problem upgrading kjam to wm6

hello all and thanks for the help
i have a g3 kjam after flowing the 3 steps

1.installing the rom that downgrade the ipl to 1.00
2.cid unlock
3.installing the rom that changes ipl/spl tp 3.08

any rom that i try to install finshes 100% succsesful
but still boot a wm5 rom with a new icon when starts

any help will be great

I thought you need a solid 2.xx rom to flash a new rom ??

Personally, I went from button 1.05 rom to TMobile 2.26 rom to new WM6 rom.

I flashed 3.08 later - as is does not change the O/S - only IPL/SPL. Did not find any benefit to it, so went back down to 2.26

Please note that there are freezing issues if you flash down from 3.08 to 1.05. Apparently the spl can freeze if you do this - and that is a problem. So, to play it safe - do not do that - thanks.

It is always recommended that you flash a solid 2.xx rom such as the TMobile one when going between the different WM6 roms available here - you may want to try that - go down to 2.xx, then upgrade to WM6

thats very good to know i'm actualy in a freeze spl is on 3.08
any idea hwo to downgrade?

I've attached a link to another thread about the freezing issue. Unfortunately, it does not give the answer as to how to fix it. But - should no one else answer on this - I would recommend that you send a private message to senior user "mestrini", and hopefully he can walk you through it.

I got my info from him as per the attached post. I do not have enough experience as to why it freezes - or how to fix it.

Well,after downgrading to 1.xx and CID unlocking,its essential to upgrade to ipl/spl 2.xx for upgrade to wm6,its highly recommended to upgrade to 2.xx by flashing the T-mobile 2.26 for a solid base,but,however, you can still even upgrade to wm6 with ipl/spl 3.08.Wm6 works on 2.xx and 3.xx.

I believe your phone is still CID locked,you didn't do the CID unlock method correctly,but you upgraded to ipl/spl 3.08,now you can only CID unlock your phone by downgrading to 1.xx. Yes! SPL freezes if you downgrade to 1.xx from 3.08.So always first downgrade to 2.xx and then to 1.xx.Now I'll advise you to upgrade to IPL/SPL 3.08 again and then try to downgrade to 2.xx by flashing the T-mobile or Wizard_love Rom or official stock Rom of your carrier if other then T-mobile.If succeed to downgrade to 2.xx,only then flash Button's Rom 1.05 to get to 1.xx and apply the lokiwiz02b to CID unlock the phone.After that upgrade to 2.xx by flashing T-mobile 2.26 and upgrade to any wm6 Rom.

thanks for tring but device doesn't let me downgrade to 2.26 or any other 2.xx ipl/spl only stright down to 1.xx and like you said spl freeze on 3.08
when i tried wizard love it did the rom flash but still ipl/spl 3.08
i'll try to find my 2.xx official rom
