I lost my connection to the AT&T network after installing this CAB. I uninstalled it and ran the HTC setup wizard again. Its not a big deal to me however, I get 800kbps to 1200kbps using the default configuration on the phone; upwards of 1800kbps when tethered.

No issues here. Just make sure in your e-mail setup that you have the right connections set up. My works just fine connecting to my g-mail by default.

It has something to do with my ISP. I'm messing with the options right now. I can receive fine, I just can't send. I re-installed the ATT Settings cab and I'm messing with my settings now.

I can send and receive fine using my hotmail account.

ok, installed att cab and starting having the same problem, unistalled, soft reset, ran the connection set up wizard again, let is reboot, then ran the cab below, after installing the cab, i set my settings from my first post,(media net settings) reboot and now it works perfect.

Hey guys, do you have an idea why in my ringtone selection dropdown list i have only 3 ringtones - dogbark, alouette and ding??? I'm sure when i just flashed this rom (yesterday) my ringtone was Vista_Windows_ringtone, smth like that. I actually received one call in the morning and i am 100% sure that i heard the Vista sound, but after that i noticed that my device started barking... I dont know how to change it back. Need your assistance.

I lost my connection to the AT&T network after installing this CAB. I uninstalled it and ran the HTC setup wizard again. Its not a big deal to me however, I get 800kbps to 1200kbps using the default configuration on the phone; upwards of 1800kbps when tethered.

For what it's worth ATW, after installing your cab, I still don't get over 500k download speed. At least I didn't lose data completely! I'm not too worried, but I'll probably dink around with some setting when I find the time.

No worries man...I just know for that it works great for me. Also try changing the DNS servers to see if you get better results.

EDIT UPDATE: Using the .cab that I have and testing only in a 3G and not HSDPA coverage area I was able to get a 627kb download speed using dslreports

Are radio's allowed to be posted to the XDA FTP? I know that all the WM ROMs have been gone for some time, but are radio ROMs considered copyrighted also?

This ROM rocks !

Fast, stable, compatible... all apps I usually use are running smothly... minor bugs are here to make us think a bit at least, otherwise we'd end up being lazy SOBs... thank you Dutty ;)

One thing I found out while installing iGO:
There is still a conflict between iGO and HTC Home in this release (like it was in .19199 release) - iGO installs okay, but won't start 'out of the box'.
Solution:
I found out somewhere in forum that Music Player is the one causing problems for iGO, removing it from icon list in Start-Settings-Today-HTC Home list does the trick.
Even better: I just moved it down in list (now 'Music' is last in list instead of 'Profile') and now iGO works and I have HTC Home icon for Audio Manager working :D

The only way I got it to work for me was to completely remove HTC Home off of my today screen. I don't use it anyways so it doesn't bother me.

Disable it in your Today Screen Stat > Settings > Today

Uncheck HTC Home.

If I'm not mistaken I believe in works in Dutty's Apr 9 19209 build with HTC Home enabled and music tab removed.


EDIT UPdate: Just tried it on Dutty's newest build with the HTC Home music tab removed and it booted up just fine.

If you want a ROM where igo works, take a wm6.0 rom.

You could try att outgoing server, cwmx.com (doesn't work over WIFI).

I had this problem too. A few pages back, someone suggested hitting the spacebar on the hardware keyboard to fix this, and it actually works to an extent. When the keyboard pops up on its own, I open the hardware keyboard, which hides the popup keyboard. After a few more seconds of whatever I'm doing, the popup keyboard will reappear, even though my hardware keyboard is out. So I hit the hardware space bar, close the hardware keyboard, and the popup keyboard seems to behave a little better for a while. It'll act up again, though, eventually. :(

I don't think this is what he's asking. I'm not using PCM Keyboard, but I'm seeing the same behavior after installing the default keyboard.

Thanks for the tip drokkon, svcglobal; I did read all of the posts in the thread, but sometimes the first time you read it, you dont have the problem and so you forget about it. There is an option in the keyboard menu to disable it, so I didn't think there was another screen that says it does the exact thing. So I am glad it will allow me to type www.yahoo.com without it changing it to www.yahoo.company lol I was just about to change it back to the old style keyboard, but I will try to live with it a little bit longer since I do like it. I just dont like how it takes over my whole screen when i dont want it to.

