Hi guys,

While trying to update the rom Windows Vista installed a driver and the update went crazy...:eek:
Now I'm stuck with grey screen with a progress bar sticking to 0%
When I reset (taking the battery out) I get a screen with three gradient colors (red/green/blue from top to bottom and some text:

I'm stuck! Any good ideas?

I was bored so I thought I would give this ROM a try. Certainly some very Non-OEM tweaks like the "Thai Edition" (Smart Mobility screen), then the Animated "Touch Club" Soccer player (HTC Logo screen). The strange notification sounds: SMS is "You got message" - not proper english and the missed calls sound is a Parrot :confused:

So what do I think... Well, I think I will use it for a while and see. It is VERY fast (although I have not loaded everything on it yet). I don't see any huge benefit over the BlueElves 5.0 or Shadow TE/CE ROMs that I have used. If you were using the Shadow CE version, but wanted a little bit more (Cube for instance) this may be a good option. Maybe when the full option is avail it will have more goodies that people will like.

This ROM is definitively faster than any ROM I've tested before BUT...

I'm having some problems with this rom:

-The menu for setup the camera is broken. There's any way to install a new version of the camera software?.
-Settings > Connections: There're 2 Comm Managers, the HTC version and the old one from Windows Mobile. How can I uninstall the old version and leave the new from HTC?
-Is definitive that the Professional version of Windows Mobile do not includes the new home screen from the Standard version?

I to have concluded this is the fastest ROM I have used on a Touch XL. In fact, I have two side by side, one with this ROM and one with BlueE V5.0 overclocked with Bat Status to 234, with the same software and they are virtually the same speed.

I have uploaded the stock HTC logo animation, if you want to replace the soccer player. Drag this file into Windows and restart. I assume the first boot screen is not so easy to change. :confused:

I am thinking there may be something with this ROM effecting ActiveSync. When I first flashed to it, I was able to sync with my PC and download contacts, calendar and e-mail. I was also able to sync over GPRS/EDGE. After a few hours using the phone, the phone stopped syncing either over the air or when connected to USB. The support code is: 80004005.

I did a hard reset. Set up ActiveSync again and again everything worked fine. This time for almost a day. Then today, it stopped syncing. I have deleted the paring between the phone and PC as well as deleted the PC and exchange settings in the phone. Trust me when I say I have done this process many times, so at this point I am going to flash to another ROM. If anyone else has this problem you may want to post it so the cooks can see if they can find the bug. Too bad because this is the fastest ROM I have found for my Elfin. :( (I am using build 19209.1.0.2).

Go to PDAMobiz link in the 1st post, look into fullversion 1.1 screenshots, almost indentical except for Home Screen which i think is cooler. :D

I think this ROM is a bit overload for Elf so I recommend it for Elfin only, safety first. ;)

So far ActiveSync seems to be working fine (although it did for almost a day with the first version), but for some odd reason the (vista) cube will not launch after the initial bootup. I even did a hard reset to see if something I installed may have messed things up (S2U2, etc.). I checked the running processes and it shows Biotouch, QuickDial, MediaHubMini and APLauncher all running. Finger scrolling works. Very strange. I hate to say I would not use this ROM because the Cube didn't work, but w/o the cube I would rather use a more bare bones ROM. As a side note to anyone who used the previous version and could not change the theme, this one works fine.

