Just and FYI...this might be old info as there are newer radio versions out, but I did some tests with my new tilt and what type of ICS speeds I get over Bluetooth (PAN) vs. USB. I have tested 2 radio version, the stock Tilt radio (1.27.12.11) and (1.27.12.17).

I have attached a file which shows the tests results with a pivot chart.
In all instances (on average) USB outperforms bluetooth. I believe the maximum throughput of Bluetooth is in the 1mbps range, so it should be sufficient to top out the type of speeds one could expect from the phone. However, with overhead and the possible issues with interference over a BT connection, we see that USB is preferable.

Also, the later radio version appears to perform better in most areas. In summary, downloads over USB are quickest with 1.27.12.17 (about 15% faster than 1.27.12.11), whereas uploads are quicker over USB on 1.27.12.11 (about 15%). Personally I would prefer the faster download and so my connection method of choice will be USB and 1.27.12.17.

I will test additional radio versions as I use them.

Additional Info:
-Stock ATT Tilt ROM
-Speakeasy.net for speedtests using Chicago, IL server (city I am located in).

Hope someone finds this useful!

The rows in green are the top 3 download speeds achieved (2 out of 3 USB).
The rows in yellow are the top 3 upload speeds achieved (all USB).