I was running Dutty's 08-03-08 ROM with the 1.58.16.27 Niki radio, and from 0730 til 1200 I was using 7% of the battery (3G enabled, bluetooth headset connected, and Live mail being pushed). But I'm at work, so I'm not making calls or surfing - only turning on the screen three or four times to check e-mail or the weather.

Switched to this ROM and the radio that comes with it (1.64.08.21) and installed SPB Shell too. The next day I had used 8 or 9% by noon - but then I realized I had made a 5 minute call before work too.

So I can't see that SPB Shell drains the battery, unless the new radio/ROM combo sips so little that they are just compensating.

UPDATE: So I'm currently using a 24MB PP version of this ROM (from SH4YD33) with the 1.58.16.27 radio. From 0730 til 1200 it's using 2-3% of the battery!!! However, I think my bluetooth connection isn't quite as good - more static and less responsive to my commands. Phone can be quirky: signal is strong, but it seems to drop calls more often. 3G connections are excellent, and the jury's still out on the GPS.

But we're talking dropping less than 0.5% an hour with 3G and bluetooth enabled!

My concern at the moment has been mentioned here before, but I don't believe a solution was offered: random mutings. I was at a wedding today and was 100% positive I changed it from muted back to full volume after the ceremony. Later I checked the phone and I had missed a call - the volume was re-muted! This has happened before.

This particularly scares me because this phone is also my alarm clock - the last thing I need is it muting itself in the middle of the night. Worse yet, what if it changed itself from mute to full volume in the middle of the wedding ceremony?!?

(One last note to help anyone diagnose: I use SPB Mobile Shell (NOT the cause, since this behavior existed before I installed MS) and it has icons for the different volume profiles. When it muted itself, the volume icon was NOT the mute icon, but rather the full volume icon. However, the digits below the icon read 0%. As such, perhaps the phone is only lowering the volume to zero rather than actually setting itself to the "mute" volume profile?)

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Today I muted the phone like I always do at work. I went to verify my radio version for my last post, and the start menu was clicking out loud! Back on the SPB Today screen, the speaker icon still had the little mute icon, but read 40% below it!

I came back to it. I will hold down the fort with you. This in my opinion is still the best ROM to date. Great battery life as well. Don't know why but I get better battery life with this build than the 19209 build. ;)

I still like this one too. I will probably use it as long as possible, prob reflash it if a program I like expires. I haven't tried the latest 19209 but my favorite builds are;

1. This hybrid
2. 19199 RTM

Very nicely put. As I am always experimenting with different radio's I have come to believe that different radio's work better with different builds. I will give 1.64.08.21 a run for today and see how it compares to the 1.58.16.27. Plus with all the radio's on my 8GB MicroSD I can always change radio's on the fly.

Nope not kidding.

OK build 19716. It's not originally from a Kaiser. I believe it's actually from a Hermes. I haven't figured out exactly where though.

So this build was never originally intended for the Kaiser. Remember this is derived from the first WM6.1 Beta that was taken from a Chinese website.

Conveniently bumping this back to page one (almost on page 3!) with a legit question:

In another, redundant thread, someone suggested that "automatic profiles" could be responsible for strange goings-on with volume. They mentioned to look in HTC Home. This ROM certainly has HTC Home, but I'm not using it... do I need to enable it to its check settings, or can it affect anything while it's disabled anyway?

I having a problem getting MobiTV to perform at 100%. The hour glass keeps coming on when trying to show a video. I dont think its a problem with streaming, I think it has to do with the issues of the absences of a video driver because when I go to full screen it gets even worse.

I've been watching MobiTV for a half hour or so, and I only saw the hourglass once - and that was when I was opening and closing the device, trying to get "full screen" mode to work horizontally. (Which I STILL can't figure out how to do.)

Anyway - the video is really choppy, but the audio works fine, and I'm not getting an hourglass... but you're right - full screen is even worse!

Easily, go Start/Programs/System Tools/AdvanceConfig and click Menu option at the bottom of screen and right of PCM keyboard. The very first item, Key Mapping, is that you are asking.

Different radio's work different for different people. I just tell people use which one works best for you. I also know that the the 1.58.21.23 radio's work really well for people.

Sorry you're affected by that bug, ATW.

