New to the Tilt, so be gentle!

So I ham brand new to the Tilt and PocketPC in general and I have few questions.

Is there a list of common software apps that are MUST haves for the Tilt?

Is the Tilt MicroSD HC compatible?

How do you change the theme on the desktop...ie. I see a large digital clock on some Tilt pics and like, how can that be changed?

Can the Titl be tethered via USB to my laptop?

I am sure I will have more questions but this will help me to get going.

So far I like the phone, kinda hoggy on the battery though...which scares me a little.

yes its HC compatible, ive got an 8GB card in mine, 16GB is soon to be released.

you can change the theme by going to start >settings>today and playing about there.

use the disc that came with it for the USB connectivity or download

Microsoft Activesync if you have Windows XP or earlier -or-
Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Centre if you have vista.



hope this gets you going but the best tool you have to finding out all your questions is the search button at the top of this page!

read all the wikis and stickies...trust me u'll find a lot of good information in there...also check out the development and kaiser rom...some real good customizing tools there too..but make sure u read first then try it out

welcome, i'll asnwer some of your questions to get you started. there are some old threads dealing with must have software, but those are way old, you can try looking in the software section or looking at the wiki of other devices, like maybe the hermes. imicrosd compatible, yes. the large clock you see is called htc home. you might wanna try looking at htc home customizer. it will automatically download htc home for you and allows you to customize it. tethering via usb yes. pls make sure to go through the wiki and the stickies both here and in the upgrading section.

Just wanted to say thanks so much for the jump start on getting my new Tilt going. I read @75% of the stickies and FAQs prior to posting, but there is almost too much info there and I never have any luck with the searches on most forums, so your answers to my questions helped greatly.

I look forward to learning more here and making my Tilt work for me!!