U want cube? Just use regedit to edit this line: HKLM\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings\Enablecube=1
Restart and voila! Vista cube for u. ;)

I found a solution for download speed from www.uploadd.com:

1. Find a working free proxy from Thailand (proxy4free.com or google search "thailand free proxy")
2. Add this proxy address/port to your browser or download manager (I used Internet Download Manager)
3. Copy the link to download manager and start download (or click the link in the browser)
4. Voila! The speed's gone up to 200kb/s :D

Have fun with 1.2V now. This version is real fast, good and stable. Muwahahaha

This is very frustrating! I followed "Ryu Kenshin"'s tip on downloading V12 and finally got it flashed. I guess I should watch what I wish for (in post 73). I flashed to V2 to see if ActiveSync worked and it didn't work on the first sync (Support Code: 80004005). Strange that you have V2 working. I then flashed to BlueElves V5 and ActiveSync works fine. I don't know.... :confused:

For those comparing V2 to V12, I think V2 is as good or better. V12 doesn't have the new version of Battery Status (as V2 has) and doesn't have the different "Vista Cube" (although you need to activate the cube in the registry after the first boot on both versions.)

I will try to upload V12 somewhere, but do not have a rapidshare or similar login.

i flashed it to my HTC Touch everything is fine except the windows media player. It only plaes any song for a few seconds and then either it jumps to the nex song or it gives the message "Not enough storage is available to complete this operation." Pls guide as to what is to be done.

after tried just one day,
I considered myself as a basic user, and these are my own personal feedbacks

What I do like,
It's noticeably fast without overclocking, so I don't need to overclock anymore, this speed is acceptable for me, I even forgot that it operates by OMAP..
(however somehow I feel like v1.2 is faster, or maybe that is just my own feeling)

What I don't like,
booting splash screen
new SMS program; the one with blue icon when we got a miss call or a new SMS. actually, i prefer a simple one from WM6.1.

problem with touchflo
after flashing, the first boot I haven't installed any other programs except from the autometic build-in ext_rom. I sync with my PC twice, and using HHC once, changing some basic settings like timezone, region, clock, etc..., then after that about an hour, I'd just noticed that the touchflo was not working. Tried Soft-reset but no luck. then Hard reset, it's working again until now. maybe i set something wrong.

problem with WLAN
when i turn the WLAN on, it's randomly turn off, sometimes longer, sometimes just a few second.
I noticed something more, when a WLAN network is found, during the obtaining its IP, it will autometically turn off.
(both infrastruture and ad hoc mode are the same).
and also for me, Soft reset and Hard reset do not help in this case.
so I still cannot make the WLAN working like in v1.2.

Anyway, it's a good ROM, and I will try to use this ROM a bit longer until i really need WLAN, or if there is another version released..

Try flashing to your OEM ROM. If you don't have it, try flashing using another OEM ROM (DPODASIA_WWE.... for instance). Even though it will give you the Invalid Vendor ID error when it starts to flash, it should take it out of bootloader mode.

These PDAMobiz ROMs seem to like having the SIM card and memory cards removed when flashing.

As far as V13 goes. Same issue with Active Sync. It works for a while and then it will not sync with the PC or Edge. Splash screen is annoying... (picture of animated lady sitting at a computer desk???). Not sure why they disable the cube after initial boot and make you go into the Registry to "Enable Cube".

This is my 4th attempt at a PDAMobiz ROM and I think I am done. Great speed, but not usable for me. :(

Actually, I have never ever taken those off while flashing any ROMs. and so far, still never had a problem with this issue. or maybe I'm lucky... :)

The best Rom as always, fast and stable! I like to have built-in S2U, S2V and S2P but they aren't the newest version so I have to reinstall them. The wifi problem is now gone for good.

Btw is it able to remove the battery icon on the traybar (Top, right hand. Beside the volume icon) . If i am not wrong it is under 'Advance Config' the options are Battery / Clock. I dunt see a None :(

After a clean reboot, only 24mb storage and 21.88mb ram

Very stable rom, doesn't seem to have any memory leak, but lack of bluetooth explorer!!

The SIM contact in this rom is not as trouble as the last rom but I still have to edit registry to show SIM contact. :(
Some programs in Settings refuse to run like Touchflo setting or GB-Soft Tweak, TaskList program do not run, too.
If this ROM had HTC Diamond theme and fix those annoying bugs, it would be perfect, but now, for me it seem like a test version. :D

Tried this 1.1.1 version, seems quite good, except the free memory is only 125MB left (total: 152.32MB, which is about 20MB lost somewhere).