For those of you thinking of trying Mobile Shell 2.0, I'm happy to say that it doesn't affect my battery life AT ALL. Running MS 2.0, bluetooth and 3G enabled and I lose less than 1% an hour when the phone's just sitting there. That's with the 16.27 radio.

Yeah, I noticed that too, Mobile Shell is notorious for it, just check the forums on SPB's site. What gets me is SPB still says they can't see any problems, either they're not doing the testing they need to or they're just denying the problem exists.

Do you use SPB Pocket Plus at all? That's a pretty good program, and doesn't have the battery drain issue, I would like to put it back on, but that stupid issue (the signal going in and out at boot up, then locking in after a minute) in the thread I linked to, maybe it was Mobile Shell doing it?

I have the same problem with the Streaming Media player, I have Core Player so I just associated all the files with it and everything plays fine now.

Edit-Is there a cab file for the HTC Streaming Media? I was thinking maybe if you reinstalled the cab, it would fix it.

What is the remdy for that as I try also to access my 3G camera remotly the streaming stuck on connected can any one help to over this ? Thanks..

I'm having an error with this ROM where any message sent stays in the outbox, and keeps resending every time active sync updates. I keep having to go to the outbox and delete the message.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix it? I'm contemplating moving to a later release and hoping this won't be an issue there but I can't find any mention of this anywhere.

Still using this ROM since its first release day.
Can't see any instability like SOD at all. Just the opposite, very stable and loaded with all "things" I need to do my work.
And after saw that "radio of hell" issue thread, I intend to keep this ROM for a long time...

There is no way you did a search because those issues (the com manager pop up in particular) are all over the forums as that bug has been present for a month and lots of people are affected. I've seen a workaround someplace for a couple of those issues so keep searching. The screenshot you posted is a known bug in a few of dutty's roms with no known fix, yet.

I figured he was talking about an actual fix to the bug, not a workaround :) Dutty says that in his newest build he hasn't seen the "missing title bar" yet, but we'll see. Someone else I know with the apr 27 rom says he reproduced it already.

I have always had the Comm Manager issue with the last 5 or 6 dutty roms. To fix, go to Utilities>Task Manager and find the Comm Manager and close it there. It will become second nature to you, as it did me. You only have to do that after you use the Comm Manager.

Not sure I can help, but it appears to me that the registry editor in this ROM opens a slew of cool apps, including running processes, etc. You can switch between all the things by hitting "ok" or using the tabs. I assume that you just need to make sure that you exit the entire "suite" in order to get the bar to go away. In fact, I really can't even get it to stay on my today screen after closing regedit.

Since the "taskbar" is obviously a feature of this suite, you can probably turn it off by accessing "options" when in regedit.

I want to report that the space bar keyboard bug is still there, even after tweaking with Kaisertweak the recommended words to 0. I followed the steps properly, tried just offing and oning the pda, and checking, no cure. tried setting, reset, checking, no cure.

Also, it appears that whenever i close a window, too fast (messaging window for example) i can sometimes get an ugly static screen (looks like white noise screen or something) for a period of half to a full one second.

Otherwise, the rom is extremely fast, and i wud have been extremely happy with it, but the keyboard problem has forced me to change to another rom while waiting for a proper fix from dutty.

I'm using the cubed version of this rom

Okay... so I found that the problem only happens when the record time is set to "No Limit". If I switch it to 3 minutes - or anything else - it will record that long without a problem. However, when I stop recording I just get the wait cursor forever and it doesn't do anything. I have to hit the Ok button to close the camera and the video doesn't save. I let it sit for probably 10 minutes last night and then just gave up.

(i install and uninstall a lot of software). is there a setting to activate this?

Make sure that you have an unlimited media net account and that you are setup with proxy disabled. You may also have to disable the hidden proxy. There is a .cab for that available by searching the forum.

I was about ready to join you all back down here. Been using Apr29 Hybrid v2, and the bluetooth problems, MSVC inconsistencies, random mutings, and now the screen turning off every 10 seconds no matter what I do... I was ready to bail.

When they started joking that Dutty went to a Blackberry, it was all but a sealed deal - Apr01 Hybrid v1 would be on my phone until I got a new phone!

However, Dutty resurfaced momentarily and said that he'll be releasing a ROM today or tomorrow based on the new AT&T build (19213, I believe). I've heard good things about the build, so that's encouraging.

Just thought I'd pass that along to people not watching the Hybrid v2 thread!

