well frankly speaking, my friend mr.cashmore is doing all the xip porting ;) (thx a lot man) .. i am the process of learning the art of xip porting (waiting a tutorial frm him soon)
will gladly share wz u after i get the tutorial, i think he will give me the stuff after he finishes his project of porting both ceos5.2.19199 & 19202
The base is my old Lite rom that i whipped a month back, i have tried it with kaiser rom but always stuck after boot screen with poutlook error ??? i dont think that the sys files have changed that much on all the build
I will try again soon on the kaiser or hermes build soon

not sure bout that since this xip is ported to zinc only .... u have to do a complete port in order to use it with other dev .... (correct me if i am wrong)
one other thing if u only port coredll only according to a dev it maybe can work but cant say it will be perfect

Dear Cruzzmz
The O2 autoconfig for Asian countries is needed to setting up GRPS,WAP and MMS. Although it doesn't work in EXT ROM, can it be produced in form of .CAB for installing?
I've tried the ported version of CE 5.2.19199 to Zinc of both Full and Lite English versions of your kind and concluded the Lite to be extremely stable no "Hung" times. The Lite CHS Chinese Simplified I have tried also and concluded to be similarly stable with plenty of memory space.
However, the removal of 3G Video Calls does cripple the functionality of the purpose in 3G simcards especially when we are doing video conferencing.I understand certain countries does not need but generally 3G Video Calls are implemented in most of phones even Nokia Brands. I was surprised when Ganfan editions removed that as well but he catered for .CAB install option. I have tried and it works, including the GPRS news update although the service operator is not our local Singapore configuration.
I understand the removal of many programs is to remove space and cater for stability. For instance "O2 PLUS" is used to terminate applications running in background which I believe it can be useful and necessary.Otherwise, an option to include in .CAB like what has been provided as a link in your previous thread for "Office" is recommended.Rather than recompiling into different .ABIs.
Lite infrared works for both Eng and CHS.
With the new 19209, I hope to have that option although the home screen WM7.1 does look impressive than HTC types.

I am trying to find out where does the xml setting are installed in the wm6 rom. If u know the installation place pls do tell me ... this is crucial in making the cab for setting up the MMS etc
GanFan didnt include the Video call just because in China there is still no video calls offered.
For termination of the programs on the background, in WM6.1 you can use task manager ... if not u hv to install a 3rd party program (like o2 oso is a 3rd party sw)
For the office yes i will exclude it in the rom since there is a cab for it ...
The WM7 today screen is just a rlToday plugin that u can find easily on the web
Thx for the comments :D

Dear Cruzzmz
I had tested the SDHC driver since many weeks ago. The driver does works on reading 4GB and the remainder space is reported correctly. However, upon powering off and turn on, the card cease to report correctly the size. Meaning you have to eject and reinsert the minisd to allow it to be recognized on the filesystem whether FAT16 or 32.Many PDAs have not support till 4GB and 8GB because of the firmware.Few models recognize consistently the expansion card.
The China developers were not thorough on the issue generally because they points they have not used that big.But there is an author who puts up a software recommended by Ganfan to prolong battery life with big capacity media and in recognizing properly by turning off the screen display through software. The attached has it in Chinese. I wonder could you reauthor into English and most importantly to increase the inactivity timer control.

The program does off the screen of the pda like in hibernation mode. Mainly, I just have to put the exec into a directory and click it or put a shortcut. It allows any keys to be associated for wakeup, rather than pressing the power on/off. In doing so, the SDHC gets always recognized..

Since I'm quite a noob in this subject, do you mind explaining to me the difference between the CEOS 5.2.1437 (it's the OS that you ported sucessfully recently, right? ) and the CEOS 5.2.19202 that you're testing now?
Thanks a lot :)
Well 1437 uses the old WM6 xip ... so it may not be a full port to WM6.1. As for the 19202, it uses the ported xip of the build ... thanks to my buddies at o2zinc.cn. The diff is the respond speed is faster, hopefully my buddies could supply me with the latest 19400 or 19700 build soon :D

Sorry, can't provide you with those info because the repacked version always hangs at the Windows Mobile 6.1 splash screen. The start menu bar is loaded but is non-responsive. Speaker and network icons are displayed but not clickable either.
Anyway, I am using the version prior to the repacked version (CE OS 5.2.19202 Build 19199.1.0.0). This one seems to be working fine so far.

The new rom seems faster. but there're some problems and recommendations:
1-office mobile shortcut is not available in programs group
2-windows live messenger is not available. i use it, why you remove :) ? for example "im plus" is not good, it waits so much time to load the list.
3-message shortcut on dpad gives error.
4-freecell game and resco explorer is not registered but installed.
5-calculator does not work. give .net CF error.
thanks

Yes, using the repacked ver. First time boot after flashing got the "accheck" error. Then I copied the accheck.exe file to the windows directory and is OK.
Rebooted several times all is OK.

hey d00d,
I've flashed your new ROM and it seems to be faster than your Big Storage ROM.
However, I returned to Big Storage as I didn't like the Resco File Explorer.
I even tried to upgrade it but it was installed along with the version you supplied.
So NO SOUP for me.....
Any chance of bringing back the old file explorer?
Thanks for the hard work :D

the last time I've flashed my Zinc is 5 days ago. the 1st work which I have done with my Zinc (after flash ROM v. 19202) is hard reset! Then I installed accheck.cab (copy& install from SD card. Ver. accheck.exe is not work). Then I normally installed software.

