.... i had an icon of a satellite with 3 "radio waves"going away from the satellite never seen this icon can't find it in 6800 or mogul user manual?
any ideas?
on verizon dcd 3.0.1
EDIT:
also notification tab popped up but it would do nothing if i tried to select it or the icon...
i assume my phone was sending information because the bars were going away from the satellite.... not a comfortable feeling..

could it have been a data connection Icon? like the WiFi and the regular data connection at once?
Who knows you might have an application that has a setting to get frequent data updates. such as quick gps, push email, HTC HOME Weather.........
Because I believe DCD removed the customer feedback option from his roms so it couldn't be that.

I believe that is the QuickGPS update notification... Do you have QuickGPS? If so, look in the options and see if it is set to show you when it is needing an update.

it could have been something like a data connection however it's nothing i've ever seen.
i do have quick gps but i have all the options unchecked.. i update it myself. only "automatic" thing i have is email but you would think with the amount of email i get it would have show the symbol before..
i only found one other instance of it last night and someone said it happened to them on PPCgeeks

Could it have been started up when active sync initiated it self?
or even the location on or Voice Privacy Icon? Sounds like this is a weird buggy issue. I havent seen a satellite Icon here, but i have seem some small things here and there.
update: maybe it is something of an update that has been sent from your provider?

The satellite icon has to do with QUICK GPS
This icon shows up when ever your coordinates that where downloaded expire. Then all you have to do to remove it is update QUICK GPS by downloading your coordinates again.
Here is a screen shot on my ppc of how the icon looks.
