NoThrills ROM releases are 'pure' ROMs. They offer a ROM that is exactly like HTC would release for your device, but with all the internal software updated to their latest versions.

Things the NoThrills ROMs do include:

The very latest CE OS build
The newest default software applications
The ROM is available in 6 languages


Things the NoThrills ROMs do not include:

'Fixes' (not everyone likes the same 'fixes')
Registry tweaks (you can do this yourself)
Custom or additional applications (I said No Thrills, didn't I?)

i keep getting the same error when unzipping the RUU_signed.nbh:confused:

Workaround for now:

Let it extract but don't give "OK" when you get the errormessage meanwhile look for file RUU_signed.nbh. (Search with file explorer)

When you find it copy the whole directory to another place and voilà you have your installfiles I just installed lets see how it works.

When you don't have WINZIp 11 or higher ;-)

When I push the Green and Red button, nothing appears on the screen, so the main function of my telephone (make calls) is not working.
HTC Dialer is not installed. That should be in the rom. otherwise you can't make a call with your phone.

other things:
quickmenu will not run properly. doesnt' link to the 'instellingen' (for the english "settings")
schap's advanced config is in francais. not english or dutch.
devicelock: easylock not working.

for the rest, rather stable. now I want to check my battery lifetime. what's a good app for that?

i've got another thing that does'nt work:

when I try to set up my Hotmail account, after the e-mail adress and the password I click "volgende". But it never goes to a "volgende".
it goes back to the account selector, and I can start all over again without any result

The strange thing is that my "chello" account worked right away without any problems.

In there there's also a tool to convert the radio .nb to a .nbh again so you can flash it.

Found a nice undocumented feature of this ROM!

For a long time it was not possible to connect to our wireless network with the required settings (WPA2 / AES). We have tried several ROM's and updates, but with this ROM it works!!! We had HTC as well as Cisco looking into the problem but without result.

If you are experiencing problems with Cisco WISM's and 1131AG acces points, this ROM will solve them (..and may create another problems :) )

You can't create a backup of your ROM. But you can dump it. There are a few dumps already here so use the search to see if yours hasn't been dumped already.

Try KaiserTweak or Schaps Advanced Config. You can set some registry settings concerning the slide out keyboard.

You can't flash your TC with a Kaiser ROM. I suggest you read some more about flashing your device before you just download one and get stuck in that nice three color screen. Concerning those HTC apps you can get them from this forum and even install them separately.

Did you do a hardreset after flashing?
Flash ROM... startup mob, let config it.
Power OFF / ON.
Do a hardreset, let config it.

No problems overhere GPS is very fast!!!

Flashed this rom over to original orange wm6 in my TyTN II. Everything works perfect. Fast and stable. Battery drain with default settings seems better to me than original shipted rom. And gsm radio also excellent. Great work from Nothrills. Only one dissapointent: tcpmp player do not work. And is a pity because with the flv plugin we could play .flv files from YouTube.
Anybody has a solution for the tcpmp player?

This might also be caused by the radio ROM you're using...
No problem with the camera what so ever with the build in radio for me.

NP mate ;) read that Dutty is working on some kind of Hybrid ROM. That means Build 19202 and his older Beta wich can be used with NIKI's ROM.
But after reading some I think it even might be that it will be 19209 ;)

Hi Joda,

ActiveSync in combination with Exchange 2007 SP1 and UMTS/HSDPA is working great overhere. I'm Using the dedicated Vodafone APN to get the e-mails delivered to my Kaiser.

I must say that yesterday I got an error code which wasn't in the MS ActiveSync error code list but after leaving it on my screen for a while the connection was established again.

So for my part, I can confirm that ActiveSync is pulling the e-mails from my mailserver with this V3 version of NoThrills WM 6.1.

Hey nice ROM man, I for one like chat-style sms very much. But I don't seem te be able to get gmail to work. I did manually set-up my account (correctly for as far as I can tell), but when importing my mail it says 'fout bij het sychroniseren' and 'kan geen verbinding maken', which means as much as 'error in syncing' and 'can't connect to server' (I don't which of you are dutch, presumebly all). Is this something that can happen with installing apps (do I need to make a hard reset) or could this ROM be causing it? Cheers

PS. my start menu is still green is this intentional? anyway I don't really mind.

