Whoa, say what?
Unless I'm off my rocker, Silverlight is Microsoft's answer to Adobe Flash. It's a "web experience" application, and they've announced that they'll be releasing a mobile version so that developers can create websites and apps using Silverlight for mobile users too (it's already been out for desktop systems for a while). Presumably this mobile version will come with the official 6.1 release.
How you all got it confused with MS Update, I have no idea. I guess they might DISTRIBUTE Silverlight through MS Update, but it's not MS Update itself. They may even design parts of MS Update website using Silverlight in the future, but I certainly doubt it, as Vista's MS Update is built into the OS and doesn't even use the MS Update website.
