If you want to revive a dead/bricked device you most follow this guide:

READ THIS FAQ FIRST:


- Q: My device was cid unlocked successfully, but when i tried to flash a new rom (NON SHIPPED ROM), my device has stucked at:
[1] Bootloader screen with a RUU sign at the right top of the srcreen
[2] Smart Mobility or Operator logo screen.
- A: [1] Most of these cases the device shows the RUU text at the right top corner of the screen and you have a chance. Press Reset Button+Camera Button realise Reset button but keep holding camera button, once u get the bootloader window without the RUU text press Reset button again, voilá.
[2] First AVOID to flash any kind of shipped rom, at least you have your original rom (CHECK HERE (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=379034)), put your device in bootloader mode then try to reflash with any DUMPED or COOKED ROM, if does not work may be you device was not unlocked, did you know DEVICE ID and CID ID from your device?, THE ONLY WAY IS FIND YOUR ORIGINAL ROM. So read the guide.

- Q: Is it the same being stuck at the Bootloader screen (Tricolor) and "Smart Mobility" screen?
- A: These are different situations. Keep reading.

- Q:...but my Elf / Elfin it's half dead it turns on and keeps restarting at the "Smart Mobility" or "Operator Logo" screen.
- A: Are you kidding? Try a Hard Reset, if not, 95% sure that it's dead so READ THE GUIDE.

- Q:My device it's stuck @ the bootloader screen.
- A: First AVOID to flash your device again try this first: In most of these cases the device shows the RUU text at the right top corner of the screen and you have a chance. Press Reset Button+Camera Button realise Reset button but keep holding camera button, once u get the bootloader window without the RUU text press Reset button again, voilá. Or Just run MTTY and it's commands till the device restart. Read step (7) from this guide to see how.

- Q: My device won't boot correctly but it's not stuck at Bootloader or Smart Mobility screens.
- A: 1st try a Soft Reset, if not, try removing your SD card then boot, if not, try a Hard Reset, if not, keep reading.

- Q: I don't know how to perform a HARD RESET.
- A: Read this Wiki entry: Elf_Resets (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Elf_Resets)

- Q: I been trying USPL but my device stuck at the black screen or penguin screen. WHAT TO DO???
- A: DON'T try to flash a rom at this situation, sometimes you need perform USPL process 3 times to get your device CID UNLOCKED. Just do a soft reset, your device most boot ok, retry USPL process till your device boot by it self. And this is very important, before you test any rom verify that your device it's already CID UNLOCKED, read arround STEP 7 to know how.

- Q:USPL works from bootloder mode?
- A:No, you can't make a CID unlock from Bootloader mode.

- Q:I found a dumped rom that match my Device, how can i revive it with this one?
- A:You can't because is not a certified ROM, and your device has to be CID UNLOCKED first, but that is the reason because your are here, you can't do a USPL process from bootloader mode.

- Q: I been trying a sort of original ROMs but all of them stops at 3% and i get: ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDER ID or ERROR [244] : INVALID MODEL ID
- A: That is beacause those roms don't match your original DEVICE or CID ID. Read the complete guide.

- Q: The ROMUpdateUtility Shows ERROR [270] : IMAGE IS CORRUPTED.
- A: You are trying to flash a non certified rom (dumped rom) into a non cid unlocked device YOU CAN'T DO THAT!!!. Read the guide.

- Q: I did a dump (ROM BACKUP) from my device, could this revive my device?
- A: YES, AND ONLY YES, if your device stay cid unlocked ( g_cKeyCardSecurityLevel = 00 ). If not... READ THE GUIDE.

- Q:My Device and CID id change on every flash action?
- A:No it's always the same, it could not change.

- Q:Is it correct open a new thread for every dead device in this planet?
- A:NOT!, it's not correct!!!, doubts or questions post in this thread.