When the phone is in standby mode the phone doesnt play any sound
only when ya push the powerbutton.

the original rom does play the sound in standby mode...

hello guys

installed the new rom yesterday. the old original version of my unbranded HTC TytnII worked fine with windows live and the sync of my Hotmail (automatically called 'Windows live' by the device.)

now with this rom and still in combination with my vodafone SIM, It calls itselfs 'hotmail' and don't sync anymore, only when i'm on wifi.

met mijn oude rom tjekte ik overal mijn hotmail, maar met die nieuwe rom loopt die hele live messenger in de soep. althans, wanneer ik op de vodafone data wil, via wifi gaat het wel.\

Iemand een idee/oplossing?

Reflash the ROM
Use only the Radio that comes with ROM

Don't install any fixes ot something like that...
Do a hardreset after the install is running completed...
Do a power off/on ... after that you can install your own stuff

You are correct, you can only use one radio at the moment with this ROM. Try the tip from the previous post...

Did you Hard SPL your device?
Put your device into the three color screen and reflash your device with an official ROM. Read the WiKi on flashing before doing so.

However, I have the same issue as Caipirinhia, I can only synchronize my live email when I am connected to an WIFI spot. When I use my Vodafone GPRS then I cannot connect.

I succeeded in fixing my email problem. After changing my incoming mail server to imap and performing sereral several other tips and tricks (which I later changed back) I realized that I had a different network connection set in my account than my kaiser used to automatically connect programs to the internet. I dont know if this is the same thing thats messing with the hotmail accounts, but ist worth a shot. Anyway, go to settings -> connections -> connections -> advanced -> select networks, for me it says vodafone gprs here (if it says different change it to that). When I made a new account it automatically got the gmail settings, so in the menu where the outgoing server is set you can go to advanced settings(geavanceerde serverinstellingen) and change where it says "the internet" to vodafone GPRS(different if it said so in "select networks" menu) and make shure both of the boxes are ticked. I would expect a similar menu for the hotmail, hope it works. Cheers

Edit: When I tried this I was using dutty's ROM (I figured this was a windows problem), in this ROM however it seems that something is missing.

Nothrills how is that new ROM coming along? Would you mind looking into this, I think it has something to do with this ROM, cheers

Thanks for your reply 12aon,

However in my case (don't know if it is the same problem for Caipirinhia) this settings was already set correctly. It might be caused by the fact that the email program seems different. As mentioned by Caipirinhia before, the original ROM shows as soon as you created the email settings that it is an 'Live' account while this new ROM shows that it is an 'hotmail' account. I don't care how it is called ofcourse but it is just something I noticed that was different.

On live mail you can't make any settings, it just asks you for your live email address and password and that is it. So I can't try anything out on that side.

Final thing I want to mention (which again proves that it has to be caused by a wrong hotmail/live mail application) My device also connects to exchange and this email works fine (also via GPRS) and it is shown in the same 'messaging' program of windows mobile.

Again I like this ROM very much and I don't think I would go back just for this but if someone has a standalone application which would fix this or could repair the ROM I would be very thankfull.

Oh one last question, does anyone know where you can get more ROMS (e.g. an original one) just in case I get tired of having to fetch my email via wifi or an internet browser (webmail)?

Well I installed the UK version today, I didn't think that it would solve it however I wanted english anyway.

The problem remains, I noticed that I can now also sync will the device is connected via active sync but that might have worked under the dutch version as well (never tried that before).

If I read through the messages then it seems like that it is caused by a combination of the new ROM and vodafone? anyway, hopefully someone can help us....

Great ROM love it!!

But i found a tiny litle bug...
When you go to your mail and select one, its not opening the mail but you go back to the homescreen...

( little dutch, cant explain it in English )

Dus ff in het NL, wanneer je naar je mail functie gaat en een overzicht krijg bv van je pop3 mail.
Kan je niet een email bericht openen, ik ga dan eerst terug naar het hoofdscherm.

