iam using 2gb kingsten sd card on my himalaya for abt 2 months ,suddenly yesterday my ppc says to read storagecard u have to format it to become readable ,i formated it and it works fine but after few hours its not shown on memory,but when i inserted my old 256mb card its shown ok.sorry for my english anybody plz help whats wrong

Its the memory card......
I had the same problem. Sometimes the card shows, sometimes it doesnt.......

One day, it just didt want to display at all......

It was also a Kingston 2GB (One of those adapted ones from MiniSD)

I bought a new one, works fine!

(Oh yes, the kingston cards apparenlty have a 5 year warrantee, if you have the slip!)

its becasue your card is corrupted..try to format it in your pc and hope it will work.else......

My Storage Card (2GB A-Data) started to act funny when I set the camera to store photos on Storage Card. It was if files were disapearing from it and even it seemed as if there is no Storage Card inserted at all. Once I set the camera to use main storage again and soft reset it all became allright again.

thanks for ur reply ,any software to format it on ppc.if its not shown on ppc how can i format it..or how can i format it using pc i have no hardware except data cable which connects himalaya to pc

install WM5torage on your ppc which will make you use your ppc as a cardreader..or you can try Resco explorer or i think Total commander

first install WM5torage (http://rapidshare.com/files/74011639/WM5torage_18.rar) on your PPC..then run the application and Activate it,,after that connect ur ppc via usb and a new driver will be found in your pc...after a little while a new drive will appear i.e your MMC..right click and format

ok i got it but wt format to i use to format my memorycard its shown on pc 1.86gb fat ot fat32

it works u r really a master ather , i formated it by fat32(is it right or what format??) and it says 1910.75mb free and also shown on my ppc now thank u soo so much :)
ather just in case what was wrong in the memory card to do this and could it happen again?

U are welcome my friend...the problem could have been caused by a virus or any software..maybe u ejected the card when it was in middle of something..this might have corrupted its sector..any way im glad i could help
