I've tried d/l the Micro ROMs (both new and orig) but was unable to flash them. It kept skipping the SD card and went straight into bootloader initially but then after I formatted my SD card with a 256MB partition, it started checking the SD card for update.
After a minute or so of checking, it returned an error saying Invalid Certificate.

Any help on how I could get around this problem.

I'm fairly new to the WM5/6 thing, but it sounds to me like you haven't modified your phone for HARD-SPL. There are links with the required information provided at the beginning of this thread.

TTRAN, since I haven't checked in for a while, thought I would real quick. I have been using 4.1 micro since you released it. I also flashed my wifes Wing with it too. Neither of us have encountered any big issues. I have noticed some slow down on mine, but I believe it has to do with all the apps I installed. My wife definitely misses WMP, so I will probably re-flash hers with one of the other OT 4 ROMS.

I have two questions about open touch

I loaded Open Touch 4.0 Vista with TF Cube.

1) I cannot run cube even if I followed the procedure given in the Open Touch about TF setings. How can I run this thing?

2) I installed FlashVideoBundle in OpenTouch Forum. But it seems TCPMP and FlashVideoBundle do not work together. For example, when I enter youtube.com, It gives me "Java is not installed" error. How about that?

A member mentioned that that version 0.72RC1 of TCPMP works with youtube.
So, install videoflashbundle, then on top of it download 0.72RC1 of TCPMP and you're good with youtube.
Keep playing with the cube, It'll work..

I believe you need to go to network wizard and set it to your provider, than soft reset and you should be good to go.

I notice that folks keep having issues with mms/sms due to not running the network wizard. Please read my FAQ before flashing my roms. I spent a lot of time writing it for you the users to help reduce wasted time spent on wondering why things do not work.

Looks like I will have to go with the auto network configuration in the next release instead of the network wizard.

Hi! I am using the 4.0 Biggy with Cube and I love it, so much better than the stock ROM, props to you ttran.

The only weird thing I've had to deal with is that it seems like everytime I set an alarm it goes off, regardless of if it is the current one set, or if it is even set.

Example.

I set alarm 1 for 9am and then I change it to 10am. Then I change it to 8am. Then I change it to 9am. The alarm will go off at 8am, and then two alarms (it will give me two notices and I can hear my alarm ring tone echoing, meaning two tones are going off) and then the alarm will go off at 10am.

Even then this doesn't seem to happen consistently, but it happens enough to where its starting to be an inconvenience. This morning i had 3 alerts pop up at my normal alarm time, with 3 tones overlaying each other.

Does anybody know what the issue is here, I know the Dash had certain alarm problems where it went off everyday at the same time but its not quite the same as mine.

Touchflo should just work, or at least it did for me. I think for Windows 6.1, the proper name is "Biotouch" which works with mostapps that have a scroll bar. There is no Cube in either Micro though.

Hello all,

Anyone have problems with DRM'ed music playback after upgrading to this ROM? I have a Rhapsody To Go subscription and after flashing this ROM I used Window Media Player 11 to sync my Rhapsody songs to my Wing. The Sync went OK, but every time I attempt to play a song I receive the following error from windows media player mobile:

"%1 is not a valid Win32 application"

If I fall back to the stock T-mobile Wing ROM and sync everything works OK.

hey, did you try to turn the alarm off completely then reset it? it might be a bug.... disabling it maybe wipe it and then you can rearm it to ur desired time... just a suggestion

I just want something that offers some thumbnails cause most of my videos are like "MOV02340" and its hard to know whats what. I'm also having trouble with the glossy bars always coming on when i reset my phone, that is an extreme bother because i have to change my theme twice to remove it. And I'm also wondering if theres any update on the dialer skin change, i heard there were gonna be .cabs coming out for it but not to sure.

I dunno if anyone has run into this problem or not, but my speaker has stopped working. The only way I can talk on the phone is to use the phone in speaker phone mode.

