I just found another radio 1.64.08.21 in Kaiser forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=349375
Is it newer or older then 1.58.21.23 and 1.58.25.14?
It looks the best radio on Kaiser? Anyone has this for Polaris?
Update:
I flashed last 2radios in the 1st post, will test the bettery life,GPS and other performance in next few days.
Update2:
Installed the 1.64.08.21, the GPS fixs in TomTom is much faster then any other radios i used.

It is a little better but still cannot connect well with just the edge network. Do you think the 1.64 radio will be better for connection?
anyone else having problems connecting under a edge network? It takes a long time to find the provider and also a long time to connect even though the phone has 3 or 4 bars.

I guess it's not your ROM/Firmware which prevented you but the fact that you had to use the HardSPL to be able to flash bepe's ROM.
The OS-ROM has nothing to do with a Radio flash.

I always do a lot of research before I flash anything to my phone - just to be on the safe side.
A google search of the Radio rom version lead me to the Kaiser thread that lists all the kaiser radios and their pros and cons - including limitations.

Only with ROM file "RUU_Polaris_HTC_WWE_1.25.405.1_radio_sign_25.65.30 .04_1.58.21.23_Ship" it is possible to start the flash to 1%, but with this, i get an "Wrong Vendor ID" Error. I think the only way to flash could be the original full (Radio,Prot,OS) ger ROM, but it doesn't exist. Damn, i think i have to RMA it and wait 2 month for repair...F***. It likely wipes the rom and bootloader together making impossible to access the device for a reflash...that is, unless you have the engineering tools that HTC uses to directly access and interface with a ROM.

I'm using the clean Butterfly ROM WM6.0 (Panosha) with radio ROM 1.64.08.21. Both ROM's were simply flashed off the micro-card.
I've tried two variations of the WM6.1 ROM's (Widow and PDAVIET). Reverted to WM6.0 because I found WM6.1 memory-leaky and cranky with BT. I can find no appreciable difference in speed/response between WM6.0 and WM6.1, but radio 1.64.08.21 (Polaris version, not Kaiser) is faster at GPS cold start.
I know that radio 1.64.08.21 is only supposed to work with WM6.1 but I have not found that to be so (HardSPL 1st,of course).
The current combo works very responsively indeed ... the device is excellent for my purposes.

Hello :
Polaris Radio 1.64.08.21 is fantastic !!
I have the dual SIM system SIMORE black 1 on my polaris:

SIM 2 : 3G
ok on edge network, but when i permute to the 3G SIM, i have No service after 5 seconds. Same problem with original ROm 1.58.21.23 and 1.70 Olinex . I think it was a SIMORE problem, but after upgrade to 1.64.08.21 rom radio, it works perfectly !

Well, I just flashed and have been testing this new radio. It still works well on HSPDA and 3G, like the others but still cannot get it connected on the Edge network. It seems to be a little faster than the 1.58 radio when in HSPDA. Any suggestions on the edge network. I tried with the AT&T proxy but that did not work. What is your problem on the Edge network ? disconnect, No service .. ?
You see the E near the reception bars ?
When I get into a non 3G or HSPDA area, the E is showing and even if I have 3 or 4 bars, I cannot connect or it takes a long time. It also takes a long time to find the service provider. It shows AT&T and E with 3 or 4 bars and it does not connect or it is real slow. I cannot make calls or receive until I get into a 3G or HSPDA zone.
When I switch the sim into my tilt, it works with edge, 3G, and HSPDA with no problems. My tilt moves rear fast on edge and when it hits the 3G and HSPDA it is lightening. The Polaris is much slower.

Had to ask ..
I have not the Polaris.. but lurking around in here bc I may get one.
I have a Kaiser today.
I always flash my kaiser using a Micro SD card.
Roms, Radios and splashes.
Never fails ... no problem at all.. faster.
Isnt that working on a Polaris to?
i rename the file to kaisimg.nbh .. dont know what the polaris name should be. polaimg.nbh ??
Then put the file on a newly FAT32 formated msd and push Power+CAM while holding Pinreset..
still holding to it wants the power to be pressed. then pinreset when it says done.
Should maybe solve the stuck at boot screen ..
Best regards.. Carlis

Just this little feedback about the 1.64.08.21 Radio ROM on my Polaris (ROM Bepe 0.66 Opera)
Before the flash (I was in 1.58.25.14 (http://depositfiles.com/files/4304688)), I never had success to be in HSDPA from my home. Now, with the 1.64.08.21, I get each time a HSDPA connection !
It seem also that my Bluetooth quality is better (I use a Samsung WEP200 Bluetooth headset).
No battery drain at the moment
Enjoy it !

I flashed this radio and had a situation within minutes where my phone would show an incoming call but after picking up I am unable to hear anything. I tried making calls and got the same problem - dialing and connected but nothing from the speakers.