I) You can't do nothing if you don't know your device's DEVICE ID and CID ID


Method A:New way to find your Device ID / CID / IMEI / Serial etc. (no more MTTY/SnoopyPro!!) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=418892) (thx to dsixda) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=673068) once you get your CID ID and DEVICE ID go STEP 7.
NOTE: THIS METHOD WORKS ONLY IF Activesync it's active

Method B: Step By Step Guide to get your MODEL ID and CID ID from a dead or alive device:
NOTE: THIS METHOD WORKS WITHOUT ActiveSync


1.- My Operating System is:

a) Windows XP--------FOLLOW STEP 3

b) Windows Vista ---- FOLLOW STEP 2

2.- Read and Install driver from here ---- USBAS (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=291723)----MORE DETAILS (http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=23&Itemid=27)---- Could be better if u restart Windows at this point ----Then go STEP 4

3.- Disable “USB CONNECTIONS” from Mobile Device Center

a) Open Microsoft Activesync
b) File
c) Connection Setting
d) Disable “ Allow USB Connections”
e) OK
f) FOLLOW STEP 5

4.- Open Windows Mobile Device Center “WMDC”

a) Now navigate into the WMDC (Start>All Programs>Windows Mobile Device Center) and click on the "connection settings" menu icon

b) In the connection settings menu untick "allow USB connections" then press OK.

5.- Turn on your DEVICE in BOOTLOADER MODE then connect your USB cable, USB sign most apper at the left bottom of your screen device.

a) if dont know how to get your device in Bootloader mode visit: Elf_Resets (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Elf_Resets)

6.- Download SnoopyPro (USB PORT SNIFFER) (http://sourceforge.net/project/downloading.php?group_id=34567&use_mirror=internap&filename=SnoopyPro-0.22.zip&83755714) Or any other googled USB PORT SNIFFER (http://www.google.com.mx/search?hl=es&q=%22usb+PORT+Sniffer%22&btnG=Buscar&meta=)

a) Unzip to any folder
b) run SnoopyPro.exe
c) Press "Toggle USB Devices button.

f) Select by right click over any " POCKETPC USB SYNC " and select INSTALL AND RESTART

7.- Download and run MTTY.EXE as show in this THREAD

a) After you do a success connection to your device run in to your MTTY window the following commands:

NOTE: Don't be lazy, Type the commands if not it will not work.

Ok, you got it?? Well...

= FF Means that you have a CID LOCKED Device, you most find your original ROM to revive it. So keep reading step B)

= 00 Means that your device stay CID Unlocked yet, so you can try with almost any kind of rom, i suggest that you try DUMPED or COOKED roms first to revice your device.

If u did:

METHOD A: go to II (Roman number 2)

METHOD B: keep reading


b) Look at your Snoopypro window and if everything comes fine, you will get a LOG window like this:

c) Save that LOG, and then open it with any HEX EDITOR/VIEWER like Tiny Hexer (http://www.mirkes.de/files/mpth_18.exe) that is free, and serach your DEVICE ID and CID ID that will shows like this window:

In this particular case:

DEVICE ID: ELF010052
CID ID: HTC__001

NOTE: All the results most have 8 (eigth NO MORE, NO LESS) characters if not try again.



II) Once you have your DEVICE and CID ID, you most find a ROM that match both elements, so you can take a look here to find your ROM :

III)Flash your Device with your Original ROM, and this is your HAPPY ENDING.

Bad Ending...


IV) If you don't find your device, sorry im appologize but at this moment your ROM is not availabe, so keep it googling.


V) Contact your nearest HTC center or your service provider tech center and ask for your warranty (if you have one).


VI) Contact Olipro (http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=259688) asking for help, but he has a rate.


VII) Info about Dumped ROMS:

Very strange... I did everything as told here. I disabled USB connections, got the tricolor screen, used snoopypro and mtty as described.

However, I get no response from mtty when I write password BsaD5SeoA and press enter. All I get is an empty line. My IPL is 2.20.0002, my SPL is 2.20.0000

What do you think is wrong? Why doesn't mtty work for me?

OK I solved it, you have to write the password by hand, copy and paste doesn't work. :)

Fixed, you can get the info if you put:

"ruurun 1" ... then after device restarts @ bootloader mode (RUU) -> mtty -> "ruurun 0"

or straight to "ruruun 0" command once.

I had downloaded SnoopyPro-0.22 and mtty software

All first step done very well. but when I change the Port to USB on dialog box open port setting and choose RTS/CTS then it was showing me message"USB port is not open."

due to this I am unable to do Step#7. and run the command.
as a result unable to get CID and model ID.

please help me.

Have you disable USB Connections @ ur Mobile Device Center Settings?

So I've finially figured out my model ID and CID and downloaded the original rom.

Worked out to being a Elf 010150 and CID is Roger001. So I downloaded :
Rogers_Elfin_2.21.631.1_WWE__OS_dump.zip

I tried to flash my phone and it went to 3% and restarted and turned off.

My computer shows Error 270 image is corrupt.