People can hear me when I speak into the phone, I just can't hear them.

flash different roms. if the results are different than it is most likely a setting issue, which can be fixed in the registry. if it doesnt improve than you are dealing with a hardware problem..

What version of Opentouch are u using? if it's the Micro, you're better off with the Lite Black.

As far as the black bars go, go to Windows>Startup and delete the Glossy Black Bars lnk.

In order to preserve RAM, you have to tap it twice. First time to load it, the second time to enable it. If you are still experiencing this problem, then try reflashing. Could be a bad flash.

I have the Micro New ROM on my Wing. Everything works great but the only problem I have is that since the ROM didn't come with WM Player, I can't play mp3s. I installed HTC Audio Manager but that doesn't work - it loads the mp3s but just skips through the files in an endless loop ... can't understand why?

Do I need to install any codecs or do I need WM Player? And if so, where could I get those? Or is there any other mp3 player that someone could recommend I could use.

when i lock the phone the volume slider doesn't lock with the rest of the keys.. you can still adjust the volume while the phone is locked. anyone else run into this problem? is there a fix for this? a registry tweak maybe?

I was having problems a while back receiving MMS messages. I changed the Connect via: setting under MMS to My ISP and that fixed my problem. Figured I'd throw that out there.

I was wondering if anyone else ran into an alignment problem. I normally back up my data so in the future if I get another phone I could simply restore all my data and programs onto the newer phone. Everything backs up fine and dandy until I try to realign the touch screen ( it's needed because all screens are not calibrated the same - what is the middle for your first phone can be over to the right half an cm away on another screen.)

On this rom as well as the just2clean roms - after aligning the screen once you can not go into the alignment screen again. It would freeze. Any way to solve this? without having to hard reset once again to fix something as small as this?

Follow the FAQ on the original thread where you downloaded the rom.

Once your down running network wizard, make sure to uncheck everything in the proxy section.

Read the FAQ section on the main thread where you downloaded the rom.

It will cover how to run network wizard and setup your new connections.

That's what it was set to.. but i realized that if i hit the power button to turn off the backlight the volume slider stayed locked. thanks for the help!

I did go to Network Wizard and i followed all the FAQ postings. But after a while my connection just goes away. I will get connected and then my phone wont be touched for 15 minutes then I will try to access the internet or Aim and it says connection lost!!!!

you do it the same way you flashed to trans rom...
Download the radio rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=387696

then open flashcenter folder that you should have on your pc when you orig flashed to trans rom( I just reopen/unzip the .rar file and rename it radio rom) then put the new radio rom only in the ruu folder, and then just start the rom update utility like you are flashing a new rom...
no need to do anything else( it doesn't erase the info on your phone.. )

never mind...I had the copy of RUU in the same damn part as the original flash center so when it ran the RUU, it ran Open Touch 4.0 instead of the radio rom update. How stupid of me!!!! AAAAAAAAARRRRGGGGGHH!!!!!

find your orig .rar file for flashcenter... extract it in a new folder ( name it radio rom ), then extract the radio rom .nbh file, place the radio rom (.nbh file ) into the ruu folder anywhere, go up one folder and double click the update utility... it should work fine from there...

seems like you have something else in the folder or not putting the .nbh file in the right spot...
it does take a few minutes and the phone will reset itself..

at first i couldnt flash the radio but after a couple tries it worked!! I redownloaded the flash center and put it in my folder called 'RADIO ROM' then i downloaded the radio file and extracted into the RUU folder. I ran the HARD USPL again and followed the instructions after it went to ROM update utility at first it said it couldnt find my PDA and then said it was finished when nothing happened. After another try, it worked!! hopefully this will help with my Connection issue..thanks soo much!

If the new radio doesn't help, go to post 141 and try to set up your settings that way. Worked for me.