It does definitely not, if you use CustomRUU from this thread:

to flash the Radio ROM.
Just replace the exe within the Radio Folder and flash with

Why not check this out be going manually in your Bootloader? ;)
Just press camera button, hold it and press the soft reset with
your stylus. You will enter 4color Bootloader which should show
Olinex 2.20 when HardSPL is installed. Otherwise it would show
something like SPL1.25.00 (don't know exactly). In this case you'd
have to HardSPL again.

I definitely had some in the last days. Running this radio on O2 Germany.
I just asked a friend of mine running his Orbit 2 with stock radio also

He said his brother wanted to call him a few days ago at least 5 times
within a day and always got "the number is not available at the moment"
while my friend confirmed that he had all the time full radio reception
and was able to call out without problems. This is very annoying. I had

problem persist on the Polaris

Hi, this could also be an O2-issue: I had O2 for four years, them being the only ones to offer homezones, and I had such problems with normal Nokias as well. I heard in some cases, changing the sim-card would have helped, but you have to be lucky not having to pay for a new one... They wanted me to pay for, so I changed to T-Mobile :p
Olioaglio
17th April 2008, 12:58 PM
Thanks for your reply. I wouldn't confirm that the missed calls bug
is an O2 only issue. See THIS (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=374947) thread. There are users like
the one on Fido, Totonto who also suffers this issue.
I also heard the one about the SIM card change and so some time ago
I contacted O2 and told them about the problem and the agreed to change
the SIM card(s) (without charge :D ) but unfortunately the problems persist,
also with the new SIM. So what?!
Never had such a problem on any standalone mobile phones (had some Nokias, Siemens, Sony Ericsson).
And I am with O2 all that time (since 1998). The first time I noticed this was my first HTC device (Hermes aka TyTN).

Search for Murata Radio. I assume it will most likely solve
your problem.

I'm using my Orbit 2 in the US on ATT and can't seem to get full 3G. I can get HSDPA, but not UMTS.
I'm using 1.58.25.14 radio which is original and Bepe's .65 WWE Premium.
Is anyone else in the US having this problem?
Will it change by upgrading my radio to 1.64.08.21???
Thanks

Hello
Can anyone tell me if a radio update will cause a hard reset ?(loose all data)
If so, i seem to remember there was a tool that made it possible not to loose the information after a rom or a bootscreen update.
cand you help me with a link or something.

is that already in all flash packages now?

Unfortunatelly not!
Some radio-rom and splash screen packages are NOT with Custom RUU, if you use these, your pda will HR after flash.
The best thing you can do is to download and use the custom RUU if you flash radio-rom or splash screen, not the ruu in the package!

I guess this Polaris is not optimized with the AT&T applications. I have been using media net without the proxy.
Any suggestions, anyone?
- Got same problem.... My O2 was working perfect and I didn't change anything. Suddenly EDGE stopped to work. My operatoror - MEGAFON, Location - St-Petersburg. If I change sim-card to MTS operator that can provide GPRS in my area, - everything is working OK. Don't know what to do... HELP PLEASE!!!! (flashing some radios - no results)

- Confirm, having same problem with my O2, megafon, St-Petersburg, Russia. Any help to solve this???

Did it several times - no result.... Problem that it occures suddenely, - i didn't do any flashing rom or radio.... So when I face it, the very time I tried to flash radio to Murata but without sucsess. I suspect that it's a hardware problem, but why MTS still work on it???? Megafon told there were no changes in the net during last period...

I upgraded to radio 1.64.08.21 a month ago. Everything works fine for a month, till friday. Saturday my phone was off and I used gps for 40 min. Sunday start problems: I can use phone only in gsm band, in this way I can connect in edge or gprs a make calls, otherwise not call are allowed (two bips and the call is terminated) and no data connection! I have a dualsim adapeter, but with another sim card same problem! I try murata rom but no luck. Same issue! One more thing: saturday my battery was drained to zero, if it means something!

No, with the original shipped radio the only problem was the dual sim adapter switching from a sim to another after the first time doesn't work. To switching again I have to do a soft reset. Same thing with radio 1.64.08.21. The strange is that now switching works well but no data or calls in 3G-umts!