Still testing the stability, previously I'm using the Light Rom 1.1 (5.2.19999), without HTC cube, etc..., that one is much faster.

I am using HTC Elf but not Elfin.

The rom is fast and stable. A lot of applications preinstalled (Acrobat reader 2.0LE, coreplayer 1.04 etc). Therefore the storage space is only about 21-24 after a clean reboot without any installations of softwares. Ram is about 21 mb after reboot. Very slightly memory leakage.

I think if there is a clean rom without any softwares preinstalled would be fine for those who want to install its own favorate softwares.

The new 585 ROM is simply fantastic. It has all software I need, included CorePlayer and Opera. Built-in PointUI is fabulous too, because I feel bored with HTC Home.
Maybe some of us don't want all these softwares but I found them more stable when built-in to ROM, maybe it's just my feeling ...

I highly doubt our Elf/Elfins could support the ACTUAL gui of the Diamond as it seems pretty graphically intense what with the transition effects and 3D interface.
Correct me if I'M wrong, lol.

I just flashed your new test 2 rom to my Elf, however it shows a thai style and language in Keyboard, HTC home, Calendar, etc......

Anything I can do in order to change it into English???

It is a great rom with SPB Shell.

I finally found the solution of the thai style and language in Keyboard, HTC home and Calendar.

On the other hand, the Jbed java is a bit older (20070802.2.1), I found that it cannot install opera mini 4.1.

One more thing, SPB mobile shell cannot update weather information.

I found that the test 2 rom has some problems.

(1) When I tried to install some chinese character and IME (such as CE-star and others modified chinese IME from Microsoft chinese rom), it stays in busy screen for long long time and I need to reboot HTC Elf.

(2) I have tried many other softwares I usually installed in my Elf, but half of them got the same above problem.

(3) The HTC Task manager 2.1 work so slow when compared with the Test 1 version of this rom.

(4) The ram after fresh reboot, just only about 14 MB.

I think I will switch to Test 1 later.

1. Test 2 version has heavy trouble with speed and RAM, I noticed it's very slow compare to all the old ROMs. My elfin crashed a lot when using SKTools.
2. The default theme is worst compared with test 1. Sometimes when i changed theme it returns to the default one and only back to normal after a few resets.
3. In my opinion spb shell cannot beat Point UI in test 1, and yeah, why Javabed is so old and slow. :(
The Diamond theme of Spb shell is not funtional well enough, though.
Anyway, I truly appriciated your hardwork and looking for version 3 soon. TKS!

All are WWE world wide english rom.

The rom from PDAMobiz is thai language enabled, therefore you will se a thai interface, but if you change the Regional Setting to English (UAS), it will show English Interface.

Also the default keyboard is ThaiCE but it has a software in the Programes Tools which can change back to English keyboard as default one.

For the rom from PDAViet is WWE interface already.

in a thread about a diamond-based rom for polaris, I've read that it contains a new version of Remote SIM Access (SAP)... I think 3.0.x or something like that.

I still have the hope that SAP will work with my car in future, so I tought installig your diamond-based rom would contain SAP (SAPSettings.exe and so on)... but I can't find it.

can you release an additional cab or a rom-version wich includes SAP?

I must confess that this is all new to me and when ever I have flashed a ROM in the past someone and always built where you just have to double click on the one icon and everything is done for you.

But i take it that this is not the case with this ROM, please can someone guide on how to flash this ROM ?

This 19588 is much slower, and not really stable, sometimes it will not respond.

I'm still using the 19199, and this is ROM, which I find that is the most stable and workable.

hi there everyone,

I foudn this forum since when I bought my touch a few months ago and I just became a flashing junkie :).

anyway I flashed this rom and my pda just restarted renadomly so I put back another rom on it.

the problem also is that the startup screen of my pda shows this weired PDAMOBIZ and then the "SCANNING" Thing and I need to get rid of it "as i dont like it".