Please help me find a solution! I would be truly grateful! Thank you for your time!

this will only work if ur device is CID unlocked. dumped ROMs dont work on CID locked devices.

Yes you can do a dump from an other device with the same rom, BUT, if your device is not cid unlocked you can't revive it.

Did you make the CID UNLOCK test? read STEP 7 from the guide.

2-Appeal to your warranty.

rebooted entered pin and fetched a coffee.
When i came back the device was off,
tried to restart it didn't work,
the orange led is flashing about 8 sec on, 2 sec off,
i am able to enter bootstrap loader, but if i start the device the boot splash screen occours and after 5 sec the power turns off.

seems like u've flashed the Elf's USPL onto ur Elfin. download the Elfin_USPL and flash it in bootloader mode (directly run the romupdateutility in RUU folder after unzipping).

Ok read thru all the 4 pages but it doesn't explain a single thing about how to revive a DEAD elf. My elf doesn't turn on and before it died, symptoms were 1) In bootloader mode when connect to pc via usb, the tri color changes colour to some shitty color. 2) Auto shut and hangs at the smart mobility black screen. Been trying to power up since last evening but no success.

Anybody with this problems!!!

anyone knows how to revive a DEAD Elf? Or is this topic only for semi dead Elf that can go into bootloader mode. My Elf can't be turned "ON", it that dead?

Yes i'm crossposting and Double Posting.

1. Stop ActiveSync, by Task Manager (press Ctrl + Alt + Delete)
kill two processes rapimgr.exe and wcescomm.exe

2. put your device into the cradle

3. Run mtty and Choose WCEUSBSH001 in 'PORT' (if it doesn't show then you didn't stop all active sync processes above!)

4. type "set 16 0" without the quotes to tell bootloader to boot the OS after reset. (for some devices it can also be "set 14 0")

5. type "task 8" to get your device formatted

6. type "task 0" to ask your device reboot

7. take the device out of the cradle, and manually reset it if it does not do that already.


Method is for Kaiser.
But a big change that Bootloader Accepts the same commands.

It worked until... I used Mtty, i launched ruurun 0, immediatly the following one and i disconnected my phone... i just realized, once it was disconnected that something was in progress...

Since that operation impossible to be detected on USB.... :eek:

Have you CID unlocked the Elf? From your details it looks like you have flashed the ElfIn USPL to Elf. Try to flash a shipped ROM t your device, that may be the only way to revive your device. Check the other threads in this forum which mentions different recovery methods

Have you CID unlocked the Elf? From your details it looks like you have flashed the ElfIn USPL to Elf. Try to flash a shipped ROM t your device, that may be the only way to revive your device. Check the other threads in this forum which mentions different recovery methods

My problem is my elf keeps restarting at the "Smart Mobility" while no SIM inside and will struck at the "Smart Mobility" if no SIM inside.
In the 3 color screen my device didnot shows the RUU text at the right top corner of the screen. I had original ROM of my elf, but i can not flash it ( fail at 3%)

Yes i know but its relatively easy to find.

Most of the names for "DEVICE ID" begins with:


ELF01
ELF02
ELF03

So just do a search with one of those strings.

But there is 2 ways.... one is do de USPL process before flash a rom... or with the MTTY process just check for the "g_cKeyCardSecurityLevel = 00" line.

Most of the time you dont need the USPL process to flash a cooked or dumped rom.

We don't recomend, if its not necesary, the flash of shipped roms. because cooked roms are better. Shipped rom are useful for warranty process or if you want to sell device as it comes out of the box.

ok i have managed to run the upgrade and installed blue elves 5.0. it went to 100% and installed then it reset the phone, went to the HTC touch flash screen then shuts off again :confused::confused::mad:

You mean Splash screen, not flash screen.. right?

And which Rogers ROM did you flash? The Elf dumped ROM or the Elfin dumped ROM? Do you know which device (Elf or Elfin?) you have?

You are so lucky. Because most of the time "NOT ALWAYS" ELFIN roms asesinate ELF devices, and that was what you did. This does not happen on ELFIN devices flashed with ELF roms, it wil shows only the half of memory.

So take care... and try to find your original rom ONLY for ELF.

Have you try register your device at HTC ASIA - > HTC CLUB, may be, just may be you can get your original ROM from there.

no. unfortunately, u can not use a dumped ROM on a dead device to revive it.