Hi All,
I seem to be having a GPS problem with the "WM6.1 WWE 1.52.7 OS 5.2.19400 ( Build 19400) Light V1.00 UC True Page Pool 20MB" rom.
Using TomTom it picks up the GPS on Port 4 but does not find any satalites, I have also tried GPSTest.cab and it does not find a device.
My radio was originally on Polaris Radio 1.58.25.14 with the O2 Rom and it worked a treat yet flashing to this new rom using any of the radios below still cant seem to get GPS
Polaris Radio 1.58.21.23
Polaris Radio 1.58.25.14
Polaris Radio 1.58.26.20
Polaris Radio 1.64.06.04
Polaris Radio 1.64.08.21
I found a cab called "enable GPS.cab" but that didnt work either and I seem to get the best GSM/3G signal from Radio 1.58.21.23. Is any one else having similar problems and can provide a fix I would appreciate it a lot.
PS how do you enable the original cube on that rom as I am currtyly using the Ftouchflo software.
Many Thanks

Hello :
Polaris Radio 1.64.08.21 is fantastic !!
I have the dual SIM system SIMORE black 1 on my polaris:
SIM 1 : EDGE
SIM 2 : 3G
ok on edge network, but when i permute to the 3G SIM, i have No service after 5 seconds. Same problem with original ROm 1.58.21.23 and 1.70 Olinex . I think it was a SIMORE problem, but after upgrade to 1.64.08.21 rom radio, it works perfectly !
And i think my GPS reception is best with this ROM.
Thanks for the link
Same config is a nightmare with me !
I use a dual sim Simore Blck 1 with SFR & Bouygues
No Service with SFR and a really low level with BT.
I don't understand !
Have you test 1.65 ?

FWIW . . . 1.64.08.21 just didn't want to play nice on my Cruise. Dropped or unconnected calls abounded. Tried with bebe 0.67 and PDAVIET v18 -- no luck. Fell back to using Murata rado and all is well. I seem to recall reading something about ReV A devices having some slight changes in radio electronics. I have a Rev A (said so on the box) and wonder if that's the case. Any way, phone works great. Guess I'll wait awhile before tackling another new radio.

I recently flashed the 1.64.08.21 Radio and it failed at 99%, but recovery mode fixed it up. My wifi reception is a bit better now :) BUT when I press the power button to bring the phone out of standby, I see my Today screen (as normal), and it shows that I have phone reception, but after a few seconds it says Searching .... and then it will say No Service. After a minute or so, it will pick up phone reception again.
It doesn't happen everytime, but it seems to be happening more now that I have a new radio rom. Should I go back to 1.58 if it is more stable?
Anyone else had a similar problem? I'm in Australia on the Optus network.
UPDATE: Whenever I turn on my wifi, my Polaris loses GSM reception, and then regains it after a few minutes. This is not normal behviour. I'm going to downgrade to 1.58 unless convinced otherwise.

Hi all
I've updated my Polaris from stock to 1.64.08.21.
The flashing finished successfully on the second run. On the first, it timed out at 99%.
On the first impressions, BT works much faster for my ear peace (Sony Ericson HBH-608) - calls handover between phone and ear peace works flawlessly.
The problem is the GSM reception. It's really crappy. Never got more than 3/4 on the reception.
If I get inside a building, most of the times I get no reception. Gonna revert to something earlier to see it I can stabilize this.
I'm using ukD Diamond R4.
My carrier is Vodafone Portugal.

Well, I just thought I'd put my two cents in. I live on the East Coast USA, and I've tried the .23 Rom, the Murata .14 Rom, and the .21 Rom, and by far and away the .21 seems to offer me both the best performance and the best battery life. I see some people who really like the Murata one, but my 3G speeds were really low using that one for some reason.
I haven't had any issues with the radio, really. Using Udk's Diamond v4. Just thought I'd share.

I have used the .21 murata too and like halorin i noticed a very slow data speed, i then flashed the 1.58.26.20 radio and my data speed is much better, the radio has a cristal clear voice sound when make calls and my gps fix isnt faster but the signal strength is very strong compare to the another radios i tested. With TT7 i get 8 sat fix strigth a way and 3-4 of them are almost full signal, and this test is done on the same spot with all radios. This .26.20 works perfect with the WM 6 rom 1.28.457 and now with PhamQuang V26 rom. When i left the phone on when i got to sleep the battery gets down by 3-4% under night which is very good, i think because i only have 1 bar signal strength.
But it seems that some roms fits better with some radios and vice versa. I made a test at my job about the data speed (used Cruise as modem with my laptop). Firts i test with the 1.28.457 rom and 1.58.26 radio i got about 400-440 kbit/sec. Then i flash the PhamQuang V25 Rom and my speed was 500-590 kbit/sec

I am using the Orbit II version of the Polaris in the Northern Virginia area of the US and have had a really tough time with getting and maintaining a good signal with all but the Radio_1.58.25.14_M.nbh ROM (T-Mobile network). I installed it with the Polaris_CustomRUU.exe utility. I believe all the Radio builds available on this forum are good loads and there is not a single "best" load. Radio propagation is greatly dependent on terrain (ground plain, obstacles), weather, frequency used, etc... The best load, it seems, is the one that doesn't save you the most battery life, but the one that actually gives you the best communications. So, try all of the ROMs on your device until you find one that works. If you want more battery life, buy another battery ;)
p.s. I have tried ALL of the radio ROMs available for the Polaris. GPS acquisition times are quite fast using GarminXT and TomTom6 and 7. still waiting to test WLAN and Edge data speeds (3G unavaible in current location).

