I put the CHome interface on a diet. I always though the panels were too fat.... so I made them thinner. All this was done in the .cpr file in \windows. So I attached it here, if you want to try it to your device. Make sure to backup your original file, in case you want to go back. Enjoy... :D

mind if I ask which WM6.1 u are using? I have been trying to get my Dash to look like those pictures.
I downloaded Ricky V8 vanilla but it doesn't show "My Programs" like on yours.
I wonder if his V7 is a better bet.

I have an issue with iconbar and this slim Chome profile - inconbar background has a part of the background picture which is not connected to the rest of the background picture
I gues you have it also, but it is less visible since you have that line-background
Any ideas on how to remedy this?

same here as jsp. the slim bars dont look bad but it shifts the topbar area of the background image to the left. if only i wasnt picky about the topbar being transparent. good find though. thanks

I am almost sure that it can easily be resolved by adapting the size specs in Chome cpr file (open in notepad), probably here:
<Image ID="Background" Opacity="1.0" Top="0" Width="320" Height="220"/>
<Layer ID="StaticHomeArea" Visible="False"/>
<ListView ID="HomeNav" Width="320" Height="186" Columns="1" Rows="5" ItemWidth="320" ItemHeight="36">
<Layer ID="Focus" Width="320" Height="84">
<Image ID="Image Default" Width="320" Height="84" ScalingAlgorithm = "TriLinear" Opacity="1.0" />
<ControlSequence ID="Action Sequence" FramesPerSecond="30" Loop="False">
<Image ID="Image" Left="0" Top="0" Width="320" Height="114" ScalingAlgorithm = "TriLinear" Opacity="1.0" />
</ControlSequence>
or in the active homescreen xml
will playaround a bit, if I don't fix it I will rather drop out iconbar than this great feature

Can you take a SS.
Im thinking if you resize the pic to 320*240 should fix it. I think the pics 320*213

Nice ... perhaps panels could slimmed down even further using 96 DPI?
NRGZ28
3rd April 2008, 04:03 PM
The panels CAN be slimmed down as much as you want... :)
The way to fix that is to change background issue is to change the second line in the file to this...
<Image ID="Background" Opacity="1.0" Top="-27" Width="320" Height="213"/>

I don't use them either, but how did you remove them?
NRGZ28
3rd April 2008, 09:37 PM
Post updated. Redownload the file in the first post and try it out. You remove the panels by editing the .xml file in the application data/home directory. Just remove the references to photos and music and they wont show up.

how do u customize smarttoolkit?
if depends on what you're wanting to customize. Most customization is done through start-->control panel then settings, general, hotkeys, appearance, and auto keylock.. there are also skins and font add-ons too and a screen saver you can add (non-moving screen saver) ,. but you'll need to download those at www.e-natives.com

@NRGZ.... just a function question: How come the changes only have to be made in 320X240.cpr and not 240x320.cpr? I have a thought, but I would like to know for sure.
Thanks

Well the other file is for the portrait orientation,which doesn't apply to our devices.... but people with the Vox for example, would use it :)

Will this cab work on the Vox without modification, cos it looks better than the default fat chome panels?

Yes it will, but it will only make the panels slim in landscape mode. I didn't take the time to adjust the portrait layout, since I don't have a portrait layout device. Sorry. :)

Take a look at your original .cpr file. Open up mine, side by side. Look at the differences, especially numbers. Having gathered that knowledge, open up the potrait layout cpr file and start playing around with those numbers. It's really not that hard, and it's how all of us figured it out.

Someone in the Vox forum has solved the Slim Chome on Vox problem.
If you want to get rid of the whi border around the pictures in the pictures panel just lower the numbers for the image border. I can post the 320x240 chome.cpr file in here for any excaliber users that want to get rid of the border. Will not be able to post it before Sunday as I have gotto go to a wedding tomorrow.

The inactive panels ? What do you mean ? There's a section for the condensed version of the panel in the cpr file. Just work on those numbers...

It could be because you put a cpr file that does not go with the ROM you are using. Make sure that the cpr goes to the same ROM you are using; I had a similar problem myself once.

Have you intalled the original CAB file on the first page before you install the new modified CPR file? Not sure if that would make a difference.

Now if you take the cpr file that is like five threads above this and copy it into the windows folder and overwrite the other one it will get rid of the white border around the pictures.
