Dopod C730 Firmware

Hi!

Just purchased my Dopod C730 today, its China Mobile Branded, but since i'm going home in June I might aswell get rid of the China mobile branded firmware. I downloaded the New Guava ROM 1.0 and tried to update the phone but it said corrupt image.

I use to be kinda good at this stuff but 6 months in Shanghai with that polution might have set me back :)

Anybody that can provide me a guide or some update that will work? I need a clean firmware without chinese language.

I think if you did not already done, try to download again the file.

And follow the step on "How-To" txt file included on the folder you have downloaded.

I would say you didn't app unlock and you didn't do uspl. Everything in the readme file!

You are correct :o But I seem not to find the USPL.bat, only USPL_116_jockyw. When I try to run that, it says "No Application associated with uspl_116_jackyw. Run the Applicatioon first then open this file inside the application". The App unlock said phone unlocked.

The name of file is "uspl_116_jockyw.bat"
So had the extension of the file if they are not hide...

Yes, i unrared it.

I have tried two different versions, the one bundled with the ROM and the orginal one.

Very strange, i can't hard-reset at all. I've run the Security Configuration Manager fra Microsoft said that Security should be off. Still it says no to running the bat file.

Today, I am a happy little boy. Apparently I (big surprise) did it all wrong. My phone is currently booting for the first time :) Thanks for the help from you two guys :)

Ohh this is soooo sweet compared to the China mobile setting, only bad thing is that I can't see chinese characters. But i can live without it :)

If you want Chinese characters then try this ROM. It is better than any WM6 ROM.

Thanks, but im gonna stick with the english, my chinese characters is kinda rusty :P Im only gonna be here 2 months more and everyone writes in english. But thanks anyway.

But can anyone recommend a good GPS program?