Settings are standard live.vodafone.com change them to office.vodafone.nl or wme.vodafone.nl and it works perfect...

I have seen this problem now already on multiple other ROMS as well. Although it works on some of them. The problem is not that the vodafone GPRS does not work however, because the connection works fine if you use internet explorer...

Anyone any other idea?

Do a search overhere.... and on your mob.

Thanks for your reply, I doubt however that it has something to do with the proxy server... As far as I know you cannot configure anything on the live mail part and internet itself works fine... (internet explorer).

However, I've seen some forums created at december 2007 were people mentioned that vodafone is having issues with live messenger so... Even if this is the case it is still weird that some ROMS work fine (but I had other issues with these were my hardware buttons didn't function and that is even worse then this problem :-)) also the original worked fine... I think I have to use the webmail for now then....

If someone ever finds a solution on this however please post it?

ah by the way,

can it has anything to do with the radio which is used in the ROM? If so, is there a possibility to see which radio is used inside a rom (e.g system info) and can you also download and install seperate radios? Then I can try the original or a rom that works and try to install the radio used on that ROM on a ROM that I want to use.

If you scroll down you can download different versions, since I like the cube but don't see the added value I downloaded the medium rom version. I can download live mail (still called hotmail) on this rom. It uses the same radio as roms that do not work for me (1.64.08.21) so I don't think the radio is the issue.

By the way, this is an english version.

Anyway, I can now definately confirm that this issue is caused by Vodafone, after searching on internet I read a message saying that you should disable the proxy of the GPRS settings (so uncheck the parameter saying to use a proxy. The proxy that was used on my mobile was 192.168.251.150. After disabeling this setting I could retrieve my email again (still called hotmail instead of live mail).

However, I can imagine that this might cause other issues. I can still connect to the internet via a web browser as well so... Maybe someone with a working vodafone kaiser mobile (so who can sync live mail without disabeling the proxy) can look what settings he has?

For me the problem is solved for now, as long as I do not experience any other issues because of this change...

Good that it works now for you.. i say it before about the proxy...

Try playing with 3g option on and off... yes there is still a lot work to do before UMTS is working like it shout be.

Msn connect werkt meestal alleen met 3g aan. Bij alleen gprs connect wil Msn niet werken in de meeste gevallen, terwijl icq en googletalk geen problemen geven. Probeer dat eens uit misschien dat je een setting vindt die goed werkt in alle gevallen. Succes!

I will also take a look at the 3g settings, it is fine for now for me but somehow it should work with the proxy enabled.

I'll keep you updated but I am very happy to be able to use all functions of my pda again :P

Try other boudrate and run QuickGPS tool (i have set my to 9600)

Did you do a hardreset after flashing... no... try that...
Config country and provider after that power off and on... install your stuff.

After trying all new ROMs... i'm back home again.. only with new radiorom.

This version is still the fastest out there... and have all what i need...

The only real fix is the 'new' radiorom.. it give me allmost all (95%) time 3g connect.

The 3.51 base is so very slow... so back to 3.14.

Don't use PagePool Patcher v1.4, it creates a rom that won't boot past the splash screen.
I think it has something to do with the computer that has a dutch OS.

Alleen ondervind ik veel problemen met de dekking van het netwerk:

- Vaak heb ik gewoon geen ontvangst en als er ontvangst is is het slechts 1 streepje
- Vaak heb ik ook geen 3G verbinding
- Tijdens een telefoongesprek valt de verbinding ook regelmatig weg.

Komen deze problemen bekend voor?

Met deze heb ik daar geen problemen mee!

There is NOT going to be a new version of this. Why do you people do this? post a request of a dead ROM , just for the heck of it? There are many NEW ROMS out there to chose from with new firmware to speed up your devices, yet you elect to revive a thread about a ROM that uses old firmware? That shows you are either lazy or do not want or like to read!

With all due respect to NoThrills... I think he went on cooking ROMs for other devices... like the Touch Pro or the Raphael perhaps....
