Long story short, my Z key hardly works and it serves a rather important function: unlocking the phone. I'd like to map the key with the T-Mobile lookin T in between the envelope and the camera to Z.

The eT9 txt file line for Z is
{0x77 Z * * 0x13} // VK_TSTAR maps to Z

and I'm fairly sure (using aekmap) that the tmobile key is 00EB (0xEB?).

Easiest way to remap this? if at all possible

thanks in advance gents

edit: I tried just adding {0xEB Z * * 0x13} to the eT9 txt and rebooting but it doesn't work. The T-Mobile key still defaults to opening Internet Explorer

Hello,

I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to do, but the key you're referring to (T-Zones on branded Dashes, Pocket IE on unbranded devices) is programmed to run the shortcut \Windows\Short_IE.lnk. I don't think you can remap it.

Sorry 'bout that.

Hi,

What I am trying to do more-so is remap the key used to Unlock the phone, as I have to struggle with it just to get it unlocked as the Z key barely functions (read: I hit unlock, then have to press the Z key several different ways at varying points and various pressures, hoping the phone realizes I've pressed it before the screen "Press "*" key to unlock the phone" disappears due to timeout)

is that any clearer? I just want to be able to easily unlock my phone again :(
Even if I could remap the unlock function to alt-Q or anything that would suffice (altho wouldn't be ideal, obviously)

I'm a Lefty. I'd love to know how to move unlock, too.

any new ideas? The * key is getting worse as I have to press it a little harder / more times with every unlock :( Helpppp