If you are using the same flash center that I am using (I don't know of any other, so I am assuming you are), just make sure that the radio is the only .rbh file in the RUU folder. If you have problems with the flash itself, you can always try to run the RUU at the boot loader screen. I tend to get let troubles when I do it that way.

Now I have a question... how do I change the splash screen? I got the splash screen changer thingy majig, and I get the .nb file created... but how do I put in place?

Ok, just flashed to the OT 4.0 Biggy file and have some issues.

1. The task manager button in the top right corner stays there even when in a program so it's a pain to close said program by tapping the X since it's confusing itself with two buttons on top of each other.
2. From the main page, I cannot go into the task manager as the button works less than 10% of the time I click it. When it finally does open, I see all the programs that I finally got to close by hitting the X so apparently, it's not closing programs without going into the task manager?
3. SMS texts. I receive a text and usually I'd click it to go into the text to read it but it won't actually do that. It just sits there and stares at you. Try to exit messaging, well refer to #1. The only way I can read the text is by deleting it then going into the deleted folder to open it. If I want to save it, then I need to remove it to the inbox where I can't reopen it.
4. I backed up the entire phone, flashed to this Rom, loaded the backup program and reloaded the files. Now it won't read any MP3's on the SD card. It just says it's a corrupt file so I can't use any MP3's as ringers or anything.
5. Go into my SD card with File Explorer, select an MP3 and try to play it but selecting it does nothing. I can scroll up or down to a new file but nothing will open or do anything.
6. BatteryStatus doesn't open. I had it open last night but as I was playing with the toolbars and seeing what's on them, it disappeared and using File Explorer to get it back up does nothing like #5.
7. Ringer as a whole doesn't work. Won't even vibrate now!
8. If you try to do too much, like closing a program, it will freeze up and take a couple minutes to close and let you do anything else.

That's just what I've found while trying to get it setup and testing things today. I'm sure there's a lot more but I am not an advanced user. I was just looking for a Rom with some neat features and is faster than the stock Rom. Plus, the stock rom was giving me issues with typing on the keyboard so I needed something to work in general. I'm honestly wishing I wouldn't have flashed this because now I'm scared I have corrupted or lost all my MP3's and settings. I'm at work now but I'm going to get home and flash to a different Rom (V3 maybe?) to see if that might work better and have less glitches. How is it everyone is having such great success with this Rom and I have nothing but problems? I'm not a tweak who jacks with everything.

That's just what I've found while trying to get it setup and testing things today. I'm sure there's a lot more but I am not an advanced user. I was just looking for a Rom with some neat features and is faster than the stock Rom. Plus, the stock rom was giving me issues with typing on the keyboard so I needed something to work in general. I'm honestly wishing I wouldn't have flashed this because now I'm scared I have corrupted or lost all my MP3's and settings. I'm at work now but I'm going to get home and flash to a different Rom (V3 maybe?) to see if that might work better and have less glitches. How is it everyone is having such great success with this Rom and I have nothing but problems? I'm not a tweak who jacks with everything.

which version of the rom do you have? vista or the one with voice command???

not sure whats causing the issues... but you might want to check to see if any of the apps you loaded after flashing may be causing a conflict... that happens sometimes and it will freeze your device

Ok, just flashed to the OT 4.0 Biggy file and have some issues.

1. The task manager button in the top right corner stays there even when in a program so it's a pain to close said program by tapping the X since it's confusing itself with two buttons on top of each other.
2. From the main page, I cannot go into the task manager as the button works less than 10% of the time I click it. When it finally does open, I see all the programs that I finally got to close by hitting the X so apparently, it's not closing programs without going into the task manager?

wow.. the issues you are having dont sound good... did you follow the directions to the T when doing the flash, like make sure your device was in airplane mode when flashing?
try flashing the same rom again, and then following the steps in the instructions exactly. your issues that you are having are weird, no one else has had those problems.
and then after you flash it, see if everything works properly before installing any apps.
make sure you watch the video about what to do after flashing.