the windows live u r trying to use was build to work on WM6.1 build 19400 and above, similar case as yours have been reported by other 19202 users. why dont you try to install windows live build 10.6.0034.0800
im sure you can search for it in this forum :)
anyways, this latest cook by cruzz has been running smoothly on mine.
p/s: yo cruzz, i have tried and use babelfish to tranzlate o2zinc.cn but theres too many "ambigous" translations, (weird english) i notice that they are having a large progress on the support for o2 zinc. its a shame that it is not accesible to all due to language limitations....*sigh*

Anyone else faces the same problem? What do you use to read chinese (beside CE Star since I don't want to pay and also, I just want to be able to read). Thanks.

make your own 320x320 png of the image that you want, name it welcomehead.96.png
save it into a folder i.e bootscreen in your root.
use any reg editor - find welcomehead.96.png
change the string from /welcomehead.96.png in
1. carrier bitmap
2. windows bitmap
to your own bootscreen

Being aware that you're quite busy since you've just got your new born princess, and it's ok, take your time :)
Just remember that we're here waiting for your coming back, as well as your new ROM, with ... fingers crossing ;) :D

cruzz, cant wait for your latest cook.
btw, i know u r kinda busy with the new addition to your family, mind me asking, your new ports, will i be able to extract them using ur kitchen? your build 19202 could not be extracted bcuz it says that somethings wrong with the abi file.. see, i usually download your roms and i will do some enhancements on the user interface by editing some .dll (the windows start button image, the signal meter etc using resource hacker) i also had changed the standard buttons and background in the dialer *even the videocall button*
so if it is not too much to ask, can you make your future release to be extractable and cookable?:D
anyways, thanx again for all your previous cooks!

last nite i was sooo bummed from doing my thesis, i spent some hours on trying to patch the xip of build 19900(cruzzmz's - from o2zinc.cn) on cruzz's lite release(19900). flashed my phone and noticed that the free ram is up to 28+mbs and there's no more slugish scrolling... will post the screenshot as soon as i uploaded them... actually i dont know that u have to upload ur pictures somewhere else.. hehe
tonight will try to do some cosmetics on it without eating up too much system call-ups and resources...
maybe will upload finished rom soon... still testing stability...

cool if u can give a screenshot of the build (about screen) .... also the b4 & after the cosmetic change ... (feels like the doctors in nip & tuck eh)

here it is, sorry no screen capture... my girlfriend is using my laptop...http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3079/2600251021_bb2b118341.jpg?v=0
cant wait for your next cook bcuz i think it will perform better. one thing i find from my xip patching is - when i use the self diagnostic tool, the sdram test failed... weird as it was running very smoothly. the o2 autoconfig also was blank like the 19202 build... had to install dvrautoconfig to fix that...

Good job crumzzmz. Can't wait for build 19900 :)
If possible try exclude resco 2008 V7 cause feed back from resco forum is not good. Resco explorer v7 can't overwrite file with attribute "ROM" (but old version can :( ), but has been fixed in v7.02,

@cruzzmz: About the Resco Explorer 2008, or even 2007 version, I really prefer this app. to be excluded.
The first reason is such app. is supposed to be updated frequently. So if you include it to the ROM, it'll be inconvenient to keep this app. up to date ( I mean in that case, you will have to install the new updated one, when available, and waste an amount of storage (about 1.4MB, quite a lot, right?) for the old one that is built in ROM).
The second one is the Resco Explorer still works well when it's put in SD card. So including it in the ROM can be considered as a kind of wasting device's memory (no offense). I myself have this app. "installed" (even not officially be installed, that's why I have these ") in SD card, and it still works like a champ :D
Just my two cents

it seems that running rexplorer from sd is ok but the thing with installed apps in sd is, it will fill up the ram more because it will be loaded like dlls do... thus cooking it into the rom will eliminate the extra load on ram... every kb of rom is very precious....
besides, by the time a new update is out, cruzz will probably have a new better cook hehe:p

I don't know the above info, which is the programs installed in SD will fill up more RAM since I do not have much experience in it, as well as have not done any test and comparision about it.
But even when you're right, so there're two choices. One is permanent using an amount of device's storage if the app. is in ROM. And the other one is using the SD storage instead to store the app. and using more device's storage when using it occassionally. Besides, you still can have some/all of the used RAM back when closing the app., using some apps like Oxios Hibernate, or do a SR at last .
I will take the second one. But once again, it's definitely JMTC :D

well as for me too i dont like to put to many thing inside the cooked rom. but then again everybody have their own liking :D
well u can always use the kitchen to cook ur own rom (that is what it is for)
BTW 19900 has been UPLOADED (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=402283) ... hopefully everybody will be happy
(but then i still have to figure out what is wrong wz my laptop ehmmmm)

Hi Cruzzmz!
We found Chinese O2 Zinc ROM with SDHC support - could you please try to extract SDHC driver from it?

No, it is from Zinc (not Zinc II). I am tried it today (flashed my Zinc) it works correctly (btw it has Resco Explorer!) but it doesn't see cards (I tested on Transcend 8Gb and Kingmax 4Gb - both classs 6). Sorry for disturbing you.