After experiencing similar symptoms with my Elf, eg. no response whatsoever, I removed my battery and kept it out for approx. 5 minutes. Put it back in and the beast responded, turning on as before. Hope this helps someone.

Maybe your two front buttons are stuck?

Because, to hard reset you normally need to press reset while holding the two buttons. Maybe they got stuck somehow, so everytime you reset they get pressed.

See if you can tap those buttons a few times to get it out of that state.

The buttons are fine.
I got the phone from tmobile uk.
I have tried charging it the removing the battery for 30+ minutes.
I tried the usb method, it doesnt work.

Actually today morning, I have tried again to switch it on, and miraculously it did, like nothing happened at all. I took the chance to backup everything and then flashed the latest spl, ipl and radio and then flashed the HTCTOUCHP 1.2 rom. Everything was working fine for the last 15hours until a few minutes ago when my phone just froze, I have removed the battery and switch it on only to find out that i am stuck again at the hard reset screen unable to do anything at all.

Thanks guys for your help, I hope my device is not totally dead, although I am really tempted these last days since my device breakdown to move on and get an iphone 3G.

Step By Step Guide to get your MODEL ID and CID ID from a dead or alive device:

3.- Disable “USB CONNECTIONS” from Mobile Device Center

a) Open Microsoft Activesync

CardSecurityLevel shows "FF" which means CID locked. Your only hope is a shipped ROM with your device ID / CiD, or else asking Olipro to unbrick for you (not for free unfortunately).

I'm stuck. My elf was cid unlocked and i was running the diamond rom by gullum. Then I tried to flash my elf with a original rom. Bad idea. Now I'm stuck at the tricolor screen and can't flash other roms. I tried to follow the guide but I don't know how to install the USBAS drivers (I'm running vista). Tried mtty but it cannot connect. Is it possible that when I tried to flash my elf with an original rom the cid unlock got overwritten? I hope you guys can help me out.

I tried to update my Elfin (3452)
In two times works fine, but I don't save the original Rom
Looking in his forum I found a Brazilian Rom
I save update this rom in my Elfin, after this my cell appears only the Initial screen from de Operator service ( CLARO )
After this fact I remenber my Elfin is GSM and the rom that used is CDMA
I think the problem is this diferent ROM.
In the 3 colors mode I cannot update any rom because my CID is locked (FF)
I've got backup rom from another Elfin Friend with the same Operator (claro)
But again don't work
With the flash card upgrade don't work too.... I created the ELF0IMG.NBH in the flash card but when I start the Elfin in 3 color, no appears any option...
Someone can help me ?

No, your device's MODEL ID and CID are never altered. They're stored in an area of the memory (along with SIM unlock code, IMEI, serial number, etc) that cannot be overwritten with a regular way.

If it's bricked (i.e. the IPL and SPL have been overwritten by a bad ROM), then his backup is not going to work.

You need a shipped (official) ROM for your specific CID and Model ID. A backup ROM does not have the electronic signature to flash anything onto a bricked device.

My Elf, before, have an Original ROM(FRE, ORANGE). Last week, I've flashed an original ROM(WWE-2.20.456.1B), but it run only 1% then erro. Now, SPL: 2.28.0000 and it stop at tricolor. After i run MTTY and Reset device, its SPL still is 2.28.0000, while I used Snoopy Pro for many times but all the results have no ID Device and CID info.

Well I killed my Orange UK, HTC Touch.

Accidently over wrote the USPL with a standard one, and then the damn thing died boot loader only....so

i bit the bullet and called orange and they offered me 2 options... £70 and get a replacement...or £30 and sign up for orange care at £6 pcm for a min of 4months....now most can see the second option adds up to £54 and im covered against any further damage to the phone...

clearly i'll read the terms and conditions...ie im not covered if i flash again.

So im a lil nervous about flashing new firmware to the new one when it arrives tomorrow. Shame theres no way to get a full firmware from the thing thats flashable when the device is CID locked. :( hence my reluctance to do it again...

But the tip here is be open and honest with your provider...tell them you were upgrading the software, they;ll assume its a legit one and do the best they can to help you....especially if its a cute sounding girl :D

seems like u've flashed the Elf's USPL onto ur Elfin. download the Elfin_USPL and flash it in bootloader mode (directly run the romupdateutility in RUU folder after unzipping).

after hours of reading i think this might be my problem, did the unlock and got the =0 so it must be CID unlocked but then it would only show the o2 loader screen for 5 seconds and then shut off. i can get it into tri-color mode...shows

Doesn't turn on? Even in bootloader mode (reset it while holding down camera button)? If it's not turning on, your battery may be dead. Just let it charge on its own for 10 minutes, the hit the reset button at the bottom.