Now I am sure that if I do a search I would find how to replace it but since I don't wanna mess it up I am looking for a standard one to just flash.

I am not sure what it is called either so I am not sure what I am looking for.

So after flashing about 4 PDAMobiz ROMs and always ending up flashing to something else (usually due to ActiveSync problems) I said I wasn't going to try theirs anymore. Well I couldn't resist and flashed 19588VSPB+ to my Elfin "flash test dummy". Holly SH^T this thing is loaded AND is the fastest ROM I have used. Even faster than AB's UC ROM with much less software added. Memory is very low, but doesn't seem to effect performance. Yes battery status is on the ROM, but unless they did something I can't see, there is no over clocking being done. I also have been trying ActiveSync only via GPRS and not my PC. I think this is where the source of my past problems were. Even though other ROMs can work via GPRS or tethered, these seem not to like that. It works, so I am happy.

What's the catch? Battery life is not the best. 100% at night and with AS syncing every 2 hours, battery is about 92% in 9 hours. AB's ROM usually stays at 99 or 97%. When it is being used, it seems to drain faster as well.

I said it had lots of stuff and it does. The worst being their need for splash screens. Why???? As posted right before this, there is a fake finger print scanning screen at the "middle" screen. The file in windows to change this is scan.gif. I posted the HTC animated screen earlier in this thread if you want to rename that file.

If I had time (and knowledge :(), I would love to pick apart this ROM and remove some of the extra stuff and see what it really can do. Anyway I give this ROM a 9 out of 10 and have already flashed it to my main Elfin for daily use.

I have had lots of problems with the PDAMobiz ROMs and active sync. This time I didn't set up AS on the PC. I set it up on the device and whenever I connect it to the PC (only for transferring files) I hit cancel at the setup screen. So far this has worked for about 3 days.

I would go into ActiveSync on the device, go to menu/options and delete all the connections / setups (MS exchange and PC most likely). Then soft reset and set up the Exchange server from the device. Good luck! I think you will find this ROM is worth not syncing via PC - assuming you have an unlimited data plan :D

Like somebody in this trhead said, since I read this forum I became a flashing junkie, so I gave this rom a try.
First, this rom is very good and stable, buy in order to have it fully functioning, you need to have SPB and Core Player licences.
I had problems with the time zone, because every time I reset the phone, the time changes regardless of having unchecked the automatic time zone changer, but after a while it stoped, I don't know why.
The same happened with the wifi.
So after almost two days of having it, I'm very please with this rom, it is very fast and reliable. I took away AppLauncher and Biotoch from the start up, and I'm getting 20mb program memory free.
I'm not experiencing any problems with active sync yet. I'm using an usb connection.
Congratulations to the one who create this rom, like I said, is one of the best.

Hi,

I have flashed several ROMS and had a variety of problems with all of them. Now I am running the PDAMobiz 6.1 19588 rom and I cannot connect to a bluetooth device because the OK key is missing from the passcode page in the bluetooth manager.

Anyone know of a way to enable this or is there a BT manager download available anywhere ?

extract a shipped ROM using NBHextract.exe utility. u will get some *.nb files after this. the one that u need will be something like 02_MainSplash.nb. using HTCrt tool, prepare an RUU_Signed.nbh file using this 02_mainsplash.nb. then flash it to ur phone.

Thought i should give a feedback on this rom as this is for 'test' as mentioned. so here is a short description-

1. First thing which irritated me the most is the stupid 'PDAMOBIZ' & 'FINGER SCAN' screen that appeard on the start up.

2. The HTC home plugin was nothing special except a new htc diamond style clock & skin which is nothing great. this skin & clock was completely gone after i used HHC for some customization & i cudnt restore it. instead the original HTC home clock came back.