Yes I did it to a T. Literally read it over and over for almost 2 weeks until I understood it and researched every step to make sure I knew what I was doing. Watched the video after setting it up but it's exactly as I did...

SO I retried flashing the same rom and got an error on the phone which I had to do a soft reboot. Still was having issues so I tried loading the stock T Mobile rom and that left me at the white screen. Probably not good! I'm going to try and load the OT 3.0 biggy and see if it's more reliable... cross your fingers.

July last year. Was working fine till last month when the keyboard started locking up the phone, no matter the application. Started with texts but then moved to anything. I did many progs here to make sure I had plenty of memory and I always had 13-15megs but still had the freezing issues. So I came here and found out about flashing new ROMs. The rom fixed the problem but as you can see, had a TON of issues. So I'm loading the 3.0 now... will report back.

dude dont go backwards.... try and redownload the biggy rom again... maybe the one you downloaded was damaged... sometimes that happens...

just loaded 3.0 biggy and thus far, it's great. Still getting a few details setup so I'll start playing heavily with it in a second. The weather actually works unlike the 4.0 I had going. The cube works too. Gotta get stuff setup!

I have the Micro New ROM on my Wing. Everything works great but the only problem I have is that since the ROM didn't come with WM Player, I can't play mp3s. I installed HTC Audio Manager but that doesn't work - it loads the mp3s but just skips through the files in an endless loop ... can't understand why?

Do I need to install any codecs or do I need WM Player? And if so, where could I get those? Or is there any other mp3 player that someone could recommend I could use.

Is anyone having trouble playing music tracks from Napster? I use Napster to download my music. Before the flash I could play them fine with the windows media player but now they won't play. Any ideas?

I get an error message that pops up that says %1 is not a Valid Win32 application. I could play these files before the flash.

okay now all of a sudden quickmenu won't start up at all. I thick the issue was that I changed the today background, but I want to get it back to the way it was and have quickmenu on at startup. now I was able to go to quickmenu's settings and create a shortcut, so even if it doesn't start at startup I can still access it.

I am having problem with my Xbutton. It does not close the application even if I checked the option in the task manager. Also, I do not get the drop down menu with the list of the tasks in the top bar. I did a search for the problem and people mentioned the batterystatus task manager,. but somehow, it does not seem to work. each time I check the option in batterystatus, click ok, and when I go back to it, it is not checked and it does not do anything.
Anybody has an idea?

Also, each time I soft reset I lose some of my settings ( quick menu comes back and my background/color of the bars are back to default) any idea? It seems I need to get rid of the quick menu.lnk file but I have no idea for the bars.

Has anybody come up with a solution to the problem with emails being automatically deleted? I have no problem with text messages just my Gmail. I can receive a message and look at it and go back later and its gone. Its just frustrating. :mad:

when i turn on the speaker phone it is already really loud at the lowest volume.. is there a reg tweak to change this so when the volume is all the way down it is silent and when all the way up it is loud?

Hey. I have the Slim version that doesn't include Office Suite, so I can't open .rtf, .doc, and other files. I went to the microsoft site and downloaded the .msi install file for the pocket pc. I connected my Wing to my computer, ran the .msi install file and it gave me an error that there are no traces of the office suite on my phone and that i have to buy it.. then the installer made me quit out of the installation. I've read some posts on here about people installing the office suite on their sd card and i was wondering how it was done. please help!

my quickmenu issues was that it was dissapearing... might disable it and use wisbar advance instead..not sure though...
go to quickmenu, options and then choose to create a program link ( on the command tab ), then quickmenu shows up in the list of programs from the start menu.... click on the quickmenu icon and then the quickmenu will pop back up. soft reset and it will be back.

I re-installed the OT 4 biggy and one thing I noticed that I'd like to change is to remove the "delete all" option in the email context menu.

Anyone have any ideas?