Another way is to take the battery out for 10 minutes, put it back in and recharge for a few minutes and press the reset.

You can revert to your original IPL/SPL, that's not a problem. I had a similar issue to what you described. I had to remove battery for a while.

i have the same problem :S i have a tmobile version, it shows up for 5 seconds and then it shut downs :S i tried all the solutions, mtty. it shows SPL 1.11.0000, but before it was 2.26.0000 HELP PLEASE

You can revert to your original IPL/SPL, that's not a problem. I had a similar issue to what you described. I had to remove battery for a while.

Change the ROM file (extension nbh is in the same folder as ROMUpdateUtility) to the one you want to flash (rename it to RUU_Signed if you are using the one from dsixda's sig), and when you have your phone in bootloader run the application (you have to have an unlocked CID for this to work, I think you said you had it?).


Anyways, my ELF is still not turning on after changing the battery, etc. :(

Zac, i had the same problem as you, operator logo for 5 seconds then went off. my spl was 1.11.000 :S i reflashed it to 2.28.0000 and it worked finally after 4 hours of working on it :D

ok so i understand the copying and pasting of files...i think but the one thing that keeps throwing me for a loop is i still dont know how to run the flash....after i copy over the different ROM and remove the old do i just run it like i did before? (click the start icon within the file and let it do its thing?) because before the phone had to be recognizable by the active sync before it would start....will it start without being actively connected?

Then run ROMUpdateUtility.exe. That program looks for an .NBH file in the RUU folder. So the ROM you want to use can be named my_rom.NBH or whatever. Just make sure it's the only NBH file in that folder. I just flash USPL 2.28 from htctouchp (see my signature) and then flash Blue Elves straight from the RUU folder (running RomUpdateUtility.exe) rather than all the other stuff they mention. Plus their USPL is probably old.

well what i ment by that was back when i got the phone it had a german ROM on it and i had to flash an english ROM on it before i could even use it. Luckly it was already SIM unlocked but instead of going through the process of learning how to CID unlock it (i wanted to use it right away) so i flashed Swiftblade's Blue Elfin ROM which had the a CID unlocker built in it so that it was bypassed. What that means is after flashing the Blue Elfin ROM the phone was still CID locked but had the new ROM on it....make sence?
Well with a ROM program set up like that, could i just flash that ROM back on it? meaning since the phone is still CID locked does it recognize that ROM as being the original? it was a great ROM...only reason why i was CID unlocking it (which got to this point in the first place) is i wanted to change the text keyboard because the windows mobile keyboard was way to small to text as much as i do.

I've an Elfin dead on the smart mobility screen. I try the guide but at point 6.g I can't find the " WINDOWS MOBILE-BASED DEVICE " on Snoopypro...

I know the Id : ELF010050 but not the CID... The device is Italian.

Other problem is that the bootlooader have IPL 1.17.0002 and SPL 1.17.0000 accidentaly flashed (this version of spl and ipl are for Elf).
I have to follow another street or is right to use this guide??

Hi Newbie question, I think I have bricked my Touch. Tri-colour screen IPL 2.20.0002, SPL 2.28.0000 no RUU just USB in bottom left corner of screen. Have tried hard reset and soft reset. Um... are you sure you have an HTC Touch GSM (Elf/Elfin) and not an HTC Touch CDMA (Vogue)? You should be able to see the bootloader, which is the tri-colour screen.

Have you try to reflash your device with any dumped or cooked rom from bootloader mode?. DONT TRY TO FLASH SHIPPED ROMS!!!! (If you did you screwed your device), at least you have your original rom.

I don't know but i think that your device it's still unlocked.

Try to flash any dumped rom, DON'T TRY SHIPPED ROMS. Put your device in bootloader mode, and then run your desired rom update.

As you say that you have an ELF (64/128) i sugest you to flash your device with the USPL for ELF (LINK (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=45469&d=1185750816)) first. If you have a success flash may be you will able to boot.