3. It is not even possible to have 6 tabs in the HTC home. supports only 5 tabs.

4. Speed is not anything extraordinary. similar to other cooked roms available.

5. SPB mobile shell is the same 2.0 version simply with a diamond style skin. its not even registered.

6. many useless applications hav been included.

8. Volume seems to be very low.

7. The storage memory of the phone was reduced to 150 mb with this rom which normally remains 171-174mb with other cooked roms.

9. There r some stuffs like HSPDA connect which r for HTC diamond ony. totally worthless & wastage of space for elf users.

So my suggestion would be- dont waste your time by flashing this rom when you have much better roms available like 'Shadow' & 'Blue elves'. there is absolutely nothing special about this rom.

I found a program searching in this forum that is very easy to use and to change the initial screens, as a matter of fact, I placed a photo of myself as the initial screen, is very funny to see myself every time I soft reset my phone.
Here is the program, it says that is for Artemis, but it works on Elf.

cudnt agree with ur more bro. this build was rather a disappointment than an advantage. shadow and blue elves is the way to go. and if anyone of u happens to like big storages instead of wm6.1 and pre-cooked programs, look up and try seksona's roms. its great!

Finally a rom from PDAMobiz with no activsync problem. Very fast and stable rom. This is the best rom I have try, and I have try every rom! :D

3rdly the volume is again keeping low.

4thly contacts hav been replaced by icontacts which i didnt like much.

5th memory after flashing is like this- total storage-156 mb. used- 7mb. program memory- 107.4 mb.

6th the hspda switch has again been included. what the hell is that for?

7th the touch cube animation hav been modified. some people would like it & some wont.

overall its not a very bad rom bt i hope hong will read this post & will post a better modified english version of this rom.
otherwise the PDAVIET rom(19949.1.2) is a far better choice only if u add the smartdial yourself.

Usually the thai calender & thai keyboards can be changed back to WWE if you change the regional setting to Unite State.

First must say thank you for always updating us about the new pdamobiz roms. Now I downloading from sharedzilla and will put it to rapidshare for faster access.

I do not speak thai (unfortunately) but somewhere in the pdamobiz forum a rom was mentioned called:
PDAMobiz_WM6.1_elf_elfin_19588V1_Lite By hong2101

Is it a real rom? If it is lite rom could you let us know which apps were removed?
...maybe could you share this lite rom with us?:)

There is another rom called: PDAMobiz WM6.1 19900 T by hong2101 # dtac mentioned.... any info about this also?

I didn't seem to have active sync problems with the last version (19600) so I thought I would try this Kaiser port. It worked great for 2 days and they active sync stopped working. Doesn't matter if I delete the settings and set things up again, it will not sync with my exchange server.

Man I wish one of the PDA Mobiz or PDA Viet ROMs would work for me!!! No active sync on the PDAMobiz and no PCM keyboard on the PDA Viet. I have been messing with the new Hybrid Kitchen, but have yet to cook one of these ROMs without the same problems.

I have gone back to V 19600 and so far it seems to be working with ActiveSync and all my other applications. I had this ROM working side by side with the PDAViet V41 and the PDAMobiz was slightly faster with the same apps.

Finally got the latest Kaiser port version (test 3) to download. So far this is by far my favorite ROM. The fastest of any ROMs (close to PDAViet but still a little faster). A very good mix of included apps and tools including PCM Keyboard (my favorite!), SIP change (called change keyboard on the ROM), Diamond Opera build, diamond MP3 trimmer, AM diamond skin, Poorly's WM diamond skin, NoteM, Photo Dialer, psshut with diamond skin, CapSure, pTravel Alarm (works great, now I don't need to install SPB time to have an Mp3 alarm tone!), newest task manager with large menu text, large start menu, large title bar, battery status, cicle BT, advance config, touch settings, reg edit, glossy blackbars, mode SMS, USB to HDD, zip and still has the touch cube (yes I still use it...).

AND ActiveSync appears to work with this version - at least it has for 3 days. I hope I am not jinxing it!!