Now, I also flash in Orbit murat 25.14 Radio ROM instead 21.23 Murata ROM.

testing still progress.............

I'm trying to update my Polaris (Orbit2) to Polaris_Radio_1.64.08.21 but I keep getting an error message : "ERROR[260] CONNECTION..."
I've had a search around but not found anything helpful. I tried alternating the USB Connections setting in ActiveSync, but that still no joy.
This happens in WinXP and in Vista.
Any Ideas?

OK, so I rebooted everything, took out the SDHC Card and ran RUU a few more times and had to re-plug the USB Cable 3 times and when it failed to apply the update successfully, do a recovery and then re-apply the update again. All handled by RUU.
It all seems a bit flakier than I remember from my onl XDA 2i or Orbit...
But its done now.

Hi.
I come from Trinity device and forum and now I got a Touch Cruise for a few days ago.
Looking for Radio versions and ROM's, notice that my Cruise comes with an official Radio version not listed here.
ROM 1.40.410.1 PTG
Radio 1.58.25.21
I got no bluetooth problems, good reception, no weird sounds, everything works fine.
If somebody could explain step by step the proccess, I'll very happy to dump my radio and ROM and contribute to the forum. I know there is a thread about dump ROM's, but I don't understand very well how to do it, and don't know about the Radio.
Thanks

I'm not sure if this is my headset or just bad bluetooth. Anyway, I think I might be experiencing bad bluetooth on my device. Which what i a have read isnt anything new. The HTC patches didnt do anything to fix it, so I deleted them.
Question is, flashing a new radio, doesnt that also change the bluetooth? Or is that something entirely different?

Serch for 1.58.25.14 Murata radio rom and flash it. Thze best radio. If that wont solve the issues , then u have serious problem and u will have to send the pda to the service for repairment. good luck

1.64.08.21 doesn't work well in India or Asia.
Can anyone recommend a version which works best in this part of the world?
Doesn't seem to work for me either in France, although I've seen other French users with this radio.
I'll just have to read through the other umpteen pages in this post to see if I can see anything useful. :)

Hello everyone. I wanted to post my findings and hopefully help anyone who is having troubles. If you are thinking about flashing your radio ROM, hopefully you read this first.
First off, I'm a complete noob to flashing my WM device. I've flashed some older devices, nokias and such, but those processes are very different from this.
My phone's version info BEFORE any flashing:
ROM version: 1.28.405.3 WWE
ROM date: 03/05/08
Radio version: 1.58.25.14
Protocol Version: 25.69.30.05H
I decided to go with udK Diamond R8 from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393429
I flashed this and everything worked great. I then started reading this thread and decided to try a newer radio ROM to see if it would improve my GPS connection time and possibly my GSM signal strength. I was merely looking for slight improvement on something that already worked.
This is the order in which I tried the radio ROMs:
1.64.08.21
1.64.06.04
1.58.26.20
and then out of desperation I tried flashing back to my original version:
1.58.25.14
(these were all from the links provided in the first post in this thread)
i got NO GSM SIGNAL from any of the first three ROMs. When i flashed the version with the same number i originally had, i got 1 bar of T-Mobile service, and 1 bar of AT&T service each for about 1 second over about 20 minutes of being OUTSIDE in an area where I would normally have full service...
I then tried the Murata 1.58.25.14 and got no reception at all.
http://www.4shared.com/file/46948092...a_1582123.html
And finally, with fingers crossed, tried Murata 1.58.25.14. http://www.4shared.com/file/54732373...a_1582514.html
This one finally worked. As of right now, I finally have (as far as I can tell) about the same signal as before and everything seems to be working fine again.
Long story short, if your phone works fine after upgrading to a new OS ROM, you may want to leave it alone.
Edit: Just to clarify... Each time I tried a new roms, i switched to the bootloader and flashed from there. It was successful every time, but when the phone started back up, I had no signal. Hope this helps someone!

Coolbtk, if you are in the USA like me .14 is the only one that will work. All the rest are crap, T-mobile just bought SunCom which is what i have right now, we have no 3g no HDPSJKDJFKJDK lol, so my advice is to flash back to the orginal rom that has .14 because things are only going to get really bad. You will have crap for signal and sometimes no service and we all know that is loads of fun!

flashed radio 1.64.08.21 yesterday, read that it gets a gps fix for tt faster than others but it takes about an hour to get a signal for the phone (t-mob uk) and even then it's extremely weak. tried changing the order of providers.
before i flash a different one does anyone have/know why it does this and how to fix it?
cheers