My elf is dead. after haveing som signal receiveng problem, I tryed to dissamble it, i TOOK IT TO MY FRIEND WHO FIXES CELL PHONES.he made som staff there, used Fan, and after that elf would not load. there was not even smatr mobility on a screen, just blans whit escreen.

now even this is gone, it has no reaction on power or restars buttons. I thought the battery was empty, sio i pluged it in a charger, but there is o signal that is is charged, only after few hours battery goes hot (so it should be charged)

well can you please tell if this can be possible. I thing that after using Fan-heater to clean all connections on motherboad. one of the memory modules on board was overheated an the boot data was deleated.

thats the reason it doens start.

so if I'm wright can enyone tell me how to make it work. if it is possible ofcourse.

Well, MTTY in this guide have 2 targets:

1.- You can check if your device is cid locked, as the guide sez.

Search at your own window the follow line:

g_cKeyCardSecurityLevel

Ok, you got it?? Well...

= FF Means that you have a CID LOCKED Device, you most find your original ROM to revive it. So keep reading step B)

= 00 Means that your device stay CID Unlocked yet, so you can try with almost any kind of rom, i suggest that you try DUMPED or COOKED roms first to revice your device.

2.- If your are running Snoopypro at the moment that you run the MTTY commands you can save the snoopypro log screen as the guide sez:

b) Look at your Snoopypro window and if everything comes fine, you will get a LOG window like this:

Hi people. Sorry for the long post, but I need to tell you in details in order to make sense. Well, in an unsucefull try to upgrade a device (from Russian WM 5.0 to English WM 6.0) I bricked it (for worst it's not mine :(). It happened when I tried to USPL. Now, it's freezed in tri-color bootloader, don't run the OS, don't run the splash or wellcomehead, in truth it don't run nothing at all. The only information that appears is:

No, no, I didn't use Elf USPL, I used GENE USPL, because the device is a Gene... Oh, god, ok, I confesse, it's not an Elf, it's a Gene, sorry, sorry, sorry for my invasion at your section. I promise I will never do this again, ok? :D

But the apps and procedures discribed in this tread may work for all devices, not just for elf, because there's no specific settings or values to input at the apps, right? Snoopypro works for all USB devices, even pendrives ("mass storage devices"), why did it work ONLY for Elf and not for Gene? Mtty.exe works even in COM ports, does the Elf have COM ports? :)

I just remembered that the password asked in mtty probably is for Elf... Does anyone knows the password for Gene? Easy, no angry, please.

Later I found out the Device ID & CID ID using the instructions on page 1 of this thread (very useful indeed).

Then I flashed 6.1 Touch Surface Rom again. It was successfully completed but again same problem, when I turn on the screen turns off after 'smart mobility'

Hi Guys, after two days reading lines and lines in xda-dev and testing many softs (mtty, snoopypro) and many ROMs I cannot umbrick my elfin: it remains in the red-green-blue boot menu (without showing RUU text).

It is obviously CID LOCKED and the only information I have is:

Any way to umblock CID from here (obviously it doesn´t connect to activesync)?

I dumped everything from my phone to my pc.

Soo I did load the new 6.1 windows and when i was on the bootloader it stoped at 3% and since then it doesnt boot anymore.

I did usb sniffing, mtty, i tryed the special rom, an original rom in french, and another 1000 stuff.

I would really appreciate some help. And i will reward who can help me.

A user called 911sniper yesterday posted a shipped ROM for the French Rogers phone (ELF010150, ROGER202)... Check Cyzeek's shipped ROMs thread and download it.. it's near the last page. This is the shipped ROM, NOT the dumped one.

Even though it's the wrong CID compared to yours, use the Elf Goldcard Wiki to unbrick it... only the Model ID has to be the same in this case (ELF010150). Good luck.

There are now two ways to ways to unbrick a truly bricked device:

HTC's test-only ROM with wildcard CID/Model ID (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446242) - most effective, it works for almost all Elfs/Elfins
Gold Card method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=437996&highlight=elf0diag.nbh) - only covers certain Elfs/Elfins, but use if the test-only ROM doesn't work.

Wow!! Funny to see this happened to you too... It makes me feel not so bad for having had the same problem... LOL!!!

Ok bro... Relax... I was really frustated when exactly the same thing happened to me... But, this forum is AWESOME and I've been learning a lot about upgrading and so will you...
Here are some options that will work for sure.
The SPL changed because you tried to flash a ROM with original SPL and that is what screwed your device... I tried many things as you did, but nothing worked...
Solutions I found:
1) Flash the original ROM (shiped ROM) of your device.
2) If you can't find it or nothing else works, send it to HTC technical assistance. Of course you broke the warranty agreement, but if you're luck as I am or the technicians nice as they were here in Brazil, they will update the ROM without trying to find out what happend, wihich would be more hard-working then just updating it. I just told them that it wasn't working as it should. I sent the device on Monday morning last week and got it back on Friday same week... And determined as I am, I succeeded flashing the new ROM, which works 10000 times better... And this happened one week after a genius created the first Elfin HARD SPL... LOL... Since I couldn't find my device shipped ROM anywhere, this was the quickest solution I found... Although I didn't know what they would do to it...