The bad:
1. The ROM does change all 3 splash screens, although none are that bad. Why the 2nd one says Windows Vista PDAMobiz version, I don't know? The 3rd is a Diamond screen.
2. The ROM boots in Thai. Don't freak, just set the time zone and set the clock after you change the language. After it boots, loads the ext. ROM (fileEX), restarts, go to settings, regional settings and change the language to English (United States) - or your preference.
3. The default keyboard is Thai. Again, don't freak you can still manually select "keyboard" until you can install a keyboard of your choice. I am using my Diamond PCM skin (link below in my sig) and it works great (yes space bar works, as apposed to the PDA Viet ROMs :().
4. More something odd than bad. When I first booted the ROM I swear it had the newer Diamond title bar icons - the speaker has a break in the icon and the E for edge is different. Now it is back to the standard WM6 icons. Fine with me as I am using WAD2 and only see the title bar when some apps are open.

Unless someone finds more problems with this ROM, I would say this is a winner - and I have tried every ROM I can get my hands on. Not to take anything away from the other cooks on this Forum they do great work, but today, this version seems to be the best for me.

Here is a link to the PDAMobiz page that shows some screen shots - no idea what the text says! There is a newer version of this same build posted with the "MusicFlo" interface, but to me it has not been developed enough to have on a ROM.

No problem with Wifi so far, but when i turn wifi off, Comm Manager still show Wifi on but it's actually off, don't know why he he ... :)

hm, maybe mine is actually turning on , but the icon is staying off. I'll check it out.

EDIT: I still can't seem to connect through WIFI. The icon in the comm manager stays off when clicked, although the wheel (hourglass) does come up as if its doing something when I click it.

I'm using a p3450 (not XL or elfin). If anyone has a fix I'd appreciate it, this rom looks smooth and fast other than this drawback (which is a pretty big draw back)

Wifi works fine on my Elfin. While they should do the same thing, keep in mind there are two comm managers in this ROM (settings, connections tab). You may want to try turning off or on with both to see if that changes anything.

OK. The second comm manager which has the All on/off button at the top only displays Bluetooth and Phone. Should it be displaying all of the other options as does the first comm manager?

Also, I can't seem to get a handle on my data connections. If I have the phone turned on in the second comm manager it allows me to open up a data connection. How can I turn off all ability to create a connection except through a WIFI connection with this rom? In the first comm manager the Data Connection option is grayed out.

OK so an update on this. Im not sure exactly what I did but I've got the WIFI working. I went in and changed the auto-connection to another country/service to avoid the data connection issue. I then went into the WIFI LAN settings and once again tried turning it on from there, this time it worked. I'm not sure if the other connections (a G icon in the taskbar) was interfering with it or not. Does anyone have a program that will simply disable these data connections that could cost money?

I have been using V2 of this ROM for over a week and it works great. Just loaded V3 today and there does not seem to be much change. The dialer is a little different (smart dial) and there is a different first splash screen - not bad, but still wish they would not do this!

I have been using this 20226 V3 ROM for over a week (forever for me!) and can't find any bugs or problems. ActiveSync works, Wifi works, dialer has smartdial, great included apps and the speed is on par or faster than other ROMs I have used. I compared it side by side to ABs latest 7.11 with the same apps loaded and the PDA Mobiz was just as fast or faster on everything I tried.

About the only things I would (have) change(d) are the PDAMobiz splash screens and the HTC Home plug is an older version that does not have tab settings in the items screen and I can't get the weather patched. Although I don't use the HTC Home plug, so not a big deal.

Try it, you'll like it! But be prepared to loose the "Smart Mobility" screen or know how to change it.

I'm always amazed at how ROMs work different on similar devices, with different apps. Sorry you didn't like it - not my ROM so no big deal to me. Actually I have not tried V44 since I figure it still has PCM keyboard problems and that is my preferred SIP method.
