Hi guys!

I just wanna know, i have a Hima about 2 years old............. Sometimes at any given time, it just dies, and restart again, there is no pattern to this. (My Ramdisk is then wiped, my time defaults back to 12:00, but the rest of the data stays on the phone<Sms'es, emails programs> is still there)

I have flashed another ROM but still get this timeously.
Is this the battery? Or something else?

I dont wanna spend bucks on a battery and then the same problem occurs.

i did check the pins etc, everything is in great order!

Thanks for the help guys!:)

So we are talking a hard reset obviously, not a soft reset.

My Hima has done that on two occasions that I can remember, where it has been fully charged and all of a sudden just reset or not been able to turn on until I stick it back in its cradle. I have heard it happening to other people too with the same phone. One friend found that the battery was shorting out on metal somewhere (not sure where). Another found that it only seemed to do it on very hot days. I guess somehow the shape of the case changes slightly in the heat and doesn't press the battery firmly against the connector.

Other than that, I am not really sure. There may be a rouge setting that constantly drains the battery. How often does this happen?

i got the same problem since about half a year with my hima.
it occurs randomly, sometimes every 30 secs, sometimes every 1-2 weeks.
sometimes the clock is changed to 12:00 and the date to 01.09.2003, sometimes not.
sometimes putting it in the craddle works, sometimes not (shows red light, as if it has no battery and screen stays blank)
this also damages data on the sd card from time to time (i think, this occurs, when its currently using the sd card while the reset starts)

i can reproduce the same behaviour
by removing the back panel and tabbing the batt
in a special place i say it's hardware

Hey A90!

Question: Is the backup battery part of the battery, or is it build into the Hima?

Cause i see mine sometimes shows:
Main battery: 98% etc
Backup:50%

A few hours after the backup battery shows 100% again

Strange, my phone did not yet blackout this week!