So good luck and I hope you have your device way better then it were when you bought in the end...

Yes, you can unbrick it. 911sniper posted a French Rogers (ELF010150, ROGER202) shipped ROM a couple of days ago. Download it and then follow the Elf Gold Card Wiki to unbrick. Even though the CIDs are different from the English Rogers, the Gold Card will work.

This is the procedure I followed. Not every step may be necessary. Not sure which step revived my fully dead ELF.

1. removed the battery and left the device alone for a few hours - no luck
2. charged the battery using a wall charger - no luck
3. removed sd card and sim card and tried the alternative reset at this link http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Elf_Resets using a wall charger. device booted into tricolor mode.
4. did the same alternative reset with a usb charger. once the device was in tricolor mode, flashed a cooked rom.

now the device is back to normal.

guess the uspl wasnt messed up by the shipped rom which i tried to flash the device with.

Hey everyone i'm having trouble with mtty.exe. When i try and use it by changing the port to usb then flow controls to rts/cts, it says "usb port can not open"

This is after i disabled usb connections in windows device center, and tried to use mtty on the bootloader screen

After that my Elfin was dead but i managed to flash the unbricker rom from microSD. But I still cant establish an USB Connection and the phone doesn't charge, even when i plug in the normale cable....

i need your cooperation to try to unbrick my Elf if it's possible...

Two days ago, i tried to flash my device but unfortunately the .nbh file was wrong and my Elf is dead now, it wont boot !!

If i do an hard-reset, it ask me to confirm the operation but then fails the format command and stucks with the operator logo.
If i power on it, nothing happens... just black screen.
If i power on it holding the camera button, it load the tricolor boot-loader but, i'm only able to upgrade or downgrade the IPL & SPL with the RUU update utility.
No ROMs work also the original one !!
I always got "Error [322] Invalid Command" during the flash phase.

I already read all the threads on how-to recover a dead Elf with no success !!

My wish now is to buy the new HTC Touch HD ;) but i think that first is better to try all to have back my great Elf, so i hope someone of you can suggest me what to do or if my Elf is definitely dead.

I Have an Elf completelly black. NO HARD RESET. No Triple color. No USB Connection.
This happens after flashing Rom with Onix lt version, but i didn´t notice this Elf was CID and Sim locked. After first restart it wents complettelly black. HAVE I GOT ANY SOLUTION?

My ELF P3450 is showing always the tricolor screen, IPL 1.11.0002, SPL 2.26.0000. I am unable to flash any ROM, cooked or original. I am able to connect it with usb, but there is no activesync connction possible. I had tried all ways to re-flash it, but after 1-3% I got an error.
Back last week I was able to flash all ROMS with this IPL, SPL. But after trying to flash an original WWE Rom yesterday, I got this stop at 3% error.
I think it is absolutly dead now, I see no way to recover it. Any ideas?

I always got "Error [322] Invalid Command" during the flash phase.

I already read all the threads on how-to recover a dead Elf with no success !!

My wish now is to buy the new HTC Touch HD ;) but i think that first is better to try all to have back my great Elf, so i hope someone of you can suggest me what to do or if my Elf is definitely dead.

I have already tried shipped ROMs matching with my CID and DID from SD card, with no success !!

Hi guys,
i need your cooperation to try to unbrick my Elf if it's possible...

Two days ago, i tried to flash my device but unfortunately the .nbh file was wrong and my Elf is dead now, it wont boot !!

If i do an hard-reset, it ask me to confirm the operation but then fails the format command and stucks with the operator logo.
If i power on it, nothing happens... just black screen.
If i power on it holding the camera button, it load the tricolor boot-loader but, i'm only able to upgrade or downgrade the IPL & SPL with the RUU update utility.
No ROMs work also the original one !!

I have an HTC Elfin which is blocked on tricolor screen...
I tried a lot of things but nothing has worked, and upgrade with SD Card doesn't work(searching for SD data and then "invalid certificate")