Searching this thread for "backlight" turns up several people with the same problem. I'm using Apr29 Hybrid v2 and this behavior JUST started on my phone after nearly a month. No matter what I set the backlight to, the screen turns off in 10 seconds.

Was this ever resolved?

I'm sure you accidentally hit the bubble, but I have no idea where to enable it. If I find it while poking around, I'll let you now.

For some reason after I installed this ROM, my computer won't recognize my phone. I have tried hard reset, soft reset, going into the active sync settings, (nothing there that i need) and still nothing. Before I flashed this rom, I had no problems, any suggestions? Thanks!

try double clicking on your "windows mobile device center" from your pc. Previous to this it should recognize your device as storage media.

did you install the cd that came with the device? it would create an icon on your desktop if you installed it correctly.

First off I would like to thank Dutty for this very nice rom. The best I have ran yet. I have a question tho. I used to run a program called Memor-Map Navigator, and it worked great on my old rom (schlap's WM6.1 pro ver 4.40). For some reason it dosn't want to run on this one. The cab installs, and all the icons appear as normal, but when you press them, the program dosn't start.

I do alot of 4wheeling in the back country, and need a usefull gps program that can load topographical maps. Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this.

Ok, I got it working, apparently I had disabled the network connection, which is a bad thing.... Works now! Still working on fixing the camera, though...

unplug the device and restart the computer if the icon appears on your desktop. After restart and login, replug your device, double click on the icon it should connect.

Alright, so i dumped back to an old radio, and whala, the camera works! Yay! I love this ROM!

Maybe I missed this in the posts somewhere, but I seem to be having some trouble. For some reason today, I linked up my bluetooth earpiece, and I made like 3 calls. When I went to make the 4th call, I could dial, I could connect, but I couldn't hear them and they couldn't hear me. It did this about 5 or 6 times to like 3 different numbers i dialed. I disconnected and turned off the bt, and still had the same problem. Oddly enough, I have another problem where after a bit of time, there is no audio from the phone. It's like the phone just went into a mute and I can't get it to come back on. After a hard boot, it came back, but I don't want to have to hard boot every time. I flashed this rom, and reverted back to radio 1.65.14.06. If anyone has a solution to these problems, please let me know. Also, if anyone can tell me how to keep my battery alive, please let me know that too, as I have used it maybe 4 times today to send txt messages, locked it, then turned off the screen, and am at 64% just from standby mode. Sounds like you need a different radio, I haven't really seen someone use the radio you have with this rom.

This probably won't help, but I noticed that when that pops up, there's a "yes" softkey, a "no" softkey, and a button in the actual bubble that says "don't ask again."

I'm sure you accidentally hit the bubble, but I have no idea where to enable it. If I find it while poking around, I'll let you now.

drokkon, i think you're right.

poking around in the touch dual dialer cab i noticed that there was a registry entry titled "AddNumber" under PhoneExtendSetting and that the value is set to "1" by default. however, in my registry it was set to "0" so I probably hit the bubble you're talking about.

anyway, here is the portion of the registry the key is located in. i changed the value to 1. i'll have to wait for an unknown caller or i'll call myself from an unknown number to test it out.

found an annoying bug, sending messages (text) on orange uk sends multiple instead of 1. All my friends are complaining I am spamming them lol, sending up to 6 times the same message. Any ideas?

Just an FYI but I switched back to this rom. This is still by far, the most stable rom I have EVER flashed. I was having some issues with the last rom that I flashed and I needed something reliable for the weekend so I flashed back to this rom. I know my flashing addiction won't keep me here for long, but this is also the rom that I have used for the longest time.

I figured I'd bump this thread up so someone who is looking for a speedy, extremely stable rom would be able to see this. I'm trying to find a radio that works with this rom because the Diamond roms have had slightly better battery life than I'm getting now. If anyone that flashed this rom remembers which radio gave them the best battery life, please let me know.

that radio will not work with this rom, that is a WM6.0 radio, i recommend you try the 1.58.16.27 radio, as it's among the best for battery life.

Thanks for the info, I will give it a shot and hope for the best. Kind of irritating when my battery is usually at around 45% after an 18 hour day, even when I haven't done anything but 3 or 4 txt msgs all day...

don't move teh IE cache to the storage card. If you move it back to the main memory then your problem will disappear.
