Help! SMS does not work at all

I have had my htc s710 for 2 months and it could never send or receive sms. I have updated to the latest rom. And even flashed the new guava rom and it still had no difference. I cant send or receive txt message. I am currently on the Cingular network. I am thinking it has something to do with the sms settings...where can I change this? any ideas what is wrong with it?

Also, can i remove messenger and windows live? I do not ever use them...

I checked the service center number and it is the correct number. +1312.....

Check: Settings -> Connections -> SMS Service

I have it on gsm preferred.
